Relaxso Stereo ASLEEP Pillow Speaker, Micro Fleece Violet

This is the third pillow-speaker I've owned.

The quality of the pillow and the speakers is top notch. There is just enough padding to make the speakers comfortable, but not so much the sound is obscured. The Pillowsonic Stereo Pillow Speaker, by comparison, has thin foam padding, and the Sangean Pillow Speaker (White) has none. (The Sangean is a thick plastic rock.)

No complaints about sound quality. The nature of the padding allows you to move around quite a bit and still hear the sound. The Pillowsonic and Sangean have a lot of dead zones where the pressure of your head or the pillow mutes the speaker.

My only gripe is that the cord is ridiculously short and cheap. It barely reaches my iPhone on the nightstand. Twice now I've snagged the cord as I was rolling over causing the phone to leap into the air and smash into my head. (It's in the drawer, now, but this means another snag will probably pull the cord apart.) The cord itself is extremely thin. and bends 90 degrees at the jack. Higher quality cords have strain relief to make the cord bend in an arc instead of sharp angles. (Sharp angle bends break the wire)

If you are handy with wire cutters, I strongly recommend an extension cord: Aurum Cables 3.5mm Car Stereo Auxiliary Male to Female. It will improve usability and may extend the life of the speakers.

[UPDATE] I DON'T recommend that you cut into the pillow to completely replace the wire. Inside the pillow is an unexpectedly complicated layering of foam and cloth. You'll never get it back together properly. I completely destroyed one pillow trying this.

Super comfy. Good sound. Can hear music and books easily. I use it w my Droid phone & it works perfectly. The cord is medium-ish. I could put the phone on a nightstand but I'm sure it would be pulled off in the middle of the night when I flop around. I leave the phone next to my pillow on the bed and it works perfectly.

I'm cheap so I though $18 + $5 shipping was a bit steep but it's worth it because I sleep so much better without a cord wound around my neck chocking me in the middle of the night.

Not alot of options out there for something like this. I am SUPER happy w this one & will definitly order again when this one goes to the great speaker in the sky.

I have used pillow speakers for years to lull me to sleep. I have tried cheep ones from Radio Shack as well as a better one from Crane. This one is the best for several reasons. It is not one speaker but two which provides stereo sound. The bass is reproduced quite well for a speaker this size. What I really like about it is that the speakers come in a thin "pillow" that, once in place, does not shift around. I added additional cord with a volume control for my own ease of use. The cord provided is a bit short but the solution is cheap. I highly recommend this pillow speaker.

Update: though they sound great, i found that the wires are easy to pull out and i'm now ordering another type of piloow speaker. this one didn't last a year. I also found that the fixed position of each speaker was too wide for my head. would not recommend.

I was considering making my own pillow speaker as I had done long ago, but after reading the reviews and comparing to other products, this seemed to be what I was looking for and it is even better. My home-grown solution previously was just a single speaker but this gives you stereo sound (although since my wife is a light sleeper, I can't use that at night due to the extra volume needed).

The speakers are fairly comfortable and don't add too much bulk to your pillow. I slide mine under my pillowcase to keep it in place better. I typically listen to just one speaker at a time at low volume at night and it works great for that. I read other reviews about the quality of the cable and plug but I don't see any need for it to be any different. Wearing headphones at night, I would often break the headphones tossing and turning, but with this solution your tossing and turning doesn't tug on anything so there isn't any risk of breaking the cord under normal use. Just put your mp3 player under your pillow and all stays in place. Perhaps the cord could be a little longer, but it is sufficient for most needs. Any extra needed you can just buy an extender.

I actually like the simple but ingenious elastic loop for coiling the cord neatly when storing or traveling with the unit as well.

Clear crisp sound from this wonderful pillow speaker. Dual speakers encased securely within fabric, approximately 12" x 5". What I love about this specific pillow speaker is that its flat! No hard bump under your pillow. I have bought other pillow speakers from other companies and although they have worked well, they were extremely uncomfortable under the pillow. Manic Panic Semi-Permanent Color Cream

I've had Manic Panic hair for at least a year now and I cannot stop raving about this product! I've used maybe 6 of their colors and I'll review them all for anyone who's curious :)

Vampire Red LOVE the potency of this color. I had light brown hair and without bleaching it I have bright as day blood red hair. It's awesome! The downside for this color is since it is red, it will fade faster than other colors. Any sort of red hair requires constant upkeep, but it is worth it!

Raven One of my favorites! Unlike most of Manic Panic's colors it does not fade to a weird shade other than black, it's black for a super long time and will NOT run in the shower.

