Liquid Health - Sleep Well Drops - 2.03 oz.

Liquid Health - Sleep Well Drops - 2.03 oz.This was recommended to me by my naturalpath Dr. First time I bought it at his office and when I ran out I looked on amazon and found it so much cheaper. For me it worked like a charm. Finally able to sleep with out the constant waking up. It did take a few days to be in my system before the desired results.

This stuff does a better job of getting me to sleep when I'm restless or stressed than anything else I've tried.

Product was not satisfactory. It did perform as expected and label indicated product was not to be taken by those with auto-immune disease which was not specified in the initial description.

DREAM Smooth Stretch Spandex Cap (Pack of 12) (Model: 031)

DREAM Smooth Stretch Spandex CapI love these spandex caps I use them when I go bike riding, you can put it under your helmet, the bad thing about these are the shipping cost. These items should be ship via post office because it's cheaper, yeah you won't get it as fast via u.p.s or fedex but sometimes the post office are fast too.

Melatonex Melatonex Tablets

Sun Source Melatonex Melatonin with Vitamin B6 Tablets, 30 CountMelatonex is the only brand I can use. It helps me stay asleep through the night, while most other company are not as effective.

I have been using this off and on for years. My local store stopped stocking it so I quit taking it for awhile and tried some various brands of Melatonin. I never found one that works as well as this one. The time release formulation of this particular brand seems to work better then others. There was one other brand of Melatonin that worked well but it was not time release and I would find myself waking up in the middle of the night. My father started taking this recently and he said he really enjoys it as well. I am glad amazon is offering this product. I actually signed up for the monthly delivery option.

I first tried this product several yrs ago, & followed pkg directions, taking 1-2 tablets before bedtime. I felt cloudy the next day/days after taking it, almost like a mild hangover. I didn't take it for awhile, and then I reduced the portion I took. One needs to work oneself up toward what seems to be best for the individual. I realized after the long, good nights sleeps, that when I'd awake, my eyes were "stuck" shut, which I'd forgotten had been NORMAL when I was a child. It has helped me to sleep sooo much, I really do urge people to try it, and start out with small portion of tablets, to see what amount works well for YOU. It's natural, and I believe it has some vitamin B added to it, also. Blessings,

I.ve tried other melotonin brands and this one has stood the test of time, works best and includes B6. No fogginess when you wake up but start with a low dosage first like a 1/4-pill then work your way up according to your needs. Too much dosage gave me a headache the next morning. You can get it cheaper on Amazon likely because the expire dates are sooner than you think but I don't know how much effectiveness is lost after the expire dates. Like many other items I think they a good for a while.

Emwave2

Emwave2, Silver BlueI'm sorry to all the cynical naysayers on the Emwave 1 page (most of whom seem like they need a serious dose of chill-out, my friends!). I think this thing is super-cool.

Background: I'm almost 10 years sober and have done a lot of work meditating, and basically just developing a common-sense spiritual practice that includes stuff like The Power of Now.

I just need something fun to sort of force me to sit and do the breathing thing. A motivator, if you will. If it looks cool and fun, all the better.

Yes, this is a bit pricey, but in all fairness you can see the amount of serious work that went into this thing. The software that comes with it (which thankfully does work on my Mac -was a bit worried about that) has tutorials and a really pro interface. It's fun to sit and watch it. (I realize I'm suddenly sounding like an ad, but this is a positive review, so!) It has "games" like the Coherence Coach, which I'm sort of half-assedly doing as I type this, which has relaxing music and a gentle voice leading you through relaxation techniques. I see three other games I haven't clicked on yet, one of which is a garden where color appears as you relax.

Maybe this stuff wasn't in the Emwave 1; I have no idea. Just heard about it from a review on Stresseraser, which was the first device I was considering over Xmas.

Okay, now I'm running the Garden Game. This is goofy and fun. Little twinkles as you change "coherence levels." Very relaxing.

I also dig:

1) Rechargeable. No batteries. I wonder how long the charge lasts, though. And now that I think about it, this could be a "con" if I'm traveling without a laptop. Maybe an adaptor would do the trick? Note to self: Need to find out. Anyway, still think it's a "pro."

2) Ear clip! I didn't think this was a big deal until I started writing this review while using the device.

Finally, I'd like to address the notion of "half-assed," which is how I'm using this device at this moment.

Sometimes it's a good thing. Like most of us with chronic stress, I'm a hideous, horrible perfectionist. I read a negative review where someone was complaining that they would be about to "achieve" the highest rating and then would get stressed about getting there, which would lead to them "losing" the rating.

