Elasto Gel Hot / Cold Sinus Mask

Elasto Gel Hot / Cold Sinus MaskI bought this after researching eye masks for a while. I get a lot of eyestrain for using the computer mostly, but they turn into migraines or just regular headaches. So I wanted something that didn't just block out any light, but also cooled and was comfortable. I'd say this is the most comfortable mask I've ever tried (Probably tried somewhere around 5 masks). Because its made of gel and not like sand, its extremely comfy on your face. It is also a bit oversized so that it covers more of your face (almost temples) far more than any of the other ones I've tried.

One thing of note though as previous reviewers also note, is that it only stays cold for about 20-30 minutes. Thats not even long enough for excedrin to kick in before taking it off. Since it has gel in the center, I think it turns into an insulator of the heat that your head has, and becomes warm after the cold wears off. It leaves you feeling kind of oozy if you forget to take it off quick enough. So does that mean that you should stand clear from this? NO NO NO. I love it, but you should just buy 2 to begin with. When one is getting near to losing its coldness, swap it for the one in the freezer. I put a blue ice bag on top and below the bag in the freezer so it gets colder faster.

I've had it for about a month now, and I've used it probably 30 times, sometimes I just put it on if I'm feeling a little warm, or feeling like it could be a stressful day. I just put it over my forehead if I'm working. I have this software called Pzizz (google it) it helps take quick naps and sleep better. The two products combined are great together.

Ok, for people looking for head relief, pick two of these up (can't stress it enough). One of the other tricks I just figured out, Take one of the blue ice bags out of the freezer at the same time. When the gel mask has hit the end of its cooling, the blue ice will be a little melted from being out of the freezer. Put the blue ice in a sock. I used to use face cloths but they can't 'hold' something, and they are too thick. So the sock holds the ice pack and is thin enough that you really feel the cooling of it. Put the gel mask in the freezer and wait until the ice pack melts completely, then go get the gel mask again and it should be cold enough (obviously at this point put the ice pack back in too)

I hope my large review is helpful in making your decision to buy this wonderful product.

Purchased for hubby who has severe allergies that affect his eyes. He keeps them in the freezer & switches when they lose the coldness. He says they are wonderful for soothing his eyes when itching or when they become extremely painful. Probably could use another one just in case!

I really had a bad sinus infection and needed relief. This product looked appealing since I own their "shoulder ice pack" and love it. The sinus mask fits confortably and conforms to your face nicely. It is puncture proof and easily adjustable. My only complaint is that it only last about 15 minutes. I feel this is due to the fact that it is not as "thick" as say their back or shoulder products. It makes bedtime and after work so much more relaxing. If you need a cheap form of relief from either headaches or sinus troubles by all means pick one up.

I've found that in the absence or even instead of pain meds, one thing counteracts a migraine: brain freeze. I have been known to rinse my hair in icy water, down smoothies or frozen coffee, hold home made ice packs to my head--you name it. This a more convenient alternative for when I'm at home. I just wear this mask over my forehead.

I love the soft, almost silky material surrounding the cold gel--much more soothing than the hard edged plastic on my last gel mask. I disagree that this mask does not get cold enough or stay cold long enough. Sometimes the shock of how cold it is at first hurts to the point that I have to take breaks and place it over my hair. And you should be using it after it's been in the freezer two hours minimum. Now the human body is a hundred degrees; so yes, the thing's gonna cool off. Just flip it over. I've found that the print side is the cooler side, so I place that side next to my skin first. And as everyone else has figured out, I'm going to purchase a second one. Actually, just a single use has killed my migraines each time so far, but I'd like to keep the compress on it to ensure the headache stays dead, lol.

In case you're wondering, the mask size is adjustable, and the gel remains soft in the freezer. I think I'll be purchasing the neck compress, as well.

Five stars!

I suffer from optic neuritis (due to MS), migraines and sinus issues. I have lots of reason to love a product like this. I was using the Cervical Collar by Elasto-Gel over my eyes and forehead for headaches and such and was so pleased to find this version of the Elasto-Gel. The products are great ... meaning they are very comfortable and well constructed.

I use them for their cooling not for heat. The unit can be heated in a microwave or conventional oven or placed in the freezer. Super versatile and when used for cooling, it is not cold enough to cause ice burn / frostbite and merely is extra cool. Super soothing. The cooling factor lasts for about 20 minutes. I can switch off between both of mine but may consider buying another mask in the future.

Great for hot flashes too :)

This is definitely a hormone/mood enhancer and gave me a good driven feeling for exercise but hands down, it put me in a very light hearted, silly mood. In general it seemed to amplify and elongate emotional states I put myself into shortly after use. So say you get enraged and go train in martial arts or lift weights, my experience tells me you will be literally 5 times more aggressive. It won't get you there but more so, keeps you rolling with the emotional/mental state you are in as well as amplifies it.

