I just received my light box. I had been anxiously waiting for it since it had gotten such great reviews. I unpacked it and it does not have an US style power plug. I called Philips Respironics and after waiting for quite a while the representative curtly said that that was a discontinued product and they could do nothing about it. I guess I will have to return it to amazon. What a disappointment.

I purchased this for my wife. She prefers this full spectrum light box over the GoLite Blue Light unit, although the Sun Touch is substantially larger than the GoLite. This product is relatively lightweight for its size, easy to handle, and durable. I would recommend it for depression treatments.

I have this attached to a power timer such that it comes on 30 minutes before my alarm clock. I then do my morning routine.

You know that feeling when you wake up in bed to the sun streaming in your window? How that can make your whole day? Well that's what waking up to this light is. It didn't have the same effect on me when I tried keeping it on my desk at work. For some reason, the benefit for me REALLY kicked in when I woke up to it. Seattle mornings are pretty yucky :)

Anyway, even just a couple of days of a brighter mood made this an extremely worthwhile purchase. My advice is to wake up to it and be around it in the morning(even if that means less than an hour of exposure) rather than focusing on the quantity of hours. Or at least, try the wakeup approach in addition to the "on my desk at work" approach before settling on one.

Anyway ... in conclusion, it's a great way to wake up and definitely has the potential to brighten your mood, which can make you more productive, etc. I know it's not a placebo effect, because it didn't work for me when it was just on my desk.
