Fekkai Advanced Care Overnight Hair Repair Intensive Hair Treatments

I loved that this overnight conditioner did not leave any residue on my pillow. I love frederic fekkai products once and decided to try it and I loved it. I really felt my hair looked less frizzy and shiny after one week of following the instructions of using it the first week. However, I do feel it is a bit too pricey, however with the great price I received from Amazon for $50.00 less, I did not hesitate to buy it. I will only buy again at a lower price. There are many products to love in the Frederick Fekkai line, for me this just doesn't happen to be one of them. This bottle is quite small to begin with and if it weren't sooooo expensive I'd probably wind up using a quarter of of the bottle on my hair each time if treating this like a regular conditioner. That would make this close to fifty dollars each treatment ?!?

Even when using it *very* sparingly the results are not any better than any other really good conditioner left on my hair overnight. Where this product also looses me is that you have to wash your hair again in the morning and this is recommended 2-3 times per week. This just did not work for me; the more often I wash my fragile hair two things happen: tangling/breakage opportunities AND *more* exposure to heat/styling. Those two things create a catch 22 cycle that never allows my hair to improve.

I have at least one other conditioner in my good haircare arsenal that does a better job, especially with a heat cap instead of left to dry on my hair overnight.

I would say if this interests you, try it anyway I did, and made up my mind for myself after seeing the results. For me, this was a *very* expensive experiment that did NOT work. It's good to note how it worked for others though so you might have your expectations better in line with what the product can do. Maybe this will work for you.

Personally I would not recommend this treatment to friends/family.

Hylands Hylands Calms Forte Sleep Aid

I'm writing this after my first restful sleep all week, after taking two Calms Forte pills before bedtime. I have trouble sleeping at night and often get on a bad sleeping schedule because of it. Sometimes Calms Forte is exactly what I need to break the cycle. It's relaxing and does make me just drowsy enough to fall asleep. I've used melatonin before, but it's much too strong for me and makes me feel groggy in the morning. With Calms Forte, I feel fine when I wake up.

I can definitely feel when this kicks in, a kind of heaviness, a "wouldn't it be nice to lie down for a minute" feeling. If I do lie down, I'll sleep til morning. But if I get a phonecall or get to a good part in my book, then it's not very hard to push through and miss that little window of drowsiness. Also, one pill doesn't do it for me, I have to take two.

I understand the mix of five-star and one-star reviews. It's mild; this is not something that will knock you out in fifteen minutes. Some people respond to herbal remedies, some don't. So buy the smaller bottle and give it a try, just be prepared to pass the rest on to a friend or family member if it doesn't work out for you.

Unfortunately these pills did nothing to help me get to sleep, however I did notice I was calmer after taking them, and that is one of the effects of the pills.

It's all about what you expect. These don't rival Unisom. For heavy duty anxiety I'll sooner reach for Xanax. That said, both of the aforementioned have their benefits and side effects. Long term use isn't desirable. I'm not saying it's great to take these on a regular basis, but their relatively weaker influence won't lead to the psychological dependence you might experience with other drugs.

I have a background in medicine and as a result, I view natural products with a healthy amount of skepticism. I want to see peer reviewed journals demonstrating efficacy; I don't care if cultures used passiflora incarnata or avena sativa (the top two ingredients) to cure ailments before the birth of modern medicine.

With all of this said, I was given this bottle well over five years ago and I came across them today. I took three and I have to concede that I do notice a slight effect. Sedating, I suppose. I imagine they would have worked better if they were used within a reasonable amount of time, hence the extra star for longevity.

If you found these ineffective, my first suggestion would be to take them on a (near-)empty stomach if you haven't already. At least not right after a meal. A needle in a haystack for your digestive system, so to speak.

Contour Contour Cpap Multi-Mask Sleep Aid Pillow

As a user of a CPAP machine, I have spent my evenings trying to adjust and configure pillows so that I can wear the face mask with some semblance of comfort, with little success. I took a chance on this sleep pillow and I have to say it works great! Not only does it nicely accomodate the shape shape of the mask, the neck support is a real added value. I did not have any of the problems noted in the other review.

