For some unknown reason my local supplier gave me one that was way too large, which caused me to make multiple adjustments to it during the night. In 1993, scientists discovered that melatonin exerts a powerful antioxidant activity in the body, stronger even than Vitamin C. An atom with an unpaired electron will reach out and grab a replacement electron from another atom nearby. If this process becomes widespread and unchecked in the body, it can lead to extensive biological damage at the cellular level.
Melatonin has also been demonstrated to prevent DNA damage by carcinogens, and its antioxidant activity may reduce the effects of some types of Parkinson's disease. It has been found helpful in preventing cardiac arrhythmia. It supports the immune system and may be a helpful adjunct to treatments for autoimmune disorders of all kinds. Some research has indicated that it might help fight both viral and bacterial infections and potentially treat cancer. Researchers have theorized that reduced melatonin production in the body may be a contributor to the documented, significantly-higher cancer levels in night workers.
Low melatonin levels have been found to be associated with learning problems, especially memory disorders, including Alzheimer's. Researchers in Italy discovered that evening melatonin supplementation in perimenopausal women improved their thyroid function and reduced depression sometimes associated with the lowering of progesterone and estrogen levels in the body with the onset of menopause.
Clinical studies have indicated that melatonin may prevent migraines and cluster headaches, and it has been used as a treatment for seasonal affective disorder (SAD). Studies have also shown melatonin to have a protective effect against the ravages of radioactive fallout. People who suffer from irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) have found relief with melatonin. And last but not least, veterinarians often recommend melatonin for dogs suffering from aggression or anxiety, including fear of thunderstorms.
There is no one-size-fits-all dosage for melatonin. Most healthcare experts recommend "titrating" the dosage. That is, start out small and work up until the desired effect is achieved, in particular as a sleep aid. Some people receive relief from insomnia taking as little as 1 mg. per day. Others need up to 5 mg., the dosage in this particular version of melatonin.
Melatonin also comes in both pills that you swallow and sublinguals, such as this product, which are dissolved beneath the tongue. A sublingual allows the melatonin to be introduced directly into the blood by absorption through the blood vessels under the tongue, rather than having to pass through the stomach and digestive system. This means that more of the supplement gets into your system, and it gets there faster.
There are dozens and dozens of producers of melatonin on the market. I've taken melatonin for many years as a sleep aid, and I've been delighted to hear as research continues to be done on this supplement that not only is it safe, but it is healing and protective on multiple levels within the body. I also have spent many years of my life as a night worker, and it is good to know that night workers can make up for the damage that this can cause to the body, including (as mentioned above) a higher-than-normal tendency to get cancer.
Taking the "pill" is as simply as dropping it under your tongue and occasionally shifting it around a bit.
By time the "pill" has dissolved I am ready to doze off.

I am not one to argue whether melatonin works or not, I have had pretty good experience with it, but I would not recommend this particular product. As a fan of sublingual vitamins and supplements, I was excited to try this one. I took only one because it just tastes flat-out NASTY (very bitter). I also found the tablet very slow to dissolve for a sublingual product. It lingered so long it became annoying to hold under my tongue and I ended up chewing it instead. This defeats the purpose and benefit of a sublingual supplement altogether.The customer service was also lacking. It took more than 2 weeks to receive my order, and when I emailed to ask to return the product, it took more than 2 weeks for them to reply with return instructions. I paid to ship the bottle back, even paid for Delivery Confirmation to ensure it got there. The bottle arrived, but my refund never did. I emailed them to ask about the status of the return/refund and never received an answer. Not a good experience at all.

OTC Shoulder Immobilizer with Sling and Swathe
This immobilizer works fine once you get it on, but it is bulky, difficult to adjust, and difficult to put on out of the box. The elastic type of immobilizer is better because you can usually get it on yourself and its ten times more comfortable. Presumably, you are looking at this as an upgrade from the one they gave you at the hospital and I am telling you this is a purchase you will most likely regret. It has the proper design elements to immobilize your shoulder better than a standard arm sling, but those elements are so poorly put together that you are better off without it.