This sort of thing (which I, too, am prone to ... I'm the one buying a stress-related machine, after all) underscores the idea that a machine alone can't help you relax. It has to be a tool in conjunction with "attitude" (or, if you don't object to the term, spiritual) work. I recommend The Power of Now and The Sedona Method. (Also AA, which has worked wonderfully for me.)

Like the saying, "life is a journey, not a destination," relaxation is a process, not a goal.

It's obsessive goal-seeking (and believe me I know all about this) that creates so much misery in our world today: living in and for the future, instead of celebrating what's happening at this very moment. Breathing in. Breathing out. Writing a goofy review on Amazon. Watching a 9-point field of Verdana letters expand as I click little keys on a little keyboard. The sound of traffic outside my window. My cat snoring behind me.

This is what it's all about. Right now. And it's good.

------

(p.s. paid 150 for this on amazon, but now, only a few days later, see it's 228! i probably wouldn't have bought it for this price! it seems worth it, but just fyi guess i was lucky, and hope you will be, too!)

update 1/16 actually using it

I finally got around to using it the "right" (or most intensive) way, with the "healing hands visualizer," which is basically like one of the iTunes "visualizers", but which changes color based on your "coherence" level. Great if you don't mind a wee bit of New Age-y music and vibe.

If you're more techno-music oriented, there's also a visualizer under "coherence coach" called water droplet that's nice. And there's an option to upload your own playlist.

I guess one of my fears with this was that I'd never _actually_ use it, but it was a very relaxing experience. Really soothing, and I upped my first official "tracked" score by stopping looking at whether I was in "coherence" and simply thinking about happy memories.

I think this is going to be an excellent way to renew my daily meditation practice.

Still really happy with this purchase.

update 1/24 stress to non-stress

I had an interesting experience last night.

Had a bit of bad financial news, so suddenly been stressed about money, but thought I was doing okay. Put on the emwave 2 before bed, and was shocked to see that, in fact, I was in "ALL-red" non-"coherence."

Came over to the computer to plug it in, and saw my heart was, in fact, racing compared to previous sessions. I was in only 15% coherence (on "Low" challenge, no less!), where I'm usually 70-90%!

Ran the "coherence coach."

The interesting thing was, while the regular breathing helped to get me into coherence somewhat, it only REALLY started going down when I started replacing my fearful thoughts ("if I don't make money I'm what will I do, I'm screwed, etc.") with thoughts like "I've always been taken care of," "everything's always worked out," and better YET, REMEMBERING / PICTURING times of plenty and safety (which have always followed fearful times, one way or another: which proves everything works out).

Tinnitus

This is revolutionary for me. I'd also like to mention I'm also a tinnitus sufferer, although an audiologist told me not to talk about it because it gives in "energy." But I think it's more important to share helpful news. Like many, I've noticed when the ringing is "mysteriously" louder, looking back I can see stressful circumstances surrounding it (it'll even "turn up in volume" very noticeably after a stressful thought). This device reminds me that, while tinnitus may not be under my control per se, my reactions ARE under my control! Another thing I noticed after reading the reviews of StressEraser (which I was considering buying first), was that when I'm stressed, 9 times out of 10 if I check my breathing I'll see I'm actually "holding" my breath, essentially choking off my air supply!

Summary

My conclusion is that by practicing more positive thoughts, avoiding resentment and cynicism (even cranky reviews, "feedback" or forums online ... you know what I mean), paying attention to my breathing and replacing fearful thoughts with safe thoughts, I can minimize negativity that's "hiding in the background" -i.e., I may THINK I'm "handling it," but physiologically my heart rate and breathing tell a different story.

This is why I got this. To develop the PRACTICE of de-stressing.

Re-ran the emwave with the positive thinking, and instantly went back to 88% coherence. Wows! (It also helps to not obsessively watch your "progress" ... just breathe and think positive stuff. When connected to the computer I'll even close my eyes some sessions so I can't see my coherence level, then look at "score" afterward. I seem to score as well or better like that.)

If you get it, be sure to use the computer "coherence coach," and make those thoughts POSITIVE, it seems to be working!

I've had a "StressEraser Portable Biofeedback Device" for several years. I have been working with a neurofeedback / biofeedback training specialist for several months (expensive, but worth it!). As I prepare to conclude my twice weekly sessions, I want to have something at home to help me maintain the gains I made during the months of neurofeedback training and tools to quiet my mind when I'm experiencing stress to which I can't otherwise regulate my reactions. I find feedback very helpful for getting the most of the time I invest in calming myself. The StressEraser provides feedback, but the EmWave2 provides much more feedback, particularly when using the device in conjunction with a computer. I sometimes have trouble getting the StressEraser to detect my pulse through the finger sensor and it is difficult to find a position in which to relax while using the StressEraser without losing the connection. EmWave2 addresses the connection issue nicely with an ear clip sensor. EmWave2 offers more options than does StressEraser and is easier to use. There are many optional accessories (books and software) available to add-on to the EmWave2 but "what's in the box" should be sufficient for most users.

