I've always been hesitant to try something different for sleep. I've been taking a generic brand of otc sleeping pills for years and besides feeling a bit "slow" upon waking, they've been doing the job in putting to sleep quickly. I figured I can't take these forever so I looked into an alternate choice that might be more natural and safer...I came across Melatonin and 5-HTP Bulk Powder 10 Grams (5-HTP works great with Melatonin). And I gotta say, I am so glad I made the switch.

So let's get started, first you need to test your tolerance with Melatonin. Don't be scared of this stuff, it's not a prescription but can be easily abused if not used right.

What I would do first is cut a pill in half for your first night. You might be sensitive! You should be able to wake up with no problem with your alarm clock and without feeling groggy. Slowly up the dose if you need more but I would suggest not going over 9mg. Always remember, if you don't need it, don't take it! This is a sleep aid for days/nights you are restless. I've used Melatonin daily for 8 years! Excessive, obviously, but no side effects apart from probably being somewhat addicted to it. But is it bad to be addicted to a good thing?

Anyway, this particual product does NOTHING for me. It's as if it is placebo?! Shrug. I'm back to my old brand, which still works wonderfully (this one was cheaper due to 100% bonus, so I gave it a shot).

I am very impressed with Deep Sleep. After taking Lunesta and Ambien CR for a year or two and noticing that my hair is thinning, I made a commitment to get off these drugs although lord knows they have given me the best sleep of my life (especially after losing my mom in Sept 2011). At any rate, I will admit I had a big fear about going off those drugs because it seemed like I just couldn't sleep without them. I went cold turkey (I know this is not recommended, but I didn't want to take another pill after researching and reading that it is probably the culprit in my thinning hair issue)and just could not sleep for days on end. Finally, I just couldn't take it anymore so I went searching in the health food stores and I bought over $300 worth of stuff to try. I only bought from places where I could get a refund when I open the product, because after previous attempts with herbs and teas (By the way, teas suck! they actually kept me up by making me go to the bathroom all night ;-( I knew it was going to be challenging to find something that works since I was taking those strong drugs. For example, although I have tried many energy related supplements, I have not found one that works for me as a 150lb 5'6 female (I mean I can take them and don't feel a thing) whereas they give my body building brother of 6'1 225lbs energy for days. Truth is some work and some don't and depending on how your body responds, that's really the only way you'll know.

Unfortunately, these pills no longer work for me :-( I believe my body got immune to them so they stopped working about 2 months after I wrote this review. I am currently taking two of Swanson sleep products and for several months, they have been consistent at making me go to sleep at night. I pray that they won't stop working like these did.

After many years of significant sleep issues, and all that goes along with that, I finally went to see an herbalist. She recommended Deep Sleep and gave me some samples to try. I was amazed. I can stay awake through almost anything have always been hypervigilant and have even stayed awake all night several times. There has never been one issue or an event that caused this; it just worsened as I got older and then a couple of years ago the anxiety and panic attacks started.

My anxiety is usually related to work but it has been a very tough issue for me. I have tried everything and have always been otherwise very happy (lucky there). Ambien works and so does Xanax. I just got tired of having to see my doctor every 4 weeks and dealing with his inability to understand that this is something I have really worked to overcome on my own for decades now. He seemed to see this sleep issue as a character flaw and I felt judged. So I went to see the herbalist looking for a permanent course of action tht did not involve any addictive substances. Deep Sleep is a great product and I am not over-stating when I say it has changed my life. I now sleep every night. There is no "hangover". I have the energy and focus to enjoy my life! My Ambien had become less reliable, and so some nights I did not sleep well. By using Deep Sleep in addition to the Ambien I am able to sleep soundly. And it is much more cost effective to get Deep Sleep from Amazon than to get it at retail price. I am working on stopping the Ambien gradually and using the Deep Sleep only. I think that is possible.

i've had long-standing issues with insomnia & poor sleep. i've been searching for years for a product that would be strong enough to get me to sleep, and keep me asleep, without making the next day a hung-over mess.

this product did almost nothing for me. i took it as the package recommends for about a week. i didn't experience any improvement. i doubled up the dose, and stayed with that for awhile. the higher dose left me a little more relaxed about an hour after taking it...but not enough to where i could sleep.

i suppose i could have increased the dose again, as there aren't high enough amounts of any one ingredient to worry much about overdosing, but at that rate, this product would no longer be cost effective.

i'm glad so many people have gotten help from this, but i'm definitely disappointed that it didn't work for me.

