I've been using a CPAP for sleep apnea since 1994. Until recently my health insurance covered CPAP equipment and supplies, which I got from a sleep disorders clinic I was referred to. With the coverage that I have now, however, I'm responsible for buying the supplies. For some components of the system, I have bought generic parts, with mixed results, but to my knowledge, the ResMed foam filters for the S8 series are the only ones available, so I buy them.

When I change the filter (about twice a year), it's obvious that they're effective, since you can clearly see the collected dust on the blue foam that faces outward. I have tried to wash the filter and re-insert it in the S8, but these filters really weren't meant to be re-used, and washing them doesn't work very well.

Recently diagnosed with sleep apnea and I never even thought I wasn't sleeping well. I have this machine and don't think I could sleep without it now. The filters did not come with the machine and purchasing through Amazon was simple and delivery was quick.

Exactly the same as the one we are replacing. One package of 3 makes the replacements easier and more regular.