This pillow is an improvement over regular pillows for CPAP users --the cutouts allow the mask & hose to remain comfortably positioned making for a better nights sleep for side sleepers like me. Be aware the pillow is quite firm which I like but doesn't necessarily appeal to everyone. This is my first non standard pillow so I can't compare to others but versus a standard bed pillow it's worth the price. I also bought the accessory kit which adds a foam insert,a pillow cover and a cover for the air hose--I'm glad I did the extra cushioning is a nice plus although at the price of the pillow I feel the pillow cover should have been included. As for the hose cover, in theory it helps prevent condensation from accumulating in the air hose -I have only had that problem once before I received the cover and not since so I cannot attest to it's effectiveness. If you have problems with condensation turn down your humidty settings remove the hose from the CPAP and hang to dry out during the day --simple but effective.

The pillow is comfortable, though maybe too firm for some people's taste, though I really like it. The cutouts for your cpap mask are only on the two lower corners, it doesn't run all the way across. That makes it work for your head to be on a firm supportive surface but your mask will easily fit into the cutout if you sleep near one of the pillow edges. The pillow does fit into a normal sized pillow case. All in all, it's a bit more comfortable than a normal pillow while you're using your cpap, but it's not a world changing difference.

Unfortunately, due to the design of this pillow, the upper mask clip is wedged between the pillow and the side of the head in use. There is a lot of discomfort and because of the side pressure on the mask, a lot of leaks. I tried it for two nights and gave up because I couldn't sleep more than a half hour at a time without having to shift position to ease the discomfort or stop a leak.

According to the company's return policy, hygiene law prohibit them accepting returns or giving refunds on pillows.

This product is unusable and I'm out $50.

It does have cutouts for your C-pap but there is too much padding at the top so you wind up sleeping further down on it than it's designed for or winding up with a crick in your neck in the morning. I don't see how it correctly supports your spine with that in mind. I wouldn't buy again but it was worth trying as my other pillow didn't work too well. I think I'll look into that cloud pillow I've seen advertised.

The spine alignment is perfect and it doesn't bother me with my c-pap (I'm a side sleeper). I read some reviews that said it felt like sleeping on a rock but I think it's just perfect, just enough support (it does have some give to it I found pleasant) and my neck is kink free today. I'm loving the cloud pillow. It does have a chemical odor at first but it dissipates and the cover is washable. I didn't have to fight with it at all as I did with the C-pap countour pillow, I fought with that thing every time I moved. There was just too much padding at the top of it and I didn't get any neck support at all. I don't know if that was from a month's use or just the design but I suspect the latter as it's higher at the top without sufficient dip after what should be the neck support. It didn't work for me at all. It was a waste of money for me.

For $30 the contour cloud pillow was well worth it in my opinion. Instructions say it should last 2 to 3 years before you have to replace it due to compression so I figure I'll get my use out of it. I slept with buckweat hull pillows for years and liked them (though my honeybunny thought they were like sleeping on a rock ~ lol) but the contour cloud is truly my favorite pillow that I've ever had hands down.

Imak Pil-O-Splint

I have had tendonitis since 2004, and my occupational therapist recommended the Pil-O-Splints. Before purchasing this product I used splints of the drugstore variety, but they didn't immobilize the whole hand like the Pil-O-Splint does (instead, they only immobilized the wrists); because of this, when using drugstore splints my hands would clench into fists during the night.

I found these splints to be an enormous relief after the very first night. Not only were they effective and extremely comfortable, but their well-designed fit didn't leave me with uncomfortable pressure marks like my old, drugstore splints did. (I've found that the cheaper splints are easy to over-tighten in an effort to get a good fit. This causes pressure marks, numbness in the middle of the night, etc....).

I was hesitant at first to buy them because of the price, but I'm very glad I did. They're easily machine washed, too (a real plus--splints can get nasty if used regularly!). Highly recommended, especially the adjustable splints. The adjustable still slips on and off like the regular does, but has a velcro wrap that can be tightened for a better fit.

