Serene Muscle Relaxant & Sleep Aid Tube (8 Capsules)

Serene Muscle Relaxant & Sleep Aid TubeI was glad for a speedy shipping and excited to get these. It came with a few sample packets, one packet including two more of these pills, so that was nice. Other than that the other two were for boosting metabolism, energy, decreasing appetite and stuff like that; wasnt so pleased about getting those in it, not that it really bothered me I just threw them out. I think for something that is supposed to be all natural and healthy, its not good to artificially bump up energy and decrease appetite. Also those said do not take if have heart problems, pregnant, so I did not feel safe taking them. Used to drink monsters and take nodoz until I realized how bad they are for my body, even if the ingredients were natural I dont want to unnaturally stimulate my body or kill my hunger, so I was less than thrilled about getting those, thanks anyways.

I bought a sleep mask from brookstone, which was super comfy & blocked out all light BUT was so thick and heavy it made my face hot. This mask doesn't fully block out light, but it's super comfortable and the scent is so relaxing it's impossible to not fall asleep wearing this! I love the design too, it's very cute!

Sleeping Beauty Value Pack, 30 Tablets,

Sleeping Beauty Value Pack, 30 Tablets,This sleeping aide has really been a blessing for me. While it does not always put me right to sleep, i am much quieter in my body

and can rest in bed without tossing and turning. But most of all, I feel so much better the next day. I always had such a hard

time feeling good in the morning, especially since my breast cancer diagnosis and chemotherapy. This supplement has done

wonders for me, and also for another member of our breast cancer support group. I highly recommend it!

I have serious sleep problems I honestly think my body's clock is completely screwed up and I'm meant to sleep during the day and stay up all night haha. These pills help but you have to be in bed ready to sleep or the effect passes you by right away. As soon as you feel that drowsiness use it! Good product would order again when I run out.

I tried Sleeping Beauty and was very satisfied with the product result. I definitely have sleep issues and this product worked by calming my body and allowing me get the sleep that was needed. The next day I did not have the "groggy" feeling that you have by taking other sleep aids. I like the ingredients listed and would use this product again and recommend this product to others in need of sleep!

I love this stuff. I don't have trouble getting to sleep but I have trouble staying asleep. Without this stuff I wake up a few times a night but with it I sleep right through. I wake up refreshed and have noticed that when I take it I am in a great mood the next day.

I'm sure Sleeping Beauty helped the other reviewers, but it didn't work for me. I woke up twice the first night I used it and four times the next day. My advice is to try a small box first.

Quietus CPAP Cloth Nasal Liner(30 Day Supply) Large QL-010NL FITS: Respironics ComfortGel, Comfort C

Quietus CPAP Cloth Nasal Liner(30 Day Supply) Large QL-010NL FITS: Respironics ComfortGel, Comfort Classic, Comfort Fusion, Profile LiteI have a problem with getting a rash on my face from the latex, so these really help a lot.

This is a diecut cloth that protects you from getting a mark on your face where your cpap mask seals against your skin.

For me, I would also get a rash so I tried the Nasal pillow type mask and I did not like it. I found these to go between my skin and mask and now I can use my regular Cpap mask and I have virtually no redness on my face. I have ordered a second time and went to a medium size as the cloth will shift if it is too loose around your nose. You can wash these. I used a mesh bag to put them in and put them through the wash cycle. They curled up so you will have to flatten them out again but you can re-use them.

Deep Sleep - 60 - Softgel

Deep Sleep - 60 - SoftgelI am very impressed with Deep Sleep. After taking Lunesta and Ambien CR for a year or two and noticing that my hair is thinning, I made a commitment to get off these drugs although lord knows they have given me the best sleep of my life (especially after losing my mom in Sept 2011). At any rate, I will admit I had a big fear about going off those drugs because it seemed like I just couldn't sleep without them. I went cold turkey (I know this is not recommended, but I didn't want to take another pill after researching and reading that it is probably the culprit in my thinning hair issue)and just could not sleep for days on end. Finally, I just couldn't take it anymore so I went searching in the health food stores and I bought over $300 worth of stuff to try. I only bought from places where I could get a refund when I open the product, because after previous attempts with herbs and teas (By the way, teas suck! they actually kept me up by making me go to the bathroom all night ;-( I knew it was going to be challenging to find something that works since I was taking those strong drugs. Well I found it! Can't believe this Deep Sleep stuff actually works! I just started using Deep Sleep on Sunday and today is Tuesday so I was even more surprised that it worked for me this soon. I am here looking at buying more at Amazon because they were more expensive at the store where I purchased them from here at home. I gave it four stars because it can never be like the drugs I was taking, but it's damn near. For this to be herbs, it sure works well which impresses me because it's been almost comparable to the drugs in terms of helping me get to sleep and stay asleep. My sleep isn't as deep as it was with the drugs, but it is good enough for me. To add, I feel refreshed in the morning whereas at times, I would feel groggy from the drugs if I took them too late at night.I am really glad Deep Sleep works! In fact, I figured that because I had been taking those powerful drugs for so long, herbs would be like baby food or sugarless candy in my system because of the strong effect they have had on how deep I sleep when I take them. Anyhow, I am very thankful that my preconceived notions about herbs and my skepticism didn't get the best of me because from now on Deep Sleep will definitely be the product for me. Final thought, I read that this didn't work for a few. Herbs are interesting in that you have to keep trying different ones to see what works for your body (hence my 300.00 purchase). For example, although I have tried many energy related supplements, I have not found one that works for me as a 150lb 5'6 female (I mean I can take them and don't feel a thing) whereas they give my body building brother of 6'1 225lbs energy for days. Truth is some work and some don't and depending on how your body responds, that's really the only way you'll know.

Update 3.18.2013

Unfortunately, these pills no longer work for me :-( I believe my body got immune to them so they stopped working about 2 months after I wrote this review. I am currently taking two of Swanson sleep products and for several months, they have been consistent at making me go to sleep at night. I pray that they won't stop working like these did.

After many years of significant sleep issues, and all that goes along with that, I finally went to see an herbalist. She recommended Deep Sleep and gave me some samples to try. I was amazed. I can stay awake through almost anything have always been hypervigilant and have even stayed awake all night several times. There has never been one issue or an event that caused this; it just worsened as I got older and then a couple of years ago the anxiety and panic attacks started.

