Unisom SleepGels, 32 Softgels per Box (Pack of 2)

As someone who suffers from occasional insomnia and/or getting turned around on my sleep schedule (graduate student), Unisom has always worked great. A few do's and don't's. I wouldn't drink while taking it, just common sense. Take it 15-45m before you intend to go to bed. Don't take it unless the time you intend to go to sleep allows you to get 7-8 hours of uninterrupted sleep. If you take it and you're one of these people who only get 5-6 hrs sleep, you WILL be drowsy when you wake up IF you wake up on time. It's knocked me out hard enough to miss a class because I was trying to get up 5-6 hrs later. Won't work, this stuff works for 8 hours. Period. If you take it any later than midnight, regardless of how much sleep you're trying for, it seems to screw with your internal clock and may make you want to sleep more than 8 hours. Probably hormone related. Don't take it and then stay up past the 45m window. 60m is probably the outer limit before you're just going to be "too tired to sleep" and then you're really screwed up, so only take it when you're sure you will be IN BED within 45m. I have personally never had an adverse reaction. Don't take 2 just because you think medication doesn't effect you as hard. God knows what it will do. If you use 1 and it 'doesn't work', you need to see a doctor for Rx sleeping pills.

I typically buy the original unisom (doxylamine) but one day grabbed these by accident. I was a bit aggravated to get home and realize it was diphenhydramine which is just benadryl. It helps me get to sleep ok but the other knocks me OUT for when i really just want good amazing SLEEP (doesn't happen often as i am a very light sleeper). It was a sad day but they do their job so-so for me. It would probably be cheaper though to just buy off brand benadryl and take 2 of them.

I used this inflateable bed after shoulder surgery. I was able to position it at a variety of angles to get comfortable. I used a pillow to support my lower back where my bed and the inflateable met. I also put pillows under my knees. That helps with compfort and helps prevent sliding down the bed.

This worked very well for me. It is much more comfortable than sleeping in a recliner and a lot better deal than renting a hospital bed or buying an adjustable bed.

This product is AWESOME!! My daughter has very fine hair. Finding a way to give her mid length hair body, is really tricky. I dont want to use a curling iron, because it will damage her hair. So, we gave this a try.

I put some styling gel in her hair last night after her shower, and these were SUPER easy, and fun to put in. She slept very comfortably in them, and this morning taking them out was fast, and totally painless! She looked in the mirror and was absolutely elated!!!! Thank you so much, whoever came up with this idea!!! You are a genious!

If your hair is longer than neck length, most of these rollers will be too short for your hair. Also, if your hair is regular or thick, this box does not contain enough rollers. If you have short, thin hair, it will be okay for you. The girl on the box wouldn't be able to use these rollers at all!

Also, the handle on the stick used to pull hair through the roller falls apart with every attempted use, you need to wrap strong tape around it to keep it together.

Bottom line, this product does work but only if you have short/thin hair. If your hair is longer, a product like this will work, but the assortment in this box is basically useless. They should do a better job of informing customers of this so that people like me don't waste our money.

These work great if you have shoulder length hair. I had long hair that stretched just below my shoulder blades and they werent long enough to cover the full length of my hair. So I ended up buying two sets. However they work well and was quite happy with the results.

I just received these yesterday and I slept on them last night. This morning I have beautiful curls that have lasted through the morning (usually my curling iron curls are dead by the time I get to work). I have fine blonde hair, but kind of a lot of it, and it comes down past my shoulders, to about about where my armpit starts.

I put them in last night with more than damp but not sopping wet hair. The process was pretty easy. I had watched a bunch of youtube videos before I did so I could really see the process. My hair got stuck in them twice, but it was easy to get it out and redo it. They are a little short for my hair, I had to pull them down farther from the root to make sure the ends got curled, but in the end I think it made for a more natural look. Sleeping on them wasn't too bad... I think it would have been worse is the curlers were pulled up closer to my roots.

I was afraid that the curls were going to come out too tight and perm-y but they came out great. I only used the larger rollers because my hair is on the longer side. That also forced me to put more hair into each roller, which I think is what helped it come out looking natural and not like I got a weird perm.

