Breathe Right Nasal Strips, Large, 30-Count Boxes

Here was the problem. I kept waking up in the middle of the night because my nasal passages would collapse when my head was turned sideways. Not a good thing if you want a good night's rest.

I tried the tan version first. Horrible. I had a red welt across the bridge of my nose in two days where the adhesive ripped my skin off, even after trying to loosen them up in the shower.

I went to the clear strips which have lower adhesive properties. Perfect, I now sleep through the night, and I can remove them in the morning without removing flesh.

For those of you thinking that you will stop snoring with Breathe Right think again. Snoring is a symptom of some other problem. In 2000 my doctor asked me if I snored badly. I replied that my wife now sleeps in another room because of my snoring. He suggested that I had Sleep Apnea and scheduled me for a sleep study. It turned out that I did have Sleep Apnea. I obtained a CPAP machine and started using it and my wife returned to our bedroom immediately. My snoring stopped immediately. I also have bad hay fever and the CPAP had an added benefit. Their is an air filter on the blower inlet to the machine that cleans the air to the Mask. I no longer wake up with a stuffy nose. Partly because the CPAP mask forces pressurized air through my nose and partly I believe because of the filter. Shortly after I started using the CPAP I discovered Breathe Right Nasal Strips. I started using them and they helped with night time breathing because I have narrow nasal passages. I have been using the CPAP and Breathe Right Nasal Strips for 10 years.

Now the bad news. In November 2010, I purchased several more boxes of Breathe Right and have been experiencing a problem in the morning. The adhesive that sticks to your nose is pulling away from the plastic band that pulls your nose out from normal position. So I wake up in the morning with only partially open nose passages. It appears that GlaxoSmithKline has a quality problem with the strips. Maybe they are having them made by another factory (OFFSHORE) and that is the problem with the quality.

Do I really need to review Breathe Right strips? They work. Get some if your nose gets stuffy when you sleep or have any other breathing problems at night(unless they are serious, then go see a doctor!)

I'm a big guy, the large are meant for Toucans or other large beaked birds. Buy regular size.

Breathe right produces a newer stronger version that I use. These were a bit weak at lifting open the nasal passage and I'd still sore a bit with these on.

Their other products are much better.

Unisom Unisom Natural Nights Sleeptabs

If I had read any of these reviews before I bought this I wouldn't have bought it at all. I'm glad I did buy it! I usually take Source Natural brand Peppermint dissolving tablets from Whole Foods. I have extreme anxiety and takes several prescriptions to control it and help me sleep. One of these prescriptions makes peoplee so sleepy they have to sleep about 1214 hours a day at least when they first start taking it. That wore off on me pretty quickly and no longer knocks me out. I've tried Ambient, Trazadone, Klonopin and probably several more over the years. So I tried Melatonin at the suggestion of my Doctor and it works the best of all the others. But when I ran out I had to use another brand. That's when I found Unisom Natural Nights. They are all natural but without herbs which is great because I have a very sensitive system and am allergic to everything from cats and dogs to onion, garlic, sulfites, dust, the sun and many more. But they didn't bother me at all. Not even one bit. I take them and within minutes I start to feel myself relaxing and I don't have any more trouble waking the next morning than usual or any more groginess during the day than usual. My face doesn't get flushed either. As regards the previous comments, both Vitman B6 and Calcium can cause skin irritation and rash and B6 has a side effect of sleeplessness which is probably why some are not sleeping through the night the Melatonin is wearing off before the B6 so you wake up. Overall, it's very effective but like anything else you take there will be some people who experience adverse side effects. And people are more likely to submit reviews that are negative. People don't feel the same passion to write a review when they have a good experience. Anyway, hopefully this is helpful.

This product worked great for me. I woke up with out a problem and was very alert. I did sleep for a solid 8-9 hours, so I wouldn't take this product if you only have like 5 hours before the alarm goes off. That being said, every individual reacts differently to medications, so I wouldn't go by any reviews... Just saying.