I came across this while looking for an alternative to prednisone and must point out that just like prednisone, it makes you EAT. Both produce an effect comparable to the kind of eating certain strains of cannabis will drive you to. For that reason I gave it 3 stars rather than the 5 it may very well deserve at a lower dosage however, I am rating a the mega potency dose.

I have tried many supplements and stick primarily to herbs, creatine and red star nutritional yeast for a strong source of protein and because it also stimulates antibody production(looking for something to get rid of acne anyone?). I don't see a point in this mega dosage unless you're the size of John Cena or The Rock OR, you want to get fat and go into sumo wrestling!

10-20mg is probably more ideal. Too bad these aren't tablets that can be snapped in half. They are indeed gel caps full of powder so, USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Bedtime Original Tea 16 BagsI have been getting painful cluster headaches, and read in a nutrition book that there are several herbs that will dull or get rid of your headache. I noticed that this tea has a lot of those herbs, and it worked! It has worked several times! I don't know if it only works for cluster headaches, but try this (along with a hot pad or cold compress) before any painkillers. It helps so much!!!

Mild relaxants such as Organic St. John's Wort and Passion Flower are also included in this formula. St. John's Wort is well known for its positive effects on mood, while Passion Flower, a Native American herb containing the naturally occurring chemical chrysina, a flavonoid, has been shown to help reduce nervousness and anxiety. This tea is also enhanced with Organic Skullcap, which has scutellarian, a plant compound that has been shown to help reduce anxiety. It's a lovely, intense, all natural herbal tea made from organic ginger root, organic lemon grass, orgnaic licorice root, organic peppermint leaf, and organic black pepper. I had been having problems sleeping, and i saw this particular tea advertised in a magazine, ordered it right away online from the supplier, good price and fast shipping. No problem with the supplier at all. The tea does make one sleepy, but the overwhelming taste of licorice makes it hard to drink, and in reading the ingredients i see that licorice root is the first ingredient.

Foot alignment socks.

Foot alignment socks.By the way, the "fits shoe size 5-9" means men's sizes 5-9 or women's sizes 6-10.

The outside (pinky) and next-to-outside toes on my right foot have been badly malformed due to shoes, so I bought these foot alignment socks in hopes they'd help fix the problem (which was causing a large callus and sore spot on the bottom of my foot). These socks were easy to put on and are very comfortable.

On my left foot, I could feel the stretch in my pinky the first day but now (4 days later) that foot just feels comfy and relaxed when I have these stocks on. On my right foot, I could really feel the stretch on the first day and it was just under the point of pain, but I could wear the sock for 45 minutes the first try. I could see a difference even after that one treatment. I've been wearing them 45 minutes, twice a day for four days now and the re-alignment of my right toes is very obvious. The sore on the bottom on my foot is practically gone. On day 4, even wearing the sock for 2 hours on my right foot (because I missed the morning session) didn't feel uncomfortable, though I felt the stretch. I'm extremely pleased.

I like the socks, but they're no miracle. The socks actually say Happy Feet on them, not plain like in the picture. I don't think they'll remove my bunions, but the stretching does relieve pain. I ordered the SMD size and I'm a women's size 9 and they are still big. They're not huge, but I wish there was an XS because that would fit better. If you wear a women's size 10 and below, they'll be big on you. I'm glad I got them they're better than pain.

I really like these socks. Although my alignment is severe, I do believe they are helping it whenever I can wear them as I need to do. The softness and sock feature makes them very comfortable to wear. I highly recommend these.

These socks have really helped my feet. I really only wear one on my right foot which is the one that gives me pain. At night after work, while watching TV or reading, I wear the one sock. It separates my toes very comfortably. I take it off before I go to bed and it relieves me of the pain I used to have when I was trying to go to sleep. I don't necessarily, but try to wear it every night. I would recommend these socks for anyone with toes that seem as though they are trying to grow on top of each other and cause pain. They have certainly helped me.

I got the small/medium size. I'm 5'3" and wear a size 7 shoe. I have short toes and these spread my toes too far apart. I can't wear them for longer than an hour without my toes going numb. I opted for the soft toe spreaders used for pedicures. They work well for my Morton's neuroma.

Dr. Barbara Hendel's Magnesium Oil From the Ancient Zechstein Sea

Dr. Barbara Hendel's Magnesium Oil From the Ancient Zechstein SeaI've got adrenal fatigue, and, as often accompanies this condition, a severe magnesium deficiency. Magnesium is crucial for healthy adrenal function. During times of stress, either emotional or physical, the adrenal glands are called on to respond to the stressor, namely via the production of cortisol and adrenaline, among other hormones. You can imagine that if the diet is producing an inadequate supply of magnesium, one would run out fairly quickly. When these tiny glands malfunction, chronic illness can occur. This is where I'm at. I was popping magnesium citrate supplements like crazy all day long and eating foods rich in Mg, to no avail. All I wound up with was diarrhea. I wasn't obtaining results at all and continued to feel crummy.