This device is simply amazing! Anyone can pace their breathing and think happy thoughts, but this tells me I am doing it right. Once it arrived, I barely read the instructions and just powered it on. (after 2 hour initial charge) I put my thumb on the sensor, and started breathing in and out with the pacer. After being stuck in the blue zone and finally transitioning to green (15 minute total session time), I felt amazing. I did this right before bed and felt extremely relaxed. It felt like a body buzz from alcohol, with no loss of lucidity. I went straight to sleep with no issues. (normally takes me some time to slip into sleep) The next day, I awoke extremely refreshed and did another session before work. It set the tone for my entire day, in a way I couldn't imagine. It was hard to have a negative thought and I felt very good. I've done about six more sessions since then and man it just gets better. I love the instant feedback and being able to look at charts of my progress. I know the heartmath institute can be a bit extreme on their stance of the heart, but I love what this device has done for me so far. I already meditate, eat a high quality diet, get proper sleep, take key vitamin supplements and use brain training tools and supplements. Even with all that, this device still has a place, in improving my overall well-being. I will try to update after a month or more of use. Hope this helps and best of luck.

I can't tell if this gadget helps me meditate better, but I sure meditate a lot more because it makes meditation fun. There's a clearly defined goal, and the goal is pretty easy to reach, so it's fun the way games can be fun. I notice the price bounces around a lot, the way your meditation skill bounces around a lot, so if makes sense to watch the price fluctuations before you put your money down (I paid $150 on Amazon in February 2012.)

I've been using the device for a few days now and found it to be very effective.

The device is basically a heart rate variability monitor. Simply put, the device measures your heart rate in real-time and records the data. Most people have a misconception that the heart rate is steady and can be represented as a single number. In reality the heart rate number most people think of is actually your average heart rate over a period of time. In a healthy individual the period of time between each heart beat will vary greatly.

The software included with emwave2 plots the data on a chart to show you a graphical representation of your HRV (heart rate variability). If you're stressed the swings from high to low tend to be irregular and appear jagged. On the other hand, when your body is in a "coherent" state the chart appears as a nearly perfect sin wave.

Getting your body to switch from a stressful state to a coherent state is the difficult part. There is a countless number of ways to accomplish this including breathing exercise, meditation or prayer. One of the features included in the software is the Coherence Coach. It will teach you how to breath at a regular pace while thinking of positive thoughts. If you're not happy with this method just use whatever method works for you.

Once you get the hang of things you can switch back to the chart to see how well you're doing in real-time. It will rate your HRV as either red (bad), blue (ok), green (good). It will then score your session based on how much time you spend in the red/blue/green zone. I was able to achieve a coherent state after about 10-15 minutes of practice. Your results may vary based on how stressed you are or how effective your method is. The more you practice the easier it will be to reach the coherent state.

Although I've tried breathing exercises I wasn't able to get them to work as effectively without seeing the biofeedback. I believe that after a few months of training the biofeedback will no longer be necessary.

One star deducted because of the high price.

World's Finest Ear Plug---(6-Pair) Personal Pack

World's Finest Ear Plug---(6-Pair) Personal PackAs unromantic as it sounds, my sweetie (who often snores loudly) gave these to me for my birthday. I had been talking about buying custom made earplugs and he thought these might be a good alternative. Well, I love the earplus and I love him for getting them for me.

It took me a little while to get used to them but now I've been using them nightly for 6 months. I am so much happier now. I had been using foam earplugs, but they would fall out multiple times during the night.

These stay in and work so well that sometimes I don't hear the alarm clock. Every so often I need to push them back in to "reseal" them, but generally I make it through the night without a problem.

The biggest drawback is that once in a while a couple of long hairs get caught it them. It is a little messy getting my hair out of the plug, but I can usually work it out pretty quickly. They're not perfect, but they are a lifesaver.

I find that each pair last me roughly 4-8 weeks.

These do take a little getting use to at first, but they block out more sound than anything else i've used. They also stay in my ears better than anything else i've used. I use these for sleeping and no other earplug stays in my ears all night (even these fall out sometimes, but not all the time like others).

One important caveat! If its a hot night they can melt and find their way inside your ear. In several years of using these it has happened twice. Once it came out on its own the next day, but the other time i had to go to the doctor and get it washed out. The company assures me it isn't dangerous and i didn't have any bad after-effects but something to watch out for.

I've been using these ear plugs for several years now and I am glad to see that amazon is now carrying them. I use them to help supress the snoring noise. I've tried just about everything on the market thru the years and these work best for me. I don't think anything will actually work to fully block the noise of a heavy snorer but they do work for light snoring and sometimes, I actually get a good nights sleep!