My anxiety is usually related to work but it has been a very tough issue for me. I have tried everything and have always been otherwise very happy (lucky there). Ambien works and so does Xanax. I just got tired of having to see my doctor every 4 weeks and dealing with his inability to understand that this is something I have really worked to overcome on my own for decades now. He seemed to see this sleep issue as a character flaw and I felt judged. So I went to see the herbalist looking for a permanent course of action tht did not involve any addictive substances. Deep Sleep is a great product and I am not over-stating when I say it has changed my life. I now sleep every night. There is no "hangover". I have the energy and focus to enjoy my life! My family and home life, as well as my work life, have been positively affected. I wake up feeling grateful to meet the day:) Try it there is no down side and it may be the answer for you too. (I should add that since I have been sleeping my anxiety has almost completely gone away I would say it has diminished by about 90%. I always believed it was the result of sleep issues.)

I wondered about this product, having had many sleepless nights. I totally quit caffeine years ago, limited sugar before bed, and was still awakened in the night unable to fall back to sleep. This product makes it so that when I go to sleep, I have been able to stay asleep. While the product states it would like you to take 2 pills before bed, I only take one and it still does the job. Great alternative to prescription drugs.

My Ambien had become less reliable, and so some nights I did not sleep well. By using Deep Sleep in addition to the Ambien I am able to sleep soundly. And it is much more cost effective to get Deep Sleep from Amazon than to get it at retail price. I am working on stopping the Ambien gradually and using the Deep Sleep only. I think that is possible.

i've had long-standing issues with insomnia & poor sleep. i've been searching for years for a product that would be strong enough to get me to sleep, and keep me asleep, without making the next day a hung-over mess.

this product did almost nothing for me. i took it as the package recommends for about a week. i didn't experience any improvement. i doubled up the dose, and stayed with that for awhile. the higher dose left me a little more relaxed about an hour after taking it...but not enough to where i could sleep.

i suppose i could have increased the dose again, as there aren't high enough amounts of any one ingredient to worry much about overdosing, but at that rate, this product would no longer be cost effective.

i'm glad so many people have gotten help from this, but i'm definitely disappointed that it didn't work for me.

Baby Briefcase Baby Paperwork Organizer, Mint/Periwinkle

Baby Briefcase Baby Paperwork Organizer, Mint/PeriwinkleI'm a new mom with a 2 month old. I purchased this when my baby was a month old and it's very useful. I'm a practical person and didn't want to purchase it initially because it does seem like a "plastic file folder" that you can get at an office supply store. However, I realized that I'm way to busy to go to a supply store, create the labels, and decide how to organize my files. The usefulness of this briefcase is that it does it all for you.

Is it worth the price? Well, how much is your time worth? For some, it's a cheap piece of plastic (which it is) and to me, it's a useful time-saver. It saved time not only upfront, but quickly helped me organize discharge papers, outstanding bills, her vaccination records, etc. When I go to the pediatrician, I always have everything with me. I don't have to rifle through a messy folder or go hunting throughout the house.

I say buy it if you want to be organized without having to create the labels yourself. It should be less than $10, but it isn't, so you have to decide how badly you want to save time and effort.

This makes a nice gift for new parents, but when I saw the baby briefcase, I was disappointed in the overall quality for the price that I had paid. It's simply a plastic see-through briefcase with tabbed plastic folders and labels. The recipients really appreciated the usefulness of the organizer, but I would have liked it to be more impressive. Cute and useful, but slightly overpriced.

This was one of the best baby gifts we received. There are so many important papers besides the obvious ones like the birth certificate...the Baby Briefcase was a lifesaver! Notes from the hospital, footprints, immunization records, lactation materials from hospital, etc....all have a place. I now purchase this as my gift for Baby Showers.

This is the item to get for a new born!

I think this product is a great idea... However I think I would change some things about it if I could. I think they should not put any titles on the tabs so that you can choose what all of the files are for (currently you can write the tab titles for half of them). Secondly, I think that the case should be much deeper so that when you put things in the files they still fit really well.

Desitin Diaper Rash Maximum Strength Original Paste 4 oz (113 g)

Desitin Diaper Rash Maximum Strength Original Paste 4 ozWe've used this since my girls(about to turn 1) have been born. There have only been a very few times that they've gotten diaper rash or irritated that lasted more than 1 changing thanks to Desitin.

There was a time when one of my daughters was around 1 month and I had eaten something spicy not thinking it would really affect her breast milk. Boy was I wrong. Even though we changed her diaper right after she poo'd her butt was bright red, it looked like a bad sunburn. I covered her tiny little butt with Desitin Creamy & then topped that with Desitin Original. If you smear on the Creamy first, the Original will smear on even better. By her next diaper change her butt was already getting better and by the next day it was completely cleared up. (no more spicy food for Mommy!)

There have been several times where my girls have gotten diarrhea for a day or several days so no matter how quickly we changed their diapers their little butts would get a little irritated. Desitin helped it to not get out of control & also soothed them.

We put Desitin on ONLY if there is any irritation or redness & it is normally cleared up by the next diaper change.

Make sure you use this at the first sign of irritation to prevent it from getting worse.

****If your baby does have bad diaper rash or irritation, using wipes can burn them. If you have a really soft cloth/rag you can fill a container with warm water & pour in some baby oil. Use this mixture to clean your baby instead of a wipe. If it is a poo diaper, use 1 container w/ mixture & another with warm water to wash cloth/rag out. Let Air Dry. Then take Desitin Creamy & smear all over irritation, then take Desitin Original and smear all of that. Make sure you are checking their diaper very often & changing them right away if they are wet or dirty. (I used to babysit for a little girl with very sensitive skin. This is what I would have to do when her irritation got really bad & it really does work) If the rash gets too bad make sure you take them to the Dr because they will need a prescription.

Desitin Original does not smell as good as the Creamy but it doesn't stink. Original DOES work better than Creamy but I do recommend getting both(and if you think Original Desitin stinks you can use both & it smells good-like the Creamy). We like Desitin better than Balmex, Balmex does not rub in as easily-you have to push kind of hard & keep applying more & more so you will use more.

If you are going on a long car ride you should put a new diaper on your baby right before you leave & put Desitin Original on them. That way if they poo in the car they won't get irritated, or as irritated.

If your baby has sensitive skin & gets irritated or diaper rash easily, put Creamy on after every diaper change OR if that doesnt work then use Original.

Also someone complained that the Original didn't wipe off easily. Well it isn't supposed to! If it came off easily it wouldn't be that good of a barrier to protect babys skin. If you have good wipes, it comes off easier. Our favorite wipes are CVS Brand Soft Cloths!! And we've tried them all.

My husband and I wash our hands all day every day due to our respective jobs. In the winter, our hands start to crack and bleed. We put Desitin on our hands (especially in the cracks) overnight. It really speeds up healing! The zinc oxide is antibacterial also. I don't care what it smells like. The relief is worth the smell!