Rock N Roll Red Good, but not the best. Gives more of an orangey tint to the hair, whereas Vampire Red will fade to a dark pink. Washes out quickly but the biggest downside is the orange tint.

Atomic Turquoise If you want full affect you Definitely need to bleach, if you don't, brown hair will be more green than blue!

Wildfire Eh. Not my favorite at all. VERY orange and doesn't stay for very long, not as potent as most of the other reds.

Electric Lizard AWESOME! Very nice green shade.

Ultraviolet Good, for a few days. Fades to blue very quickly :/

I ordered Cotton Candy Pink a while back from Amazon, however I normally use Passion Red, Hot Hot Pink, or After Midnight Blue (once). I dye my naturally brown hair with Manic Panic dyes only because they are semi-permanent.

In order to get the color, I wash my hair using a harsh dish washing soap like Ajax or regular soap like a Dial bar twice to strip it. No conditioner. I then dry my hair on high and straighten it on high without heat protector. Why? To get it as DRY as possible without straight up burning it. Any products will block the dye. Don't worry, Manic Panic dyes will rehydrate your hair. I then take my dye of choice (Passion Red is my favorite, it fades nice!) and cover my hair fully with dye, applying it thickly so it has a lot to soak up. 9+ inch thick/12+ inch thin hair may need more than one jar for the right affect. (I have very thick hair and when I started dying it reached my lower back! Two jars!)

Leave the dye in at least 9 hours, preferably 12 depending on color. More than 12 may be the best thing to do, but the dye is harder to was out after 12 hours. These dyes are free of harsh chemicals so they are safe for you to leave in. I usually do this at like 7 PM, then cover my hair with a shower cap to sleep.

Another tip I read from the Manic Panic website is using the hair drying for 5 minutes every hour or so (before I go to bed.) The heat is supposed to help.

When you wash your hair for the first time, try to use cool water. Don't use shampoo the first wash. You can use conditioner after you have washed your roots good! I find that leaving it in so long means I spend a while getting the excess out.

Remember, an unnatural color on natural hair is not going to last as long as it would on bleached hair. After the second wash it begins to fade. The longer you left the dye in, the less it will fade between washes. I try to go 2-3 days without washing it the first two weeks to keep it longer.

Tips for not dying your face, bedding, etc.:

* I purchased a cream from Sally's that claimed to protect your skin from dyes. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't(?), but it was cheap ($2) so not a complete waste if your forehead may not be pink for 2 days.

* In case it leaks from the cap while sleeping, place a dark towel on your pillow or buy a dark case.

* When you wash your hair there may be some residue left after the first wash and when you towel dry it you find your nice white towels are now pink! If bleach within an hour it should save the towel, but after that it's ruined.

My Individual Color Experiences:

* Cotton Candy Pink did not turn out well. It is a light color and will best be achieved in bleach hair, I think. I left it in 12 hours. Don't follow my instructions and use this color if you're a brunette, it's tacky. :\ And it faded fast!

* Passion Red has had the best results for getting the right color and lasting. I left it in 12 hours. It also fades to a natural looking red color on brunettes before finally returning me to my roots! Last day of red was about 3 weeks later.

* Hot Hot Pink did not get completely the right shade, as should be expected with a pink in brown hair. I left it in only 9-10 hours though. It was a pretty pink and lasted as long as Passion Red.

* After Midnight Blue was gorgeous! Lasted weeks! And your brown hair is permanently green afterwords. Lol. I'm so glad I only streaked it in two places. I think I only left the dye in for 5 hours? But it's been a while back. A year later and a new hair cut, I no longer am asked randomly when standing in the sun, "Hey, Wait... did you dye your hair green?"

Everyone seems to pay no mind to this shade "New Rose"....they see the "Cotton candy, and Hot Hot pink" and how bright it is in the bottle, and choose those. When with hair dye, the reverse is true. I have used manic panic for 28 yrs. Yes, I'm a 48 yr old woman and the great thing about this product is that the age requirements are lax. I started with pillarboxred and then onto purples and pinks. This will be my first time ever having green hair. I've seen photos of people wearing this color and I think it's the green I'm in the mood for. And possibly a splash of purple with that. Good stuff, lasts a long time. Not sure how the green works for some, but Manic Panic has been a long time friend of my hair.