I use ear plugs to drowned out the sound of my spouse's snoring. I had used other ear plugs before and they were slightly too big and would make my ear canals ache. I tried these and love them. They mold to the shape of your ear and really drowned out all noises. I usually use the same pair of ear plugs for 2-4 weeks.

Want World's Finest Ear Plug---(6-Pair) Personal Pack Discount?

I've been using these for hearing protection while target shooting for a few years now, and they work absolutely great. I find them to be more comfortable than the cheap foam ear plugs, as well as reducing noise more effectively than anything else I've tried. But like any ear plug, you need to make sure you're actually putting them in correctly, it's crazy how often you'll find people complaining an ear plug doesn't work well when they're really just not using them properly. I can't speak to any other uses for them, but for hearing protection while shooting, I'd definitely recommend these.

BSN HyperFX, 30 servings

BSN Hyper FX Dietary Supplement, Blue Raspberry, 324 GramsI have tried many, many pre-workout powders over the past few years so I thought I would start writing reviews to help consumers by giving my personal experience with all the supplements I have tried.

PROS:

-Mild stimulant for those looking for just a little extra kick.

-Label specifies amount of caffeine (270 mg/serving) there are very few supplements that specify actual amount of caffeine.

-Affordable for tight budgets.

-Taste is not the best but tolerable compared to some.

-No creatine if you don't want/like creatine in your pre-workout.

-Not as many ingredients as some others, so to me, less ingredients= less fillers and additives. (In most cases)

CONS:

-No Nitric Oxide ingredients from what I read. (L-Arginine, etc.) I had to stack with my N.O. supplement (Nitrix) to get a pump.

-No creatine if you want creatine in your pre-workout.

-Too much sodium, which may make you feel slightly bloated sometimes.

I recommend this product to those on a tight budget and are looking for a little bit of an energy kick before lighter workouts. For those who need a real pump and a smack in the face for their workouts, I suggest a stronger pre-workout.

I've been working out and playing a variety of sports at the competitive level for years. I've tried many different energy drinks and supps and have developed a tolerance for caffeine. I bought this with an open mind but not expecting much. Hyper FX kicked my butt! I took the recommended serving size of 1 scoop and within about 10 minutes I could feel it kick in. I ended up doing a 12 round workout on the heavy bag and ran for 4 miles, and still had plenty enough energy that I could've done more but I ACTUALLY RAN OUT OF TIME! That's right, this stuff kept me jacked for nearly 2 hours of exercise and I would've done more but simply didn't have enough time alloted in my day. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to sleep that night (I took this at around 9 am) but it finally did wear off after I ate lunch. I'm only going to take this once or twice a week on days that I want to do a long, intense workout session and have the time to devote to a workout like that. I'm worried that I might develop a tolerance to it if I take it more often, so just a couple times a week for me. But this stuff works better than any other "energy" supplement I've tried. The blue raz flavor tastes decent, but I wish they'd make this in the green apple flavor, like their N.O. Xplode 2.0

I really thought jack3d was the best thing.... But this one is taking it's place for a better, tastier pre work out supplement, i love the berry raz flavor it tastes just like fizzy blue berry soda!!! I would definitely recommend this product, and i have a feeling bsn would win best pre workout supplement of the year this time haha!

I've been working out 5 days a week for the past 2+ years. By now working out has just become routine. I've never tried a pre-workout before because I work at starbucks and my routine has always been black coffee before a workout. I picked the blue raz up from GNC where my boyfriend works and I felt the difference instantly. I didn't get the crazy tingling sensation from it which I expected but the pump it gives me is intense. I went from running two miles a day with fatigue to being able to run 4 miles with the help of hyper FX without the fatigue that I naturally feel. I feel with the help and the push of this product, I can once again lose the last 15 pounds that I've been struggling to lose for about 6 months now. I'm afraid to taste the fruit punch one because it's not my favorite flavor, but I'll probably try it next. The blue raspberry flavor is incredibly delicious. 2 thumbs way, way up for this product!

SleepRight Adjustable Night Guard - Low Profile

SleepRight Adjustable Night Guard - Low ProfileMy dentist wanted me to buy a $560 guard, so I decided to try this one first before I spent all that money. I initially had a hard time adjusting to this night guard. I woke up fairly often during the night and sometimes had a sore jaw during the day for the first two weeks I used it. Eventually, though, I did get used to it and now I don't know how I slept without it. It works by putting two small piece of plastic between your teeth. I find that I might bite down on it more than I did without it, but it keeps my teeth from grinding against one another and wearing down.

