This product was good while it lasted, which wasn't very long--maybe 3-4 months, using it about 2-3 times a week. I too had a seam split around the nose area that caused mushy gel beads to leak out. I wrote the company and was told "We have tested the product to be used at least 15 20 times, however, I personally have used mine well over 30 times. If you aren't seeing that turn around in the product, please return it to the facility where you purchased it for a replacement."

15-20 times? Why doesn't it indicate that in the description? I thought this would have more permanence than that.

Actually, this is one of the best eye masks that I have ever owned. The construction can come off a little cheap/flimsy (at first, I thought I was going to seriously dislike this mask). Still, I put it in the freezer and tried it out the next day. Ummm... I wasn't exactly comfy with freezing my eyeballs; but after a short warmup, this mask was perfect. Flexible enough to get in there and do the job (unlike some I've tried), and the cooling effect lasted for quite a while. The only downside for me, is the liquid inside turning to ice crystals... nothing at all to do with how effective it is, but it makes me think of freezer frost.

i have two of these eye masks. i keep one in the freezer while using the other, and when it eventually gets warmi grab the other.

the frozen mask can be really, really cold on your eyes, so sometimes i keep them both in the fridge. just switch out when they warm.

the pink eye mask is a better version, it has a thicker strap and can be heated. that i give 5 stars.

overall, i give it 4 stars because it serves its purpose relieving headaches, sinus pain, and whatnot. missing a star because of the thin strap and it's the only one you can't heat because there are metal tabs keeping the head band attached. if you felt like removing the strap with the metal, you can heat it. but, i recommend just getting the pink one for heat therapy.

I bought this hoping to finally find a nice eye mask that would last me a while. When I got this in the mail I was super excited, the plastic didn't feel too cheep, the little gel balls inside were interesting, and not hard at all. Unfortunately this mask only lasted about 4 nights. I never fell asleep with this on, I always took it off before I fell asleep, but on the 5th night of using it, I felt some liquid on my face, and to my surprise it had already broken :(

This product is getting 2 stars because of how nice it was before it broke.

In my last eye exam I was told that my meibomian glands (basically automatic oilers for the eyelids) are clogged. Some days I awake with my eyes so dry that I can't seem to blink and it takes several minutes to get them working. Heat was suggested as a way to get the oil flowing. I've been very pleased with this mask, though I've only used it a few times, it really does the trick. After about 5 or 6 minutes the eyes are working well, better than I'm able to get them to work without the heat. If the mask leaks in a few weeks as some reviewers have claimed, I'll update this review. I find that 9 seconds in the microwave is enough to heat it about right. The manufacturer says never heat in the microwave for more than 15 seconds. I don't use the strap.

Update I've used this for about 6 months now and I noticed that when the pouch is heated up that there seems to be more air in it than when it was new. Finally, I noticed a low squeak from it when it was just out of the microwave. That relieved the pressure and it rests more comfortably on my eyes now. I've NOT noticed any leaks of anything wet coming from it and it does not seem to have a hole in it when it is cool. So, I guess that it only has than little hole when it is warm and pliable. I do treat it with respect, still it seems to be be sealed up good when it is cold, so there is every any mess.

I use 2 pillows to sleep on. I have always used a small travel pillow on top of the regular one. My biggest complaint was my head was always hot and would get sweaty. After purchasing the travel pillow, the first week without using a pillow case on it, I slept great; no hot or sweaty head and no waking up with a headache. I read the intructions where it said that we should use a COTTON pillowcase. I tried that for 3 weeks but did not have the relief I did the first week without the pillow case on. I guess I will continue without the pillow case and just have to wash it alot. Other than this issue the pillow does all the great things the commercial states it does. Maybe somewhere down the line they will make a pillowcase to help us HOT SLEEPERS out.

This is a nice pillow. For six bucks it is something that would be well received. But it is typical of the high-energy hucksters who get on the air and earnestly tout the "benefits" of something that has no more chance of solving the problems it claims to solve, and then legitimizing the product with a high price. The only way this pillow is worth a hundred bucks is if it came with four twenty dollar bills (and probably a ten also) stuffed into the pillow case. Nice try. The inventor wins the award for the best "sincere" presentation in the history of infomercials.

