SleepRight Adjustable Night Guard - Low Profile

My dentist wanted me to buy a $560 guard, so I decided to try this one first before I spent all that money. I initially had a hard time adjusting to this night guard. I woke up fairly often during the night and sometimes had a sore jaw during the day for the first two weeks I used it. Eventually, though, I did get used to it and now I don't know how I slept without it. It works by putting two small piece of plastic between your teeth. I find that I might bite down on it more than I did without it, but it keeps my teeth from grinding against one another and wearing down.

I have suffered from teeth grinding for some time now. My wife had been complaining about it. It would also wake my baby daughter, who sleeps in a bed in our room. I just tried it on for the first time last night. The first thing I did when I woke was to ask my wife if I still ground my teeth last night. And she said NO! Wow! It really works.

I should have bought this a long time ago. It did not take long for me to get accustomed to the device. And I slept soundly all throughout the night.

This mouthguard does the job for my bruxism, however, it's shape produces a sore mouth in the morning. The upper and lower side "guards" that prevent swallowing the whole device actually protrude into your upper and lower gum line, creating some morning soreness. I solved this problem by customizing the device; cutting off these sideguards. So, it's okay, but I'll try a different brand now.

This device is too flimsey to do any good. I returned the one I bought and the company never returned my money!