I have suffered from teeth grinding for some time now. My wife had been complaining about it. It would also wake my baby daughter, who sleeps in a bed in our room. I just tried it on for the first time last night. The first thing I did when I woke was to ask my wife if I still ground my teeth last night. And she said NO! Wow! It really works.

I should have bought this a long time ago. It did not take long for me to get accustomed to the device. And I slept soundly all throughout the night.

This mouthguard does the job for my bruxism, however, it's shape produces a sore mouth in the morning. The upper and lower side "guards" that prevent swallowing the whole device actually protrude into your upper and lower gum line, creating some morning soreness. I solved this problem by customizing the device; cutting off these sideguards. So, it's okay, but I'll try a different brand now.

Daydream Swarovski Crown Nature Sleep Mask with Cool Pack

Daydream Swarovski Crown Pink Sleep Mask With Cool Pack, PinkWhen looking for a sleeping mask, I read reviews for 8 different masks, so I could make the best decision. So I thought I'd pay back to the community.

I've always had sleeping problems, and I figured the first step was to get a mask to block out the outside light. This mask is very lightweight, and has adjustable straps which are nice, seeing as the straps can get stretched out, and need to be tightened. There are foam pieces directly underneath the eyes to block out extra light, so as long as you position those right, then absolutely no light gets in. I love it, plus the colors are nice. As a bonus, sometimes I'll take out that cool pack and put it in the refrigerator for an hour, and then it's very cooling on the eyes!

In my opinion, it's as good a sleeping mask as you can get!

The first sleep mask of this brand I got as a gift. I was so excited that I ordered directly another one! The design is unique, the quality is outstanding! I can only recommend this mask!

I ordered this product for when I stay away from home and it is not as dark as my bedroom at most places. I love that the head straps on it are thin and adjustable. It stays in place and blocks out the light. The reason I gave it four stars is the cool pack. I may have left it over an hour like it says on the pack but it was just too much coldness for my eyes. May try less time like 30 minutes... I am recommending it.

Mindfold Sleep and Relaxation Eye Mask

Mindfold Sleep and Relaxation Eye MaskThe Mindfold allows me to meditate in complete darkness anywhere and at anytime. When I open my eyes my eyelashes don't hit the insides of the mask and this is much more comfortable than any other eye cover I've owned. I was able to sleep at Burning Man at Mid-day with this mask.

There is no substitute for the MindFold.

These are great, but flawed and CAN BE FIXED. Sure, they keep the light out the best and allow you to move your eyes/eyelashes in complete darkness. The problem, as others have noted here, is that the flat, thin plastic is sharp edgewise and is so darn over sized (see the ad photo) as to prevent any sleeping on your side with the mask on. I have bought these glasses for about 10 years, due to their (laying on your back) effectiveness. Finally, it came to me three years ago, a two part fix: 1. cut the plastic around the edge with some scissors! You can take 1/4" off all along the glasses, especially around the nose cutout (except the very ends which have the slots for the band) and that makes all the difference in the world comfort wise, and has no effect at all on the opaqueness or light blocking ability of the item. Now, (#2) here's another, equally important modification, an even better trick. Get some good, black (or any color, really) gaffers (duct, "duck", whatever) tape and remove the Velcro mask band ends and then put several layers of wide tape on the outside of the large black plastic sheet that comprises the non-foam part of the MindFold system. Then cut two little slots in the tape where the slots are in the black plastic and "re-string" the head band, and, you're done. What have you done? Extended the life of these $12 sleep goggles about three or more years with 45 seconds' work. In my experience, the plastic cracks from fatigue starting about 12 months in. With the gaffers tape on, the mask's plastic and crack all it wants, in fact the sheet can break, mine did about two years ago, and they are even more comfortable and just as light tight, even better because they bend more easily to your facial contours, with the tape on the outside. Save money, have fun, keep the same sleep mask for years, and, make it much, much, much more comfortable! Are you listening, Mindfold?)

Buy Mindfold Sleep and Relaxation Eye Mask Now

This is actually the second MindFold I've purchased, since my first one ran away during the move to my new apartment.

I fall asleep best in total darkness, yet I've always had problems with other sleep masks. If I have even the slightest pressure on my eyes my vision is "fuzzy" for about 20 minutes after removing the mask. With the MindFold, that's not a problem. It's great for sleeping during car trips... as advertised, you get darkness even in bright sunlight!

There are only two things that I'm not too crazy about. The velcro closures on the side make for a great fit, but always snag my curly hair. Also, the front of the mask is a stiff plastic. It has some give to it, but tossing and turning (like I do) is not the most comfortable with the mask on. I usually wake up to find the mask lying next to me somewhere. Neither of these issues are annoying enough to make me stop using my MindFold.

I almost forgot. When it arrived, my MindFold came in a clear plastic bag. Got some strange looks from the neighbors as to why I was getting myself a blindfold. My first one came in a box and I liked that better.

