It does keep you from breaking any teeth, I'll give it that. And their website already warns of the discomfort for your cheeks. My problem was that I bit through mine so fast. The company was great about exchanging it for a firmer bite, and that one is working okay for me.

In no way could it replace a real dental guard from the dentist's office, though. My bite is off the next morning after using this, but it will function just fine until I save up for the real thing.

I have mild insomnia and been taking a variety of sleep meds to help me out. I started off taking Ambien for a few years, but only when I really couldn't sleep. I would generally fall asleep pretty quick on Ambien, but still wake up in the middle of the night. It was getting frustrating that I couldn't get quality sleep, so my doctor switched me to Lunesta.

After a bit of searching, I finally found a natural sleep aid with a better mix of ingredients. Not only was melatonin 1mg (which I feel is the perfect amount), the capsules are also grouped with a few other well known relaxants. I spent quite a bit of time researching into these, and this is what I found:

Melatonin natural chemical produced in our brains that helps signal to sleep.

Valerian plant extract used mainly in Asia for insomnia related issues.

Chamomile another herbal extract from flowers that relaxes the central nervous system.

Passion Flower herb maily used for anxiety and over anxious minds.

Lemon Balm another herb used in Europe to combat stress.

Ashwagandha herb of India known to again fight stress and anxiety.

Hops mild sedative and calming properties.

GABA an amino acid to regulate sleep quality and improve your mood.

L-Theanine another amino acid shown to reduce mental and physical stress.

5-HTP simliar to Tryptophan (post-Thanksgiving turkey type sleep).

I don't know of another sleep aid as well rounded as this one. One of these ingredients are bound to work for you.

In most situations when I need to get sleep, one pill about an hour before bed is all I need to fall asleep fast. Occasionally I will open up a capsule and make hot tea out of it that I can sip on. I'm not sure if it reduces the effectiveness, but it's been good so far.

In addition to this sleep aid, I want to mention there were few environment changes I also made to improve my sleep quality:

1) No caffeine or alcoholic drinks a couple hours before bed. Night caps can cause you to wake up in the middle of the night.

2) No TV, cell phone, or other electronics before bed. I actually took all these items out of my room so I can completely relax.

3) Read any books that do not require a lot of thinking.

4) Room is completely dark with just a fan running to block out other noises. Fan also helps to keep the room at a good temperature.

5) Warm shower before bed to help me relax.

By nature I am an 'owl' and I tend to work late in the evenings. Unfortunately, these late-night work sessions have been affecting my sleep to the extent that the last few years I have been having difficulty falling asleep. It also affected my quality of sleep so that I would always feel blah in the morning. And if I wake up in the middle of the night, forget about falling back asleep, not happening. I tried some sleeping pills OTC meds just make me feel groggy; the prescription ones are not that much better.

I've been going through different sleep aids with these goals in mind:

1. I need to be able to fall asleep faster.

2. It has to be a natural sleep aid after a few runs with prescriptions, I am pretty wary of the side effects.

3. To improve my quality of sleep no waking up throughout.

4. Little to no grogginess in the morning.

This is what I've tied so far 'Happy Dreams' Sleep Formula, 'Sleep Right', Nighttime Sleep Aid, Chinese Herbs for Better Sleep, different mixtures of melatonin and a few more I don't recall off the top of my head. I even own an expensive Zeo Personal Sleep Coach. It does what it's suppose to do, I guess, but that was less than helpful for my purposes.

One thing I found that worked like a charm was phenebut but you have to cycle it you can take it only 4 days out of the week and then wait for 3 days otherwise it loses effectiveness.

This is my report on Insomnia Natural SLEEP Aid up to date:

I started feeling the effects in about 35 to 40 minutes after I took it on an empty stomach. It didn't make me drowsy. Instead, I noticed a little slowdown, it was like my thoughts were calming down slightly. I switched off the light and it took me perhaps 10 to 15 minutes to drift off. I managed to sleep through the night without waking up. Got almost 8 hours of sleep out of one pill. Next few nights were similar. I average at about 7.5 hours of sleep a night right now.