Overall I'm really happy with them, and I'm glad to have an alternative to heating my hair.

Edit: I've had these for over a month now and I couldn't be happier with them! The curls last all day and into the night, especially if I put them in really damp from showering and then sleep on them. Although if I spritz my hair with water and put them on the drier side I can sit with them on for about an hour and they'll last through the day but they look a little tired at night.

I always get compliments when I use them to do my hair, and it takes less than five minutes to do them in the morning. I brought them along when I went to a work conference and it worked out great.

I knew when I purchased this that it was just a liquid form of Benadryl. That being said, sometimes formulation can make a difference, and I had a $2 coupon, so I figured it was worth a try. I took the recommended dose at bedtime, and a couple hours later, felt absolutely no effect. If diphenhydramine makes you drowsy, this product may work for you, but it's much cheaper to pick up the tablet form, most drugstores carry a generic or store brand with the same amount of active ingredients as Benadryl.

What's really odd is that the ingredient in Nyquil which makes you sleepy, Doxylamine Succinate, and which many people, myself included, find to be very effective, is not the the active ingredient in this medicine. I don't know why they would just go with what was already working for them. I've tried a number of sleep aids, but Doxylamine Succinate was the only one I ever found really effective.

If you like Nyquil or simply Doxylamine Succinate, I recommend the kirkland brand. Very effective.

I admit, this product did help me fall asleep; however, it made me groggy from when I got up in the morning and throughout the day. I have to admit, I did not like it at first. It did not work well the first time I used it. But now that I gave it another chance, I really love it. It is good for folks who don't like pills or just don't feel like dealing with it. The cough syrup-ey feeling makes you feel cozy and it is good for bedtime. The active ingredient is the same as benadryl, which really does help some people to fall asleep. So if benadryl helps you, this product will work for you. I would give benadryl a high rating as a once in awhile sleep aid. It's pretty safe and can be effective, but generic benadryl (or even name brand benadryl) is way less expensive than this product. It's the exact same medication, just a different packaging, marketing, and price. This is why I gave it a low rating--because of the price markup.

I was excited when I saw that nyquil was making a sleep aid because nyquil really does help me sleep when I take it for colds, but zzzquil does not contain the same medication that is found in regular nyquil.

Contour Memory Foam Leg Pillow with Cover

This pillow was too soft! It needs to be firm enough to keep your knees apart which is the whole purpose in using a leg pillow in the first place. This pillow was so soft that my knees ended up mashing it within minutes and therefore my knees were touching and the pillow was useless. I don't recommend this for anyone who needs a pillow for knee support for proper spine alignment and back health.

I have had a couple pillows of this sort. This one is perfect for me precisely because it is relatively soft and it isn't too thick. I am about 5 ft 8 in and 180 pounds, so not a huge man, but not small. I have knee problems and also a vascular malformation on one lower leg, as well as knobby knees. When I sleep on my side and my knees are together, I often have problems with lateral pressure on one knee, pressure between the knees causing blood stasis in the VM, or other problems. These are enough that I often have trouble sleeping or am awakened by pain. I sometimes sleep with a regular pillow between my legs, which has helped a lot, but it is very awkward under the covers. I tried a similar type of contour leg pillow that had much denser foam and was much thicker, but it was too dense and too thick -my legs just didn't feel comfortable with it, though I slept a little better. So I was looking for a thinner, softer pillow, which this is.

The bottom line is that these sorts of things depend a lot on personal preference, the size of the individual, why you need a leg pillow, etc.

My hubby and I have been using leg pillows for a while and needed new ones. We bought one of these and one of the HoMedics Ortho Therapy leg pillows, so here's my two cents comparing the two. This is the one that I use -I'm 5'7", female, average build. I like the pillow, the shape is good and the cover has a nice texture, but will almost certainly have to replace it in 12-18 months. I've already noticed that it is flatter than when I first got it a few weeks ago, though it isn't anywhere near problematic now.

My hubby is 5'9" and has some back problems, and prefers the HoMedics pillow. While he initially found it big and stiff, he's adjusted and likes it now. I've tried his once and it was FAR too wide/stiff for me -felt like I had a large cardboard box between my knees. I believe that the HoMedics will loosen up somewhat over time, but it seems more durable than the Contour, just too big for me.

