People can claim it is just the placebo affect and that is fine, as long as it makes me feel better, and is safe, I don't care.

My 3 year old daughter has been coughing with a stuffy nose for the past few days. Seems like it's been going around our household. Anyhow, I usually refrain from giving her any kind of medicine, unless she absolutely NEEDS it to fall asleep. I bought this at Target...checked the reviews while I was there and decided to buy it since it was highly rated. I wish I could get a refund. I gave her a teaspoon, which is the recommended dose. Almost 2 hours later after giving her the dose, she's been coughing up a lung! I finally buckled down and gave her a dose of children's ibuprofen, which always seems to do the trick. I just tend to want more natural remedies.
Please be mindful, I also have her head elevated, as usually coughing gets worse at night. I also have a humidifier and fan to help with circulation in her bedroom. I'm just a little disappointed that I spent $5 on this, all to use ibuprofen. I really wanted this product to work!

I have twin sons who recently turned 3 years old. I have dreaded them getting coughs because there's almost no cough syrup you can give them at this young age. Then a friend told me about Hyland's. I'd seen it before but had been disappointed by other homeopathic syrups that claimed to work for young children and didn't, so I hadn't tried it. However, this time I've been pleasantly surprised! I haven't tried the non-nighttime one, but I think I will for when their coughs are just too much during the day. One disclaimer: My boys don't have runny noses, so I can't speak to that. I notice others have been disappointed in how this product didn't treat that symptom. But for coughs, in my experience, it's a Godsend!

It's a great product, but needs a longer handle. Being an older person, my reaching ability is limited, and a longer handle would be more comfortable. Maybe the company will invent an adapter to extend the reach! Hopefully.
