We purchased this for my wife's back problem,,,,at night we just fill with warm to hot water and place it on the mattress and she then lies on top and receives the soothing medication of heat,,,,we don't fill entirely, just enough so she can receive the benefits without having the "bubble" effect of her old water bottle bag.....a wonderful investment that keeps paying for itself......
