If I can't sleep I have a prescription for it, yet try to take Ambien as little as possible as your body can get "used" to it and need it. I typically sleep very well. I only have difficulty sleeping if there are too many things on my mind or if I wake up in the middle of the night and can't go back to sleep, such as in a bad dream.My husband sees no issue taking Ambien ALL the time. We look at medications differently. However, once he found this, he began using it instead and liked it better. He had no clue it was natural. He believes natural things don't work. He then read the box and was floored. Once he said it was natural and chewable I took his offer to try taking two one night when I couldn't sleep because I DO believe natural is healthier but I can admit sometimes it doesn't work as well.
I actually could feel myself going into a dream state and slept great.
I typically use these for those times I wake up in the middle of the night and can't sleep. I find that Ambien at these times isn't a good choice because then I sleep too long. These don't have any residual effect the next morning. I can still wake up early and get to working with no drowsiness at all. No way could I do that with Ambien. I can take Ambien at bedtime or just after. With these, it can be 4am and I can still take them and wake up fine. Now granted I'll take them at bedtime too if needed...I have put aside the prescription and what a savings!
I"m not crazy about the taste, to be sure...almost like chewing a flavored antacid...it's a tad chalky. But I can absolutely say they work. I didn't trust my experience with them the first few times as I had never heard of them and couldn't imagine anything over the counter and natural resulting in sleep.
I've given these MANY trial periods because of that and slept like a baby each time. When I wake up after a nightmare, the dogs notice I'm up and everyone gets moving in bed and thinking it's morning...and I can't shut my mind off. This is the only way I can. I chew a couple and fall right to sleep...but when the alarm sounds, I can still wake up. That is exactly what I need them for and I feel them a far healthier and less addictive choice than the alternative.
For both my husband and myself they simply WORK shockingly well.
If I get up and take another I can usually go back to sleep.
