This bed wedge is firm, exactly what I want and need to make sure my top half is elevated for easier breathing. A soft and squooshy bed wedge is not what is needed when a person has pneumonia. This bed wedge is perfect, tall enough at 12" to provide some real elevation and firm enough to keep most of its height when in use. I did not find it so firm as to be uncomfortable, however. I slept quite happily and breathed more freely on it.

The cover is plasticy feeling, but that's probably a good thing since icky bodily fluids which may be accidently deposited upon it won't soak in. A friend sewed me a wedge cover which took care of the tactile comfort problem.

My thanks to the previous reviewers for their input; they convinced me to buy the bed wedge because it was described as too firm.

I really like this wedge pillow, it is nice and firm as the other reviews stated. That's exactly what I wanted, because I'm actually using it for "other" bedroom purposes: positioning aid (it's *much* cheaper than the wedges sold at the intimacy clinics). The 12" height is just right.

This pillow is VERY firm and I actually have to put another pillow on top of it, but as far as the incline goes... it was exactly what I needed to breathe easier at night.

I am disabled so I spend a lot of time on my back watching TV. I was having severe neck pain from my shoulders not being supported all the time. Using 5 pillows to prop me up is cozy and comfortable, but it never gives proper support. I have now been using this for a month or better and man I have to tell you even if you don't have neck pain yet, buy one of these so you will never have to know that horrible disk pain that comes from poor posture over time. I don't use it to sleep, I just use it on the couch and in bed watching TV. It is absolutely the perfect product, it is very firm so your spinal column doesn't sink.

Honestly I have two regrets, one that I didn't buy this sooner and two that I didn't buy two of them because I'm constantly lugging it up and down the stairs, lol. Also, the dimensions are perfect for comfort too, not too low so you have to bend your neck and not too high so it prevents relaxation. If your on the fence, trust me take the plunge this is a wonderful product.

Very firm, but good for GERD. After using the pillow, my GERD improve a lot. I would strongly recommend that people use this pillow, and not to suffer heartburn, since mediation alone wont help.