EDIT (1 Dec. 2009): After four years of continuous use, I'm still completely satisfied with the product (and still on my very first pair, at that).

These splints are a decent solution for night-time numbness and wrist pain for people with carpal tunnel problems. These are definitely night-time splints only, since they immobilize not only the wrist, but also the fingers. As night splints, they are the only ones I have found currently on the market that do the job, since night splints must also keep the wrist from moving backwards. Ordinary day-time splints don't work at night (at least for me) because, while they keep your wrists from moving forwards, they let them flop backwards in your sleep, which causes numbness and pain. These splints have slits for your thumb on both sides; that is the slits are for thumbs only, not for fingers--don't sleep with your fingers out the slit opposite your thumb. The reason the thumb slots are on both sides is so that either splint can be used on either hand--you don't need separate right and left handed splints with these. Putting them on the first time by yourself can be challenging, since it is quite difficult to wrap them tight with just one hand. But after you have got the size right, you just pull them straight off your hands without unwrapping them, so you only need assistance that first time. (If you have trouble getting them off, you can get some leverage by sticking one thumb in the top of the thumb slit on the opposite splint and pulling with your thumb).

When I first tried on these splints, I was amazed at how soft and comfortable they were. The inner lining is exceptionally soft. But that didn't last. After about 3 months of daily use and ordinary laundering, the originally soft lining had become pilled. The wraps and Velcro, however, are still secure after a year of use and multiple washings.

What makes these splints less than ideal for me is the fact that they immobilize the fingers as well as the wrists. While this may be indicated for some patients, especially those recovering from surgery, I find that my fingers are always extremely stiff and painful in the mornings after using these splints. With my old splints, I could bend my fingers (but not my wrists) at night, and I never had stiffness or pain in my fingers after wearing them. Another disadvantage of having immobilized fingers as with these splints is that if you have to get up for any reason during the night, you have to take the splints off in order to do so much as push the covers away. Still, these are an effective solution for night-time carpal tunnel symptoms and would probably prove adequate and durable for many people.

I suffer from RSI (repetitive stress injury). In addition to my shoulders, my wrists and hands are also subject to the severe tingling, pain and burning that comes with not keeping my wrists in a straightened position at night. I have tried several different splints with varied results. However, Pil-O-Splint has proven to be the most consistant in proving the support I need. The finger to almost elbow support with a very comfortable inner filling makes this the one I prefer to use at night to support my arms. The only thing I would have to complain about is the wrap-around velcro that secures the whole works. It is not impossible, but it can be hard to secure with one hand without help.

I have had carpal tunnel syndrome for a decade. My doctors neglected to tell me how important it is to wear a splint at night. Finally an orthopedic doc said to wear a splint nightly because the nerves are more active (they aren't sure why) and most folks sleep with their hands curled. I tried several other drug-store elastic types but would find them uncomfortable and take them off. This splint is very soft, warm and has a soft cushion for your palm. The splint has a slit on both the right and left sides for your thumb so you can use it for either hand. There are 2 types of splints, one had an adjustable velcro strap and the other does not. I find the one with the velcro strap easier to use and it does not slip off as easily as I can adjust the strap. I am ordering one for my other hand.

However, I would recommend this product to anyone who keeps being awakened at night because of carpal tunnel syndrome. Two years ago I would have given this product a rave 5 star review, because when we bought two of them then (one for our mattress, one for my son's), they were really wonderful. Very thick and sturdy. They are still holding up well. Recently I bought another to put on our box springs, and it's a completely different product. The vinyl feels entirely different it's thin and ripped in several spots while we were working it over the box springs. They are literally side by side for comparison. I feel tricked. I looked in my buying history to make sure that I bought the very same cover because I was so happy with the two we already had, but the seller has pulled a switcharoo.

Anyhow, this would explain the older 5 star reviews, and the newer 1 star reviews.