Looks like it's not about the quantity of ingredients, it's about the mixing up the right components for optimal result. I checked the supplement facts and among the usual suspects like valerian, gaba, chamomile extract and melatonine I've noticed a few new ones (at least to me), such as Hops extract and Ashwagandha. Perhaps this accounts for better results.

So, here's hoping that the good result would last. Maybe I'll cycle this with phenebut to make sure I don't get used to this particular mixture. If anything changes, I'll post an update.

One last thought to share with my fellow insomniac friends in this thread: Sleeping better is something that many people desperately need but we also need a more holistic approach to our problem, and don't just rely on prescriptions. Other reviewers already emphasized helpful environmental changes you can make to help you sleep better. In addition to a good, natural sleep aid, I would also advise practicing some sort of relaxation technique on a daily basis. Meditation, progressive relaxation or Autogenic training. All of these are easy to learn and take only a few minutes a day to practice. If you know how to relax your body and calm your mind the quality of your sleep will improve even more.

I've been struggling with sleep issues my whole life, since grade school. I was never able to wake up and make it on time to class in the morning. As I got older, it didn't get any better. I don't have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, but I sleep on my side and find that my wrist tend to support my face in an extreme angle. It makes it very uncomfortable and at times painful when waking up. Like the previous reviewer, I live in NYC and face constant challenges to a restful night. I wanted to buy the original version of the Ecotones sound machine last year after reading about it, but I was put off by the $300 price tag, and wanted to read more reviews before I decided to invest. This year I looked it up again and was thrilled to find this much cheaper version, which has also addressed criticism of the original version (on lighting of the display, ability to manipulate the buttons by touch, etc.). Those of us buying the newer model can thank the "early adopters," I think, as well as the responsiveness of Ecotones. The machine is very easy to turn on and off and adjust even with the display lighting switched off.

The first night I used the machine, it effectively masked the sound, but I wasn't used to it and didn't sleep very well. However, with each use I have found it more conducive to restful sleep, as well as extremely effective in masking unwelcome noise. I like all of the "SoundStories" except the "white noise," which just sounds like static. I don't find the "campfire" very restful, either, but that's because living in an old row house makes one rather wary of the sound of flames! I have found that, as the instructions say, a lower "richness" level is more calming for sleeping.

I opted for this model because it came with pillow speakers at the same cost as the model without them. I now see that the model without pillow speakers is being offered at a lower price. In my opinion, the pillow speakers are not very effective, and it makes sense to pay less and do without them. I like to use earphones with mine, which allows the SoundStories to even more completely mask the external ruckus. My little girl loves listening to the machine through its normal speakers.

In short, my recommendations:

1) Stick with the machine for a few tries and get used to it.

2) Enhance its effectiveness by using earphones.

3) Don't be put off by Ecotones' relatively higher price compared with other brands. Based on the consumer reviews I've read of the other types, it's worth paying more for something that's effective and pleasant to use.

I have tried a couple of these machines in the last year. Most were pretty poor quality, with poor reproduction and a clear breakpoint where the recording recycles. Not so the Duet. It has long recordings with seamless overlap. I like the Ocean best for sleeping, and the Meditation setting actually helps concentration. Top quality, I recommend it.

We just moved into a new apartment in NYC and were quite dismayed by the noisy upstairs neighbors and the occasional street nuts keeping us awake at night. The sounds we were dealing with were: stomping feet, thumping base from a stereo, late night TV, children playing in the hallway, the occasional car alarm, etc. Ahhh, New York City!

After a bit of research (price vs. quality) we decided to take a chance on the Ecotones Duet. The first night we set it for "Brook" with complete sound stories and lo and behold, not only did it mask all the annoying sounds, but within 30 minutes, we were both fast asleep. The timer was set for 90 minutes...and while we did not hear it fade...it was definitely off when we woke. At last!!! We can sleep again!