This is not your typical pillow. Its just different. When i got it i was surprised at the size of it. It seemed small. And the directions seemed weird. Put it in the dryer? Well, i did, and even though it seemed small, in use it is perfect. Chillow Comfort Device

I ADORE the Chillow. I'm pregnant and constantly hot at night... I got this in my 8th month but I wish I'd gotten it sooner! To the reviewer who put it in the freezer, the directions very clearly say NOT to do this, as it damages the integrity of the product. Now, there are a few drawbacks to the Chillow that are worth mentioning:

1) The exact spot you're sleeping on "loses its cool" after about an hour, but that gives you plenty of time to fall asleep. If you wake up in the middle of the night, just move your head over a few inches into a cool spot, no problem. By morning the whole thing is room temperature, but that doesn't really matter -it's cold again at night when you need it to be.

2) I use mine inside the pillowcase and the thing weighs a TON! Normally I flip my pillow around a lot at night and this would be almost impossible with the Chillow inside, but since the Chillow makes the pillow so nice and comfy and cool, I don't need to flip my pillow any more. Moot point.

3) I found the "set up" of the Chillow a bit of a drag. I thought I would open the box, put it in my pillowcase and be ready to go, but the process of filling it and getting the air out to create a vacuum is a bit laborious. The directions also say you may have to do it every few weeks. It's still a small price to pay in my opinion.

Having said all that, I would still buy this product again in an instant. (And it may become my new gift to all pregnant women!) In fact, even if it broke tomorrow I'd still buy another one. My nights have become SO much more restful, and that's priceless!

This is the second Chillow I'm ordering. My first one did develop a leak only because I've used it every night for a year and a half. I am addicted to this device. It's real cool when you first lay your head down, but then throughout the night it never goes above your body temperature so you do sleep really sound. Since I've been without mine, I've been waking up and flipping the pillow again. It does take a little getting used to but once you do, oh boy.

I got the Chillow because I've always liked a cold pillow. It does feel VERY good, nice & cold. It doesn't stay cold all night in the same spot; You still have to turn your pillow around during the night to get the "cold spot". If you are one who scrunches up your pillow, I don't think it would work for you. You have to leave your pillow flat. Also, it makes the pillow very heavy, because the Chillow is filled with water. This doesn't really matter, except when you're making the bed, the pillow is much heavier than normal. Overall, though, I am very happy with the Chillow and it does help relieve my hot flashes.

I bought this for my husband because my body heat tends to make him too hot at night. I would definitely buy this product again, but hopefully they will continue to improve on it.

Pros:

It is wonderfully cool in the beginning, almost too cool if your pillow case isn't thick enough. You can use it under your head or neck, between your thighs, etc. wherever you feel the warmest. Or save it for the middle of the night when you wake up hot.

By the time it starts to lose it's coolness, most likely you'll have already fallen asleep. Not everyone uses it while sleeping. It would be great for sunburns.

No refrigeration or batteries required, you can just keep it beside your bed or in your pillow case ready to go.

Soft foam insert is comfortable to lay on.

Cons:

It does lose it's coolness after some time, warming to your body temperature, but it's still more effective than an ice pack, cool wash cloth, fan, etc. To re-cool just keep it away from your body for a few hours.

It's heavy. You have to pour water into it to soak the foam insert in order to activate the cooling feature (a one-time activity). Not such a big deal though because you usually leave it in one place and just lay on it.

After a few nights of sleeping on it, the foam insert can start to bunch up inside the Chillow and it's hard to lay it flat again because there is just a quarter-sized opening to it. I end up having to manipulate it from the outside to get it flat again. This probably also depends on how much you toss and turn when you sleep though.

In spite of the cons, my husband has used the Chillow every night since I gave it to him and has had a much easier time falling asleep. Given the price, I'd still recommend it because I think the pros outweigh the cons and I haven't found anything as effective.

The previous reviewer gave this item a trash rating. I love this thing. In the summertime, heck, even in the cool Southern California winter months, I have a problem with hot feet at night. Before the chillow, my attempts at cooling down my feet with wet washcloths, foot creme and electric fans were for nought. Now, I just place those puppies directly atop a bare chillow. Voila! Instant comfort and a full night's sleep.

