Nature's Bounty Maximum Strength Melatonin 10mg Capsules, 60-Count

Melatonin was recommended by my doctor over prescription brands (i.e. Ambien) when I asked for a sleep aid after surgery and, surprisingly, it actually worked very well right from the first night. My wife also has started using it and says she is sleeping much better, but my teen son says it leaves him feeling too groggy in the morning.

After doing some more research it seems 10mg is somewhat of a high dosage so I have switched to using Nature's Bounty Melatonin, 3 mg, 240 Tablets as the lower dosage works as well for me and my son, without the groggy feeling.

We picked this up locally to try, but will likely order on-line going forward.

For those wondering about taking this product, it is not intended to help you stay asleep, it's intended to help you fall asleep. I have tried lower doses before with little to no effect so I tried this high strength stuff and works out perfectly (33 yr old male, 200 lbs). I take it 30 min to an hour before I want to go to sleep.

Melatonin has solved my sleep problems. I highly recommend it to anyone who needs a sleep aid, but does not want to take a prescription sleep medication. I take a fairly high dose, but it works without any side effects. I fall asleep quickly, sleep through the night and wake up feeling fresh and alert since I started taking it a few months ago.

Both my wife and I tried this Melatonin to help us both sleep. She works late, so to avoid insanely late (i.e. early morning) bedtimes we decided this would be a good thing for her to try. Honestly, we both had very different results!

Loves this stuff! She finds it sends her to sleep very efficiently, without any grogginess come morning time. During the night she finds that she sleeps very soundly. She is absolutely satisfied with this melatonin it has a high mg count which is enough to provide all of the benefits listed above without any of the negatives normally associated with OTC sleep aids. According to her, she doesn't feel any dependency with this compound, something also noted with other OTCs.

Personally, I find melatonin to be more of an issue, and this particular brand is no help. While it does help me to fall asleep initially, I find that I sleep lighter and wake up more abruptly (after about five hours of sleep). Taking more than the directed amount helps me sleep for longer, but I wake up way too groggy, besides, I don't like exceeding recommended doses. Since this happens with all of the melatonin products I have tried, I didn't take off a star because of this.

Overall if you are looking for melatonin, this is a great product, if a little stronger than most.

I've tried several Melatonin products out there, but this one seems to work best for me. I thought the time-release would work best since I have trouble falling asleep and staying asleep, but unfortunately, the time-release products made me have restless nights, so I thought I'd purchase the 10MG and try it, and it works great! I take it one hour before I go to bed. I do wake up during the night, but usually go right back to sleep. One great thing I've noticed with the 10mg pills--at least with these--is that when I start to get sleepy, I don't feel drugged as I did with other products. I start feeling relaxed, and then a gentle sleepiness comes over me, so I don't feel like if I don't get to bed immediately, I'll just fall over; it's a more gentle, gradual sleepy feeling, and that's what I've been looking for. I also feel rested and refreshed when I wake up in the morning--no leftover tired, loopy feeling.
