I took 5-htp by itself for over 6 months, loved it. This stuff really came to my rescue. I was going through a rough time and seeing a doctor to obtain a proper prescription was not an option. I did my research and found out about this stuff. I take this because I suffer from mild to moderate depression. I have found myself to be a bit, just a bit more optimistic than I normally am. The true upside to this product is the amazing dreams that I experience every night. Sex dreams and dreams where I have super powers. I have been prescribed anti-depression drugs in the past and they didn't really do anything for me like this does. Again, only mild improvement in behavior, but the dreams kick ass.

I was on Lexapro for a few months but hated the side effects. I slowly got off the Lexapro, which wasn't any fun. Once off the Lexapro, I felt like I needed something still to help control the anxiety so I started taking 50mg of 5-HTP. It seemed to help almost right away.