The "Adaptive Sound Technology" is great. Except if you start chatting in bed. It gets louder to cover up your speech.

We tried a few of the different settings to see which one masked the sounds better and found that for us that "Brook" was the thing. My wife really didn't like "Ocean". And the crickets in the "Meadow" were a bit overwhelming for our purposes. (And we found "other pleasures" from the fireplace sound. Light a candle, for a little more atmosphere, guys, and off you go.)

But truly, this machine can deal with a large variety of different sound issues. It gives you a lovely sounds cape to listen to, with random sounds breaking the monotony of a simple repetitive sound. Occasionally one can imagine little pieces of wood sloshing past, or a bird or squirrel rustling near the water's edge...next thing you know...it's morning and you've had another blissful night of sleep.

I definitely like the sound from this machine I thought I would use white noise because I am used to keeping a bathroom vent fan on, but I like the waterfall sound. I use it to drown out my husband's snoring. It has worked pretty well, not perfect. He still wakes me up sometimes :) I also can't get the automatic sound adjustment feature to work. I tried to test it by making noise and nothing happened. So I just set it for the night and as I was trying to fall asleep, it kept getting quieter when there was no noise in the room? So I turn that off and just leave it on a steady volume. It stinks because I paid the high price for this feature, but since I like the noise, I am keeping it anyway. Would recommend, but it is expensive.

I have always had issues with puffy bags under my eyes when I haven't had enough sleep or have consumed too much sodium. Most of the time, I have had success with the usual remedies cold water/ice cubes, eye massage, tea bags, and cucumbers. But they're all a time-consuming and sometimes messy PITA to do. Cosmos ® Black Remedy Heat Sensitive Memory Foam Sleep Mask + Cosmos Cable Tie

I really wanted to like this. No light gets through this mask and it fits very nicely to the shape of my face if I'm laying on my back. The velour fabric also feels very nice. The problem is that this mask is very thick and the memory foam is not very pliable. If you lay on your side, the mask seems to have very little give. I also found the mask to retain a lot of heat and made my whole head hot.

This thing is big and black and soft. It does a good job of keeping the light out, but it is pretty big, so anything other than laying on your back can be uncomfortable. I was expecting a more gel like feel around the eyes. Instead it is just the same material as the rest of the mask. I don't know what the "heat sensitive" memory foam is referring to. It all just seems like regular material to me. It works well enough for the price, and I like it better than the thin mask I bought from Walgreens a few years ago. Did I mention it was big?

I've tried many different sleep masks over the past few years, but most fail to last more than six months. Either the material begins to wear, or the elastic headband stretches so much as to be useless.

This is different. The Cosmos mask is a thick, padded mask with a nose bridge and velcro strap. The memory foam fits the contours of your face, with the nose bridge keeping it from sliding down your nose. The velcro has been very tough, and I don't see myself needing to replace it for quite some time. Further, this mask fits perfectly with my nasal pillow CPAP mask, which means I can finally get a decent night's sleep without my apnea waking me up every few hours. However, this obviously would not work with the full "cup" style masks which fit over top of your nose, or nose and mouth; the nose bridge would not sit right on those.

For me, this is the perfect mask for a great night's sleep.

I have had a GHD for several years, and I dropped it on ceramic tile. It was only appropriate that I bought a new GHD. This flat iron is perfect. Great for curls or pin-straight hair. A friend recommended this as a treatment for anxiety.

I've taken this several times on days I expected to be anxious, and it had no effect that I could tell. I also tried it for sleeping and it had no obvious effect.