If the chillow gets deformed, simply unplug the opening, let a little air inside, then smooth it out and replug. I'm ordering a second one so that I can encase my feet inside a Chillow sandwich on the hottest nights.

I have read from a lot of people saying it doesn't leave you groggy but if I take more than half a teaspoon I find it makes me that way. After reading the few reviews here I figured that I should write one. This is a great product that helps you to sleep. It is not a strong side effect causing sleep aid like most over the counter products. Melatonin is natural to the body and will not cause you to be drowsy the next day. My wife and I love this stuff and take anywhere from a quarter to a full dropper depending upon how much help we need. Another thing that is important to know when taking any natural supplements is that you should keep it in your mouth, preferably under tongue, for a few mintues to increase the effectiveness. Douglas is a good brand, but i have not found this product to be effective and it's rather expensive. Sublingual doesn't seem to be any improvement on the relatively cheap Natural Bounty 3mg oral tablets i found at my grocery store while i waited for these to arrive, even if i take enough to make up the dosage difference (which, absorbed sublingually, should be more efficient). Would not recommend unless for some reason you can't take the oral version. I malabsorb nutrients and medications on top of everything, and still prefer my cheap orals.

I've been using this for over a year on a daily basis. It's not a miracle potion but I have noticed that my skin is smoother, clearer and that wrinkles are less evident. It does nothing though for deep wrinkles and for that reason I feel the claims are a bit deceptive as a "deep set wrinkle repair cream". For the price however I think it does quite a good job of improving the overall appearance of my skin. I'm 63 so I don't have huge expectations of any cream.

Alex Chiu Immortality Magnetic Rings

A friend gave me a set of these rings after trying them, then later gave me the magnets that go on your feet. As I understand it the polarity of each magnet (two magnets on each ring) have to be set in a certain way. Well first off the plastic ring is cheap and uncomfortable. During the night if your hands cross you end up with the magnets slipping out of the holder and sticking on one of the magnets on the other hand or perhaps both magnets wind up on the other finger making it four magnets on one hand. I never slept a night when this didn't happen so I super glued the rings in guess what the super glue didn't hold them in so I tossed them away. I also tried the foot magnets as well. Very uncomfortable and will not stay on feet. I am not a disbeliever that magnetism could be used to your benefit in some way after all, we all have magnetic energy in and around our body but I don't think these cheap rings are the answer. They are really not worth the price.

I read about these in Kevin Trudeau's book, and thought I would give them a try. I do "feel" something happening which I did not feel anything at first but I have not lost a lot of weight using them. They do seem to be helping with "chi" as I notice the days when I've worn them the night before seem to go much easier and better for me. They are "clunky" feeling on the hand, and the stronger ones can pull a magnet out they are so strong if you put your hands too close together. I would recommend starting with the weaker ones first.

Well, yes. I don't know exactly why, or if they do anything for anti-aging, but they do something.

I practice Chi Gong and Tai Chi, and for a long time it was just a physical excerise. With prolonged practice it felt as if there was a static charge sweeping through my body. It really changed my view of these practices.

Anyway, the feeling though my body was like a mix of a static electricity charge and a gentle breeze flowing though me. So I really dug the Chi stuff. On a whim I ordered the rings and tried them. It was very interesting.

After wearing them at night for a few weeks, when I tried basic Chi Gong stances my hands and wrists felt extremely charged; as if I was doing Chi work for like 20 minutes. That felt good, but what I found really interesting was when I wore them incorrectly. If I placed them upside down/reverse I would feel sick after about 30 minutes. Like flu symptoms, but after taking off the rings the feeling subsided.

Alex Chiu sells both the white rings, and the black neodymium rings. Bad idea to start with the black rings if you have a lot of blockages in your qi (including tumors, gallstones, scar tissue, etc). I feel like you need to start with these white rings and work up to the black rings if that's the case. Healthy people can jump right in and start using the black Neo rings right away, but if you're sick, I'd go after these rings, as well as Alex's Chi Flush and/or Gorgeouspil.

Breathe Right Advanced Nasal Strips, 44 Count

I have been a fan of Breathe Right for a few years now. I love this product idea, and especially the Breathe Right brand. These work much better than some of the "store brands" I have tried, hands down.