I often have trouble falling asleep, and even more trouble staying asleep over 6 hours. Stress, staying up late or working on the computer before going to sleep can cause insomnia for me. I have benefited in the past from melatonin in the 300mcg to 1mg range as an aid against frequent insomnia. I had been using LifeExtension 750mcg 6 hour time release melatonin capsules to good effect but wanted to get a bit more sleep, so I thought to up the ante & use the 1mg melatonin Natrol 8 hour tablets. It was like drinking strong coffee at midnight. Airline Sleep Mask

I've been a regular user of whey protein powder and was looking for a substitute as I've been reducing dairy consumption overall. I primarily add protein powder to breakfast shakes. The major complaint I've had with most of the powders I've tried is the taste or the aftertaste, which range from chalky to artificially sweet to metallic. I tried soy and egg-white powders and didn't like either for various reasons. I considered hemp but wasn't impressed with the price or the sugar content of the brands available at my local store, especially when I noticed this pumpkin seed protein powder sitting on the shelf next to the hemp powders, offering more protein per scoop at a lower price point. I decided to give this product a try and have been pleasantly surprised. The price is right: there are 10 g of protein per "scoop" (the scoop they include in the canister equals about a tablespoon). I double the serving to get 20g of protein, which comes out to about 70 cents per serving. I also like that this product is low in fat and sugars, and contains all the essential fatty acids. The dry powder has a pleasant aroma (reminiscent of mango to my nose) but there is virtually no flavor when this is mixed into other foods. No nasty aftertaste to overpower the fruit and peanut butter in my morning shake. I added it to oatmeal one morning and noticed a very slight nutty flavor in the background, but the flavor of oatmeal remained dominant. The taste (or relative lack thereof) is the major reason I'll be buying this again. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a mild tasting protein powder at a reasonable price.

I've done three stints of Vega, one full stint of Garden of Life Raw Meal and Raw Protein, rice protein, and various samples of proteins along the way but I come back to Pumpkin Seed Protein Powder because of it's efficiency, it's taste, it's texture and it's cost.

The others were full of stevia or other additives, or the texture was like drinking either sludge or chalk powder.

I can't say enough good things about Pumpkin Protein Seed Powder either you are protein-ing up for more muscle, or strength, or overall health this is the best. I highly recommend it!! Plus, no allergens!! WHOOP!!

This stuff is amazing! I mix it into oatmeal and smoothies. The taste is not as potent as many other protein powders out there, so it doesn't overwhelm whatever you're adding it to. It also doesn't make you gassy, like whey can, and beats soy protein because really, who needs to add any more soy to their diet than you already get in practically everything these days. I think it also tastes much better than hemp protein, which can be really chalky. Also, it's vegan. I just spoke with the company and the product is raw. It is defatted by pressing the seeds and they sell the oil separately. Similar to hemp powder but 1.5 scoops as opposed to around 4 is needed and the taste is a bit lighter. There are 40 servings instead of most shakes which have 15-30 and it's only 20 bucks. Nice long scoop comes with it.Saving that one. BPA free. 1g fat, 1.5g carb, 9.5g protein. I would have given it 5 stars if it was pure powder but this is a real food product and I wouldn't want it altered.

In June 2012 I purchased an Inogen One oxygen concentrator from Inogen on the recommendation of my physician, Despite the fact that Inogen was told that the unit was to be used for home purposes (not travel), I was strongly advised to purchase a second battery at a cost of $495,00, which I regrettably did. When I realized that the unit came with it's own backup battery I tried to return the spare battery, only to be advised that it could not be returned, despite the fact that the package had not been opened.

I contacted American Express through which I had purchased the oxygen concentrator and spare battery; and try as they would the company advised that all sales were final. This fact was never pointed out to me and my suggestion is that before dealing with Inogen One any prospective purchaser should consider very seriously the consequences of the extremely strong unnecessary sales pitch for the purchase of this product and it's ancillary attachments.

Despite the run-around by the company/agent, for the past two months, the battery was returned to the Inogen agent some four weeks ago, on the understanding that there would be a $99.00 restocking fee. However in a followup telephone call today I was advised that the battery could not be returned and they were sending it back to me.

Get all your facts before you consider buying this product.

While one gentleman tried to return his extra battery, I strongly recommend 1 if not 2 spares be obtained. If you travel much by air or use it while getting around in a wheelchair, running out of power is a big concern. You can take this unit on planes, being that it is FAA certified. But they also recommend you have enough power for at least 150% of the time of you flight. You must add in the travel time from home to the airport, and the same at your final destination, plus any unexpected delays. My wife uses one all the time in the house while in a wheelchair ( no tubing to tangle with running around the house) and we easily rotate among 3 batteries during a normal day. New they last about 8 hrs, but over 1-2 years that will decrease.

