I have had a cpap machine for a few years now. I recently got a new bed and pillows. I believe these things were causing me to sleep at an angle that was causing my mask to leak. I was waking up in the morning with sore eyes and a twitching in my left eye, that was lasting all day. I have been using these masks for over a year. I have a dry eye condition caused by the face my left eye does not close all the way. Using a standard fabric mask did not help at all .... it exasperated the problem The mask would move and the fabric would touch my eye making it even dryer and very painful. The silicone mask works great, the only problem is the strap becomes stretched out and needs replaced. They do wear out. I have 2 that I alternate. I will purchase more.

ok, so this eye cover is very dark.

the major downsides though are twofold. I am a side sleeper, so the mask leaves these deep impressions on the side of my face, lasting most of the day. the second issue is that since it is silicone it does not breathe like fabric. I never knew that eyelids could sweat. since this mask does not allow natural evaporation, your eyelids become uncomfortablely sweaty. I used it for a brief time, but I went back to my prior mask, the Sleep Master, also available on amazon.com. I work nights, so this is a big deal for me.