Plackers Mouth Guard Grind No More Dental Night Protector, 14 Count

I just tried these for the first time last night and I have to say they are wonderful. I have struggled with several other brands out there (dentek custom comfort dental guard, sleep right slim comfort and sleep right secure comfort) but sleeping with giant mouthpieces in your mouth is not comforable. (The sleep right were smaller, but they were too deep and hurt my gums). I got to the point where I would rather just grind my teeth at night than wear them...(not a good option)

This is finally a small, barely there option that allowed me to sleep without feeling like I had 2 lbs of plastic in my mouth. I didn't wake up with my gums hurting either! I am happy to say that I will be able to wear these comfortably at night and will finally be able to save my teeth and gums!!

*****Update******

After using this product for several months, I have found that they have changed my bite. The product was not long enough to cover my back teeth and also not significantly "squishy" enough to protect. So at night I was grinding down hard enough, that my back teeth were still touching and were producing a jaw-not-aligned properly feeling for the next several days after wearing.

Needless to say, I have moved on and am now using DenTek Comfort Fit NightGuard (which are "squishy" and adjustable along with being comfortable worn either on the top teeth or bottom) My bite has now returned to a normal feeling.

The Plackers "Grind-No-More" guard is the best night protection mouth guard that I have tried to date.

First, it is the least bulky and most comfortable. Plackers are super sleek and light. They are a refined and well made product, free of sharp edges or other uncomfortable features. Unlike an athletic style dental guard, it is barely visible and has minimal impact on one's speech. It does take a leap of faith to believe that it will stay put while sleeping, but stay put it does! After a few nights of sleep, I almost forget that I am wearing it.

Second, it is the most simple. The Plackers guard does not require forming or adjusting. It is of the "bite wing" style, but unlike the SleepRight guard, there is nothing to adjust. In fairness to the SleepRight guard, which is my second favorite, the SleepRight does feel more "secure" and more cushioned, if that is important to you.

Third, Plackers do not have hidden crevasses that make cleaning difficult. Compared to the self molded athletic style guards, there are no irregular bite marks to clean. The Plackers guard is also easier to clean than the SleepRight guard. Ironically, the Plackers "disposable" guards are the easiest to clean and keep using!

Fourth, the Plackers guard is nearly tasteless compared to other guards.

I've been using the first guard for two weeks now and I don't see any material signs of wear. At this rate, I won't be surprised if the box of fourteen lasts for years!

I wore one for the first time last night and was sort of impressed at first... Just the fact that it was still in place in the morning was amazing, and I felt happy I'd done something to protect my teeththen I took it out and got worried. I wore it on my upper teeth, because it was snug and seemed solidly in place (when tested on my lower teeth, the retention band dug into the area below my front teeth and was very uncomfortable). This morning, my teeth feel like they don't sit together in the same way as usual, my jaw is even more tense and tight than it usually is when I've been clenching and grinding all night, and I have a BIG sore on each side of my mouth lined up with where the protector met it. In trying to figure out what went wrong I came across moltencat's review here and it was very helpful. I think it is just the wrong shape for my mouth, in addition to being too flexible for my strong jaw clench and side-to-side grinding pattern. My very back teeth were still able to connect because I bite down so hard, and I think I was grinding the protector INTO my mouth-flesh with my sideways grind, which caused the sores. If you are thinking of trying these, my recommendation is to order their free sample here before buying: It definitely seems like a hit-or-miss sort of thing, like with many "one size fits all" products.

These are OK for the first night, but they quickly wear out. According to the company's own literature, they can be used for "up to three nights". If you do the math, that means you'll have to buy a new pack at least every month-and-a-half, since there are only 14 per pack. Also, the coverage isn't great -these won't help so much if you primarily grind your front teeth, since they only cover your back molars.

After my toddler played with and subsequently lost my custom-made $600 NTI, I needed something to replace it. This product is not it. Wayyyyyy too big for my small mouth. Nothing to keep it in place and, like other reviewers, I noticed after only a minute or two of wear that my jaw had become extremely tense. My husband (normal-sized mouth kind of guy) tried it and had exactly the same issues. We both tried to wear it on the top and bottom teeth with the same results.