This stuff clears up a diaper rash right away. I was told Triple Paste was better, but I don't agree-it's about the same. Use this at the first sign of a rash, or even if the rash has gotten a little bad. Don't wait until it's gotten really bad, for that you might need a prescription. Triple paste didn't help us with a very bad rash. Also, remember that the friction from diaper wipes can make rashes worse, so rinse the little bottom instead of using wipes.

Desitin is great for preventing diaper rash. I am a nurse...the best way to apply Desitin is as a prevention measure. Either use it daily or at night when you know the baby will be sitting in pee awhile. If my baby is getting diarrhea, then I apply it at every change so the next poop doesn't actually touch the skin itself, just the cream. Most importantly, the skin must be DRY when you apply the cream. The cream creates a moisture barrier on the skin to keep out bad moisture (urine, poop), but make sure you are not locking in moisture (from wiping)...let the bottom air dry first. If your baby does get a rash, the product will burn some..I like to apply a bit of powder and then the cream...doesn't seem to hurt so much and still works to heal.

Hope this helps some new moms. The product is great when used like it is meant to.

BioBrite Sunrise Clock Advanced Model Charcoal

BioBrite Sunrise Clock Advanced Model CharcoalWe've had this for about a year now. I always have had trouble waking in the mornings. This helps a lot. We don't need to use any other alarms or even the "beep" function. By the time the light is halfway up, we're pretty much awake. (As long as no one succumbs to the urge to turn it down again mid-way!) Using the sunset function works well for limiting the length of bedtime story reading and transitioning from stories to sleep for the kids.

My only quibble is the quality of this lamp/clock. When we first got it, the light would flicker or strobe unexpectedly. Time and tinkering seemed to fix it. The white noise function barely works. It only comes on when the light is on, if I screw around with it, and goes off when the light does. There's no separate control for it, nor a volume control. I wish that were separate. Is it just me, or doesn't it seem counter-intuitive to have the white noise only run when the light is ON? It doesn't come back on when the sunrise function begins, either.

The clock also runs consistently fast. Every few weeks I have to adjust it as the time grows ten or more minutes ahead.

We like it a lot, but there are a lot of foibles to contend with for the price.

I only wish I had purchased my sunrise lamp years ago; I love it! While it took me a couple of mornings to get the lamp and alarm settings exactly how I need them, it is so nice to wake up more easily and in a better mood. Programming the light is fairly simple, but one thing to remember is that the light will turn itself off about 15 minutes after the set wake up time. I found that extending the wake up sequence from 30 to 60 or 90 minutes made a big difference. My husband and I both have to get up early and it's always dark in the winter; our sunrise lamp really does make getting up easier and we both agree that we are actually happy instead of grumpy when we get up. We no longer need to set our audible alarms as we naturally wake with the lamp.

Here are my 3 issues with this:

1. Low quality design and construction. As soon as you take it out of the box you wonder why you paid so much for it. It looks like it was spray painted by a child and the buttons are flimsy.

2. It is tedious to use. There are only 3 buttoms to use all of the features(not including the alarm on/off button). Just to set the time, you have to go through a menu with one button until you get to the time set mode and then you can only increment/decrement one minute at a time (no hour incrementing). Major pain in the ass.

3. It doesn't work. I was really excited about having this clock. I was so sick of waking up to the beep-beep-beep of my old alarm clock, and this seemed like it was going to make my whole day better. Unfortunately, the "sunrise" hasn't woken me up once, and I still wake up to the beep-beep-beep of it's backup alarm everyday. And I'm a very light sleeper.

I wish I had something good to say about this, but I don't. For me it was a lot of money for something that works no better than the cheap alarm clock I've had for 10 years. At least on the old one I could set the time very easily.

I was so frustrated with the first clock we received. I had the clock for 1 week and it did not work once. I set it for 5am and at 4:30am instead of starting a gradual brightening of the room, it would immediately start at full brightness and then progress to dim, before strobing. Not the way I want to wake up!

I contacted customer service and the woman asked me (in a rude manner) if I had held in the Program button while I was plugging in the light. I told her of course not. She told me I should have. This was not in the manual anywhere! I tried doing that and was woken up again the next day at 4:30am to immediate full light. I waited 3 days to hear back from the company via email about what to do with this product. They said I could ship it to them (at my expense) and have it serviced.

Thankfully, we bought it from Amazon, and not the company, or we would have had difficulty returning it for a working model. We have since received a new one, and this one works fine. As long as you don't get a defective clock, it is a nice thing to have, but save yourself the hassle and buy it from Amazon, rather than Biobrite.

I had a Soleil Sunrise clock before this and it was just a night light. The BioBrite is a 60 watt bulb--a real light. I also love the other features:

* Dimmable bedside light for reading or soft lighting

* Security option so light comes on at random intervals from 4-11pm as if the house is occupied

* Nightlight option

* LCD display fades to low level when it is in night mode

I have the one with white noise and it is wonderful.

Etude House Sleeping Facial Pack (Skin Brightening) 120 ml (4.06 oz)

Etude House Sleeping Facial Pack 120 mlI recently started using Korean beauty products. Started with the Oriental Gold BB cream. I no longer use any other face makeup/foundation other than this for about a month now. Ordered this Etude House Sleeping Facial Pack and Tony Moly mask and moisturizer. Washed my face, used the mask and followed with the Etude House Sleeping pack. It is very light and not greasy at all. Felt good on my face. I did see a difference in the morning with my skin. My face looked clearer, smoother, felt softer, pores seemed smaller. I suffered from acne in the past and have scaring and large pores on my face. This product seemed to make a difference..I will continue to use it along with my other products. My face is looking and feeling better!!

I've been wanting to try some Etude house products so I added this last minute with an order I made. As usual with SeoulGlamour, it came SUPER fast! Not even 2 weeks after ordering. I really love this pack, it smells really nice, and doesn't make me break out. I put a thin layer on before I go to bed if I feel like my skin needs to be moisturized. It does brighten up your complexion after using it for awhile. I don't put it on every night because my skin can get quite oily, but I'll use it every other night. When I rinse off my face in the morning, it feels super soft and clean! I haven't used half the tube yet, so I'll be set for awhile. I would probably buy this again.

Clubman Pinaud Dab-On Nick Relief Hair Removal Products

Clubman Pinaud Dab-On Nick Relief, 0.25 OunceAfter many years of using this I got an email from Amazon asking to review.

This is the very best alternative to seal a razor cut and I will elaborate below. Your alternatives are:

1. Styptic pencil. The troubles are many: white residue on your face, the pencil melts if left wet (so you'd have to dry it), etc.

