Olay Definity Intense Hydrating Cream, 1.7 Ounce

Between the Olay Regenerist, Total Effects, and Definity product lines, it took me a long time figure out which Olay product would best meet my skin care needs. I selected the Definity line because it does not contain Retinol but is still suppose to provide "corrective" effects that even skin tone. I've been using the Definity Correcting Protective Lotion and Intense Hydrating Cream for two weeks and I do notice that my skin is smoother. The rough, ruddy patches on my cheeks are beginning to fade. I haven't noticed any difference on a dark age spot near my jaw but I'm hoping that will even out with continued use. Surface skin regenerates every 28 days and Olay recommends 8 weeks of steady use to see the full effects of the product.

I find the product has a light, feminine floral scent which I enjoy. I tend to be sensitive to strong odors, so typically don't wear perfume. Personally, I don't find the scent of the Definity products to be overwhelming. Nowhere on the packaging does the company claim the product is scent-free. If you tend to be sensitive to scented cosmetics, take advantage of the Olay company's free product sample offer on their Web site.

Even though Olay is considered a "drug store brand," I find spending $20-plus on a jar of skin cream expensive. That's why I researched the product and its ingredients and even took advantage of contacting online beauty consultants before making my final decision. Like all things, unless you've got money to burn, it's best to do a little research to see if a product will be right for you before buying.

I have been using this product for the past 4-5 months now. And I must say that Olay has finally done it! Almost all of my facial acne and other marks have disappeared, and age spots also have gone. Leaving my face radiant and shiny skin. My cheeks used to be very red like rosacea, and that is gone too. All in all, it has proved to be THE face care product I have been looking for all my life. My skin is very oily and acne prone. But now it is also showing improvement and the acne marks from a few pimples every month are cleared by it. It is lightweight and lightly fragranced.Well and good for oily skin as well as dry or normal skin. I give it two thumbs up.

Yes, I am very pleased with this moisturizer. It really does deeply, Intensely Hydrate the skin. I am sold on this face cream. It thoroughly moisturizes without oilyness, it's just perfect for summertime too because of this. I also have very dry, sensitive skin, and this cream/moisturizer did not give me a rash as so many others have. I will continue to use this product and others from, "Oil of Olay". Nutricology/ Allergy Research Group Melatonin

I'm going to break this review in to 2 parts, the first about Melatonin and the second about this individual Melatonin product.

Melatonin is a hormone that your body produces naturally that deals with sleep cycles in the body. Studies have shown that it could have other beneficial uses as well such as helping with circadian rhythm disorders, Alzheimer's, headaches (most likely at smaller doses), mood disorders, cancer, and many others. So Melatonin is a 5/5 star hormone, even if you remove the potential health benefits, it's the safest and best sleep product on the market today, period.

How is this individual Melatonin product then? Amazing. I'm a vegetarian so it's great that I don't have to choose between restful sleep and my personal moral choices. I also like the fact that these pills are small, I hate swallowing pills but these are so tiny that it's no problem. The dose is high (20mg) so that I may reap the potential health benefits if they truly do exist and while I'll never take more pills than is recommended it's a great thought that it's impossible to overdose on Melatonin, with reports of some doing up to 6 grams (6000Mg). That being said, if all you really want is the sleeping portion of melatonin a smaller dose will be just as affective, since your body only produces 0.1Mg of it per day you will be fine with taking the 3Mg pill variety.

Having had metastatic melanoma twice over the last 10 years, I should be dead as it usually is a death sentence. By the grace of God I am still here. In some studies melatonin has shown to shrink melanoma. I have been taking this product for several months prior to bed time (2 capsules) in the hope it truly will provide some assistance to my immune system. Time will tell.

this product worked really well. I needed to get to sleep to wake up for an 8 am class..and thats almost impossible in a college dorm. I couldnt fall asleep for like 2 hours and it was already 1:30. However, after about a week of continued use, I started to have swelling of my left foot and ankle. I had flown back east and attributed this to the heat, humidity and flying. Once I returned home, the swelling continued to the point where the condition would not go away, became very uncomfortable, for in addition to the swelling, my foot and ankle were very hot. I used ice packs and elevated my leg, but the relief was only very brief, with the edema returning.

Then 5 days ago, my right foot and leg, as well as my hands and arms began to show signs of swelling. At that point, I tried to look back at the previous month and determine if I had done anything different from before that time. At that point it occurred to me that nightly intake of Midnite might be the culprit. In researching online some of the symptoms of the ingredients, I saw that a possible side effect of melatonin was impaired blood flow. At that point, I quit taking the supplements. Now, four days later, my arms, hands, right let and ankle have returned to normal. The swelling in my left foot and ankle has greatly subsided, but at the rate it is going, I anticipate several more days for my left left and foot to be back to normal.