I was digging around online when I saw the term "transdermal magnesium." Intrigued, I looked into it. Then I came to amazon.com, because I feel the reviews here are authentic and I can trust what people are saying. I decided I had nothing to lose and bought some.

As soon as it arrived, I wasted no time and applied it all over my body. I won't lie; this "oil" stings and/or itches, especially on a cut or wound of any kind. But it also heals the cuts very quickly. I didn't feel anything happening the first time I used it, but during the second time, all of a sudden I felt a warmth underneath my skin (presumably in my bloodstream), and I felt like someone had "plugged me in." [Note adrenal fatigue occurs when the adrenal glands' cells are devoid of the necessary mineral reserves to sustain them, so you just sorta fizzle out. It's no fun, believe me.] My energy didn't soar through the roof or anything, but for me, I knew that I was onto something.

I've been using it 2x/day for several months now, and I refuse to be without it. It goes where I go. I sleep much more soundly, whereas before I had trouble falling and staying asleep. The anxiety that I suffered for a decade is also so much better. I feel more alert and more in control of my thoughts. It's also eliminated the heart palpitations that accompany adrenal fatigue. I could not be more pleased with this product.

By supplementing orally, it can take a year or even longer to replenish the cells' Mg reserves. I've read that using transdermal Mg, replenishment can occur in as little as a few months. While my case is extreme, I have no doubt that healthy folks would benefit from this too. In my opinion, we are all likely Mg deficient to some degree. For optimal health and vitality, we could all use more powerful magnesium! And, as we all know, our food quality these days is subpar and just not supplying us with everything that we need.

UPDATE 2/12/12:

True to what I've read, I was able to stop using this oil after only a few months. So, even in my extremely depleted (read: stressed) state, this oil was able to build my Mg reserves back up in a very short time. Now I make sure to eat a lot of bone broth, organ meats, and I juice veggies everyday. A few weeks ago, I applied some Mg oil again to ensure I still have a sufficient supply, and I didn't feel any difference. So it seems that I'm able to obtain the magnesium I need from my diet once again. I'm grateful for this transdermal oil; I believe it would have taken me much longer to build up my reserves if I had only used the oral form of supplementation.

I was born with rosacea on the upper back of my arms and haven't found a solution until I bought this. Within the first few applications (I only applied once per day), the bumps and redness reduced tremendously. The first week of applications did come with some burning/itching feeling, but it was to my understanding that it was curing the bacteria that had built up. Since then, I've applied this daily and the skin is completely smooth (no bumps) and the redness is almost gone. It's incredible.

I also applied this to others areas such as my face and actually watched a pimple reduce before my eyes in a matter of seconds! I put some magnesium oil on a q-tip and applied to a canker sore and it went away the next day.

This stuff really is amazing when using to absorb through the skin.

I use this exclusively to brush my teeth (one spray or so on the toothbrush, sometimes I rinse out my mouth then rinse off the brush, spray it again and brush again). Sometimes I also spray it in my mouth as a type of freshener and also for an oral dose.

I also use this as a deodorant and if I ever get a zit, I apply this stuff to it throughout the day and it works like a charm.

I've read quite a bit online of other people using magnesium oil to brush their teeth and using it as a deodorant; and I know using it to brush your teeth is an unorthodox use of the stuff, but it works! My teeth feel VERY glossy and clean after brushing with magnesium oil, and I also like that by using it I'm getting exposed to a good dose of magnesium. Even if it wasn't supplying me with magnesium (which I would find hard to believe since with brushing my teeth with it I probably swallow a fair amount of the stuff), it works better than any toothpaste I've tried.

I do have tooth discoloration, so my teeth probably wouldn't look very impressive to anyone. I also have very soft enamel and am prone to getting cavities. But after reading about fluoride in toothpaste I decided to stop using my prescription high-fluoride toothpaste, and eventually switched over to using magnesium oil; and this year when I went to the dentist after using magnesium oil to brush my teeth for months, I had no cavities. It was also the first time I heard that I did a 'pretty good job' cleaning my teeth.

It does taste pretty putrid at first (very, very strong), but after getting used to it I don't mind it at all (I found the same to be true for the 'orthodox' topical application!). Anyway, if you don't want to brush your teeth with it, don't lose any sleep over that. I'm just saying for anyone who's curious, I've been using it for probably over a year now and I love it.

P.S. I also *sometimes* add this to my drinking water. I was very skeptical of using this on my teeth and in water as on the label it says "for external use only," but I did a lot of research and I kept seeing references to people using it this way.

Here's an interesting study. The conclusion: "An additional Mg salt (Mg-chloride) fortification of drinking water is capable of inhibiting atherogenesis in male LDL-receptor-deficient mice. That is done in a lower concentration of Mg than previously reported."And if you check out this PDF:

...you will see it recommends adding about 2/3 teaspoon of magnesium oil to 1.5 L of water (about 6-7 cups) and drinking it throughout the day. I will say that it can have a *LAXATIVE EFFECT* so if you're trying this for the first time, I wouldn't do it when I was about to go out or something.

