It's best to take melatonin at the lowest effective dose. I've found this has eliminated any need to take breaks and any side effects like vivid dreams. So I am pleased to have found a quality .5 mg. dose in this product. I've been using it for years. Check pricing though to see which Amazon seller has the best price (including shipping).
My doctor recommended this brand on the basis that their quality control and dose regulation is much better than everybody else out there.
The results were immediate and obvious. I take two pills (1mg) daily at 8pm and I sleep fine. I've been through everything else out there -prescription and OTC, legal and otherwise, dozens of brands of melatonin pills at a range of doses. Nothing has worked anywhere near this well and consistently.

I don't know if the Source Naturals melatonin that I have been taking is overly powerful or this Pure Encapsulations melatonin is weak, but this product does nothing for my sleep. I take half a tablet of the 1mg SN and it puts me out for the night. If I take one 0.5mg capsule of PE, however, I am tossing and turning all night.