This is a really soft pillow, with a very nice soft cover. Unfortunately, the inside is too soft to provide enough support for most people. When I put it between my legs, it gets compressed too easily and my legs touch, which is not what is supposed to happen. This leg pillow doesn't provide enough support to keep your legs apart while sleeping.

The memory foam is much too soft, so the pillow does not separate the knees, making it worthless. Earlier versions of the Contour kneee pillow were made of regular foam, so initially, they provided sufficient separation to relieve stress on the hips. Eventually, the foam compressed until the spacing was insufficient, requiring replacement every few years. This new pillow was supposed to be the replacement, but brand new, it's worse than my existing old one. Presumably, Amazon will take it back; they're usually good about this.

I've had problems falling asleep, but never tried any kind of sleeping pills until a few years ago. Of the couple of brands I've tried, this one seems to work the best, and is a great deal too. I do not have terrible insomnia but from time to time, I can't shut my mind down. I really like that I just feel sleepy, not drugged or groggy. I sleep soundly and wake up rested. Never had any lingering feelings of sleepiness. One thing that may be a side effect are weird dreams. Lots of them. Not bad ones, just strange. Doesn't keep me from taking one if I need it, though.

Respironics Rechargeable Li Ion Battery for EverGo

We purchased one of these batteries in June 2010 to replace a reduced capability (it was lasting about half as long as when new) original battery that came with the EverGo about two years before that. We purchased another new one of these batteries in late January 2011.

In December 2010, the first new battery failed it would no longer charge. Note that they bear the Resperonics mfr logo and manufacturing information of "Resperonics Deutschland..., 6600mAh,Ref 900-102". They look and feel like the real thing.

In January 2011 I started trying to get it returned as I understood they sold with a 1 year warranty when I purchased from Amazon.

Resperonics said they only had a 30 day warranty on their batteries. But the seller, Medical Dept. Store, should support the product for a year. Medical Dept. Store said that since I purchased through Amazon, I have a one year warranty and provided me with an RMA number to get it repaired/replaced. I sent it back with this RMA number in late January and more than 30 days later, on February 26th, I have yet to hear from them and yet to receive the replacement battery for the one I sent them; Four weeks now and counting.

Since my father needs the full capability of his EverGo, we purchased a second battery on January 28th 2011 to have him with a full functioning POC. I am pretty sure that when I purchased it the site showed a one year warranty. The brand new battery went into service on February 4th and it failed today, February 26th, after about 40 hours of actual use of the POC with the battery. I logged on to return it today and discovered that Amazon will not return or exchange the sellers products. The seller, Medical Department Store now says they have a TEN DAY warranty and that after that I have to go through the manufacturer.

From my experience with the manufacturer in January, Resperonics will tell you that "...they cannot provide any service except through the seller as they are not licensed to do that in the United States..."

Bottom line is that Resperonics appears to be selling defective equipment and is not supporting it properly. I guess I have yet to find out how this will finally turn out.

These are roughly $230 batteries and now they won't even stand behind them for more than 30 days from the mfr and ten days from the seller. Wow. Their confidence in their own product speaks volumes.

By the way, our Resperonics Evergo POC has been back to the shop twice for repairs with light use in the almost three years it has now been owned. Yes, we got it fixed under the two year warranty twice, but with little use that is a terrible quality record and what will they gouge us for next time, when it is out of warranty?

Resperonics disappoints with a record of two out of two replacement $230 batteries having total product failure in five months first new battery) and 22 days (2nd new battery) in service, respectfully.

I hope a third party battery manufacturer like Tenergy can come out with a good aftermarket product for these POC's! In the meantime, good luck.