In doing the online research, I also learned that melatonin can interfere with prescription drugs. I take a diuretic for high blood pressure. Perhaps the melatonin was canceling the benefit of my diuretic and causing restricted blood flow; hence, the edema.

I would recommend that anyyone taking MidNite do their own research or talk to their physician regarding any possible drug interactions with MidNite.

I haven't slept through the night since I entered puberty, so I have quite an arsenal of sleep aid products in my medicine cabinet, including the Benadryl-based ones and plain, old Melatonin. I try not to take any of them every single night, because I know that if I do they'll lose effectiveness. In addition, melatonin over time will supplant the body's natural ability to produce serotonin, so it should definitely not be taken every single night. Benadryl products should also not be taken every night, because they are an antihistamine and vasoconstrictor, and, well, you just shouldn't do that to your body constantly!

Midnite contains melatonin, which is the real active ingredient. It also contains Chamomile, which helps normal people sleep, but I am not normal, so Chamomile does nothing for me except maybe smell nice in its natural state. Midnite also contains Lavender, the fragrance of which is emotionally calming and which I also use to help me sleep, but I had never heard before that it's also supposed to be soporific when ingested I suspect it isn't really, but what the heck, it's harmless and frequently used in candy and pastries as food flavoring.

What I like about it is that it is 1) chewable, so I can keep it beside the bed, which is great (it also tastes pretty good,) and also that it is 2) low enough in dosage that I can take it later in the night when I wake up and not have to worry that I won't be able to get up and function by the time morning rolls around. The other products I use must be taken early enough that they'll wear off by the time the alarm goes off, or I'll be a complete zombie.

The things I don't like about it are: 1) the tablets crumble when I push them through the foil backing on the package, so it's really best to open the little bubbles with nail scissors (not exactly convenient for bedside use!) and 2) I really do still wake up feeling groggy after taking it, and not especially "refreshed" because the sad truth is, there is NO SUCH THING as artificially induced sleep that is as good as real, natural sleep. And there never will be, no matter what medical science keeps trying to promise us.

I knew when I purchased this that it was just a liquid form of Benadryl. That being said, sometimes formulation can make a difference, and I had a $2 coupon, so I figured it was worth a try. I took the recommended dose at bedtime, and a couple hours later, felt absolutely no effect. If diphenhydramine makes you drowsy, this product may work for you, but it's much cheaper to pick up the tablet form, most drugstores carry a generic or store brand with the same amount of active ingredients as Benadryl.

What's really odd is that the ingredient in Nyquil which makes you sleepy, Doxylamine Succinate, and which many people, myself included, find to be very effective, is not the the active ingredient in this medicine. I don't know why they would just go with what was already working for them. I've tried a number of sleep aids, but Doxylamine Succinate was the only one I ever found really effective.

If you like Nyquil or simply Doxylamine Succinate, I recommend the kirkland brand. Very effective.

I have to admit, I did not like it at first. It did not work well the first time I used it. But now that I gave it another chance, I really love it. Bot. Nourishing Night Cream

My skin has gotten drier in my mid-30s and I had to switch products altogether. I discovered the Boots Botanics Night Cream with grapeseed oil earlier this year and loved how it hydrated in the summertime. Being from Chicago, though, my skin gets pretty beat up in the winter.

I'm usually loyal to Neutrogena but no one product was cutting it. I've also started to shift away from using petroleum-based products (like Cetaphil cream); they feel like they sit on my skin without really moisturizing, and I'd prefer something more natural. I love that the first three ingredients of this stuff are water, olive oil, and sweet almond oil. This cream will not sit on your skin like Vaseline it will absorb right in.

How I use this product after washing and toning: in the morning, I use Origins A Perfect World White Tea Skin Guardian, then apply this, then a Neutrogena sunscreen. In the evening, I use RoC Retinol Correxion Sensitive Night Cream (I love retinol products as I get older, though I don't yet have wrinkles), then apply this.

I don't think I could get enough moisture using only one product, but this comes pretty close. It's a really great value for what it does.

I've used a wide range of products, ranging from cheapo Trader Joe's to way-too-expensive Estee Lauder. It's true that you don't always get what you pay for. In comes mid-range, affordable Boots Botanics Nourishing Night Cream.

This night cream works so well, and it's got a great fragrance, sort of like a light floral & cucumber. It's a very light smell, not cloying at all.

I really feel like it's being absorbed into my skin, and it doesn't shine. I was using the Borghese night cream from Costco, and goodness--my face was as shiny as chrome! Embarassing! It was so terribly shiny I downgraded it and used it for hand cream.

