BSN N.O.-Xplode Caffeine Free, Fruit Punch, 15.9 Ounce

I used ON's Preload Creatine before this, but never other pre-workout supps because they always have caffeine in them. I work out after 4-5:00 and this stuff gives me great pumps, good energy, and I feel great after the workout still. I can also get to sleep at night like I'm supposed to. Those other stimulant filled supplements will have you so "jacked" that you won't be able to go to sleep or want to puke. When I cycle off of it for several weeks (because of the creatine), I can tell a difference. I make good gains in strength while taking it for about 6-8 weeks. The only other caffeine free supp is Optimum Nutrition's preload creatine and it's very simple. I would say N.O.E. is better than O.N.'s. I have had the blue raspberry and the punch, and the punch IMO tastes better.

So, I've had this NO-Xplode on my wishlist for awhile. I frequently went through the other Amazon reviews to see if it was something I really wanted to move forward with. My birthday was a few days ago, and a family member got me an Amazon gift card, so I decided to use the gift card to purchase this supplement. It arrived only 3 days later (today), which was awesome...so props to Amazon for their awesome shipping, but unfortunately this isn't a positive review.

Whenever I get a new supplement, I never take the fully recommended dose so that I am able to get a feel for how it's going to react in my body since everyone is different. To that point, I will say I am SO GLAD I didn't take a full scoop. I decided to only take a half scoop. As other people have said, the taste is pretty awful, but in the world of supplements, I generally will continue taking a product that WORKS even if it's not the best flavor since the end result is really what's important. I mixed it with water about a half hour before my workout around 5pm this evening.

Got to the gym and did a pretty intense leg and ab workout. As far as the efficacy of the product, I guess I can't say I really noticed much difference. I didn't get any "harder pumps" that everyone seems to promise with pre-workouts. I went about my workout as normal, and came back home. That's when things started to get weird.

I ate my normal post-workout meal (some chicken, brown rice, and cottage cheese). Right towards the end of my meal, I noticed my vision was a little funny, almost hazy. I was having a hard time focusing on things. Thought maybe I was just tired from the workout. A few minutes later, I was sending a text message on my phone, and noticed I couldn't see part of what I was typing. Thought maybe it was a smudge on my glasses, so I cleaned them off. Looked back at my phone, and now a good portion of my phone screen was completely blocked from my vision. I knew something wasn't right. My heart started to pound shortly after, and I went upstairs to lay down. The best way I could describe my vision was similar to when you get a migraine headache. Seemed like parts of my vision were just blocked out entirely. I laid down and messaged a friend of mine to get on google and look up NO-Xplode and see if anyone else had reported any weird side effects. A few more minutes had passed, and I was completely blind in my right eye. I could see what looked like strange, rolling, electrical patterns filling my whole field of view, almost like morphing lightning bolts covering my eyes. A few minutes later, my friend got back to me, and I tried to make out the words on my phone screen as best I could. By this time, I was close to hyperventilating and had a massive splitting headache. Nothing my friend told me was good. Hundreds of reviews online from people saying things like "NO-Xplode gave me the worst headache I've ever had." "I felt like I was dying." "Made me so sick, I started vomiting and couldn't stop." "Can't stop shaking." "My body is convulsing and won't stop." "I feel like my brain is collapsing in my head." "My blood pressure dropped, and I thought I was going to die." All this from a SINGLE scoop of NO-Xplode. I was debating in my head whether or not I should call an ambulance, but I decided to wait it out and see what happened. My body was shaking, and I still couldn't see. My vision started to go black in my left eye, and I was still getting those weird electric patterns everywhere I looked. My heart was beating strangely, and I felt like I was about to pass out. I closed my eyes and just kinda laid there freaking out for 15-20 more minutes, trying to calm myself down. After about 30 minutes, my vision in my right eye started coming back. The weird electrical patterns were fading, but I was still pouring sweat, and the splitting headache was in full force. Another 15 minutes went by, and I felt completely drained and exhausted from the trauma my body just went through. I fell asleep for about 30 minutes, and woke up with an even worse headache. Luckily, my vision had returned...which brings us to right now. I'm still extremely nauseous, and trying to nurse a splitting headache. Been drinking tons of water, and trying not to do anything to aggravate how I'm feeling.

I checked on Amazon, and unfortunately this product isn't eligible for a return, so I can't get the gift card money back for this purchase. If I had a lawyer, I would pursue further action with the manufacturers of this product, but unfortunately I don't. I can't believe they can get away with selling a product that's putting people in the hospital and CAUSING BLINDNESS.

None of this is Amazon's fault, and everything on their end was top-notch like always, but I will NEVER take this product again, and I would NEVER refer anyone else to try this at any point in my life. I would never wish what I had to go through on another human being. This stuff should be banned. I'm almost insulted that I put this poison in my body. I wish that any of the other Amazon reviews had mentioned anything similar to what I'm saying. I never would have wasted my gift card on it. I'm sad I'm not able to get my money back, but such is life, I suppose.

If BSN reads this at any point, you should be ashamed. You're profiting off a product that is physically harming people...a LOT of people. I hope this review helps someone in the future to STAY AWAY from NO-Xplode. Maybe you're one of the lucky ones who takes it with no problem, but believe me, there are A LOT of people out there who have severe adverse to reactions to this as I did myself. That's all I have to say.

I am a huge fan of BSN products and thought I would give this a shot. Its OK, you feel it kicking in when you need it most but u also feel it leaving you just as fast. I like that it does not give you the gitters, that's always a good thing. I read in other reviews how it affected some people's organs and such, like anything like this products, you MUST take a break from using it after a while! Its not a protein this is a pre workout! This did not quite do it for Me, I switched to C4 and that is an amazing product. its not for everyone but that's what works best for Me. My workouts have been phenomenal since the switch,

I've gotten some pretty decent results from using this product. It won't make you super pumped up or energized or anything like that, but it helps you keep going longer before you burn out. Just make sure to take it on an empty stomach. The only qualm I have with this product is the revolting taste. Absolutely disgusting. It says to use 5-6oz of cold water per scoop but the flavor is way too strong to drink. I use about 8-10oz of ice cold water to tone down the taste, but it's still terrible. Hands down the worst tasting BSN product in production. If you can take it, it's a worthwhile product, but I won't be ordering it again. Blechh.