I heard about Skullcap through a radio host named Giuliani on "Truth Hertz" on Oracle Broadcasting. He doesn't like sleep because he thinks it's a waste of time, but when he needs sleep, he has trouble sleeping. He said he's tried "everything" but nothing works -except his latest discovery, Skullcap. He said it put him right to sleep and he stayed asleep. The fact that Skullcap might not only put one to sleep but keep one asleep was the very thing I needed. I've tried Melatonin in 3, 5 and even 10 mg, and I still wake up in the middle of the night for no reason.

I've now spent five nights using Skullcap and have to report that I don't go to sleep right away after taking three capsules and some nights I sleep straight through, but some nights I still wake up -for no reason.

So, I don't think Skullcap is any better than Melatonin for a good night's sleep. Skullcap may have anti-inflammatory properties and liver-cleansing properties. That's all wonderful, but I just wanted something that could put me to sleep, let me stay asleep and wake up without a sense of stupor or hangover. Skullcap is no better than Melatonin, I'm sorry to say.

I was looking for a way to elevate the head of my mattress for breathing issues as I sleep. The only options available seemed to be a foam or memory foam cushion wedge. Used this on a recent hotel stay. Bed bugs are a big problem right now and I knew I probably wouldnt get much sleep thinking about them. Ugh!

However with the tent I slept great. It was cozy for me, secure, plus the mesh is transparent so you could lay in bed and watch tv with it sealed.

My daughter's ex-boyfriend bought a used quilt at a yard sale and, as a result, carried bedbugs to her condo. She has done everything else possible (except using insecticides, which she cannot tolerate; besides, DDT, now banned, was the only really effective one): bought a mattress cover AND a new bed, washed everything washable 30+ times, put diatomaceous earth traps under the bed legs, vacuumed and steamed (with an industrial-strength steamer) everywhere, and is looking forward to a hot summer where she hopes to raise the temperature in her place (with the help of a heater) to 120 degrees for at least 4 hours, which will kill the vermin. In short, this problem really can drive one crazy (not only my daughter but also ME), and the tent has saved our sanity.

I love these wipes! They aren't too thick and the odor is nice and gently. Some of the other wipes had a strong odor, but this wipe is great. I also love that it came with another container! Sadly I have to give this a bad review. To save money I have bought generic brands of baby wipe since my son was young and really had no problem with them. Here recently I was able to get these wipes while still being able to save money. I thought what a great deal, name brand wipes at a good price, perfect... I was wrong. When I got these I noticed yes they are supper dooper soft and quite a bit stretchy, both seemingly like good things when it comes to wipes, well that is incorrect. Being soft is nice for my babies tush yes however I have to push quite a bit harder to get off all those stuck on bits that we know all of our children end up with. They aren't as wet as the others either and both of these things make then actually more irritating to the baby in the long run. The other thing is they are supper stretchy which maybe sound like a good thing as well. Wrong again. This makes it harder to get all that "stuff" off his bottom because when I go to fold the wipe over and reuse it, it isn't as durable, it tends to want to stretch itself thin, and you then have a mess on your hands..literally! Basically I was just disappointed that they would be such a pain to work with. I guess in the long run maybe its a good thing though that the cheaper ones work better.. cause they are cheaper.

Wake Up On Time 40 Count

We purchased this product after desperately trying to find a solution for my son's difficulty in awakening. My son would not wake up to even the loudest alarm clock. For the last two years we tried to get help for this through doctors and psychologists who simply offered the traditional approach of 8 hours of sleep, no exciting activities one hour before bed, darken the room, etc.., but none of it helped. My son going away to college precipitated a crisis in that if he was not able to wake up, he would eventually lose his job and that would make college unaffordable.

My son is finishing his first bottle of Wake up on Time and the turnaround is incredible. He only takes one pill (manufacturer recommends two) 8 hours before he is scheduled to wake up and he hasn't missed the alarm yet. This is one leg of a three legged stool along with getting consistent sleep (at least 7 hours) and using the loudest, most incredible alarm clock (The Sonic Boom) which we also got from Amazon.