This is the worst sleep aid I have ever tried. I've used melatonin supplements to sleep better, but decided to try this product b/c the Unisom brand had been recommended by a friend. The "natural" aspect appealed to be. The instructions on the package say to take 1 tablet a 1/2 hour before bed. The product took much longer to work, but once it did, it knocked me out so strongly and awkwardly, that waking up the next morning was a challenge. The drowsiness lasted throughout the day. In addition, I think that Unisom needs to rework something about the ratios of the vitamins they use in this product, as it created minor irritation on my face. It wasn't a full blown rash, and it wasn't hives just extreme dryness and some discomfort. Initially, I thought it might have something to do w/ the new moisturizer I was using, so I stopped using the lotion. Nothing changed. I stopped using this product, and the irritation stopped the very next day. Again, do not use this product. It's awful.

I think the Unisom with Diphenhydramine Hci 50 Mg works better at putting me to sleep and keeping me asleep, I tried both and this natural stuff with Melatonin and B6-Calcium doesn't put me to sleep but instead maybe when I actually fall asleep it keeps me asleep through out the night? I prefer something that makes me sleep within the hour and keeps me asleep. The first day I tried it, I felt sleepy right after taking it but maybe it was the day, several days after I took the Natural Nights pill for three consecutive days and I stayed up for 2-3 hours before even feeling slightly the need to sleep. I don't think Unisom's Natural Nights Sleep Tablets are that effective. They might help a little.

I had similar issues with this product as other reviewers. It took me a very long time to actually fall asleep (longer than the purported 30 minutes, in fact I was wondering whether it was going to work for me at all), then I woke up several times.... from horrible screaming nightmares. Then, it was really really hard to wake up the next morning, and like others, I have had symptoms similar to a hangover all day. I would really not recommend this product.

Source Naturals Melatonin 1mg, Peppermint

I take melatonin to get sleepy at night since I'm a lifelong insomniac. Apparently, brand matters because other brands have failed to make me sleepy. Also, I've learned that large doses can actually make my insomnia worse. I've had my best success with the 1mg dose. Of course, everyone is different and trial and error will steer you to your optimal dose. But I'd start with the smallest dose first.

In these children, it has been shown to be safe for long-term use. There is a small study for "normal" children that shows it is safe up to a month. (The study didn't last longer than a month.) Side effects can include daytime drowsiness and nightmares. My daughter has not had any side effects. we give it to her at 8pm. She gets sleepy by 8:30pm -she actually asks for her blanket and books. We read 2-3 books and she falls asleep. She wakes up happy and rested.

She likes this particular brand. It tastes good. If you use it for your child, make sure you tell them not to chew it -it needs to dissolve in his or her mouth.

Talk to your child's doctor before starting this medication for your child, but it may work well for you, too.

EDIT: As another reviewer noted, BRAND DOES MATTER. The potency between different brands is different. 1mg of this brand does not necessary equal 1mg of another brand. This brand seems to be more potent than other brands we have tried.

Nature's Answer Chamomile Flowers

I have used Nature's Answer chamomile extract for 20 years. It replaced the chamomile tea bags which are more fun and tasty but not as expedient in the middle of the night or on an airplane. When I happen to wake at 2 or 3 AM thinking of business issues and have trouble getting back to sleep, 4 drops in water do the job within 15 minutes. Of course, one has to relax and not let anticipation keep one awake. The other use is on business flights to Europe where one has to walk into a meeting on the day of arrival. On flights that leave the USA 5-7PM and arrive in Europe 7-9AM, 8 drops of this extract, plus noise canceling headphones without input, an eye mask, and the request not to be wakened for meals or drinks, will allow me to wake on the descent into Europe, change my shirt, rent a car, and drive to the meeting and the business dinner afterward. I prefer the non-alcohol extract because it is in glycerin which gives the water a faint sweet flavor, but I have also used the alcohol extract successfully. You may need to adjust the number of drops for your metabolism; I noticed it requires less and less over time. I need to avoid sugar and caffeine in the evening for this to work the most effectively. Never tried it for Peter Rabbit's condition!