Best bet for anyone, IMO, is the NTI. Snug, custom fit, never falls off, tiny, easy to wear, and was slowly teaching my body to stop grinding my teeth. I am devastated to have lost it and will most likely replace it before wasting too much money on these poorly-made stop-gap solutions.

I'd been contemplating purchasing a wi-fi enabled scale for quite some time, having decided to get on a serious weight-loss routine. Up until purchase time, I'd settled on the Fitbit Aria scale...but I'm one of those people who likes to meticulously research purchases, and at the last minute I read that that a lot of the Fitbit scale's integration with web services rely on the use of a Fitbit Tracker. Since I use the Sleep Cycle Alarm Clock app for iOS for sleep tracking and use Wahoo's sensors & app for workout tracking, I've never really felt the need to invest in a Fitbit Tracker. Since going with a Withings scale would mean being able to have my scale link to my RunKeeper account without having to invest in $100 sensor, I gave up on the Aria and saved about $30 in the process they're being sold at $99 instead of the the $129 list price, so I'm guessing it's a holiday promo sale price.

Setup was quick & easy, and was great to be able to complete in under 5 minutes using only my phone. The only thing I wasn't crazy about were these round plastic knobs that attach to the feet of the scale. They come with little circular 3M stick pads that you peel off and jam on the underside of the scale There's no instructions denoting whether or not they NEED to be used, and feel cheap and out of place.

In the few days I've had it, this thing has already been a great motivational tool. I've never really trusted the measurements I got from the mechanical scales at the gym. When you step on the Withings scale, the display shows little tiny arrows to help you place yourself properly and get an accurate measurement. Now I can accurately weigh myself at my convenience, and have that data pushed to RunKeeper and MyFitnessPal.

At a $100 price point, there's no reason not to give this thing a try, especially if you're serious about tracking & meeting health goals.

The scale works EXACTLY as expected.... Not sure what would be causing people to have problems setting it upbut there are some actual hard buttons on the bottom that may need to be adjusted, I had to find that out on my own. Otherwise, it synce with no problems to my iPhone app, and its so nice to be tracking my progress (or lack of ) without having to log in or manually track a thing! Highly recommended.

A buddy of mine raved about these but he was a fitness freak doing triathlons and worried about every gram of weight so I thought they might be too much for me, I Just wanted to get on the right path to some long term weight loss but he showed me the apps supporting it so I decided to get these based on the support for it. I've had them a month and I have lost 6kg but more importantly for me I can remind myself of my goals and progress on my iPhone and Mac anytime when I think i'm going to have that burger. On the technical side it worked first time out of the box although it took a couple of days to recognise my Wife's profile when she used them, but it has been seamless and a real 5 star product for both the regular health conscious user and the athlete doing serious training.

I was originally looking at the older version of this scale because I wanted a good bathroom scale that would also measure the percentage of fat, bone, and water. I thought the Wifi capability was pretty nifty, and I knew I could sync it to some of the other apps. That being said, when I noticed that there was a newer version and for a cheaper price, I didn't read carefully to notice that this scale does not have Bioelectrical impedance analysis. It only weighs and calculates BMI (which in my opinion is a waste of a feature on a scale, because you can calculate your BMI yourself!)

I have noticed that it is not always responsive when I step on it, but if I tap it, it turns on and we are good to go. It is very accurate as far as a scale is concerned. (I just went to the doctors, and it was pretty much the same.)

I found the Bluetooth button a little unresponsive at first, but then, it is Nebraska in the winter, so that may have had to do with the fact that it had been out in the cold for an extended period of time. Once I got the button to respond ( a few minutes,) I had the scale and the app set up in 10 minutes or less.

I'm not sure if I will keep it or not, because I think $100.00 is pretty hefty for a scale just because it has bluetooth and connects to an app. There are a lot of good scales that have BIA for half that price.