2. Alum. This is a rock which tastes sour and that constricts your blood vessels. The concentration isn't large so you'll run the rock a lot on your face and irritate the skin further. I kind of like this mostly because of tradition I inherited a few from my grandfather.

3. Styptic roll-on's. The problem here is that blood gets on their ball and in the can. Kind of gross.

4. Sponge that stops bleeding (usually for more serious wounds). You look like you applied toilet paper pieces to your nicks until the bleeding stops.

5. Clubman's dab-on-nik. This is best. It has a sponge that yes, gets blood on, but you can wash it BEFORE the blood gets in the can. Concentration is about right, you may need to reapply, but I guess if you make it too concentrated, it would sting you. The sponge ensures that you apply it on the right spot. There is no residue. Really the best alternative, and from far. I have been using it for 10 years by now.

I've accumulated decades of experience in finding ever-better styptic solutions. Right now, I've got it boiled down to these three choices:

(1) THIS PINAUD CLUBMAN DAB-ON NICK RELIEF ITEM. Clubman Nick Relief used to be commonly shelved at major drugstores I could find it at CVS as recently as three years ago but no more. I'm guessing the reason for the slow disappearance of styptic products is the dominance of cartridge razor blades (eg, Fusion, Quattro, etc.) that has developed over the last several decades. Cartridge blades are actually pretty dull compared to DE (double-edged) "safety" razor blades and/or cut-throat "straight" razors, so shavers using cartridges typically cut themselves far less often. Of course, they're getting a duller shave as well, but they don't realize it. In addition to here at Amaz., most of the major online men's shaving stores sell Clubman Nick Relief as well. (I actually have links to most of those stores on my homepage.)

The active ingredient in Clubman Nick Relief is alum, specifically aluminum sulfate. This is the same active ingredient as found in a classic dry styptic pencil. Nick Relief is better than a pencil by far because dampness basically destroys the pencil in short order; you have to wet the pencil to use it and even if you dry it well the place that was dampened cakes up and becomes unusable. I can remember having to constantly whittle off the unusable parts of a styptic pencil with a pocket knife just to be able to keep using it.

Clubman Nick Relief WILL INDEED leave a chalky white residue on your skin after it has dried. The product is fairly effective and it does have some sting to it. Because it is a liquid, it "gets into" the cut/nick much better than a styptic pencil or an alum block does. The way I use this product is to dab some of it on my finger, then use my finger to apply it to the cut in a back-and-forth-then-change-direction process. I think of it as tracing out an asterisk on the site of the cut. I do it that way to help the liquid get into "the grain" of the cut/nick, no matter what direction the "grain" is running. Then I have to go back later after it's dried and remove the white chalk residue with a wet Kleenex. Dabbing to the finger prevents blood from contaminating "virgin" product. (This is in issue, I suppose, only if you are going to share and/or lend the product with others.)

There IS a small yellow/orange hemisphere-shaped sponge-like material at the top of the Clubman Nick Relief stick, covering the hole that leads to the liquid. Once the sponge is dampened with the liquid, the sponge dries up, becomes crusty and rough, making subsequent applications tougher. I just tear the sponge out from the get-go, though without it liquid can leak more easily out of the stick (and into the screw-top lid) more easily.

(2) KDS RADICAL TOUCH LIQUID STYPTIC. I've been using this product for a couple of months now. It is much more effective than anything I have ever used. It also burns like the dickens. It has, on occasion, actually brought a patch of little welts up on my freshly DE safety-razor-shaved neck; they go away after a while. The active ingredient is zinc chloride; it also contains lidocine, to try to counteract the sting with some numbing. When this stuff hits the blood in a cut, it'll turn it black and hard almost instantly. The bottle is essentially an eyedropper; there's no sponge or anything like that involved.

The way I most often use this product is to just press the tip of the eyedropper into the cut/nick then squeeze. The squeezing "drives" the liquid into the cut/nick regardless of the direction of the grain of the cut/nick. This approach usually leaves a drop or two dripping away from the cut/nick. Since I mostly use these products in the shower (where I wetshave), all I have to do is wait about 1-2 seconds than rinse the entire area clean ... before this product has a chance to inflict much irritation on the area. Out of the shower, I use a damp Kleenex to accomplish the same effect. I figure the squeezing motion is preventing contamination of "virgin" product, so I don't have to dab.

I do keep and use these items "as a pair." If the cut/nick is minor or is "a weeper," it gets the less-painful Clubman Nick Relief treatment. If it is a larger and/or more "stubborn" cut/nick, it gets the KDS treatment. If I am in the shower (where I can rinse away most of the pain before it occurs), I go straight to the KDS product. If I am in a hurry and I have to "be sure it's stopped right now," I use the KDS product. If I am in a hurry and I don't have time to go back and remove the white residue, I use the KDS product.

(3) PACIFIC SHAVING COMPANY NICK STICK. I am just beginning to test out this product as a possible substitute for Clubman Nick Relief. It is a roll-on product; keep in mind that roll-on means you are absolutely rolling the blood from any cut/nick back inside the bottle and into contact with "virgin" product. (Or you can just dab it on your finger first, as above.)

The active ingredient is aluminum chloride. The product also contains some aloe vera and vitamin E (that helps heal skin/burns) ... as well as bergamot (orange) that gives it a very pleasant scent upon application. It dries clear without any kind of tactile residue. The product seems to work pretty well, at least as well as the Clubman product; not nearly as effective as the KDS product, however. It doesn't sting the least bit.

(4) In addition to these three products, I also do keep in/near the shower both an alum block and a bottle of Thayers Alcohol-Free Rose Petal Witch Hazel. These are also astringent products ... that will constrict skin & blood vessels and stop minor bleeding. After shaving I apply one or both briefly to my entire face. They do not sting in any way and in fact have a slight soothing effect. If you don't want to think of them as 'nick relief,' think of them as 'after shave skin bracers' that don't brace/shock the face ... since they are non-alcoholic.

Whatever you decide, decide something. The well-groomed gentleman doesn't appear for his evening on the town sporting little patches of bathroom tissues wetted to his face.

UPDATE [2012-05-30]: Since writing this, I've abandoned use of #3, Pacific Shaving Company Nick Stick. It just wasn't as effective as stopping nicks as the other two items. It smells good, rolled on comfortably and felt soothing in application ... BUT the other two items stopped up the nicks better.

Yes, it does sting a little bit, but it does work. For most cuts, it stopped almost immediately. It took me a couple applications on some deeper nicks to stop the bleeding. It was easy to use and mess free. A great thing to keep in your medicine cabinet and travel bag.