So, this is the swiss army knife of toiletries in my opinion. Pimple 'medication,' deodorant, tooth'paste', mineral supplement for water (okay, not necessarily a toiletry but bear with me here). And of course you can use it topically as the product recommends.

Maybe I'm just weird? >_< Well take care, and I hope you got something out of this. I encourage everyone to do their own research and experiment for themselves, as well.

This is one of two products on Amazon I considered purchasing, the other option being, Ancient Minerals Ultra Pure Magnesium Oil 8 oz.. It appeared that each of these 8 oz bottles held the same oil with the same percentage of magnesium chloride to water, but I couldn't determine that percentage precisely because neither product specified the balance on the buying pages. I highly recommend either of these products.

I also recommend reading reviews posted on other mg oil offerings, for info on types of uses which have been successful. I had read those, in addition to having made Google searches on mg chloride brine water prior to looking for the actual product I would purchase. Of course I'm faithful to Amazon, buying here whenever possible, due to this company's awesome venues available to authors for publishing and promoting their books; and due to Amazon's easy, extensive, economical availability of nearly anything anyone could need or want. I also buy here due to the valued assistance and plethora of useful information in customer reviews.

As you know if you've researched magnesium oil (which is not a true oil but feels like one), many people with severe magnesium deficiencies are using this type of oil transdermally to get around the difficulties of ingestion of various types of magnesium preparations. Mg deficiencies are becoming more and more prevalent, in addition to an increased awareness of the vital necessity of this mineral for health and maintenance of nearly ALL bodily functions. According to research, magnesium is found in and on bones, muscles, tissues, and cells; but it is not prevalent enough in blood to be determined as deficient via blood testing. I would recommend doing various Google searches on magnesium to discover how individuals have worked with this mineral in various ways to alleviate a variety of severe health issues.

I believe that magnesium deficiency shows itself in different ways in different individuals, possibly due to the uniqueness of each individual's habits and needs (and possibly due to individual differences in a "Dynamic Chemical Balance Default" or "DCBD", which is my term for an evolving concept I'm working on). In my case, the barometers of deficiency show up most dramatically in heavy cramping of abdominal and back muscles, sometimes hands and feet, even neck and jaw. The deficiency also shows itself through shortness of breath, anxiety, and lower quality of sleep. I have been taking mg oxide in tablet form for several months and have received minimal (but adequate) and slightly increasing relief of symptoms from ingestion of 1500 mg /day taken in tablet form evenings and mornings (the side effect of loose or liquid bowel movement is a blessing and feels more normal to me, and to my holistic doctor friend, than previous types of "regularity"). I decided against use of "Slow Mag" or types of mg capsules which have a higher percentage of calcium to magnesium, because it has recently been determined (more like speculated, but I agree with this) that the body needs a higher percentage of magnesium, in order for calcium and other minerals to work properly, and because calcium can work against magnesium if the balance of Calcium is higher.

Since I could see that any ingestion method would likely take some time to develop or "open" the body's ability to absorb the mineral, I wondered if I might find a magnesium essential oil of some type which I could apply on my skin.

Allow me to interject a sideline of information which relates directly to the body's (in) ability to assimilate ingested magnesium. I have been aware for quite some time that most foods are now impregnated with soybean products, through a great variety of methods:

Through feeding of animals; through pharming efforts (yes, that's a correct spelling; Google that term and you'll feel like you've stepped into an X-Files movie); through genetic alteration of grown foods; and through additives to foods sold (actually pushed, often through cholesterol phobia) to grocers and restaurants. I've read reports from a variety of doctors and scientists who believe firmly and frighteningly that soybean products give a strong (basically an overdose) estrogen effect (causing premature sexual development, aging and other ailments); and that soybean products are toxic anti-nutrients which block minerals (including magnesium) from being absorbed or assimilated through the intestines (Google "soy" and "harm" and/or read my op-ed on Soy in my book, The DAYS of COFFEE & DONUTS: Non Toxic Soapbox Satire: Who or What is De-Kindling Life? (Nonfiction).

In addition to the reported detrimental effects of overdoses of soy products, even light studies will expose that most of the additives (even the purportedly "natural" ones) in foods debilitate the variety of fats and oils (yes including cholesterol, which is a vitally needed nutrient) which the body needs for most functions it performs, including storage of minerals and vitamins essential for not only basic functions, but for stress or extra ordinary demands of the body when more of these minerals, especially magnesium, are required immediately and desperately, sometimes for an extended period.

