This is one more waterbed additive that is supposed to prevent the growth of microscopic organisms in the water that could cause an "off" odor. Very often, you can fill a waterbed and you won't find odors developing. More often you will unless you add something to the water. Some antidandruff shampoo would probably suffice as probably would some aquarium algaecide.

Some products also claim to keep the mattress vinyl from drying out, which is pure poppycock. All vinyl will harden as a normal aging process, which is accelerated by exposure to ultraviolet light--normally not an issue for waterbed mattresses.

What's in this stuff? Who knows? Does it work to help prevent odors? Possibly, almost anything would.

It won't hurt. Shop for price--this bundle isn't too bad.

Re the direction to add more three, six, or twelve months presumably ad infinitum, ignore that dose once or twice and leave it at that.

If you need to pay postage, may as well get lots.

Hard to find waterbed stores anymore and they are spendy.