These work great, 1-2x a week. I was skeptical about the slow release delivery method. But, it truly is slow release. If it weren't, i'd wake up at 3am, as I do when taking non-slow released melatonin. This slow released melatonin keeps me asleep all night. Keep in mind, you quickly build up a tolerance. These drinks are excellent and far superior to any sleeping pills I've taken in the past, and personally I love the taste too. I look forward to it not only for what it will do for my sleep that night but it tastes really good to me so its kind of my night-time treat too.

The problem with the sleeping pills I've taken, all over the counter, is that they always put me to sleep but without fail i wake up in middle of the night and I'm wide awake. Now a twelve pack lasts me well over a month which makes using these drinks on a long term basis much more realistic. I hope my review helps someone else too.

I was excited to try this product after my positive experience with the NeuroSonic energy/focus drink from this line. I use this on nights I'm not tired and need to wake up early for the next day.

MY SLEEP SITUATION:

I have the issue of being relatively tired in the evening and then getting a "second wind" around 10, which causes me to want complete tasks when I should be sleeping or winding down for bed. If I'm not watching the clock I can be up till 2 A.M. doing random around the house or reading articles. When I do sleep I also have nights where I wake up multiple times to shift around on my bed, which is disruptive to my sleep cycle. To address this, I have tried a variety of sleep shots, drinks, supplements, and teas. Many of them are not strong enough, do not keep me asleep the duration of the night, make it extremely difficult to wake up in the morning, or make me feel like a zombie when I am awake.

TASTE (10/10):

Now I will begin to tell you about this refreshing sleep drink. This lightly carbonated liquid is easy to drink (I consider it "chuggable") with a soft flavor that reminds me of strawberries and tangerines. The taste does slightly linger in the mouth for a bit, but it's a pleasant taste either way.

PERFORMANCE (10/10):

For this drink to work, I have to cooperate as well and hop into bed with the lights out. If I don't do this, the drink doesn't reach its potential. The first effect is a relaxed feeling within 10 minutes of consumption. About 15-25 minutes after drinking 1/3 to 1/2 of the bottle, my eyes to start getting very heavy. At this point I can be watching an interesting show and nothing can keep me from passing out. It feels great when I am falling asleep from this, like a well deserved rest. I do not wake up in the middle of the night after drinking NeuroSleep and feel like I get more out of my sleep. I also do not feel overly tired waking up as long as I have 7 hours or more to sleep. I have drank NeuroSleep many times but never get to the second half of my drink because I fall asleep, so I actually get 2-3 uses out of a bottle. I'd imagine the effects are stronger when you drink the entire bottle before bed.

COST (7/10):

I pay 2.39 for a 1 serving, 14.5 oz bottle. Even if it was 1.99 I'd feel a lot better about the price, but that is just a personal opinion. The price does not keep me from purchasing the product 1-2 times a week and I am able to split one serving.

Overall, this is a great sleep aid drink which I'd recommend to people who have trouble falling or staying asleep and want to stay away from prescription sleep aids.

This product actually works!! I don't leave reviews for anything, but Neuro Sleep earned one. I work shift work so it is very hard for me to get a set sleep schedule and that has affected things at home, I feel I'm always tired. Acupressure Shakti Mat

I see the American reviewers are much more positive about the mat than the British. But I agree with you Americans on this point.

I have used it naked (otherwise I can't feel the spikes) and up to an hour at a time, though I began gradually.

At first it feels extremely painful. though I suspect this appplies only to us unhealthy people who are already suffering from this and that and have intense need of stimulation of the various points. (My 12-year old granddaughter when trying out a Shakti cushion claimed she felt no pain when using it while other members of the family adults felt it to be extremely uncomfortable.) However after about ten minutes, generally, the pain subsides and one can hardly feel it. In my case, however, when using the mat on the buttocks, firstly, it was more painful than usual, and secondly, the pain at first did not subside, though it does now slightly, though only after a long time.

When exposing only the back area to the mat, after about ten minutes I generally feel a wonderful, extremely comfortable inner heat spread throughout the area, similar to leaning on a hot water bottle, but as stated a deep inner warmth. The feeling is almost orgasmic it feels like the exposed cells are feeling ecstatic, and extremely satisfied. This is a wonderful feeling in fact I'm becoming addicted to use of this mat!

I suffer from MS and several other auto-immune diseases. I had had most of my left buttock numb for several years. After about three applications of the mat on my back (not buttocks) suddenly my left buttock felt normal. This was fantastic. Also when being scanned with something called Meta therapy (a treatment used in Russia and other East European countries for about 20 years in their hospitals something I get done regularly in Denmark where I live but not administered by doctors!), it could be seen that my heart and circulation were extremely improved, apparently functioning perfectly. The therapist found it amazing and told me to use the mat twice a day from then on. However, I don't generally do that.I use it when I can, and when I feel like it. But the improvement that occurred did so after only a handful of "treatments".