Nayoya Acupressure Mat for Back Pain Relief

Nayoya Acupressure Mat for Back Pain ReliefI have Fibromyalgia and Myofascial Pain Syndrome and am in pain every waking hour, a lot of the time severe pain. My whole upper body is full of tender points and knots. I have pain throughout my whole body, but the bulk of it is in my neck, shoulders, back, and down both arms. I've been out of work for over a year and am getting ready to go back. Since I bought this, I have confidence it will help me enough to handle a reduced schedule. I also have a shoulder and neck massager and a back massager, but this seems to help the most. I lay it on the floor with a yoga mat under the top to get into my neck. I wear a very thin shirt or use it on bare skin. If it's too much for you, just wear something thicker. When I lay on it, it's like I experience euphoria. I roll around on it and bring my knees into my chest and rock back and forth on my back and the pain is drastically diminished or goes away. The pain does come back, but I do it several times a day and look forward to doing it. I've also had many more bearable days since I started using it, so it just may have some longterm healing properties. I just can't stress enough how much this is helping me. If you have pain, you need to buy this. It could change your life, or at least, help you make it through the day and give you some relief. This is the best $30.00 I've ever spent!

For most of my life I've been practicing all sorts of sports, from football (high school), lacrosse and now Jiu Jitsu (for the last couple of years). Consistently putting my body under intense stress without breaks (I thought I was superman) resulted in severe muscle tension and lower back pain. I travel a lot for amateur competitions and I kept coming across people who would carry a mat with little spikes on it. This mat got me really interested, so when I asked about it I heard nothing but good things. Obviously I was skeptical but thought I had nothing to lose. When I researched acupuncture mats I came across Nayoya and thought I'd give it a try because of the low price.

Within a few days of use (2 times a day; after training & at night for 25 minutes each session), I've felt results that I doubted I would ever have. I actually started going to an acupuncturist recently, but after trying the Nayoya mat I decided to save my money and use it exclusively to test its benefits. My lower back pain has been decreasing every day! The way that this mat is allowing me to relax my body and reduce my muscle tension is quickly making it one of my favorite possessions. My back pain is reduced significantly and my attitude towards my training is way brighter than it has been in the past couple of years! I was so impressed that I decided to share my joy with you all and HIGHLY recommend anyone with migraines, back pain and even a poor mood to look into one! I'm sure there are other benefits that people may experience, this mat is great!

I have three mats in the house one for me one for my mother and one for my wife and we all love it.

It helps me fall asleep if im having cases of insomnia due to stress or if i am too tense. I've also found that it helps untie the knots in my back. If there's something in particular thats bothering you--say your lower back or neck then you can put a rolled up towel underneath the mat and under that area to intensify the healing process and removed knots from that particular area . The mat also seems to make the blood start circulating again and give a tingly sensation.

Everyone should get one. The hundreds of plastic spikes might look scary but they feel so good on your body, very tingly feeling and relaxing!

My mother who is 64 years old uses this every night also before going to bed because it helps her relax and puts her in a good stress free mood.

My wife uses the mat after her yoga sessions and sometimes falls asleep on it after meditation.

This is a very unique mat. I found out about it from a co-worker who was raving about a small mat that she described as being light as a feather and has spikes everywhere.

I was intrigued to say the least and started researching it. I finally purchased a Nayoya mat after reading it's positive reviews. This mat is definitely unique. I noticed from my use of it that if you use a shirt you do not feel the benefits as much. You need direct contact with the skin which is just like acupuncture where needles touch the skin not through a shirt.

So far my results from the mat In my short use...

1) It got rid of a headache I had.I stood on it barefoot until the headache went away.

2) I have slight back pain in my lower right area. The mat alleviated this issue almost immediately and it hasn't flared up yet and

3) my quality of sleep and also the length of time it takes to fall asleep have all gotten better. It used to take me over an hour of turning and getting comfortable to fall asleep. If I lay on the mat for 15 minutes, close my eyes and focus I have found that a few times I even fell asleep on the mat for a few minutes before waking up and realizing I was sleeping on plastic spikes haha.

Overall taking the price into account, this mat is highly recommended because it is comfortable and has a many benefits all rolled into one

I bought this for my fiance he's a carpenter and every day comes home from work with back pains. He's tried back massagers, heating pads, taking hot baths with all different kinds of "ache and pain reliever" bath salts... He usually wants me to crack his back at night in 3 different spots.. He tried different stretches.. etc. Nothing really "worked" it all just gave a few minutes of relief. In the winter he usually falls asleep with the heating pad under him. I bought this because I figured it was worth a shot for $35 based on the amazing reviews.

Well I got this and he gave me a weird look like "You're ridiculous, stop wasting your money on random $@!#" but I forced him to just try it and told him I'd return it if he didn't like it. He laid on it for about 10 minutes (shirtless), while telling me it kind of hurt, made him feel like he had sunburn, it wasn't working, etc. Well after 10 minutes I said ok, get up, I'll return it. He got up and his back was REALLY red, it definitely looked like he had sunburn!! But he got up and said his back DID feel better... it felt totally loose... He started moving around, stretching, trying to find pain somewhere, and couldn't! His exact words were "Well this is just weird." So he laid on it again! Now he LOVES this thing and looks forward to laying on it, and yesterday at Thanksgiving dinner I overheard him telling family about it and how amazing it was and that it made him feel "like a million bucks".

I don't usually suffer from back pain so I had no need for this, but yesterday after cooking for Thanksgiving and waking up on the wrong side of the bed, my back did feel kind of stiff so I laid on the mat for about 5 minutes. It WAS really weird how when I got up it just felt better. You lay down and you don't *feel* it reducing your pain... but as soon as you stand up it's gone. It's REALLY strange. I did find for me though that just laying flat on it didn't get rid of my lower back pain, but that is because of the natural curve in your back when you lay down I suppose. I rolled up a towel and stuck it under the mat and laid on it... problem solved.

All in all I'd say this was one of my best purchases ever... If something that costs $35 can get rid of my fiances back pain every day when he comes home from work in 10 minutes, without having to take any pain meds... It's great in my book and I'd recommend it to everyone.

I will say one thing though, if you have pets, definitely roll this up and put it away when not in use, or put it somewhere your pets wont get to it.. We had it on a chair we never use for a few hours.. Our cat got up on the chair, and must of jumped 8 feet when his paws touched the mat... LOL. He's fine it just scared him. Was definitely funny, but not something I would have let happen had I realized. I'm sure he wont make that mistake again. Now when it's on the floor he walks around it like it's a lava pit! LOL. Poor kitty.