This product is exactly what it says it is. It is a piece of foam that has eyes cut out and then glued to a piece of plastic with velcro straps. Does anything in that sentence sound comfortable to sleep in? Its not. I find it impossible to go to sleep in this thing. I strongly suggest you look for something else if you wish to sleep but to give it a plus it does a great job at blocking at all light so im going to keep it for meditation.

Want Mindfold Sleep and Relaxation Eye Mask Discount?

This mask works well for sensory deprivation relaxation or meditation. It allows you to open your eyes while it's on. The front of the mask is stiff plastic, so it won't fold easily, letting in light. The only thing I don't particularly like is it uses a plastic-y foam rubber that is a little scratchy. Bed, Bath and Beyond has a more comfortable open-eye mask, but it's not as sturdy.

I am in love with this baby bath product. It is one of the best ones that I have found that does not include all the yucky chemicals in personal care products. No sulfates, no parabens and no artificial fragrances!. I use it for my toddlers bath shampoo. It has plenty of suds. It is a little watery so be careful not to spill it and waste it. But it is a great consistency to pour into the empty Johnson Natural foam bath pump. Again it smells so yummy.

I love Babo's new addition to the eco and body friendly line because it meets so many needs. The fragrance is not too strong and truly helps all three of my kids (and me!) relax in the tub. Fun and gentle bubbles clean skin gently and effectively and I have even loved it for my own hair. I cannot reccommend this product enough!

I recently bought the Lavender Meadowsweet Bubble Bath & Shampoo. Since I've become more chemical conscious, I haven't used anything but bar soap or just water to wash my 2 year old son. He dislikes water and up until then would only take a bath with lots of bubbles. He was SO happy to have a bubble bath again! Personally I've missed the smell of Johnson's baby wash, but this smelled 100 times better. I don't even generally like lavender scents, but I so enjoyed giving him his first all-natural bubble bath, and can't wait to use this for myself. He smells clean and divine! Thank you so much for a wonderful product.

Organic Bath Salt - Dead Sea Detox spa - Rose (13oz)

Organic Bath Salt - Dead Sea Detox spa - RoseI purchased the Organic Bath Salts in Rose, because I love the scent of roses. While I didn't detect a strong rose scent, the salts do smell very nice, just like something you'd purchase at an upscale spa. They come in a nice glass bottle, just as pictured. I used two handfuls for my bath and the smell was just right, not overwhelming. I especially liked the flower petals floating around me. My skin felt so nice and soft when I was finished. I would treat myself to this again. It's nice, relaxing, and a GREAT stress reliever. And the bottle looks pretty with the salts and flowers; too pretty to hide in a cabinet :)

I recieved this as a Christmas gift and I love it. It smells amazing, and it almost too pretty to use! It is very relaxing and the perfect way to unwind after a stressful day. I would recommend this to anybody who loves rose scented bath products.

The receiver loves it, and I was impressed with how beautiful the bottle and combination of bath salts and dried flowers was. Also, the vendor included a free sample of another product that I am definitely buying for myself.

Dental Hygiene Preferred Complete Day/Night Mouth Guard Kit, Colors may vary

Dental Hygiene Preferred Complete Day/Night Mouth Guard Kit, Colors may varyI first purchased "The Doctor's Night Guard" at my local drugstore, for around $20.00. Not a bad price, but the guard felt like a hockey puck in my mouth, it was so huge and clunky. And I bought the smallest size! Plus it fell out of my mouth every night (and I never knew when) so it didn't seem worth keeping when it didn't even stay put.

I came across this guard and decided to try it because the reviews were so good. I have to say I am extremely pleased with not only the price, but the customer service was good (very good communication and fast shipping) and most importantly, the guard is SMALL but still does the job and stays put all night. My only other option was to drop $500 at my dentist for a custom one, but I think this is a much better deal!

I've been using night guards for over 20 years, but this is the first time I've tried an off-the-shelf variety. I wasn't sure how they could compare to the expensive custom-fitted ones from the dentist -but I've been wearing through the expensive ones way too fast lately!

The directions are very clear, which is nice. I've gone through this process to make mouthguards with my children for martial arts sparring, so I had a general idea how it worked. But it was nice to have such precise instructions. It comes with two guards, which don't seem all that different at first glance, but the larger one is more massive -when you boil them, they keep their shape in the pot, but they get very soft and kind of sticky. So when you bite down on them, they can almost completely change their shape. The larger one thus has more plastic, or whatever, for forming a guard for a larger mouth/larger teeth (I used the small one). The nice thing about the forming process is that this stuff doesn't have that gelled-kerosene-like flavor of the molds the dentists use!