I returned this scale after fighting with it for a few weeks. Here were my three main problems with it: 1) it's wireless/bluetooth synching of results with the Withings app are spotty at best, 2) hope you like writing emails, because if you go to their website looking for a customer support phone number you won't find one, and 3) this morning I lost 17 pounds compared to yesterday. So either I've performed a weight loss miracle, or this scale is a piece of worthless garbage.

5-HTP is the greatest supplement ever! I was kind of depressed, leaving my house a mess and way over eathing unhealthy food. A week after starting to use 5-HTP daily, my fog lifted, my entire house is clean now, I eat a fraction of what I used to an no longer have uncontrollable cravings, hardly any cravings at all for that matter. I have lost 10lbs since starting 5-HTP because my diet has changed sooo much. Where I wouldn't touch fish before, I'm now eating salmon daily. I will start by saying. I had NO desire to take this herb. (the reason for the four stars) I am 43, my wife has kept saying i needed to do something about my attitude and mood. I thought things were fine, but, my kids agreed. So my wife asked me to take this stuff. (she read some good stuff about it-and bought it for herself, but found out she can not use it with her Rx's she is on ) Well...I obviously refused to take it... but after her insisting I try it FOR A SOLID WEEK. I decided to do it just to get her to stop bothering me about it. She stated that she was noticing a difference in two days. I did not 'SEE' the results. Well, now, after a week, I am actually 'seeing' it for myself. I find myself noticing, I have not worried or stressed about silly things and I am not binge eating like I had been. I even find myself wanting to go to bed at a decent hour 1230 instead of 2am. Well, I will continue to take until this bottle is done. I will update later in a week or so.

I wanted to try this sleep mask because its soft, fleecy, cozy construction sounded appealing. I found the mask too bulky, making it very difficult to position comfortably for side-sleeping. It also wasn't particularly comfortable even when flat on my back. I had ordered a "Sweet Dreams" mask at the same time which worked much better for me (thinner construction made it easy to use for side-sleeping). I've since purchased the "Twilight" (also a thinner design) which is even more comfortable and room darkening for me.

Best sleep mask I've ever used. Blocks all the light, but eyes are free to open in the large, comfortable pockets. No pressure on eyes, nose or face, which was most important to me. Very soft and fleecy. Soft, cushiony roll surrounds the mask and seals out the light. Most masks leave marks on your face in the morning, but not this one. This mask breathes well and isn't hot or heavy to wear. However, since the air stays slightly humid inside the mask, I don't wake with painfully dry eyes in the morning anymore. Great added benefit. I'm sleeping better than ever. I never realized how much light leakage there was in my bedroom at night until I tried this mask. I just slip it on and I'm off to sleep. The morning sun doesn't wake me, so I can sleep late. I going to buy a second one to rotate while washing the other. I never want to try to sleep without this mask again! It was worth every penny!

What a godsend this mask has been! I am a light sleeper and the summers would see me wake up much earlier than I'd have liked to, because it is light outside. I bought the mask on a whim after reading the reviews here, but now I don't go to sleep without it.

Pros:

1) Very comfortable and a good size the fleece feels good, temperature stays close to body (unlike silk lined masks that feel cool). It's also 'substantial'...i.e. doesn't feel flimsy

2) The adjustable velcro strap doesn't get caught in my hair and stays securely fastened

3) The design is such that your eyes don't press against the fleece there is a 'cup' like area that your eyes rest against, and this allows you to blink comfortably.

4) Really keeps the light out, and does that make a difference to how rested you feel, when you wake up!

Cons:

1) When you turn on your side sometimes, the mask tends to 'give' forward and let a little light in, but I've found it easy to adjust.

All in all, I am very pleased with the product!

I bought one of these for my wife a few years ago when we moved into our new place because she likes to sleep in and our new bedroom has a skylight that floods the room with light in the mornings. I had researched all over the net (as well as tried on many different brands in stores) and found gushing reviews for this sleep mask.