Updat 4/4/13: we still use this multiple times a week and have purchased an additional 4 for family and friends. My fiancé still uses it for his back and I mainly use it after a long day on my feet. I stand on it with my socks on and it just takes away all my foot pain!

We also now put this in front of our bedroom door to prevent our cat from waking us up at 5am by jiggling our door knob. He is still scared of it. I love products that have multiple used! ;)

Exposed Acne Treatment - Basic Kit

Exposed Acne Treatment - Basic KitI bought this product on Amazons credibility as it had some good reviews. But this seems to be a total scam so many good reviews in such a short time and only those people have reviewed this product only.

I don't have severe acne but I do get break outs here n there some times as exposed skin care might say this might not suit u but I don't think that should be the case for very mild acne. I am totally disgusted after 2 weeks use and I followed instructions to the book. I did not see any improvements infact i saw more break outs at different spots on my face. This should not be happening as this product must be taking care of my skin not messing it up.

Wish I could get my money back. I had contacted amazon web support they said they will look into this but this questions amazons as a review based website as anyone could hire people to post good reviews and scam other people..

After fiasco I gave proactive a try and it is controlling the acne and I see better results within 7 days. But I want to warn amazon again about this scam of fake good reviews.. this questions your credibility amazon and I want my answer why do all the people with 4 or 5 star review have only 1 review only for this product?

I wish Amazon had some good mechanism to check this kind of scam.I hope this helps other Amazon customers. Exposed Acne Treatment Basic Kit

I had very severe acne when starting this product and used it for over 2 months with no improvement. I eventually had to return this product frustrated with no results after spending time and money on Exposed. I have used Proactiv and Neutrogena and I do not find them any better, but if you are going to go for non-prescription acne treatment I would still probably recommend Exposed because the customer service is much better. It has a lifetime warranty so if you do not get results you can return the product and they will reimburse your first kit which is really good. The warranty for other products like Proactiv is much worse so if choosing between the two spend a little more on Exposed but get a better return policy. Again, if you have health insurance and you acne is from moderate to severe I think you are wasting your time getting over-the-counter products.

If you have severe acne like I had, the single best thing you can do is go see a dermatologist and the sooner the better. They devote their lives to correcting skin problems such as acne and will prescribe stronger medications for severe acne patients that get the job done. I have been on prescription topical medications and in two months have experienced excellent results. With insurance I am not spending any more on my prescription medications as I did with the over-the-counter treatments and personalized doctor prescribed medications have actually worked.

I have always had pimples, never acne, but consistently I have had a pimple or two until I began using this product. It didn't dry out my skin, but it did clear it up! I have tried a lot of other acne treatment systems and they were either too harsh or made my skin worse than ever! I know that there are more popular systems out there, but it continues to baffle me as to why?! Other systems may have a bigger advertising budget, but their products remain inferior! Not only is Exposed great at clearing up breakouts, it does so without the harsh smelling chemicals that are the "Method of Operation" for so many other products!

(I posted this review on the other kit, thought it would be relevant here too) I'm 30, a dude, and have been fighting with my skin since i was about 14. I've gone through cheapo in store products (too many to name) and some of the more expensive products: Murad, clinique, etc. No matter what i always had blackheads, a few random pimples, and about 1 to 2 times a month i would get a lovely breakout. my skin wasnt THAT bad but i always always always had problems. I found Exposed by accident. I went online looking for alternative ways to get my skin to stop screwing with me and i got a link for the exposed "lifestyle tips" page. That led me to looking into the actual product. I skeptically pulled the trigger and got the uber kit with all the goodies. First week was not that rough, i got a few new pimples but i noticed my blackheads were getting a little smaller. Most skin care programs will warn you that it usually gets worse before it gets better. It got better. Weeks 2 and 3 showed steady improvement, few new minor pimples and my skin started looking healthier. I'm on the middle of week 4 and my skin looks better than it has in longer than i can remember. I KNOW my skin is healthier too. I used to get up early so i could give my face time to calm down before i went to work. Even washing it gently with my hands would leave it red, patchy, and swollen. Lotion was also a daily requirement. Definitely not the case now, i scrub and scrub and no irritation. I also know it's healthier cause of the comments i get at work. People complain about the tonic. It DOES hurt at first. get over it, your skin is jacked up. I started using it once every other day there was certainly a little discomfort. Now i use it 1 to 2 times a day and there is absolutely no discomfort. Actually, all of the products in this kit have a much shorter and extreme "getting used to" period than other stuff i have tried. I recommend geting the kit with everything on your first buy. Some stuff works better for certain people. I live with my sister and we both use the products a little differently. Try them all and then you can re-buy the ones you really like. Lastly, i like that this program addresses scarring. I've definitely got a few red marks from all the years of torment and like exposed claims, the marks are fading.

I looked at the other reviews, definitely a few fakes, it's kind of off putting but whatever. If you leave a comment i'll try to respond. I know how awful it is to worry about your skin all the time and if my input can help another exhausted acne victim i will be glad to give it. No skin care program works for everyone, just make sure give whatever you try a fair chance. Nothing is going to happen overnight. I strongly recommend giving Exposed a chance.

PS, wash your pillow cases... a lot. people always forget to do that.

I was VERY skeptical before ordering this product. I've always struggled with acne and have never had clear skin. I tried proactive in the past, but hated the results! Now that I'm getting married I was desperate to try something that would work. I went online for recommendations and noticed this product seemed to top all the lists. I'd never heard of Exposed before so I read the reviews and ordered the basic kit to start (in case it didn't work). Within 2 days I'd noticed the change! Within a few weeks my skin cleared up, breakouts were gone, and the texture of my skin was transformed! I no longer breakout, (which used to be a constant occurrence for me) and when I do notice a pimple, its tiny and is usually gone in a day or two. I feel so good about my skin now because it's FINALLY the skin I was meant to have! I would recommend this to ¡EVERYONE! who deals with embarrassing acne and wants a product that doesn't just clear your skin for a week, but keeps it clear consistently day after day...I'm hooked for life.

Ayr Saline Nasal Gel Moisturizing Swabs With Soothing Aloe, 20-Count SwabsMy Mom is on oxygen, 24 hours a day at 6 liters per hour. Even with the humidified oxygen, her nose gets very dry at that level. These really help her, and are easy to take along if she goes out.

Magnesium Oil 64 fl oz (1.9 l) Liquid

Magnesium Oil 64 fl oz LiquidI use magnesium lotion or this oil almost daily as I can have pretty erratic results with absorption of oral magnesium supplements. This product is a great deal in terms of how much you get and how long it will last. I put it in small squeeze bottles. They suggest spray bottles, but alot can end up on the floor as it slides right off your skin if you do not rub it in immediately. I find that this oil stings more than the lotion (I have Dr Shealy's Magnesium Lotion). Definitely avoid putting it on broken skin.