There are two versions of the updated "better" Breathe Right strips. The "Advanced" and the "Extra." Each provides a slightly different offering. I happen to like both, although I tend to lean towards the "Extra" more often than this "Advanced," but that does not discount the concept of this one.

The "Advanced" version here has two split sections of strip on each nostril, to ensure a proper opening lift of the nostrils, allowing for more air flow. The downside to "Advanced" is that if your skin is oily at all, these strips will not stay on your nose, and will peel off rather quickly. My recommendation is to make sure your face is washed and dried thoroughly before applying. Also, make sure you know the exact placement, as you want to handle the product as little as possible, to avoid ruining the sticky application. What makes the "Extra" version better, is its adhesive properties much stronger, and tighter of a fit. However, this may also be a detriment for some, as it really tugs on the skin when removing it in the morning. And I could see some people having a minor allergic reaction, or better stated, some skin reactions to having such a strong adhesive tugging on their sensitive nostril skin all night.

Given the options, for most, the "Advanced" Breathe Right strips will provide wonderful comfort and breathing ability. When used properly it really does provide for a good night's rest. This may not apply to every single person, as we are all different, but for the majority it is a great sleep and breathing aid. And sometimes I've just worn them around the house during the day if I felt a bit stuffed up. Very helpful for that too.

Stickiness wears off sometimes in the night if my face isn't clean, it's summer-hot and I'm sweating, or if I toss and turn too much.

On occasion it's uncomfortable, but rarely. One star ding total for all the minor issues I have. All in all, great product.

They do require a little more attention to put on since, unlike regular Breathe Right Strips, there is a top and bottom (and the difference between the two is subtle) but when properly applied (which means you've washed your face so they can adhere effectively and you place them at the correct height and level on your nose) you'll be rewarded with much clearer nasal inhalation, which for me means no snoring, a happier wife, and restful sleep for both of us. I haven't had any issues noted by others with the adhesive being too strong. It's just right for me and not uncomfortable to remove.

I got a sample of the Breathe Right Advanced strips and I loved them, so much that I bought a huge box (44 count) of them. After about a week of use, when I went to take off my breathe right strip it RIPPED THE SKIN OFF OF MY NOSE! I started with Coenzyme Q10 and started noticing an improvement in sleep and deep breathing (I have asthma) almost immediately! Upon further research, it sounded like Ubiquinol was a better option since it is absorbed better. I was still sleeping great on it dreaming more and waking up more refreshed but I started noticing my asthma seemed to be getting worse. I was having a harder time getting deep breaths and I started wondering whether I was having a reaction to it. But I wasn't having any other symptoms that I knew of, so I was unsure. Plus I take other supplements without any problem. I stopped for a couple days and then tried again and an hour and a half later had a hive show up on my neck! My throat also felt like it was getting tighter. This pretty much proved to me that I was having an allergic reaction. I emailed a doctor who had a lot of experience with Coq10 studies to get their opinion and they said it was possible I was having a late onset allergic reaction (although now that I think about it, the reaction started almost right away just not strong enough to be obvious) and if I was, to switch back to the Coenzyme Q10 Ubiquinone since it's made differently. I am VERY happy with Coenzyme Q10 in general along with Magnesium it's completely stopped my heart palpitations and the difference in sleep is awesome. I used to sleep at least 9 hours a night and still feel sleepy by late afternoon/early evening. Now my sleep must be more effective because I'm not getting sleepy that early and never need weekend afternoon naps anymore. I'm grateful that I can switch back to the Ubiquinone and still get the positive effects. Since most reviews on Ubiquinol are really good (and rightfully so for people who aren't allergic) I wanted to give a review about my reaction for any others who might be wondering if they are experiencing something similar.

The good thing about this product is that I could feel it working. It definitely made a different for me in the amount of energy I had.

However, the bad thing was that it was *too much* energy. I felt gittery, anxious, and hyperfocused. It could be that I got the 100mg kind. It also could be that I am taking other prescribed medications. Or maybe it was both. Still, though, with so many studies showing how great this stuff is for you, I am tempted to buy the 50mg to see how it is. When I popped the pills and squeezed out half, I seemed to feel none of those bad symptoms I described. I will probably buy some more when I can afford it!