If you're interested, take a minute to Google the food additive, "Citric Acid" (aka Sodium Citrate). It has been used in cigarette paper to keep it burning when the smoker isn't puffing. It is also known to break bonds in fat molecules. If cholesterol phobia had any truth to it (I believe there is no truth to that decades pushed phobia), I could see why this might sound good. However, it is my assumption and speculation that when the bonds in fat molecules are broken (or in oil, etc.), they will not have capacity to store the vitamins and minerals they are meant to store. Where's magnesium when you need it? It's been depleted due to oils, fats, etc., being debilitated every which way by nearly every food additive currently used in all prepared foods, including basic cow's milk, cream, and butter. When citric acid isn't added to foods, phosphates are (often both are added plus other "items" which debilitate needed oils), which accomplish the same dissolution of fats and oils, as you can see when you use soap or detergent to wash grease from pans. The soap (phosphates) dissolves the fat, which becomes water soluble and washes away. That's great for external cleaning of culinary utensils (if you rinse them well), but it's not healthful for internal bodily functions which need fully bonded and functioning fats and oils for many vital necessities, including for storing essential nutrients. Within this current, horrifyingly misguided food and drug (anti-cholesterol drugs, etc.) preparation system and situation, a person could weigh several hundred pounds and still have no useable fats or oils in his system.

A friend of mine recently suffered the death of a daughter in her 30's. The daughter, according to the report from her physician, had been given (by a different physician) a new medication which surprised everyone by suddenly depleting the magnesium in her system. Upon retiring for the night, the woman died, from one heartbeat to the next. According to most current speculation, Magnesium releases or relaxes muscles, while Calcium tenses them. According to the reports, the woman's heart contracted, but wouldn't release, due to the sudden depletion of magnesium. She died in minutes.

I'm thankful for this magnesium oil, and for its reasonable price. I've been using it for about a week and am definitely noticing a decrease in symptoms which I've learned to associate with magnesium deficiency. The positive results are much more dramatic than I've received from ingesting the mg tabs.

Now I can sneeze, cough, and move suddenly without the feeling (and fearing) that my entire body is going to fall into (and has in the past) a severe cramping attack. I'm sleeping much more normally and soundly, for longer periods at a time. Sometimes I sleep peacefully, with good dreams, for 6 or 8 hrs straight! I can breathe normally most of the time, and only once in a while now I notice the lead heart feeling or an anxiety level need to get a huge yawn or take a deeper breath, which I can't seem to do. When I've felt the magnesium input take hold in my system, which it does suddenly at times, the only way I can describe the enormously welcome sensation is of suddenly being NORMAL, STRONG, RIGHT, and CLEAR.

At some point, I might try some of the other mg oil products, to compare to this one, but so far, I'm VERY pleased with this one. The "oil" seems to work best when applied on my skin after a hot shower, with the pores open. I sometimes spray it all over my body and leave it on. Other times I just spray it over my chest, abdomen, and tops of my feet. Sometimes it itches mildly for a while, but the feeling passes. Others have noted having more of a skin irritation upon initial uses, but I have not had this problem. Possibly this preparation has a lower percentage of mg to water than others, but the oily feel is definitely strong enough to allow me to believe I'm getting enough Mg concentration. [Update: 2/24/10: I now know that this solution is saturated and pure, so it has as much Magnesium Chloride as possible; it has as much or more than other magnesium oils available. See comments posted under this review. ] I do wish the products labeling would give this percentage information.

Thank you Swanson and Amazon for this economical offering of this life restoring product,

Want Dr. Barbara Hendel's Magnesium Oil From the Ancient Zechstein Sea Discount?

After 16 years of smoking, I finally decided to quit. Unfortunately, along with my quit I also decided to do a detox diet/cleanse and wound up with a staph infection due to the amount of toxins trying to leave my body--Well, that's what I thought, anyway. To make matters worse, I was prescribed a regimen of antibiotics that I discovered later had robbed me of any magnesium I had. I thought I was dying. I was in pain from head-to-toe, I couldn't think straight, sleeping was out-of-the-question, was having horrible anxiety attacks, heart palpitations, eye twitches, muscle pains and spasms, and was on an emotional roller-coaster.

Then I discovered I was magnesium deficient--quite by accident--which is another story by itself. I immediately ran to my local natural foods store and picked up a calcium/magnesium supplement. I felt a little better within a couple hours of taking it. I wasn't as stiff and sore, and I could somewhat relax. Then, I discovered that I was already getting enough calcium, so I decided to try a strictly magnesium supplement. Even better. I was consistently feeling better, sleeping better, and my anxiety was completely gone.

When I saw this oil, I had to try it. Sometimes I tend to take a little too much mag and I get the classic 'bathroom' symptoms. Not with Mag Oil. Your body only uses what it needs. I've had tremendous success with this product already, and am happy to report that I'm down to taking 1 dose of my oral magnesium per day because of this product. The rest of the time, I simply spray this oil on my hands, arms, feet, or any other part of my body that is achy or tense, and I can feel the results right away without worrying about transit time/dose that goes along with oral supplementation.

Another nice effect is softer/smoother skin! I've finally gotten brave enough to try it on my face, and the results are nothing short of amazing. My skin looks younger, and any acne I get from my smoking detox heals quickly and without scars. Yes, it does sting quite a bit when applied to the face and some other areas of the body, but it's not enough of an issue for me to stop using it. I know that the stinging isn't a bad thing, so I endure it for twenty minutes and then wash it off.