Remedy Heat Sensitive Memory Foam Sleep Mask

Sensory isolation helps a lot with my sleeping problems, and this mask does it better than a regular one. But on nights of actual insomnia, just isolation isn't enough. Then the built-in headphones do their work: rain sounds, a waterfall, waves on the beach, or if really necessary, a theta brainwave pattern, all in a program to kill the audio after one hour or two, and goodbye insomnia.

The only reasons it gets four stars rather than five: it's a little uncomfortable to sleep with a cable around, and the speakers are bulky enough that I can feel them a little bit when I lie on the side. Arranging the pillow a bit fixes the latter. Still, when they release the Bluetooth version, I'm buying it ;-)

This was purchased so I could use white noise to attempt to block out my husband's dreadful snoring. The mask itself is very large. So large, in fact, that I can't quite figure out how to place it on my face to make it comfortable. Even with the velcro in back it is an awkward fit. I am not particularly small or large so I suspect the fit would be similar for most people. The mask is surprisingly lightweight but because it is hard to find a good position on my face I do find its weight settling on my nose to be somewhat annoying. The fabric itself is soft. It came out of the package with a chemical odor, which can't really be avoided. If you are prone to migraines, like I am, this might be of interest. I'm not sure what the "heat' aspect of this thing is supposed to be. I've woken up with a seriously sweaty forehead just about every time I've worn it. The picture shows speakers that hang down over the ear. Mine has speakers inside the mask. Nothing is visible. The other thing I find odd is how the built-in speakers are positioned so that they are actually about an inch too high. They are placed more where the tops of ones ears would be, rather than the opening for the ear. With positioning, you can make it work, but it is awkward and takes some adjusting. The speakers themselves are not exactly high quality. I already have heard a little crackling in them and this thing is only a couple of weeks old. It won't be long until one side or the other cuts out. So...it is better, and more comfortable, than trying to keep ear buds in all night, but still not quite the home run I'd hoped it would be.

The only complaint I have about it is the position of the headset earphones. They are a bit in front of my ears instead of right over my ears... I've been told I have a huge head, however, so your mileage will vary; especially if your head is of a normal human size. :)

This thing is AWESOME. It actually works!! The memory foam is so soft and comfy. I sleep on my side so I was worried about the speaker digging into my ear while I slept, but it is very well buffered and I can't even feel it. I loved it so much I bought 2 more for Christmas gifts. Great idea but doesn't quite work out. The thick memory foam makes it hard to sleep in (and that darn memory foam smell what is that?) The sound quality isn't too shabby but you really have to tighten it to block out any sound and to get the headphones on the ears the mask has to be so low on the nose it's a bit uncomfortable. For sitting upright in a car with not too much other noise just fine, but it the driver wants any music it's a bit load and for sleeping? again the giant slab of foam makes it a bit awkward. I use it for hypnosis where I am partially sitting up and in a quiet place but it doesn't help for sleep or masking my partners snoring...

I gave it 3 instead of 2 for the sound and ease of use.

I purchased this item from ABC distribution through Amazon 5 weeks ago. They sell this product using a long list of machines one of which is the one I have. What I received resembles the picture but is twice the size that works in my machine. Contacted the company through Amazon and they responded that they would send me a return label and replace with the correct filters. Waited 3 1/2 wks. No label,no further correspondence. Called them direct. The person who answered the phone couldn't wait to get off the line. Told me they would send me a label and replace the filters with the right ones. Still waiting! It isn't the product which is exactly the same as my unit uses. It's the size and the vendor selling them. Too little information on too wide a variety of machines. One size does not fit all.

I have a REMStar Pro. These filters DO NOT FIT! Way too big, despite being listed as the correct filter. Tried cutting them to size, they then de-laminated and fell apart. Filters are of a good quality, reseller just too lazy to list the correct match of machine to filter. Wont do business with them again. Not worth the cost of postage to send them back.

Make sure you get the right size filter. If not, you will have to pay for the return postage and by that point any savings will be moot.
