Background: my dentist diagnosed me with bruxism and TMJ disorder, apparently he thinks stress caused it but i don't recall any stressful times. I was having difficulties day to day with fatigue, headaches, cervical spine pain, jaw pops and clicks, slight jaw locking at full opening, sore jaw muscles, and fatigued jaw muscles. My masseter jaw muscle is built up really big and protrudes when my jaw is clenched from this condition. My insurance wouldn't pay $500 for the guard he wanted to custom make and hell i would rather they cover that than my cleaning.

The Product: after my first night using this, i woke up with NO jaw pain or soreness, which i had almost every morning. I have been using this about 15 nights now and I honestly have eliminated every symptom but the tmj clicking when opening my mouth. I can now chew food without muscle fatigue, because if you have these conditions bad, chewing a lot begins to fatigue the jaw. Upon opening the guard from the box, it looked so small i thought i had been ripped off. I couldn't imagine it would help me this much. The only bad i can say is it fell out of my mouth one night.

A tip i can give, when you are fitting the product make sure the cold water touches the side that will touch your palate. Another side note, at the same time i also purchased a mouth guard for lifting heavy weights because i tend to clench when exerting a maximal effort and that may have helped me too.

This is a pricey mouth guard, but well worth the money. I wouldn't try to get by on the cheapest bite guard available.

I have severe bruxism (grinding teeth) which has resulted in major dental problems and severe pain. In the past I have had expensive dental custom made versions which were fine until ongoing dental work changed how they fit. I have tried several "night guards" and this one has been the most helpful. I initially found the fitting process difficult but ultimately was able to get an acceptable fit. I emailed the doctor who invented this device about my difficulty with getting the correct fit and he explained that I could go through the process several times to fit it correctly and that if I was unable to do that, he would send me another one free of charge. because i have tmj, grind and clench my teeth, i ordered this product, and it seemed to have the highest

rating amongst sleeping mouthguards.

at first, i had some difficulty molding it right.

however, after molding it right, i've tried for 5days, and it worked amazingly. my jaw didnt hurt anymore.

but since the mouthguard shape became weird due to multiple attempt, i asked for another one to the

manufacturer, and he kindly said he would send me a new mouthguard. i was really impressed.

but this product and customer service after the purchase is just amazing. i strongly recommend smartguard to

those people who are suffering from jaw pain from grinding and clenching teeth.

i know it's not the cheapest mouthguard you can find, but i'm telling you. this product is worth every penny.

you do not need a customized mouthguard that costs hundreds of dollars if you have smartguard.

i really regret for not finding out this product earlier. i could've saved so much money.

if you wasted so much money on mouthguards just like me, don't even hesitate on smartguard and just buy it.

it feels very comfortable, and does its job much better than most of mouthguards out on the market, even

better than customized ones.

I orderd the package of 2 original smartguards.im a clincher and my husband is a grinder. Our dentist wanted to make special mouth guard for each of us. It was out of our price range because our insurance woulnt cover it. My jaw feels so much better when i wake up. My husband is a picky person and he said it doesnt bother him when he sleeps. I bought this item more than a month ago to help with my ever-worsening TMJ. I found that if I chewed gum for an hour or so (something I used to do a lot of), my jaw would sometimes lock in an open position, and I literally had to close it with my hands.