I received this unit very quickly, and used it on four flights and a seven days cruise, I used this item in rotation with the original equipment batteries. [ASIN:B0016L4JC2 Respironics Rechargeable Li Ion Battery for EverGo Portable Oxygen Concentrator] It failed to charge after 6 weeks of use pn 900-102 lot# 1050B sn # A54003. Refund is being applied for. Supplier was Medical Department Stores. Unit was marked "Shelf life expires June 2011 battery charge"!!!I contacted the supplier and returned the defective unit to them for return to manufacturer for replacement, I received the replacement, sn 06837 lot# 0929b failed to charge after only 10 days of use. I returned it also but have not yet received a replacement. I ordered and promptly received another one from "SIMPLE" That unit is working well. Two of two provided by Medicial Dept Stores have failed failed within 6 weeks. Those from other suppliers are still working.

I have an Respironics EverFlo stationary concentrator ($550) and a Respironics EverGo portable concentrator ($3500).

The EverFlo failed at 9 months, but was replaced under warranty.

The EverGo power cord failed after 13 months and was not covered under warranty. I had to replace it for $165.

I bought four batteries with the EverGo. Two of them have failed completely. They each have approximately 400 hours on them. As you can see, to replace them would cost me approximately $450.

When I bought the EverGo I bought an offboard charger ($325) for the batteries. It failed after approximately 1 year. The warranty on it was 90 days, but I managed to take it apart and fix it myself with some solder, and it seems to be working again.

I bought my own equipment because I believed that it would be cheaper for me in the long run than paying my insurance company's copayment. I was so, so wrong.

The Li-ion batteries that power the Repironics EverGo oxygen concentrator are subject to repeated failure after minimal usage,i.e., they may discharge and can not be recharged while installed in the concentrator an EverGo Smart Battery Charger/Recalibrator (another $200) may be required to recharge the battery. This situation makes the system less portable, more expensive and more cumbersome than its competitors if a recalibrator is needed. Respironics has known about this problem for years and apparently is unwilling or unable to fix it. I would not recommend the purchase of an EverGo concentrator for this reason.

I have a respironics everGo concentrator. I have a great deal of independance with this machine. I can go about 8 hours with the two batteries that it came with. I have found that I still run out of power at special events and it is inconvenient to use the chargers that I have. With this new battery, I now have another approx. 4 hours. This is more than enough to have a GREAT DAY where ever I happen to be. Thanks for the awesome service in supplying this to me.

This is the best, least expensive day lotion on the market not greasy, an excellent moisturizer under makeup BUT, I've had a running dialog (via phone) with L'Oréal about the design of the pump dispenser. Sometimes the product dispenses easily; sometimes it dispenses in tiny drops; sometimes it doesn't dispense at all, but oozes out of the back of the red dispenser top. IF L'Oréal redesigns the dispenser pump, this is the best product, at the best value, available at ANY price far better than Olay's more expensive Pro-X products. What's the point of having a good product if you can't get it out of the container? I'll write a more positive review if/when L'Oréal improves the design of the dispenser.

I love this product. It goes on so smooth and feels great. Works perfectly under make-up. I am so glad I tried it and won't use anything else.

I would LOVE to be able to try this product....however, I too am having problems with the dispenser. Received my lotion, took the new bottle out of its packaging, pumped the dispenser top, but not a drop of product dispensed! It's one thing to have a product quit working half way through the bottle (and that's not good either), but mine didn't work from the get-go! I really hate it because I truly like L'Oreal products and have been excited about trying this new face lotion, but I won't be re-purchasing. Now I'm concerned that even if I get a bottle that dispenses, it will quit working half way through the product. And, let's face it, how many of us actually take the time to return a half empty bottle? What a waste of $$! I will be returning this one and opting for something else.

4 years ago I had a dental guard custom made at the dentist's office. I was not surprised to learn that my bruxism treatment wasn't covered by my insurance. I wasn't happy, but I paid the 400 bucks for it. I was scratching all my teeth up and something had to be done. Unfortunately, you have to wear those devices regularly. If you don't, you will find it fits your teeth less and less. The doctor helped re-adjust it come, but I still found it to be a bit too tight. I also disliked how extremely hard the plastic was. There was zero shock absorption. It protected my teeth, but it often made my jaw muscles hurt more.