I tried this, but didn't like it... felt too greasy. I do, however, like the L'Oreal Paris Advanced RevitaLift Complete Day Cream, 1.7 Ounce (3 Pack), so I went back to using that. This is also too expensive, in my opinion, for me not to be satisfied with the way it feels. I also had a few pimples with it, and I'm over 50, so I feel it clogs the skin. I don't have that kind of product with the aforementioned Day Cream, though; just with this night cream.

Contour Standard Folding Wedge Accessory Cover, White

The package and picture state very clearly "Folding Wedge Fitted Pillow Case", and the description says "Soft velour cover is washable and unzips for easy removal", neither of which are true. This is a cover that slips over the narrow end of the wedge and has a band of elastic around the top. It is NOT a replacement for the zippered cover that comes with the Folding Wedge. It is softer than the case that comes with the wedge which is why I gave it one star.

Most importantly it can't go in the dryer!

This wedge has been really helpful for my husband but, I guess it's time for me to borrow a sewing machine and dig up some old sheets so I can have appropriate cases for it.

It does not fit the pillow at all. It makes the pillow try to fold up. I really intended to send it back. But did not take the time and lost the packaging.

I have been wanting to try this product out for YEARS. My friend from High School used this stuff and her hair was gorgeous, thick, long and shiny. I read that some people said this stuff stinks.. Yes, it kind of does stink but the smell goes away after you wash it out. After reading about how "bad" it stinks I could never find anyone to describe what it smelled like.. Well.. It smells A LOT like the original Pine Sol floor cleaner. It smells a bit funky to be putting in your hair but I would say it is totally worth it. Anyways. To apply, I put a generous amount (2-3 tablespoons) in my hands, using a tablespoon at a time, and worked it through the middle of my hair to the tips and whatever else I had on my hands I would lightly apply to the top of my hair but not getting it on my roots or on my scalp. Then I put my hair up in a towel for an hour. An hour passed and I washed my hair with shampoo and I used conditioner only on the tips and middle of my hair (my hair routine). I dried my hair and it was incredibly soft and looked amazingly shiny. The only bad thing I can say about this product is that it stinks and that it left some of my hair a bit oily on top of my hair but I think it was my mistake for putting it close to my roots. Overall, I really like this product. Also, keep in mind that just because this product made my hair shiny and silky smooth it doesn't always mean that everyone else will get the same results.

3M Foam Ear Plug 1100

I tried something like 20 different kinds of earplugs before settling on these. Why did they win? They work. I'm glad I wasn't fooled by the seemingly low NRR rating of 29dB. I can tell you that in practice, everything seems notably quieter while wearing these than when wearing any of the NRR 31-32dB earplugs I tried. I agree with the other reviewer who said that it seems as though these seal the ear better than the others.

They are not the absolute most comfortable plugs I've tried Hearos Ultimate Softness are the best in that department. These 3M 1100 plugs simply block noise better, though, and are more than sufficiently comfortable even for 8-hour nights. Hearos also cost more than three times as much here on Amazon. Finally, I've found that Hearos can only be used twice before they lose effectiveness; the 3M 1100 plugs can be used at least three and often as many as five times. Still, Hearos are very effective and very comfortable, and are a fine choice if comfort is your #1 priority.

All of the Howard Leight, Peltor, and Moldex plugs that I tried were either too high pressure (painful!) or didn't work as well as these or the Hearos. One good alternative I will recommend are EAR TaperFit2 those are a little bit softer and more comfortable than the 1100s and a little more effective than Hearos, and are reasonably inexpensive, so they're a good compromise.

How technology has changed...these plugs are soft and sticky, so they go in the ear, block most of the noise, but you do not feel any pressure, like older design foams used to feel. I will be buying these from now on.

I used to work in industrial settings, machine shops, and now do a lot of airtravel, so I have fairly extensive experience with earplugs, BTW.

Great for sleeping you probably understand. They're soft and comfortable, and block out everything except my alarm (which is set on high and vibrate). I also wear them when I'm trying to work at home and the lawn is being mowed and dogs are barking etc.

But another great use is wearing them to the movies. Movies are so loud these days that I could not go because of the headaches the sound would give me. I put these earplugs in properly, then pull them out slightly. That cuts down the sound by about half, so it's comfortable and I can hear dialogue perfectly. Added bonus, you don't hear people crunching on popcorn or talking on cellphones. It's made going to the movies a pleasure again.

I am about to buy my second 200-pair box; my current one has lasted about eight years. I use these whenever I need my hearing protected for more than a few minutes, everything from rock concerts to using power tools to mowing the lawn. They stay comfortable for hours, and no matter how high a noise environment I've been in, my ears never ring afterward. My only complaint, and this is probably true for just about all foamies, is that insertion is very temperature-sensitive. If where you store them gets above about 80F, it's hard to get them to stay compressed long enough to get into your ear, and below about 65F, it can take a really long time for them to expand.

