I often have trouble falling asleep, and even more trouble staying asleep over 6 hours. Stress, staying up late or working on the computer before going to sleep can cause insomnia for me. By this point, I am sleeping 7-8 hours a night. Of course, since Melatonin is produced naturally by the body, you can keep taking it for much longer periods if necessary. I have benefited in the past from melatonin in the 300mcg to 1mg range as an aid against frequent insomnia. I had been using LifeExtension 750mcg 6 hour time release melatonin capsules to good effect but wanted to get a bit more sleep, so I thought to up the ante & use the 1mg melatonin Natrol 8 hour tablets.
