Homedics Sound Spa Mini Portable Sound Machine

I used to have a full-size Homedics sound machine that ran off electricity. This sounds EXACTLY the same as the full-size one AND it has a count-down timer. Considering the price I paid for this, I got a really good deal and am very pleased with the product. What I'll never understand, though, is why the manufacturer thought it was necessary to put a really tiny screw on the battery door cover (when the door stays closed without the screw). I've seen screws on the battery covers of toys and batteries that children can easily swallow (like watch batteries), but not on something that takes three AAA batteries. I actually had to go buy a special screwdriver just to get the battery door-cover open.

You cant beat the price, but I was a little disappointed by the quality of the sounds. It would be great for taking with you on vacation, etc, but I will be looking for another machine for home use.

Purchased this portable sound machine to use for my baby. He loves it. So far, it works well. I needed to replace the batteries after 3 days but it still works ok.

What a waste of money. I can only hear it if I hold it up directly-smack dab against my ear. And you need the TINIEST screw driver to undo the battery compartment which they don't provide. Who has a microscopic screw driver laying around the house for this? It was more trouble than it was worth to open the compartment and put the batteries in. I am returning it!

This product needs to say that it does NOT come with a cord and runs on batterys. The batteries are used up within just a few days of use. I am not happy that I purchased this product, and I'm not happy that Amazon was not more forthcoming wtih information.