Although nothing will fit like one made at your dentist, I was surprised by how well this fit. It does not slip and I can close my mouth comfortably. The key is to follow the directions EXACTLY. It's critical that when you insert it into your mouth to mold it that you do it right. Do not start to bite down until you have lined it up with your front teeth properly. Time it all, use a mirror like instructed, and make sure you do the suction part quickly and long enough. It says you can try multiple attempts, but just by looking at how much I've indented it, I'm pretty confident that only subtle changes could be made. It's a little bit soft, which is WONDERFUL, since I now cringe at the thought of super hard plastic.

I do have a very small mouth. I can't even use those teeth whitener devices because they make me gag. So I'm completely blown away by this. Considering the price, I do not think I'll ever need my dentist to make me one again. I do not know how different this is from the other "The Doctor's", but I did read those complaints. All I know is this one beat my expectations. It doesn't slip, it's not too tight, and it's just comfortable. Sure, it feels better to wear nothing than it does to wear any night guard, but this is dang close to perfect. And if I lose THIS one I'm not going to freak out. Well worth the 20 bucks!

Edit: Keep in mind I've worn a night guard before, so I'm completely used to it. There is nothing that will sit in your mouth all night that you won't notice, at least at first. Many folks water at the mouth for the first night or two, but that will stop as your brain adjusts to it. The important thing is that it stays comfortable, then after awhile you forget you are wearing it.

I've tried Dentek's Custom Comfort, and Sleep Right's Slim Comfort Adjustable Night Guard. Both worked okay except they're too bulky, and my mouth would not remain closed after I fell asleep. Well, if you've ever slept with your mouth open for whatever reason you know how dry and nasty your mouth will eventually feel sleeping this way -and the sensation will probably wake you in the middle of the night. In fact, after a few days of this, the soft tissues in your mouth will start to feel like leather -not good.

This product is made so no material sits between the teeth at the front of your mouth and your inner lips. That allows your lips to come together and maintain your mouth's microclimate moist and warm while your teeth are cradled in soft cushy plastic that hampers their nightly shenanigans.

You will do well to read and follow the fitting instructions to the t. I had to re-fit mine several times. However the plastic never lost its ability to be reshaped and then retain its new shape. The advice of one reviewer who suggests not biting down all the way when fitting the mouth guard in order to have it last longer does make sense since this will allow for a thicker and hence stronger plastic layer between the teeth. However this will also make it harder for your lips to come together -a definite concern for people with small mouths. The nice thing is you can experiment since you can always reshape it later.

I've worn a nightguard for bruxism for many years. The one I got from my dentist cost several hundred dollars, was hard and inflexible and I always hated it. 9 nights out of ten I would find it on my bedside table in the morning with no memory of removing it. It finally broke. With no dental insurance I gave this a try and was pleasantly surprised. It's far more comfortable than what I got from the dentist. I can even close my mouth when it's in place which I couldn't do with the so-called professional one.

I have not been removing it in my sleep and that is the best part of all.

The only reason I didn't give this five stars is that it is a little tricky to mold and it is clear from the little while that I have had it that it is not going to last long. It is soft and comfortable but also getting quickly chewed and damaged. But at the low cost I'll definitely continue using this product rather than pay a dentist for another "professional grade" hockey puck.

I have severe bruxism and the pain wakes me up at night. I've lost two teeth as a result of the grinding and clenching. My dentist told me it would be $500 for him to fit me with a custom night guard, so he suggested I go to Dick's Sporting Goods to buy an athletic mouth guard. I bought two different ones, including the kind you boil for a custom fit, and they were horrible. Way too big and bulky, and when I tried to sleep, saliva would pool behind the guard and leak out of my mouth. Horrible. I threw both away and tried other methods to help my bruxism, including anxiety medication (which did nothing) to supposedly relax me and my jaw.

I was in a pharmacy yesterday and happened to see this Doctor's advanced comfort night guard. It was $25 (much cheaper here!) and I decided it was the last thing I would try before paying the dentist $500.