According to the instructions, you can re-boil the guard a couple of times without damage, so if you don't get it right the first time it's OK. Even so, my final product isn't as pretty as the custom ones, but I figure that even if I buy a couple of these a year, I'll come out ahead.

And I know, from many years of experience, that I'll sleep a LOT better with a guard in place. If you have grinding issues, it's worth a try! Do be sure you know what you are doing though, check with your doctor if you are concerned about TMJ (temporo-mandibular joint problems -pain around your ears or your temples, for example -this will prevent further wear and tear but not treat damage that has already occurred). Good luck and thanks for reading.

Update, a few months later: This one worked well enough, stayed in nicely and protected my jaws and teeth and helped me sleep better and all that, but it did get kind of worn out or chewed up inside. So I am trying the Archtek Grind Guard, which seems so far to be of a firmer "plastic" and which may hold up longer.

I had a $300 custom night guard from my dentist which was hard plastic and not very comfortable due to saliva collecting in the guard behind my front teeth. I tried this inexpensive guard and was able to use the smaller size which is effective even though it doesn't cover all the way to the back teeth. Still it is snug and effective in keeping my teeth apart and it is soft and comfortable. Try this and try the smaller size first. I thought it may be too small for me but I was wrong and the smaller size is definitely more comfortable.

Prior to buying this product, I spent $400 at the dentist for an acrylic night guard. I wore it out in less than two years, and was facing buying another. This product, on the other hand, is far less expensive, much more comfortable, performs just as advertised, and doesn't even have the worrisome off-taste of a new acrylic appliance. It is so affordable that I could wear it out frequently, but that hasn't happened yet.

For years I have suffered from migraines, inner ear infections, etc. I have been to countless doctors and even had an MRI, but couldn't get a diagnosis that made sense.

I was in for my regular dental checkup (new dentist) and she diagnosed me with TMJ. It can cause all of the above problems I've been having.

Well, my dentist wanted me to be fitted for a night guard that would prevent my teeth clenching at night. It was priced at $480!!!!! I don't have insurance.

Well, that night I went on Amazon and found this product. For less than $20!!!

I've been using it for several weeks now. I can't believe the change it has made in my life. No headaches so far, no more jaw pain, and my ear is clearing up.

THANK YOU THANK YOU for making a product that people can easily afford!!!!!

I would recommend that people try this night guard before spending big bucks on the custom ones.

The First Years Sure Comfort Newborn to Toddler Tub

The First Years Sure Comfort Newborn to Toddler TubFor newbornsthe tub is great using the mesh net. But they're not infants for long. I think I got about 4 months out of it.

For infants (about 4 mos and up), it's pretty good for the most part. My complaint is this: my 7 mo old who is quite chunky keeps sliding down in it. Her won't stay in the grooved part where they're supposed to keep it. She twists and turns and it gets slippery and she starts to slide down. Consequently, I have to keep one hand holding her crotch area to prevent her from slipping under the water. This doesn't make for easy washing w/ only one hand left to use. For that reason, I don't think it's the best.

EDITED:

I've owned this tub for 3 1/2 years. Used it with my first son and then with my daughter. It wasn't until about 4-5 mos after daughter's birth that I realized that I could sit my child straight up on the "toddler" side and then I don't have the slipping problem! Ugh. So much for my fancy college and graduate degrees!

My daughter is only 3 months old but she is really enjoying this tub. I chose this one after much researching since it seemed to be the best for the price range and did not have the "bump in the middle" issue that other tubs seem to have.

She used the hammock when she was a couple of weeks old and it made it very easy to sponge bathe her since, as new parents, we felt very awkward with a little newborn in our hands and this made bathing her a little less scary. As soon as we could we sat her in the newborn side, though, because the sling keeps her whole body out of the water and cold (I suggest placing a washcloth over baby's chest, and to keep it wet with warm water during her bath so she does not get cold. We still do that.). Now she's splashing around like a pro!

It's easy to drain the water out and the built-in "pocket" is handy for keeping the baby soap and shampoo.

We love this tub. We never bothered with the hammock so I can't comment on it. We still use it and she is almost 2 years old! We used the reclining side when she was a baby and used the toddler side after she could sit up on her on. It is so handy to be able to stand up straight at the kitchen sink and bathe her. Before I bought a tub, I thought about getting the Primo tub because it had such great reviews. However, when I saw it in the store, it looked gigantic. I took a chance on the less expensive First Years tub and I can't imagine anything being better.

This one does NOT include the sling! If you want the sling, they have it on Amazon (but you can also pick it up at Target).

I used this tub for my twins and it was the best! The sling really helps when they are tiny and slippery, the infant side is good and holds them well (the bump prevents them from sliding down), and the toddler side is good for when they can sit on their own. We used it until they were old enough for the real tub. With the sling, this would get 5 stars.

