ghd Gold Styler Iron, Black, 1"

The "GHD" I received was NOT factory sealed. Then the hologram sticker appeared to be peeling off. I'm not willing to spend that much money and have things seems fishy. I'll order from an authorized GHD dealer and spend the extra money.

I wanted to update this after I received my flat iron directly from GHD.

So, my GHD Gold Professional styler arrived and it was also not sealed. So that part maybe wasn't such a big deal. Not sure why GHD does not seal this product. The styler I was replacing was a GHD classic styler and when I bought that it was sealed with a sticker on both ends. So at first I though maybe I'd jumped to conclusions on the one I ordered from amazon. They looked about the same and I was even considering changing my review when I decided I should turn it on before I wrote this. Glad I did. The one I received from GHD lit up with the letters GHD on the switch. The one I received from amazon did not. Also it flashed twice and then after about 20 seconds chimed again (to say it was hot) and the light stayed lit. The amazon one did none of this. The hologram sticker was obviously not peeling and I did notice one other thing. The GHD that came direct came with a card saying to register the styler at ghdhair.com/register

The amazon one didn't have this either. So if you DO get one from amazon try to register it.

Did it hurt paying $225 for this instead of the amazon price? Absolutely but I'd do it again.1. I know my product is real. 2. I know my product is not a refurbish (which I think the amazon may have been) 3. Because it's real and new I get a 2 year warranty with GHD.

I buy a LOT of items on amazon that I'm happy with but I don't recommend buying this here.

I'd give this product 5 stars but will not because it does NOT have

the ability to adjust the temperature to lower it. It's a consistent heat

but much too too hot for my fine hair. For the price of this, it should be able

to and I had to return it for a flat iron that has adjustable heat.

I wish I knew this before buying so I wanted to put my small warning

out there if you have fine hair like mine.

Otherwise, it's a great tool if you like high heat!

My hair is dead. Straight. I cannot do anything to it. If I braid my hair, twist it up in buns, sleep with curls pinned in it over night, spray it with spray after a few hours of being down it will fall completely flat. I bought the GHD after admiring my friend's hair. I thought she had natural beautiful waves and she told me her secret: the GHD. Make sure you don't buy a bootleg version. The real deal will not disappoint you. I curl my hair in the morning and add nice natural looking waves in under 10 minutes. The shape lasts for DAYS. Literally I could go a whole weekend without having to do anything to it. Take care of this item it is worth the hefty chunk of change. I love it!

I love this Styler! Where do I start? Heats up super fast, easy to use, not heavy, and works great on my fine-textured hair. I use it mostly to "bend" my hair as opposed to straightening it. A curling iron curls too much for me, so this is actually the perfect product. My daughter purchased the exact same Styler from Sephoria for alot more money. I was worried, because of the price difference ($225 vs $92), that my purchase might not authentic. But, it definitely is the real deal! I had no trouble registering my Styler with Ghd. And it is exactly like my daughter's! I would highly recommend anyone considering this purchase to go ahead, you'll never regret it.