I am currently wearing this product as I am writing this review. It is made in the USA, which is a plus, in my opinion. It is very lightweight but it does the job, well enough. It is padded and covered with what feels like fleece and is held together with velcro straps. I found it easy to put on and take off, however, I found the shoulder strap to be less than useless so I keep it wrapped around my waist and clipped to the hand rest instead of over my shoulder. The waistband works well enough by itself to hold my arm close to my body. I have found it useful to also use the velcro tape that holds on the hand rest to further keep the waistband from coming apart. The waistband has a tendency to stretch a bit and ride up, but it is very easy to readjust. I bought this product to use after having a SLAP repair done on my left shoulder (labrum tear). The cheap large synthetic brace given to me at the hospital had caused a severe heat rash all along my forearm, so I was looking for a brace that would leave this area exposed while providing the necessary support.The problems with this product:
1) Ridiculously complicated and impossible to put on:
Forget ever being able to put this on all by yourself. Even with another person it is damn near impossible. The picture on amazon.com does not show the complex set straps, hooks, loops, etc. that run across your back in every direction to keep this contraption on you. Most are unreachable. However, even if they were, the complexity of the entire set up definitely makes it a two man operation.
2) Very little support:
I thought the manufacturer had figured out a way to immobilize the shoulder while eliminating the necessity of an arm/elbow sleeve portion to the sling. Turns out they didn't, but just went ahead and removed that part anyway. The bicep and wrist are held down while the elbow is free to swing away from your body with the slightest movement. Granted it's a very limited movement, but this jostling is really bad if you're recovering from shoulder surgery. It puts pressure on the shoulder joint in a similar way that an Kimora (aka Americana aka figure four) armlock would. This might not make sense to people who don't wrestle but it's the only way i can find to describe it.
3) Impossible to put on over clothes:
There's a reason why the guy in the amazon product picture is wearing a skintight spandex compression shirt under his brace. The series of straps, hooks, etc. running across your body while wearing this brace make it impossible to put on over any sort of regular clothing. Even a standard t-shirt will bunch up in certain areas while being stretched in others under the pressure and movement of this brace. Think about it the primary mechanism for stabilizing the bicep is a loop around your entire torso. Good luck getting this loop not to slide around over a t-shirt while allowing enough give to maintain for normal breathing.
4) Ridiculous Looking:
I thought I didn't care how I looked while recovering from surgery. This brace taught me that there are limits. There are so many straps and parts to this thing (most are visible from behind). The complexity of this contraption gives the appearance that there is something much wronger with you than just your shoulder (think full upper body neurological issues). I don't know how to describe it. A mouth operated wheelchair would turn less heads.
I have no positives to report. For individuals dealing with a heat rash, I would recommend that you alternate with a mesh sleeve style brace and use something like gold bond medicated powder. If you insist on using the heavier surgical sling you get after surgery, put a towel or something inside it. This brace is not a realistic option.

Two weeks ago I had a level 3 AC separation, and although I have very little pain, my doc recommended that I keep the weight off of my shoulder especially when walking around. I tried two different traditional slings, but they would always creep toward my neck and cause horrendous upper back pain. Plus, I felt really cramped like I was wearing a half straight-jacket.This new sling is amazing! The waist belt keeps the shoulder strap away from my neck, so the pressure is like a normal backpack strap. Plus almost everything (see below) is really padded and pretty comfy. I'd say it's equally difficult to get this on as a traditional sling. I also love that I can slip my hand in the cuff when I'm walking around, and then easily slip it out when need to sign a receipt, I sit down, etc.
However, I doubt any sling is perfect, and here are the minor problems I've had with this one:
I'm 5'6'' and the shoulder strap was too long to keep my arm raised high enough. However, I was able to fix this with safety pins
After wearing this for a long time, my wrist gets a little uncomfortable. However, this is nothing compared to the back pain I had from traditional slings.
The clips that attach the shoulder straps are not padded, and sometimes poke my back a little if I wear this while sitting in a chair.
I don't really see the point of the arm band (maybe it is better for a different type of injury), and I prefer to keep my arm elevated slightly above my waist, so the arm band isn't really at the right place for me. Instead, I just velcro that part down to the waist belt and it stays out of the way.
I got this about two weeks after my injury so I'm starting to move my arm a little. A traditional sling might have been better at completely immobilizing my arm, especially since the arm band doesn't work for me.