I'm actually using 2 Aveeno products together. My skin needs lots of help right now. I finally saved enough money to splurge and decided to see what Aveeno product I could find at Amazon.

I ordered both Ageless Vitality (eye and night time systems) and Positively Ageless at the same time. The Positively Ageless cleanser leaves my skin squeaky clean. I've used it 3 days now and have decided I don't want to use it on my eyelids or lips any more. I read the instructions and they say it can be used to remove makeup, but I have a different cleanser I'm going to continue to use to remove my mascara with. Then I wash my face with the Positively Ageless cleanser.

I can already see a huge improvement in my skin. My pores are smaller and the wrinkles under my eyes that have been driving me crazy are greatly reduced already.

First, we bought the dual speed machine. After some trial and error, we only use it on the higher setting. The higher speed is louder/ and masks more noise. When we decided to buy a second one, I took a chance hoping that the single speed machine would be the same as the high speed setting on the dual speed machine. It is! Just wanted to put that out there for anyone else wondering the same thing.

I researched many white noise machines and read many reviews before deciding on the Marpac 580. The 580 is less expensive than the 980 with no speed adjustment, but it performs quite adequately, and truthfully the speed control is unnecessary. The Marpac machines operate mechanically rather than electronically, which in my opinion is a more reliable way to go. Also these machines don't experience sound or volume problems like other brands. The adjustable volume and tone can accomodate a very large room. The average bedroom requires much less than its maximum volume is capable of. The 580 is simple, basic, and sturdy. It performs well not only for children but adults too, drowning out typical city background noises. We like it so much, we have purchased two...and now my mother wants one. Unfortunately, my lovely bride, Mrs. Gorilla, is at times prone to snoring, gurgling, and other odd sounds in the night whilst in slumber. In years past, this would generally occur while she was laying on her back, and a gentle prod to her thigh would be enough to get her to roll to her side and quiet the veritable symphony of sounds. Lately, the noise has been occurring regardless of her position in bed, leaving me with two options to lay awake until the racket subsides or move to another location. Neither seemed desirable.

At this point, I began to research the situation and came across this gizmo: the Marpac 580 Sound Screen and SleepMate Sound Conditioner. Try saying THAT three times fast. It's just a fancy name for a small fan inside a plastic housing. The reviews seemed mostly positive and the price seemed right, so I was convinced to order one with all due speed.

I am happy to report that it has solved all issues and restored marital bliss. It has a "low" and a "high" setting on the switch but these seem rather pointless. The real options for increasing or decreasing the noise it makes come from rotating the disk on top of the device as well as rotating the exterior plastic housing that constitutes the "sides" of the thing basically the larger the holes on the side and the more holes you "open" on top the louder it gets. I have mine set at full throttle, and to my ear it is QUITE loud, more than enough to mask any sounds coming from Mrs. Gorilla on the other side of the bed. It does not completely drown out all noise, but as I explain below, it masks it in a way that, at least for me, solves the problem.

I have it sitting atop the high dresser located about six feet or so from my side of the bed, versus on the night stand right beside me, and even from that distance it really is enough to mask any noise I might otherwise hear. I struggle to choose the right verb here: it "masks" or "blends" the noises I may or may not hear it does not always "obliterate" them. Thus, I have woken up a couple of times while Mrs. Gorilla was snoring, realized I could still hear her, but found that I could focus on the steady whooshing sound of the device rather than her intermittent sawing of wood, and fall back to sleep. Apparently, for me anyway, such noises only become distressing when contrasted with absolute silence. When blended with a background white noise like this device makes, the sound of snoring is not a problem in the least. And for most of the other nighttime noises that might occur those ARE genuinely covered up. This includes any odd noises the dog might make in the night, the sound of my teenage son galumphing up the stairs at midnight when I'm already in bed, and so on and I definitely have been sleeping more soundly and comfortably.

I'll leave it to a psychologist or an MD to explain why I no longer find the snoring noise so distressing when blended with a white noise generator and thus conclude with a hearty recommendation: five stars, and four enthusiastic thumbs up (counting the two on my feet...)

I had to return it. I really was looking forward this, however it is way too loud for me. I usually like noise when I sleep, so I was looking for something to provide that and block out some snoring. However, it was hard for me to fall asleep because it sounded like someone had the suction end of a vacuum up to my ear (and I even followed the directions and did not have it on my nightstand like most people do).

So the product works as it is probably supposed to, but this one only operates on the HIGH level, where the next model up works on two speeds, high and low. I guess that would be something to consider if you are buying one.