I've also been using it for brushing my teeth, and my teeth are whiter and less opaque...and gums are looking more pink and healthy.

This stuff is nothing short of amazing. I won't be without it. I'm thinking of stocking up on some Mag Chloride flakes from Swanson's so that I can make my own.

Keep in mind that if you aren't getting any results from the Mag Oil, you may not be getting enough of some of the other minerals like Calcium or Potassium which assist Magnesium absorption. Or, it may be that you aren't deficient. At any rate, just keep using it and see if you notice a change. It could be that you're so deficient that you also need to take an oral supplement (like I did, at first) until you build your levels back up.

To good health! :)

Twin Size Underquilt and Free Pillow - Cuddle Ewe

Twin Size Underquilt and Free Pillow - Cuddle EweThe Cuddle Ewe has been better than any of the other mattress toppers I've tried. It holds it's shape. It doesn't hold heat against you in the summer. Unfortunately, I would have liked a little more substance to make it loftier. It has stayed on my bed, unlike other mattress toppers I threw away in frustration. Overall, I'm not sorry for purchasing it, and as far as mattress toppers go it isn't bad.

Sept 2012I have fibromyalgia and ligament laxity that combo makes for chronic and constant pain. I couldn't find any mattress that I could sleep on without a LOT of pain and I felt miserable from pain and lack of sleep. About 910 years ago I bought a Cuddle Ewe underquilt and it changed my life it is SO comfortable and I could sleep again!! I need a new one now because the middle (under mid-spine/butt/hips) feels too smashed down and thin and I am feeling pain again when I sleep but that is after having it for years! WELL worth the money and I can't wait until the new one gets here!

DEC 2012 UPDATE to my review I ordered and received a new Cuddle Ewe and I am sending it back. The one I had for years was as advertised 3-4" thick and was wonderful. The new one I received is 1 to 1 1/2 " at best. Doesn't really relieve any pain, barely makes any difference in making sleeping feel more comfortable and definitely NOT worth the $234.

Jan 2013 contacted ProHealth and they acted as a go-between me and the company who makes them (Merlo)and they (Merlo) said thickness will vary depending on how thick the sheeps coats are that year and the expect it would be different from the one I got years ago!, but they rarely find them to be "defective" or underweight when they are returned. I was told the one I got should weigh between 14-15 lbs. When I weighed mine it only weighed either 8 -10 lbs (2 different scales). Then they told me they meant to say it should weigh 12-13 lbs and the 14-15 was because that included the box, which they claim weighs 2-3 lbs! When I sent it back the weight at UPS, with the box, was only 10 lbs. So that means it must have weighed 8 lbs which means it was underweight by 1/3 of what it should weigh! It was deemed "defective" after all and they did agree to either exchange it or refund my money. I went with the refund since I don't trust the company at all and didn't want to hassle with sending another one back, since they don't appear to have any Quality Control in place. Wonder how many people wth Fibro get ripped off by them because they are too exhausted to bother to send a defective one back?? While I would not trust Merlo Company who makes the Cuddle Ewe, the customer service rep, Gail, at ProHealth was extremely professional, friendly and helpful.

The free pillow they sent was about 2 " thick and so worthless as a pillow I am going to take it apart and try to add it to where my old Cuddle Ewe has gone flat.

VERY DISAPPOINTED and NO LONGER RECOMMEND.

I purchased my queen-size Cuddle Ewe 11 years ago and I have absolutely loved it. For one thing, it is a natural material, with no weird outgassing from petroleum-based products like foam pads, and it regulates temperature beautifully, unlike memory-foam toppers or mattresses, and I hear it keeps down dust mites. I turn it around every couple of months and keep a flannel sheet on top of it (under my bottom sheet) to protect it, and that's it. I understand that their optimum life is about 10 years, and I am sure it has compressed quite a bit, but it is still comfortable after 11 years and when I came on Amazon to check the price of a new one, I decided I can happily live with it for another year or two. Oh, and it stays put on my mattress. Great, well-made product and a real aid to sound sleep...VERY comfortable!

I had been wanting one of these for a long time because they are recommended by Dr. Christine Northrup and sounded so wonderful. I can't see anything special about it. It is not any more comfortable that the dozen other toppers I have tried except that it is more expensive. I don't use it anymore. The best thing I have found is a 4-inch-thick memory foam from Walmart (too hard by itself) with a foam egg-crate topper on top of that (Target).

A must have. Wonderful product and would recommend it to anyone with pain issues in the body. Looking for something to help you sleep, look no longer.

Alba Rainforest Night time treatment oil, 0.5-Ounce Bottle

Alba Rainforest Night time treatment oil, 0.5-Ounce BottleI've been using this serum for about a year and can't believe how much better it is than many of the more expensive products I've tried. At first I thought it might make me break out because it's an unusual texture. But it's light and penetrating without being overly greasy. I don't know if it's my imagination, but whenever I use it I think I look much better in the morning.