One commenter wrote a one-star review saying this is hard plastic and uncomfortable. I'm guessing he/she didn't read the directions. You have to boil this and fit it to your mouth exactly according to the directions (same as you do for most of the athletic mouth guards). I was SHOCKED at the perfect fit I got. It "locks" to my top teeth just as the directions say. Last night I had the BEST sleep I've had in at least a year. Woke up without jaw/tooth/gum pain and without a headache. Amazing! I am going to buy another one for when I wear this one out (I'm wearing it in the day, too, because I have day and night bruxism). I am so happy with this product. I highly doubted it would work or fit right, especially following my experience with the athletic mouth guards. I am thrilled!

here are some good tips that i hope will help some of you out there. the advanced version seems to be less bulky than the classic version, which is a good thing.

try and mold the guard to your bottom teeth so that it doesn't fall out all the time.

if you bite down less into the guard during the molding process, then you'll have a guard that may last twice as long!

this is my 2nd guard, so hopefully my tips will help it last a little longer this time.

Since I hard back surgery I have had a hard time falling asleep and staying asleep. I was using a sleep aid with acetaminophen in it as does one of my pain medications. This is the only sleep aid I found that works. I tend to stray from any drug from big pharma, as I had suffered violent side effects from Ambien. As I understand, melatonin instructs your cells to be less sensitive to your own bodies insulin production, hence when I've taken melatonin by itself, I always woke up in the middle of the night with immensly high blood sugars. Yet, this product only contains 3 mg of melatonin, and if my blood glucose is high, I never know because I don't wake up!

But I found if I rely on this medication every single night, then I feel tremendously fatigued the next day, so I usually take it every other night. But it works like a charm. I will keep purchasing it.

Natural Factors Serenity Formula with Sensoril

I purchased SENSORIL when I was having some issues with panic/anxiety a few years back-since it's supposed to promote relaxation. Well it does; it knocked me out! I slept all night and most of the next day. But I should also say, Benadril affects me the same way.

So for me this was too strong. But I gave it to my father, who does not have anxiety, but who does have trouble sleeping, and he said it helped him feel more relaxed and to sleep better.

Since he has real sleep difficulties, is eighty-one, and has other health problems, he now uses this product plus another Natural Factors Stress/Relax product, TRANQUIL SLEEP to help him sleep. Tranquil sleep has actual Melatonin.

So this product does seem to work for anxiety, but it's going to depend on what you are using it for,and it's going to depend on how strongly things affect you, and if you are using other medications. My Dad can take pain pills for his health problems that would send me to the ER. I am super sensitive to all medications and can expect stronger effects from anything I take.

So far I have only tried a few of this Stress/Relax line of products from Natural factors

SUNTHEANINE (the mildest and the one that worked for me when I was feeling panicky a few years back)I think this one just takes the edge off anxious or nervous feelings--might also work to calm you down if you have to do something stressful on a one time basis.

SENSORIL (too strong for me, but might work for some who need something stronger. I would not take this during the day without testing it first.

My father uses TRANQUIL SLEEP and it helps him, but I had a less than ideal reaction to what I can only assume was the 5_HTP or the Melatonin since the suntheanine didn't bother me (see above)--but with this I was agitated and had too many rushing thoughts and images in my mind while trying to fall asleep. There seems to be a whole suite of these products and they seem to share some ingredients.

TRANQUIL SLEEP Ingredients

Calories: 15gm, Carbohydrates: 4gm, SUNTHEANINE L-THEANINE: 200mg, 5-HYDROXYTRYPTOPHAN (5-HTP): 30mg, Melatonin: 3mg

SUNTHEANINE Ingredients

SENSORIL:

Sensoril Ashwagandha 250mg

My recommendation is that if you want stress relief start with SUNTHEANINE, and then if that's not enough have a look at their GABA product (have not tried) then SENSORIL. .

If you want to sleep better, try SENSORIL first and then the TRANQUIL SLEEP

They also have straight Melatonin (the sleep hormone) in 3mg and 5mg.

If you should not take 5-HTP, if you are on other meds, I think you might need to consult your doctor about 5-HTP. Not sure about Melatonin, I think that's safe but you might check on that too. Just because these are supplements does not mean they won't interact with other medications or your own chemistry. If you have a bad reaction, stop using them. And obviously don't use any of these things for the first time when you have to drive, or as they say--operate heavy machinery.