As unromantic as it sounds, my sweetie (who often snores loudly) gave these to me for my birthday. I had been talking about buying custom made earplugs and he thought these might be a good alternative. Well, I love the earplus and I love him for getting them for me.It took me a little while to get used to them but now I've been using them nightly for 6 months. I am so much happier now. I had been using foam earplugs, but they would fall out multiple times during the night.
These stay in and work so well that sometimes I don't hear the alarm clock. Every so often I need to push them back in to "reseal" them, but generally I make it through the night without a problem.
The biggest drawback is that once in a while a couple of long hairs get caught it them. It is a little messy getting my hair out of the plug, but I can usually work it out pretty quickly. They're not perfect, but they are a lifesaver.
I find that each pair last me roughly 4-8 weeks.
One important caveat! If its a hot night they can melt and find their way inside your ear. In several years of using these it has happened twice. Once it came out on its own the next day, but the other time i had to go to the doctor and get it washed out. The company assures me it isn't dangerous and i didn't have any bad after-effects but something to watch out for.

I've been using these for hearing protection while target shooting for a few years now, and they work absolutely great. I find them to be more comfortable than the cheap foam ear plugs, as well as reducing noise more effectively than anything else I've tried. But like any ear plug, you need to make sure you're actually putting them in correctly, it's crazy how often you'll find people complaining an ear plug doesn't work well when they're really just not using them properly. I can't speak to any other uses for them, but for hearing protection while shooting, I'd definitely recommend these.

They arrived yesterday, so today I put a pair in my ears and went for a 200 mile mini-tour on my motorcycle. They did a good job of reducing the helmet wind noise. But when I got home and pulled them out, I found that the flanges were already losing their shape.I have used other soft earplugs for the same purpose, they eventually all lost their shape, but NOT THE FIRST TIME I USED THEM! I have also used the throw-away foam plugs, but they don't stay in my left ear well.
I guess I will have to go to an Otologist and get some custom made (expensive) earplugs before I am satisfied.
ADDED: Today I checked them again to see if they have regained their original shape, and they have not. They will lose their shape more as I use them, so I won't be able to use them for very long. Can't someone make soft earplugs that don't take on a permanent set?
ADDED AGAIN: I have upgraded my 1 star rating to 4 stars. That little bit of 'set' has not gotten any worse after several more rides. They are working fine. By the way; I do not use the cord when motorcycle riding.

I have rosasea and am always reluctant to try new products. WHITE Knee Ease Pillow with Removable Cover
The pillow is a little small for me. Maybe it is because I toss alot, but it was difficult to keep in place while I slept. I have purchased a different pillow that is longer and has two straps, and I am finding it works much better.

Received the gun two days back, and been loving. Initially I was a little hesitant to eat it because I was expecting its bitterness to hit my mouth as soon as I chewed it (thats the idea I got from some of the reviews) but honestly its not bitter AT ALL. In fact, my normal coffee tastes more bitter than this. Its a great alternative to coffee or energy drinks. I consume a lot of caffeine and used to drink a lot of Monster but now this works as a great substitute. One drawback is the inevitable bitter taste. Caffeine is bitter and at 100mg of Caffeine a piece it is impossible to hide. Still though, who is chewing this for the flavor? A pack of this will keep you up all night and all the next day.These work in minutes--which is fantastic (especially when I'm suddenly sleepy in the car or at a meeting) and they don't give me heartburn like coffee can (and, hooray, because it's gum & not liquid, it also keeps me from needing the bathroom a million times, like coffee, tea, or soda--which is AWESOME!). They travel well too. The only thing I don't like is the taste after about 2 minutes (they say to chew it for 5 minutes) and there are times I just can't chew it the whole time becuase the taste is just bitter and icky--HOWEVER, the gum works SO well for me that I have started associating the bitter taste with waking up/perking up, so I'm getting used to it. But these new Arcic mint gums really put up with that this is the perfect caffein kick for whem you really need it (i dont normally drink coffee, don't know how good they work if you drink coffee daily, but they should contain as much caffein as 1 cup)