We found these solutions by searching Online (no help from the experts here) and reading some of the reviews. We are thankful for the help and hope this review helps other people down the road, deal with a little understood sleep problem for which there is almost no formal help.

So pleased with this product, but I believe if you take caffeine regularly you may not feel the effects as much as desired. I don't drink much caffeine so am awakened by this product around 6 or 7 am. It makes me energetic as soon as I open my eyes and I can start my day without the jetlag-type feeling I always have because I have lived with Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome (basically my internal clock wants to sleep from 4am to noon no matter what). This product helps me actually function in life and I'm so glad I found it. Start with just one tablet.

I am someone that has a difficult time getting up in the morning, no matter how many hours of sleep I get. For me, this product has really helped. Be careful when you first start out taking it, I would recommend only 1 pill and try it on the weekend. I awoke after only 5 hours of sleep on an energy kick (which would have been great if it wasn't at 3 in the morning!) Once my body got used to it, I started waking up energized around hour 7. I don't take it all the time, just on days I know I need to hit the ground running. It has helped but I don't want to develop a tolerance. I will be buying this again.

This is a fantastic product. It actually works. I just hope that they don't change the formula after a while like many do.

When I first got this product I read the directions wrong and instead of taking two tablets I took oneright before I went to bed. As promised I got up totally alert 7 hours laterdidn't even need the alarm clock. I used only one tablet a couple of times when I needed it and both times they worked. Then one day I went to take the bottle and I read that I was actually supposed to take two tablets... oops. so I did. That was a mistake. What happened was that I woke up only 4 hours sleep later and even though I was still tired I was wide awake and could not go back to sleep! Thought that was just a fluke caused by something other than the pills so I did it again a couple of days later and same exact thing happened4 hours sleep and then bamwide awake and yet exhausted at the same time. I think perhaps it's because I'm a light sleeper in general, but I learned that I'm definitely a one tablet type when it comes to these supplements. I would recommend starting out with half the dosage to see how that works for you first before deciding on trying two. The only time I took two tablets again after that is when I had an early flight which only gave me enough time for just under 4 hours sleepSo I purposely took two of these babies and 3.5 hours later when my alarm rang I was UP UP UP and ready to go to the airport! I don't take these on a regular basis because I'm afraid my body will become accustomed to them and then they'll stop working. So I just take them occasionally when I really, really need to be up at a certain time and I fear I might sleep through the alarm.

I will also add just in case it matters: I'm the type of person who falls asleep 3-10 minutes after my head hits the pillow at night. It's only getting up in the morning that I have a problem with. I'm not too sure these pills are good for people who stay awake in bed for an hour before falling asleep because I think those people will be more likely to REMAIN awake on these pills. With these it's best to take immediately before turning out the light and hitting the sheets. Luckily I have no problem with this.

My entire life, I have been a heavy sleeper. I slept at least 12 hours without waking up if I didn't set an alarm. I can sleep to loud music, noisy traffic, and even construction. I will sleep THROUGH loud music, noisy traffic, and construction. My parents always had to wake me up for school, even in high school, because there was no way I could get up by myself. I wasn't even sleepy. In fact, I was wide awake and ready to start my day! The second night I tried it, I made the mistake of not going to sleep soon enough. I was up for almost 2 hours after that and I realized it gave me a small dose of caffeinated effect. Like it was already preparing me to wake up. I was very aware that they were time release pills but just make sure you try to sleep as soon as possible after taking them.

I definitely recommend them but wouldn't recommend taking them on a daily basis. I'm not a doctor nor a med student but the pills will probably disrupt your sleep cycle. I used it for 4 days straight and realized how jolted I was every morning. I was just too jittery for mornings and not in a good way, and I was not getting enough sleep (I woke up after 4-6 hours wide awake). So I ended up using it occasionally or when I felt like I needed them. However it may have a different effect depending on your body. But it does work. It's great for students who are in the middle of exams or someone who knows that they will need that extra dose of energy the next day.