I use this about three times a week and my skin looks tighter and refreshed every time. I have combination/oily skin with a small amount of acne and it also seems to help clear up acne and start to fade previous acne blotches. I will definitely be buying this again. It's great used on its own or mixed with moisturizer.

ResMed Ultra Mirage II Mask Frame System (Large)

ResMed Ultra Mirage II Mask Frame SystemThis is my second mask and it is better than the first. It covers a smaller protion of my face

so it is less retricting. I had no air leaks and the fit was goo.

I give it 5 stars because I would buy another. Not sure how well it compares to the more expensive masks as far as durability. It doesn't have the feel that you could roll over it without damage, but it's only $68.

The hose attachment swivels 360 degrees. I wasn't sure since almost all pictures show the hose attachment routing down or to the side.

The gray swiveling hose connector in front pulls off with a gentle tug and snaps back on easily. So with hose attached, you don't have to disengage the hose from the mask by twisting and tugging off the hose again. This is handy in cases you don't want to take the entire mask off, but want to get out of bed.

Also, mine came with the both nose and forehead cushions. I was concerned because the title and some listing descriptions just say frame only. It's also hard to tell from the product pic whether the nose cushion is attached. I bought mine where the listing said mask frame and cushion from Sleep Apnea Solutions.

Smoothies X Long Sleep Clips

Smoothies X Long Sleep Clips-Brown 01637Great purchase! I like these better than any other snap clips I own. They are longer in length so they hold more hair than most. Also, they grip firmly and lie flat against my scalp so hair is very secure and will not slip out. Best of all, they do not damage my hair despite the firm hold plus they feel very comfortable.

Don't know why they are called "sleep clips" as they have an attractive molded plastic covering in brown tortie (also available in black) so they are fine to wear to everywhere work, leisure activities, etc.

Highly recommended (I'm ordering a second set today).

Large Full Face Mask Liners (32pk)

Large Full Face Mask LinersThese liners are so scimpy. there are as thin as a piece of tissue. Actually toilet paper would work better. This product is a total waste of money.

Very happy with these liners, they are a perfect fit. No more horrible red marks(rash) left on my face from the mask!!! Makes the mask more comfortable as well and stops the leaks from blowing on the eyes.

Unisom Unisom Sleepgels

Unisom Maximum Strength Nighttime Sleep Aid Softgels-32, countLike virtually all sleeping pills on the market, this one uses the active ingredient in Benadryl diphenhydramine. Diphenhydramine is a sedating antihistamine. The sedation from 50 mg of diphenhydramine will cause you to become drowsy and sleepy, and will likely keep you this way for about 8-12 hours. Thus, not only will you likely sleep the night through, but you will have a groggy sleep hangover the next day until about noon.

Since this is an antihistamine, you will likely experience other mild side-effects, such as imbalance, urinary retention, and mild dry mouth. The urinary retention is of particular concern in men with prostate or bladder problems. The side effects are transient and wear off as the medication is metabolized and excreted from the body.

Benadryl (diphenhydramine) is not habit-forming or addictive in a physical way. It has the potential for psychological addiction. Thus, it is best used as an occasional aid for sleeplessness, not an every-night event

My doctor just diagnosed me with restless leg syndrome. I did't want to take any of the prescriptions that she suggested. All of them being narcotics and you become completely dependent on them. I am all set with that! She suggested taking an otc sleep aid for a month and see if it takes the edge off. I went to the nearest pharmacy and picked one out Unisom. I take it every night just as the package described but I have noticed they work better with an empty stomache. The first few nights of taking Unisom, I had bizarre dreams. After about the fourth night, the dreams were gone. I sleep the entire night with hardly any movement. I am finally waking up refreshed! It's been about a year since I have felt this way.

These do work, I fall asleep after an hour and if I wake up in the middle of the night I go right back to sleep without a problem. The only downside is that I feel super drowsy the next morning, which wears off after a few hours.

i love unisom!

they are non-habit forming which is definitely a plus!

for me, they take about an hour to kick in, so i usually take it an hour or so before i plan on sleeping.

the first time i tried them, i took 2 softgels [although the recommended dosage for an adult is one softgel] and when i fell asleep i couldn't even move.

so follow the instructions, and take just one; it does the job!

i don't have a problem with feeling drowsy when i wake up.

in fact i feel well rested. i get a full 8 and even 9 hours of sleep.

Natrol (incl Laci Le Beau Teas) Stress & Anxiety Day & Nite Formulas

Natrol Stress and Anxiety - Day and Night Tablets, 60-CountI am the caregiver for my mother with Alzheimer. I was depressed most of the time and had a hard time sleeping. My doctor put me on an anti-depressant which made me feel emotionally dead, so I went off of them. My health food store suggested these pills and I tried them. After about a week I noticed a difference. I have been on them about 3 months and notice a big improvement in my attitude and sleeping. I recommend that you give them a try!