I have tried both Ancient Minerals and Swansons. I cannot tell the difference. Thus, the far cheaper Swansons looks to be the smarter option.

Buy Magnesium Oil 64 fl oz (1.9 l) Liquid Now

I first learned about this oil on the electroherbalism group at yahoo. It's applied in many maladies, especially those requiring extra magnesium intake. It turns out that applying this oil externally even in small quantities is absorbed 10X more efficiently than taking oral supplements.

A little goes a long way. The recommendation is a few sprays here and there, but I just pour about 1/4 to 1/2 a teaspoon in my hand, rub it into my hands and slather it on.

Takes only a few minutes to absorb into the skin, but make sure you have no skin breaks or it will feel like rubbing salt into your wounds. MgCl is a salt, so you would be rubbing salt into your wounds. Be Careful! Even if you do, it washes off easily.

I compared the price on this item to all other MgCl oils, which are from the same source, but under different labels, and this is the best deal, bar none, probably because of the size of the package. Unknown if different labels have different processing, so I can only compare price.

I've been using this oil for a month and I could'nt be more impressed. So I thought I'd pass along some helpful info. I have sensitive, dry skin and my basic rule is: If you can't eat it don't put it on your skin. One exeption is Dr. Bronners hemp oil soaps this oil is another. At $90 a gallon I'm not about to rinse this off, it stays on until I shower. In fact I apply it right after, before my skin is fully dry. If your like me it will sting on some areas, esspecially under arms. I can't use chemical deodorants only baking soda which also stings. This oil works great as a deodorant but can cause some redness and/or irritation...I've found that aloe is 100% effective for immediate relief, (I have aloe plants) not sure about aloe gel. When used together my skin absorbs the oil more completely. I also use coconut oil on areas exposed to sunlight, the back of my neck for instance. The mag. oil alone makes that area sensitive to sunlight, add the coconut oil and it's like suntan lotion, this may be problematic for those with longer hair. For maximum absorbtion apply the mag. oil to hands feet and inner arms. I feel almost no stinging or itching when applied there. Even better soak or bathe in Epsom salts then apply the mag. oil. I've found that simply by massaging with this oil that my hands prune twice as fast and stay pruned twice as long. This indicates that the imbedded calcium (as described in reviews here) is being dissolved and the tissue is becoming saturated with magnesium. My hands are pain free and playing guitar and keyboards has never been more comfortable. Musicians and atheletes really need to check this stuff out. Apply one squirt to the back of your hands before and after playing. If you have soreness anywhere apply small amounts all day and night and occasionally take a day off and/or cycle i.e. left side one day right side the next, upper body lower body etc. Your body will absorb more readily as it becomes saturated. Remember this: magnesium goes where magnesium is. Start slow, increase use, then break for a day. I gave my nephew a spray bottle to treat an infected toe, in one week he's seen more improvment than months of antibiotic use. I also gave him calcium bentonite clay and bee propolis for anyone interested. No I'm not a doctor I'm better I'm a healer, I have'nt been to a doctor in 30 years. I don't know anyone that's been healed by a MD, I know many people that have been damaged or killed by MDs. Do yourself a favor and order this oil it will help you take charge of your health. Also try liquid mag. squirt it directly under your tounge wait a few minutes then drink several ounces of water, esspecially if you have migraines or nerve issues. Again increase slowly up to five times a day then break for up to a week then repeat. Helpful foods: celery, cucumber, (ceylon) cinnamin, coconut oil, flax seed/oil, raw almonds, raw honey. Limit sugar and dairy and think positive thoughts.

Wow! Saw a competotor's ad about how great this product was for FIBRO. Terribly expensive though; they warn don't use any other products ours is pure. This product comes from the same place. I'm talking about Derma-Mag their 32 oz is 58.00. Anyway received it very quickly one day ahead of schedule. My 83 Mother has had shingles since before thxgiving, making this lively little lady almost a shut in. Most pain medicine works mediocre, the shingles go from the inside of her right hip to just below her knee, well the neurotherapy does.

I did kind of steal from the other place the regimen to follow -foot baths with 2 oz of Magnesium oil 20 minutes everydays AND spraying the Magnesium Oil on 5-6 times a day to start with. I started her on this at lunchtime one day when I came home that night she was already feeling less pain. Everyday she can do more and more. Doubtful this shingles will go away entirely but it has minimized her pain levels with this product.

Now today I am just starting it, looking forward to my results. Only one minor critism, wish the bottle came with its own sprayer so I knew for sure the dosage with each spray.

Philips AVENT Digital Video Baby Monitor

Philips AVENT Digital Video Baby MonitorIn general, I think this is a very good quality monitor: the image and sound are at least as good as other video baby monitors, battery life of the parent unit is good, the range is quite good... We actually bought this and the Summer Best View and tried them both out and in most ways I found them to be similar in performance.

The three hang-ups I have with the Avent monitor (and why we returned it):

1) The designed of the base makes it very difficult to view anything that is essentially below it. For instance, if you want to have a bird's eye view of your baby's crib, it will be tough to manage. Since the camera cannot be wall-mounted it has to go onto a shelf and the camera angle cannot be directed low enough to make this work. For other types of applications this may not matter but for us it made a big difference (being able to see directly into the crib versus looking through the bars of the crib).

2) The battery life on the amera (if not plugged in it runs on 4 AAAs) is not very god. We set it up in our baby's room to try it out and the batteries did not last through the night (we set it up around 8pm and when I checked at 4am it was dead). I checked to make sure it was fresh batteries, same story. If you are going to plug it in this won't matter but our child likes to grab and shake anything that looks like a cord, so having the camera near his crib with a cord is not a great thing. This wasn't necessarily a huge issue for us (it can be worked around) but since there was nothing else that separated it from the Summer monitor and the Summer was wall mountable, there was no reason to spend an extra $20 on this one.

3) This system is not expandable. Many monitors have the ability to link more than one camera to the same parent unit, this one does not currently have that capability.

My wife and I love this monitor. We have replaced a Summer Infant Day & Night Baby Video Monitor with 5" Screen White with Philips Avent. The sound and picture are great, and there is no interference like we had with Summer. Both day and night video feeds are very clear, and the design is clean and modern.