Sometimes I feel extremely relaxed after using the mat, though I don't always notice this effect.

I'm not saying this mat is a miracle worker, but it definitely has an extremely beneficial effect, and I feel that users should try it out on various parts of the body. I feel that the more health problems one has, the greater will be the benefit. But even if you do not suffer from severe health problems, use of the mat will surely have an immense preventive effect.

I recommend it highly. Who knows what its use could lead to in the way of dramatic health improvement?

I've only had the mat for a few weeks, but I am using it regularly and found it to really help with relaxation. It does take some getting used to, and still sometimes can be too sharp for me depending on how I lie on it (more intense when on side; more diffused on back). That said, I've fallen asleep on it a couple of times and found it's helped with back and hip pain, too. If you are interested in alternative methods for pain relief or stress reduction, then I'd recommend it. However, it's not like just getting a blissful massage-it's definitely more like drinking a tea that helps you relax but still has a bitter taste.

It really is a wonderful product. I use it regularly, with relaxing music, and always feel invigorated afterward. And as far as it being faddish, I understand what the other reviewer is trying to convey...but if you're into maintaining your health or improving it, I recommend it. Transparent Heart Shaped Hot Water Bottle- Made in Germany

I honestly thought I'd been sent a child's size or manufacturer's sample in error. This is the smallest hot water bottle I've EVER owned in my life and I have a grown-up daughter. It seems well made, though has an ugly white thing (not shown in their photos) so you don't lose the cap. If I decide to keep this I'll cut that sucker off. Seriously tiny. Don't know what else to say. You could warm one foot at a time I suppose. And I am not a large person. Actually, ridiculous is a better word. Hot water bottles are for taking the chill off a bed or easing and comforting aches and pains. I have chewed these a couple of times when I was very restless. I don't think it was a placebo effect, but I definitely relaxed after taking them. Normally I am so highly skeptical of any type of medication that there is seldom a placebo effect. In fact I normally dismiss any kind of effect at all unless it knocks my socks off. So that being said, I didn't pass out or feel super groovy, but I did notice a reduced edge to the nerves and stress. It won't replace valium, but if this works for you, it is probably far healthier!

Well I'm not really sure if this works or not, but every time I take them, I do feel a sense of calm come over me after about 15 minutes or so. One thing I do like about them is, unlike other homeopaths I've tried, the instructions don't make a big deal about how to handle the pills themselves. Other homeopaths I've tried insist on a near sterile handling of the pills. But these ones are chewable and I don't have to feel like a doctor prepping for surgery just to get a couple out of the box! Another good thing is they have a mild, benign taste not too sweet or sour or anything like that. I guess whether it's a placebo or not doesn't matter if I'm actually feeling more calm. And with all the stress I have in my life as a disabled person, it certainly couldn't hurt. At least it doesn't come with a long list of side effects. One last thing I'd like to mention that I liked as well, is the box itself it has a neat slide-out feature, which I like prefer over the standard plastic bottles like other homeopaths I've used.

Bottom Line -These pills are decent although they may not be prescription or industrial strength; but I'd buy these again because I enjoyed how much easier it was to use than other homeopaths I've tried in the past... and they taste good, and I believe the act of just chewing them has a calming effect on me.

I should start by saying that I use homeopathic medicines on a regular basis. I believe in them, but not all of them work for me. Arnica works for me. Traumeel works amazingly for me. For stress relief, I usually use flower essences (Rescue Remedy), but I thought I would give this a try as an alternative. I found the packaging of this brand to be frustratingly difficult to open and use. The tablets do not come out easily and the packaging is big and offers no protection from the moisture/humidity of our sub-tropical climate. At the end of the day, it is the product itself that has to perform. Unfortunately, this one did not. I returned to my standby of "Rescue Remedy". Having said that, I do believe that one man's medicine can be another man's poison so I would not write it off for everyone. However, this product did not do anything to relieve my stress so I can not recommend it.

I've been chewing on these things for about a week now, and, as far as I can tell, their effectiveness is relatively mild. There does seem to be a calming effect, but I still feel on the verge of an ulcer most days. In fairness I should add that I'm at a particularly stressful juncture, currently preparing to graduate/begin graduate studies, with not enough hours in the day to finish the umpteen projects I need to have finished within the next 3 weeks.

