Now for the good news. For less than half the cost of the comparable Malem alarm, The Wet-Stop 3 is AMAZING. Over a one month period, my son of 4 1/2 years has gone from wetting his pants 2-3 times per night, to wearing regular underwear and being dry all night long. In addition, there is a magnet attached to the vibration/audible alarm (there are 3 settings, either vibration or audible only, or vibration and audible together) that folds over the neckline of the pajamas, so no pins and no holes in the clothes. This is how we used the alarm:
First: we talked about how it worked and let him feel what the vibration felt like on his collar bone by dipping the computer chip in a cup of water. Once he was convinced that the alarm would not be deafening in the night, he was excited about wearing it.
Week 1: The first 4 nights, we allowed our son to sleep in a sleeping bag on the floor in our room. The first 2 night of this he woke up soaking wet, with the alarm going off, woke me up, and I helped him changed his Pull-Up and reattached the alarm. The second 2 nights, he woke up slightly less wet and finished urinating in the toilet, then we changed his Pull-Up. An important point, it was difficult enough for me to disconnect the clamp from his Pull-Up and hold the alarm reset button in, much less having a young child do this alone. The last 3 days of the first week, our son slept in his room, but came to wake me when he was wet (albeit, just barely) to reset the alarm and finish urinating in the toilet.
Week 2: 3 of 7 nights, the Pull-Up was DRY, the others we finished in the toilet and resent the alarm and went to bed.
Week 3: DRY for 7 nights in a row, still wearing the Wet-Stop 3 and a Pull-Up
Week 4: So far, we are 2 days into week 4 and our son is wearing regular underpants with the Wet-Stop 3 attached. So far, haven't had to change any sheets!!!!! He wakes up with a smile from ear to ear and that is worth all the money in the world.
As with anything new, consistency is the key. Don't get discouraged after one or two days of wet pants. Keep at it and encourage your child with every step. Congratulate him/her for waking up to the alarm, for coming to get help, etc. Remember, this is behavior modification, not punishment, and not magic.
I hope this review is helpful, and that your family has as much success as we have experienced. Good Luck! I thought for quite a while before purchasing this alarm. Or any alarm. Wondering how long it would be before I would recoup the cost of the alarm vs. continuing to buy GoodNites. My 5-year old daughter is such a deep sleeper, and wet the bed every single night, so I really had my doubts. But I happened upon the WetStop3 and the price was lower than other brands I had seen. So I decided to roll the dice and buy it. I am SO GLAD that I did! This alarm has all the bells and whistles of any other brand both vibration and beeping sound, small size, and functioned perfectly. For the first few days to a week my daughter often completely emptied her bladder before it woke her. But soon she was stopping midstream and getting to the bathroom to finish. And very soon after that she was getting up before the alarm even went off. I think the whole process took about 3 weeks. I had prepared myself for it taking SO much longer. And with no accidents at all, she quit wearing the alarm at just over one month from when we started. I was amazed! I'm still amazed at how well it worked that's why I'm writing this review. This is the first time I've ever been moved to write a review. Needless to say I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ALARM!!!

My son did well wrt not wetting the first couple of days I think just because of the excitement of trying this product out. After that though he sleeps right through the alarm. We weren't even sure it was going off until I checked on him one night & it was vibrating & alarming. The tone is very low and I cannot hear it from the hallway and my son definitely sleeps through it. You really need a loud, piercing alarm to wake up a deep sleeper. I think most bed wetters are deep sleepers so I am sure we are not unique. This is a great case of you get what you pay for. I purchased this alarm for our 6 year old because it was a good price and didn't seem to be any worse than the more expensive alarms. I was wrong. First, you can't hear this alarm and we even put the baby monitor in her room and ours and it still wouldn't wake us up. Then when it did wake her up she would do the 2 step process to turn it off and the wire broke at the alarm end with the phone jack connector. The tab broke off. So You have to order a whole new replacement cord for around $15 plus shipping. We did that and that one broke too so we gave up on this and bought the more expensive Malem and it was about 3 weeks into that and she was dry consistently. So the alarm method works but spring for the more expensive alarms and leave the Wet Stop ALONE!!After two weeks of waking up to the alarm and "finishing" in the bathroom, our 6 year old began sleeping through the night without having to go at all. He has had almost a full month of completely dry nights, has stopped wearing pull-ups to bed, and has even attended a sleepover at a friend's house without having to worry about being "found out." We are thrilled and are now passing the alarm around to friends who have children experiencing the same issue!