There are some nice features like night lights on the baby unit, and the ability to have baby unit start playing lullabies by pressing a button on the parent unit. The parent unit can be set to turn the screen off automatically to save battery unless the baby starts making sounds. The camera is not fixed to the camera stand, but held by a magnet, so it can be easily adjusted in any direction, and it can be used without the AC adapter with AAA batteries. Philips manual tells you not to use rechargeable batteries because the baby unit does not have a charging function, but I do not see why one could not use low self-discharge AAAs like Eneloops.

This baby monitor is covered by Philips's Full 2-year Warranty, which I found pleasantly surprising because a couple of the Philips DVD players I own have only 90 days warranty and I expected the warranty on the Avent monitor to be no longer than a year.

I noticed just two minor issues that may not even be a problem for others.

1. For my setup, positioning the camera was a little difficult. We like to see the whole crib from above, so the camera needed to be setup on the shelf above and to the left of the crib. The way the Philips camera and stand are designed, I had to put a wedge under the back of the camera stand so that the camera points where I need it to point. I could not simply rotate the camera down far enough because then the lens would be covered by the stand (see pictures). I did not have this problem with the Summer's camera design.

2. The night vision infrared lights on the baby unit glow red. They are low intensity, but still visible and distracting. The Summer baby monitor also had night vision, but the night vision LEDs did not emit any visible spectrum light.

While reading reviews for other baby monitors, I noticed low ratings because of interference. The performance of the monitor will depend on how "polluted" the frequency band on which it operates at your location. For example, we have absolutely no problems with the interference with this Philips Avent Baby Monitor even though my wireless (b/g) router is located in the same room as the parent unit. However, we did have some interference issues with the Summer baby monitor although baby and parent units were located in the same spots where Philips is now. At the same time, Summer baby monitor worked without any interference when we took the parent unit to the kitchen. The point is that you won't know unless you try.

If you are looking for a baby monitor, I recommend that you consider Philips Avent Baby Monitor.

My wife and I already own a Philips Avent Basic Baby Monitor w/ DECT Technology, but wanted to try this product out too and I was able to do a direct comparison. We did not originally get a video monitor as we felt uncomfortable with the Big Brother factor of watching our baby via video. However, we have grown to like it and it saves us unnecessary trips to the nursery to see if our baby is babbling and playing safely or is in need or help.

Here's what we like and dislike about this digital video monitor after a couple months of use:

POSITIVES:

1. No interference with WiFi networks and cell phones: We have a large WiFi network with 4 wireless routers, and we live in a dense neighborhood where there are several WiFi networks within range. We had no problems with reception on either monitor even when it was close to our iPhones, computer, WiFi routers, and so forth.

2. No cross-talk between DECT monitors: Even side-by side and set up in the same room, the two Phillips AVENT monitors caused no interference with each other. There is no cross-talk with the neighbor's baby monitor either.

3. Good range: I've walked about 50 feet from baby's room with the video monitor, and the signal is still good through several walls. The range may be farther still -I haven't tested the full range yet.

4. Decent battery life: On standby mode, the rechargeable battery lasts at least 5-6 hours. I have achieved about 3 hours of battery life with the monitor continuously on. However, in both cases I haven't tested the full battery life of the unit and the performance may be even better.

5. Simple setup: Plug it in and turn it on. You don't have to be a rocket scientist.

6. Night vision: Doesn't light up the room and is surprisingly good. It has a bit of that security camera, black and white look to the video, but it's perfectly good to see baby in low-light conditions.

NEED FOR IMPROVEMENT:

1. No 2-way communication: My wife and I like the 2-way communication feature on the Philips Avent Basic Baby Monitor w/ DECT Technology, but this AVENT Video monitor has no such 2-way feature. It is a handy feature for my wife and I to alert each other from baby's room rather than yelling through the house.

2. Size: In the age of iPhones and the like, the parent video monitor seems like an oddly large unit. It's too big to fit in a pocket, and too awkward to hang from a belt loop. Don't plan on carrying this around the house too much.

I must preface this review by saying that I have two of the Avent audio monitors and they have been the best audio monitors EVER. So when Avent came out with their video monitor I could not wait to get it! However, after seeing the pulsing, glowing red lights on the camera in my babies room, and watching my baby sit and watch the lights go on and off...and seeing the GIANT green bright led the lit up my baby's bed like a landing strip...I was so very disappointed. Then when I put the monitor by my bed and was woken up repeatedly by the audio signal indicating the monitor was out of range...when it was fine 2 seconds ago. All of this, I was trying so desperately to overlook until the day I heard my baby crying and yet, didn't hear anything from the monitor. I could see her crying when I looked at it, but the audio was not activating. This I could not forgive, and this is why it went back.

My perspective: the most important aspect of a baby monitor's performance is audio. You're not going to be looking at the video screen in the middle of the night when the baby needs you so the audio better work well. If you don't agree with this statement you might have a very different impression of this monitor than I did.

I have been surprised at the poor design of many popular video monitors: analog, only a few channels. Really, in the year 2010? I have had a Philips SCD520 audio montior for a while and love it (fantastic clarity and range) so I decided to give the SCD600 a try for my second child.

The fatal flaw: the instructions say that there are two video modes: one where the video screen is on all the time, and one where the screen only comes on when sound is detected to save battery power. Seems reasonable. The problem is that there is no similar selection for audio modes, and the way the unit works is that it doesn't send any audio signal unless a sound is heard. And it has to be a very loud sound to trigger the unit -you won't hear anything from the monitor until your baby is screaming. I find this totally unacceptable. Since the manual doesn't say anything about this I suspect a firmware bug that will hopefully be corrected (and if you read my review of the SCD525 audio monitor you might think that a firmware bug isn't out of the question). Because of this issue and design deficiencies in other video monitor's I've seen I think the best baby monitors around (of the ones I've used or researched anyway) are the audio-only Philips SCD520 and SCD530 (but not the SCD525!).

General comments: Video quality seems good, but it's best if the monitor is relatively close to the crib (I expect this is true of all video monitors). The range of this unit is not as good as Philips' audio monitors, but that's consistent with the manufacturer claims and it's certainly adequate. It would work anywhere in a normal sized house and yard, just not halfway down the street like their audio-only monitors. My only design gripe (and this is common with video monitors) is that there is no charging cradle. Since the battery of a video monitor's parent unit doesn't usually last as long as the audio-only monitors it seems to me that a charging cradle is almost a necessity (rather than having to fumble with a power cord all the time). I read in some reviews that there is no wall mounting bracket. This is true but Philips has kindly provided a metal 1/4-20 threaded socket on the bottom -this is the standard camera tripod thread, which means that there are a variety of ways you could mount this unit to a wall. It's actually very versatile. Security camera mounts, easily-made DIY mounts, etc.