One thing I will give them credit for is helping me to sleep sounder at night. For a couple of years now I've not been able to sleep without some type of over-the-counter sleep product. Plantar Fascitis Night Splint Heel & Foot Pain; P.F. Brace

Hello,

I've had Plantar Fascitis for over a year now. Finally a few months ago, I read about night splints online and decided to try them. I tried two other night splints before this one, the Futuro Plantar Fascitis Sleep Support and the Strassburg Sock, both of which failed to keep my foot at a 90 degree angle at night and relieve pain the morning. I regret wasting my money on those. Then I decided to try a "boot" like one instead and got this one because it was the cheapest. I've worn it for a week and can feel the difference and its a very good product. It keeps my feet virtually immobilized and once you get it adjusted, putting it on or taking it off is easy, you just undo the buckles. Takes 5 seconds, even in the middle of the night. Also, its pretty comfortable too, but at this point I am used to wearing foot contraptions to bed. I am definitely considering purchasing a second to prevent PF from reoccurring in my other foot.

My only problems with this product are that if I put in the removable wedge (for extra stretching), my foot goes numb and it takes a bit of time to figure out the correct adjustment of the straps that will keep you foot in place but won't cut off circulation. Also, its pretty big, which makes it not so portable.

I'm struggling with plantar fasciitis (pf). I tried the Futuro soft splint first the only way to make it work was to adjust it so tightly that your foot and toes went numb and I couldn't sleep the night in it. I also found that the soft splint would never hold my foot in the right position all night which is critical. The splint I'm reviewing here is significantly better. It definitely holds your foot in the right position and I have noticed an improvement after only 3 days of using it I wake up with little or no pain from the pf. I have found that I can walk in this splint (short trips to the bathroom) and it's not too bad to sleep in. The one drawback is that sometimes it can be uncomfortable and a few times the discomfort has actually woken me up in the night. I don't consider that a showstopper you're wearing a contraption to bed so I don't expect it to be completely comfortable and I consider it worth it to fight the pf. Overall this is a good product at a good price and I recommend it.

As a newer runner training for long distance triathlons I began having trouble with PF. Last winter after I finished (barely) an Ironman, my doctor recommended I simply stop running for a month. I had no upcoming events, so I did that, and it worked. Up until a month or so ago. I have been building up mileage towards an 18 mile trail run in September and once again the PF has returned. This time I want to treat it before the event, rather than suffer through and rest afterwards. So I bought this night split.

The first thing I found out is that there are some quality and sizing issues:

Quality: The middle strap does not lock tightly.. one side of it pulls loose. It stays put, barely, so I decided not to return it and try it out for awhile. This may just be a minor issue with my particular unit, so I wouldn't say it's a reason not to purchase. The rest of the boot seems to be solidly built.

Sizing: I wear a 9 or 9 1/2 men's shoe, so I am right in the middle of the Men's Medium (8 to 10 1/2). Yet my toes come right up to and my big toe sticks out over the edge of the padding. Anybody with a 10 or 10 1/2 foot would actually need to buy a large. While this part is too short, the straps are too long. I have them strapped down as tightly as they will go and they barely hold my foot in place. Maybe I have really skinny legs? I doubt it.. I have fairly well developed runner's calves and a normal width foot. I suppose I could cut down the padding to get them a little tighter, but this should be designed better.

So far I have only worn the splint for an hour or two at a time. I have not tried to sleep in it overnight. Laying down in it is indeed fairly uncomfortable, but I expected that. Let's face it, if you strap any kind of foreign object to your body and try to sleep, it's going to feel strange and disruptive. The boot does indeed provide some relief, while it is on. Whether I'll be able to use it long enough to actually relieve symptoms is still a big question. I'm still tinkering with how much of a stretch to put on the foot by moving the wedge around. Too much and it causes numbness in the toes. Too little and it doesn't do much at all. I guess it's just a matter of trial and error.

I guess I would say this product is good enough to give a try, but expect your mileage to vary on the results.

I had a night splint I got from a Podiatrist several years back, but seem to have misplaced in a recent move, and ordered this as a replacement. It has all the same straps across calf, ankle and foot, and up the sides. it's easily adjustable and everything attaches with velcro. One surprise also included is a small white wedge under the toe, which I must have missed in the product description, a nice addition.

The only reason I didn't give a 5 here is that I generally wear a women's size 9 shoe, and my toe comes all the way to the end of the splint. A fit for me, but if you have a wide foot, or normally wear a 9 1/2 you might want to consider the large splint.
