The quality of Quiet Time ear plugs had obviously gone way down, and I noticed that the noise reduction rating had been lowered from 33 to 31 decibels. I e-mailed the company to complain, and they suggested I return the poor-quality earplugs for a refund. They also said that they were going back to their old supplier, and they sent me some of the good-old 33-decibel ear plugs at no charge. Pretty good customer service. I'm editing this rating, and I would now add more stars to it if I could.

I've tried both the 33db and the 31db ear plugs. This sounds counterintuitive, but the 31db ones are MUCH better. Why? In their expanded state, they're smaller than the 33s, and are just the right size for them to be comfortable for extended wear. I sleep in a high-noise environment, and both the 31 and 33s block out noise just fine, but the 33s will wake me up at night because they hurt my ears. I wake up well-rested with the 31s, so I hope they won't stop making them.

I was sent the incorrect earplugs. The advertisement clearly shows the 33 decibel

plugs. I received the old 31 decibel plugs. Those 2 decibels and the newest manufacturing make a huge difference. I am going to request my money back.

Unfortunately the neighborhood around me which use to be peaceful and quiet for the most part has very much declined since the economy have taken a dive and people live at lease 8 or more in each house with their relatives like a dorm room.I'm surrounded directly by at lease 3 or more neighbors who are very difficult are extremely loud (which sadly the police do nothing about). They blast their loud bass music in their houses and cars constantly through out all hours of the day and night, they have a lot of barking dogs, and kids (including some adults) yelling and screaming constantly out in the street. It's like living in a war zone 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

I plan on relocating out of this neighborhood soon, In the meantime these earplugs help tremendously to drown out the noise and I am able to think clearly,sleep and study without practically losing my mind listing to the surrounding nuisance.. I recommend using these earplugs ( I like the Flents "Quiet Please" as well) especially if you live in a dorm, loud apartment complex, or if you have noise sensitivity.

I used these for years and have no problems but they changed the formula and the amount of sound reduced is practically useless. They used to work amazing. I still had some of the old ones and comparing them, the old one were denser and had a smooth surface, which as a one using plugs for decades, is nice for the clean value, the ones with pores seem to get dirty much faster. The new ones had lots of pores and were extremely soft and squishy, which sounds good but without the density, the amount of sound blocked is much less. If you want very little sound blocked and or have really tiny ear holes they may be fine for you.