I purchased one of these for my Dad and he has used it for the last 6 months and it's worked FLAWLESSLY. The unit is extremely light and easy to carry. In fact, I was shocked at how light and tiny it was when I unboxed it. It's amazingly simple to operate and my Dad had no problem using it without even reading the manual. The time duration of a battery charge is exactly as claimed maybe a little better but it depends of course, which flow setting you are using. With regards to any negatives or improvements, battery life and cost could always be better especially cost. The batteries seem a little pricey but without knowing exactly what's inside it's hard to say if the price is appropriate or over priced. Also, while the unit is fairly quiet, it does make constant clicks and puffs. While all the comparison charts show it to be one of the most quiet on the market more quiet is better. Perhaps the new G3 addresses these areas but then it's between $500 and $1000 more money!

With regards to service and support, we've had several questions since buying it and every question we've had has been addressed by Inogen promptly, politely, and quickly. Their advice and answers have always addressed our needs. One thing they told us prior to buying the unit is that while it's fine to use the unit at home and it's even capable of being used full-time and some of their customer do this however, they've optimized the unit for portability (as opposed to full-time home use) and they recommend that you buy a system that is more tailored to constant home use and not try and shoe horn a portable unit of any brand into the role of a larger, home oriented unit.

Anyway, great unit, great service and competitive price. Definitely would buy again and will buy one in the future when/if needed.

Lavender Filled Eye Cover Sleeping Mask By Nature Creation

At first I loved the fresh, strong smell and the fact that it's a cold pack as well, but I found out after only a couple hours of use that the lavender bits inside can stick through the material! It's actually painful to squeeze it and it doesn't feel good sticking into your eyes either. It's possible I got a defective mask somehow, but it really does just seem like the size of the bits of lavender is such that they can poke through the mask fabric. Would not recommend.

Baby Briefcase Baby Paperwork Organizer, Mint/Periwinkle

I'm a new mom with a 2 month old. I purchased this when my baby was a month old and it's very useful. I'm a practical person and didn't want to purchase it initially because it does seem like a "plastic file folder" that you can get at an office supply store. However, I realized that I'm way to busy to go to a supply store, create the labels, and decide how to organize my files. The usefulness of this briefcase is that it does it all for you.

Is it worth the price? Well, how much is your time worth? For some, it's a cheap piece of plastic (which it is) and to me, it's a useful time-saver. It saved time not only upfront, but quickly helped me organize discharge papers, outstanding bills, her vaccination records, etc. When I go to the pediatrician, I always have everything with me. I don't have to rifle through a messy folder or go hunting throughout the house.

I say buy it if you want to be organized without having to create the labels yourself. It should be less than $10, but it isn't, so you have to decide how badly you want to save time and effort.

This makes a nice gift for new parents, but when I saw the baby briefcase, I was disappointed in the overall quality for the price that I had paid. It's simply a plastic see-through briefcase with tabbed plastic folders and labels. The recipients really appreciated the usefulness of the organizer, but I would have liked it to be more impressive. Cute and useful, but slightly overpriced.

I think this product is a great idea... However I think I would change some things about it if I could. I think they should not put any titles on the tabs so that you can choose what all of the files are for (currently you can write the tab titles for half of them). Secondly, I think that the case should be much deeper so that when you put things in the files they still fit really well.

I have suffered through chronic insomnia my entire life. I hate most over the counter sleeping pills because they make me feel groggy the next day, and other herbal remedies I've tried don't work. Alteril is wonderful. I have been taking it nearly every night for a year, and it still works well, without making me feel tired the next day. It does give me vivid dreams at times, right as I'm falling asleep, but they aren't disturbing. I would, and have, recommended this to friends.

irst, not everything works for everyone so some will not like it. Second, it's common sense to not mix meds and to check what side affects can be before taking anything. You can die from an OD of Vitamins. Everything affects everyone differently. Also never start with a full dose (unless prescribed by a doctor and even they tell you to stop for certain side affects); work your way up. Now for the review...

I've taken this for a while now off and on for those times when I'm stressed or can't fall asleep. It works fine for me. It also makes me a bit queasy if I try to stay up past the 1hr mark. I tested this and it seems it a side affect meant to force you to sleep before that point. I do end up a little groggy if I didn't have a full 8hrs and woke up before.

I have also taken ZMA which is mostly Zinc. This can't be taken with certain meds (as anything else since you can't take vitamins with some meds). It works fine and I sometime do a half dose of each together. Which depending on my state can be better.