When it arrived, before I wrapped it up I tested it out to see how well it worked. I was astonished: it blocked 100% of the light and it was so comfortable I could barely tell it was there. Due to the design of the padding around the whole perimeter, I could blink and my lashes wouldn't brush up against anything, even when lying on my stomach. I never used sleep masks because I found that any light leaking in or my eyelashes brushing against anything would be irritating and counter-productive for attempting to go to sleep. I could not believe how far this sleep mask surpassed my high expectations!

Like I mentioned, I never wore sleep masks before, but suddenly found myself borrowing hers fairly regularly when she wasn't using it. I ended up ordering my own. This mask blocks light so well that when you wake up and take off the mask, it seems super-bright even with your eyelid shut!

I am a various-position sleeper some nights on my back, some on my sides, as well as on my stomach. I've woken up in any of these positions. I can wear this sleep mask comfortably in any position.

Unfortunately, mine didn't fit as well as hers did. It was just as comfortable, but some light would leak in over by the lower edge near my cheeks. I noticed that the strap on mine was sewn a little higher than on hers, so I added a thin strap harvested from one of those awful airline freebie sleep-masks (hey, you get what you pay for...). The extra strap did the trick and now mine is a 100% light blocker too. So, like another reviewer has mentioned, a good sleep mask fit depends on the shape of your face.

I'd give this product 5 stars if I didn't have to modify mine. Pre-modification it was 4 stars since it is so comfortable and since it only had a sliver of light leaking in. Post-modification, my sleep mask is certainly 5 stars.

I love the strap system; this is one of the few masks that usually stays on throughout the night. The profile of the mask is also thin which makes it comfortable for all types of sleeper. It's even a great mask to pack in your suitcase for road trips. The Escape has no light leakage unlike some other masks. Best of all it doesn't rest on your eyes. It is a pleasure to use for extended periods. I absolutely love this mask and won't sleep without it.

I've been using the Dream Essentials Escape sleeping mask for quite some time now, since January 2011, and now it's August.

What I like most about this sleeping mask is that it is highly durable and well made. I've used two other sleeping masks including the Sweet Dreams countered sleeping mask from Dream Essentials which was good but not as durable or light-blocking as this mask. Durability is key for long term use, and the Escape does just that.

The mask is very large though, and heavy so to say. It is quite a bit of material on the face but does the job well. The convenient adjustable straps are a plus too!

The fabric is high quality and will definitely last you over time. The BEST feature is the contoured shape for the eyes which puts NO pressure on the eyes when you open them at night. Perfect mask for anyone!

I bought this for my mom as a gift. The quality of the item was high. Nice packaging, and includes the carry bag and ear plugs. Well made and will last a long time. I asked my mom for her opinion for the review, and she said to give it three stars and to say it's good for blocking out the light, but is a bit too heavy on the face. Would prefer it to be lighter in weight. She also said it can be uncomfortable when you are lying on your side or stomach. It is not necessarily a bad product it depends on your sleeping habits/positions and personal preference.

I work 3 nights a week and after almost 6 years, it's still difficult for me to sleep during the day. I have been using the Lewis and Clark sleep mask for the last couple years, which is totally great in terms of comfort and it's ability to create total darkness, but was starting to get a little worn out and it also bleeds a blue color all over face and pillow case when you go to bed with wet hair...the latter is really frustrating, but I have learned to just buy blue pillow cases!

I purchased the Dream Essentials sleep mask a few days ago and was surprised by its rigidity. I think some people must be sensitive to fabric touching their eyes, which makes this product a decent candidate for those folks. I generally sleep with my eyes completely closed and would rather have material touching my eye lids than a sleep mask that doesn't stay in one place and can't shift with the movements of my body as I sleep. The velcro also got stuck in my hair all night because it kept falling down toward my neck, despite how tight I would try to tie it. The rigid material gave me an intense headache if I tried to sleep on my side or even turn my head to the side! You can't sleep on your side with this product because the material digs into the side of the head, which also caused a bit of bulging, leaving open spaces where light could seep in.

If you are a consistent back sleeper this product might work for you. I don't recommend this product for anyone who is a light sleeper, toss and turners, or sensitive to harsh contours of face masks on the skin.