This is a great product if you are suffering from regular life stress. The day formula is helpful but the nite formula really puts me out. I do believe that they work together well. Give it about a week to start seeing results.

Buy Natrol (incl Laci Le Beau Teas) Stress & Anxiety Day & Nite Formulas Now

This product is great in that it is very subtle. The night formula has the effect of making you tired so you can fall asleep without the groggy headed feeling in the morning. The daytime formula does not produce noticeable changes right away. However, I noticed a difference after taking on a regular basis that I felt more relaxed overall. I imagine that if you have serious issues this may not be the right thing for you and something on a prescription strength may be what you need. For those who are suffering from the normal extra stresses in life, it is worth a shot. I've really liked it.

Withings Wireless Scale WS-30

Withings Wireless Scale WS-30, WhiteI'd been contemplating purchasing a wi-fi enabled scale for quite some time, having decided to get on a serious weight-loss routine. Up until purchase time, I'd settled on the Fitbit Aria scale...but I'm one of those people who likes to meticulously research purchases, and at the last minute I read that that a lot of the Fitbit scale's integration with web services rely on the use of a Fitbit Tracker. Since I use the Sleep Cycle Alarm Clock app for iOS for sleep tracking and use Wahoo's sensors & app for workout tracking, I've never really felt the need to invest in a Fitbit Tracker. Since going with a Withings scale would mean being able to have my scale link to my RunKeeper account without having to invest in $100 sensor, I gave up on the Aria and saved about $30 in the process they're being sold at $99 instead of the the $129 list price, so I'm guessing it's a holiday promo sale price.

Setup was quick & easy, and was great to be able to complete in under 5 minutes using only my phone. The only thing I wasn't crazy about were these round plastic knobs that attach to the feet of the scale. They come with little circular 3M stick pads that you peel off and jam on the underside of the scale There's no instructions denoting whether or not they NEED to be used, and feel cheap and out of place.

In the few days I've had it, this thing has already been a great motivational tool. I've never really trusted the measurements I got from the mechanical scales at the gym. When you step on the Withings scale, the display shows little tiny arrows to help you place yourself properly and get an accurate measurement. Now I can accurately weigh myself at my convenience, and have that data pushed to RunKeeper and MyFitnessPal.

At a $100 price point, there's no reason not to give this thing a try, especially if you're serious about tracking & meeting health goals.

The scale works EXACTLY as expected.... Not sure what would be causing people to have problems setting it upbut there are some actual hard buttons on the bottom that may need to be adjusted, I had to find that out on my own. Otherwise, it synce with no problems to my iPhone app, and its so nice to be tracking my progress (or lack of ) without having to log in or manually track a thing! Highly recommended.

A buddy of mine raved about these but he was a fitness freak doing triathlons and worried about every gram of weight so I thought they might be too much for me, I Just wanted to get on the right path to some long term weight loss but he showed me the apps supporting it so I decided to get these based on the support for it. I've had them a month and I have lost 6kg but more importantly for me I can remind myself of my goals and progress on my iPhone and Mac anytime when I think i'm going to have that burger. On the technical side it worked first time out of the box although it took a couple of days to recognise my Wife's profile when she used them, but it has been seamless and a real 5 star product for both the regular health conscious user and the athlete doing serious training.

Read Best Reviews of Withings Wireless Scale WS-30 Here

I was originally looking at the older version of this scale because I wanted a good bathroom scale that would also measure the percentage of fat, bone, and water. I thought the Wifi capability was pretty nifty, and I knew I could sync it to some of the other apps. That being said, when I noticed that there was a newer version and for a cheaper price, I didn't read carefully to notice that this scale does not have Bioelectrical impedance analysis. It only weighs and calculates BMI (which in my opinion is a waste of a feature on a scale, because you can calculate your BMI yourself!)

I have noticed that it is not always responsive when I step on it, but if I tap it, it turns on and we are good to go. It is very accurate as far as a scale is concerned. (I just went to the doctors, and it was pretty much the same.)

I found the Bluetooth button a little unresponsive at first, but then, it is Nebraska in the winter, so that may have had to do with the fact that it had been out in the cold for an extended period of time. Once I got the button to respond ( a few minutes,) I had the scale and the app set up in 10 minutes or less.

I'm not sure if I will keep it or not, because I think $100.00 is pretty hefty for a scale just because it has bluetooth and connects to an app. There are a lot of good scales that have BIA for half that price.

Want Withings Wireless Scale WS-30 Discount?

I returned this scale after fighting with it for a few weeks. Here were my three main problems with it: 1) it's wireless/bluetooth synching of results with the Withings app are spotty at best, 2) hope you like writing emails, because if you go to their website looking for a customer support phone number you won't find one, and 3) this morning I lost 17 pounds compared to yesterday. So either I've performed a weight loss miracle, or this scale is a piece of worthless garbage.