I bought this one for a baby shower gift expecting the sling to be included but the small print shows that it doesn't come with this one (if you scroll down on the page). After I received it, I realized there's one that is titled "with Sling". Amazon should change it so this one says "without sling".

It's a great product cuz it lasts a long time. I used this in the kitchen sink when my baby was a newborn and then we put it in the bathtub when he got older. I also really like the slots for the shampoo, etc... It's big enough that my son could probably fit in it until he's ready for showers. And of course it's cheap.

A couple of minor issues:

I washed the hammock with the laundry and it shrank, so I guess I'll have to find another one for the next baby.

I wish this tub would fold, compact items are just so much better.

I wish I could hang it up or something to get it out of the way-it just sits in our bathtub and is in the way when the adults go in to shower.

zMusic The sound way to sleep

zMusic The sound way to sleepI believe this product does at least half of what it claims to be able to accomplish for those with sleep troubles. I do fall asleep faster but on my worst nights it doesn't help me stay asleep. But it certainly helps me to stay relaxed and I do feel like I fall back to sleep faster than without it. I would recommend it for anyone with sleep trouble but don't expect a miracle.

This CD was first referred to us by a friend who is a psychologist that works with kids when one of our older children had sleep issues. She said it changes the brain waves to help ease the transition to sleep. Soon I was using it as well. If making the transition from your busy day to a restful sleep, I would try this CD, and the related movie if you can find it. I don't see it here on Amazon.

Stay On Satin Pocket Bonnet, Assorted Color

Stay On Satin Pocket Bonnet, Assorted ColorI ordered this after seeing a Youtube video about using this pocket bonnet in place of a LocSock. I have naturally curly hair and wanted a way to Pineapple my hair at night while being comfortable. I have a satin head rag that I use, but I can't use it to pineapple my hair at night. The recommendation for the pocket bonnet was excellent. It feels good at night and stays on too. I'll be recommending this as a more cost effective alternative to buying a LocSock. Here a link to the YouTube video that I watched:

If Amazon removes it go to YouTube and do a search for "Cheap way to preserve curls: Hooded Band alternative". The video was posted by Thelceiing

If you want static free hair with no tangles and wake up with your style the same way you went to sleep with then you should buy stay on satin bonnets. I love stay on satin bonnets but this the only thing i dislike is you have to tie it in the back but i had to tie in the front because tying it in the back it felt loose like it was going to fall off but i love their caps because those are easy to put on and you don't have to tie on anything at all! but I love STAY ON SATIN PRODUCTS BECAUSE THEY STAY ON ALL NIGHT AND IT REALLY DOES PREVENT BREAKAGE. I have extremely long hair and it has helped me extremely with preventing breakage from my hair. and also WAL-MART HAS THESE BONNETS FOR 2.00 In the Ethinic Hair Products Section!!

This bonnet is perfect for my medium length, Afro-textured hair. As my hair has gotten longer, it no longer fits in a regular-sized satin bonnet. This one fits my hair quite nicely and still has room in the bottom for when my hair gets longer. The bonnet stays on all night and the stretchy, soft material around the rim doesn't rub on my fragile hairline. When I take off the bonnet my hair looks just as good as it did the night before--whether I braided my hair up or left it loose. It's a keeper!

Want Stay On Satin Pocket Bonnet, Assorted Color Discount?

I bought this because for the length of my hair (between mid-shoulder blades) in a bonnet would come out looking all twisted and strange in the morning. So I figured with the pillow design there was enough room for my hair to hang freely enough to keep my ends smooth and eliminate restyling in the morning.

So my assessment is that yes, there is enough room for my hair to hang freely and it does stay on through the night fairly well. However, the "magic fabric" they refer to grabs onto my hair preventing it from actually swinging free. As soon as I put it on, my hair gets "stuck" on the fabric. So I turned mine inside out so that the satin side forms the inside of the pocket and that provides a little more movement for my hair.

Secondly, it's a little awkward stuffing your hair into the pocket. It takes a couple tries to get the technique down and even then you have to kind of hold onto the ties while you shake your head to get the hair to fall down into the pocket. This is impossible to do without it being turned inside out, by the way.

Since it ties in the back, I didn't have any issues with the "forehead lines" you usually get with a scarf or bonnet which is a plus.

But I definitely would not claim that my hair style stayed in-tact. It's still a little twisted looking when it comes out and I usually still have to bump my ends again in the morning which is what I was hoping to avoid because I don't like to put a lot of heat on my hair.

So overall, I'm still going to keep it because it does stay on all night and there is room where my hair isn't completely crumpled or flipped funny in the morning, but it doesn't do what I was hoping for.