In general, avoid drinking liquids an hour before bed. Don't eat for 2 hours before bed. Go to bed hungry (you don't want to be stuffed or starving; leave room for desert). Avoid sugars, chocolate, vitamin C a few hours before bedtime. Cut back on the coffee and drink it early and not on an empty stomach. Warm milk with honey, hot herbal (no caffeine) tea, as well as yogurt can help. Avoid TV, computers and video games at least an hour before as it overstimulates the brain and the senses. Try reading a book instead. Lighting also plays a role, dimmed lights and darkness start the body into night mode. Also, if taking allergy meds (most such as Zyrtec which can make you drowsy), take it at night. This way it's in your system, you're on a schedule and the effects helps you sleep.

I have severe insomnia...most of the time I dont fall asleep until two or three in the morning. I have used this for about a week...and find that if I take it early evening..about six or so...I do start to feel sleepy about 11PM. I think it works pretty good...without using addicting sleep aids such as Lunesta or Ambian...

So I would recommend this...give it a try it might work for you too. As I said I have to take this about four hours earlier than recomended to get the best results.

I got this for my dad as he had really hard toenails. I'd wash his feet first and let them soak for a while. Then dry them really well and put the Toenail Soft on. What a difference the next morning. You just have to keep up the treatments on a regular basis. Put it on before you go out in the morning, maybe again during the day and especially before bed!

eyeSlices Soothing Cooling Reusable Eye Gel Pads

Recommend going to the eye slices website to get more info on this product. The site states the product is reusable only up to 10 times and it will dehydrate over time w/out the ability to rehydrate. It also says you have to use the product w/in 2 weeks of opening. I'm sure the product is good, but this is important info to know prior to purchase. Now that I know all the limitations....I will NOT be buying this product.

At first I was doubting about this item until I used it.

I work all day long looking at the monitor and my eyes get very red, dry and tired. I gave the eye slices a try and surprisingly it was amazing how soothing my eyes felt with the gels as soon as I lay them on my eyes.

They really work, but you have to used them within two weeks since they will dry after opening. I am ok with this since I do not like to leave any product open and laying around for too long, specially if they are for my eyes.

I found out that they are used in high end Spa specially in Vegas. That is great that now available online.

Cosmos ® Black Remedy Heat Sensitive Memory Foam Sleep Mask + Cosmos Cable Tie

I really wanted to like this. No light gets through this mask and it fits very nicely to the shape of my face if I'm laying on my back. The velour fabric also feels very nice. The problem is that this mask is very thick and the memory foam is not very pliable. If you lay on your side, the mask seems to have very little give. I also found the mask to retain a lot of heat and made my whole head hot.

This thing is big and black and soft. It does a good job of keeping the light out, but it is pretty big, so anything other than laying on your back can be uncomfortable. I was expecting a more gel like feel around the eyes. Instead it is just the same material as the rest of the mask. I don't know what the "heat sensitive" memory foam is referring to. It all just seems like regular material to me. It works well enough for the price, and I like it better than the thin mask I bought from Walgreens a few years ago. Did I mention it was big?

I've tried many different sleep masks over the past few years, but most fail to last more than six months. Either the material begins to wear, or the elastic headband stretches so much as to be useless.

This is different. The Cosmos mask is a thick, padded mask with a nose bridge and velcro strap. The memory foam fits the contours of your face, with the nose bridge keeping it from sliding down your nose. The velcro has been very tough, and I don't see myself needing to replace it for quite some time. Further, this mask fits perfectly with my nasal pillow CPAP mask, which means I can finally get a decent night's sleep without my apnea waking me up every few hours. However, this obviously would not work with the full "cup" style masks which fit over top of your nose, or nose and mouth; the nose bridge would not sit right on those.

For me, this is the perfect mask for a great night's sleep.

I have practiced chiropractic for 28 years and truly wished I had invented the Real Ease. I personally use the device and I have recommended it for practically all of my patients for the last 5 years. At first it may not feel "good" for the first few sessions, but that doesn't concern me. I detest when snake oil salesmen prey on people who are in pain and desperately seeking help and remedies. That's what this piece of junk is about. From the photos, it looks as if there's some amazing stretching going on, but in truth, the whole thing is made wrong for that. The arch isn't even padded where it should be to coax my "military" neck into a healthy curve. I have neck injuries resulting in marathon migraines. I sometimes grasp at straws. I'm going to return this, even though I'll have to pay postage simply because I don't want it in my house, and I don't want this company to profit from me. It doesn't support as much as a rolled up pillow under the back of the neck, and it's unsteady.

I love ordering from Amazon.com, and I buy a lot from them, but the reviews are misleading because only the positive ones are deemed as "helpful". I guess we all want to be encouraged when we're shopping. I'm sorry I can't be encouraging about this one.
