Mack's Snore BlockersTM Ear Plugs - 12-pair Box

Mack's Snore BlockersTM Ear Plugs - 12-pair BoxMack's Snore Blockers are great if sleeping with someone who has a light-to-moderate snore, and will reduce up to 32db, much more than the drugstore bought, average, foam-styled ear plugs. Snore Blockers are soft, made with silicone, I believe, and thus, uber-gentle and are auto-pliable in your ears. Truthfully, the Snore Blockers do a good job of keeping noise out, in general. However, if you have someone with heavy, loud snoring, Snore Blockers cannot mask or do much for you. Bottom line is that you'll need to bend a soft pillow around your ears after you put the Snore Blockers in or find other solutions. One thing, though, is that either the Snore Blockers appear to automatically "pop out" during my sleep or is it that I am, during sleep, removing them? Could it be a snore gnome removes them? Just kidding... Final word? Snore Blockers are closer to reducing snoring noise, moreso than the other Mack and other earplugs I've tried thus far.

I am a very light sleeper. A lot of sounds wake me up. Before using these earplugs I'd get up 4+ times a night, mostly due to my husbands bear-like snoring. It took me a while to figure out how to get these in right. If you don't get them in far enough you might as well not wear them at all! I roll them between my fingers to make a very skinny tube and stick it in my ear canal as far as I can comfortably (like really in there where the q-tips go!) and it blocks out a lot of sound. I can still have a conversation if needed, but my husband's snoring is greatly reduced (to the point I can mostly ignore it and fall back asleep) and I get a MUCH better nights sleep! The only real problem I have with these is you only get a few nights of good use out of them. Yes, they are disposable, but after 3 or 4 uses they don't crush down as far and it seems like they don't block as much sound as when they are new.

I use ear plugs while mowing the lawn, riding on airplanes, to endure loud movies in theaters, and so forth. While I also use them while sleeping, I didn't select Snore Blockers with that purpose primarily in mind. To my amazement, however, they did the worst job of any ear plugs I've ever used in attenuating the sound of my wife's occasional, gentle snoring!

After discovering this, I compared them against Hearos Ultimate Softness plugs while seated in a chair across the room from my sleeping wife. The Snore Blockers yielded only a slight reduction in the snoring sound level while the Hearos virtually eliminated it.

Although these two models of ear plugs both claim a NNR of 32 dB, the provided octave band sound attenuation data show the Hearos to be more effective than the Snore Blockers in every octave band and with a smaller Standard Deviation in 7 of 9 octave bands. While it's therefore no wonder that the Hearos are more effective, it is curious that Snore Blockers claim the same NRR rating.

The Snore Blockers seem to do well enough in less critical applications such as lawn mowing, so I've banished them to the garage while the Hearos Ultimate Softness plugs took their place in my nightstand.

I bought these ear plugs because they specifically said they were for blocking snoring. My husband snores very loud. These ear plugs did not block out the snoring and I don't think they are any better than any other ear plugs. I would not buy them again.

Snore Blockers! I was so excited... Unfortunately, these were a GIANT FAIL! Don't waste your money... Get the Ohropax. They are wax and mold to your ear, AND they stay in... They still don't block the sound completely, but enough that I could sleep...

Dr. Teal's Foaming Bath, Soothe & Sleep with Lavender 34 fl oz

Dr. Teal's Foaming Bath, Soothe & Sleep with Lavender 34 fl ozI'm not a big believer in aroma therapy at all. But this bath product really does help you relax. I can't explain it, but I think it works. I was introduced to this at a Bed and Breakfast in northwest Louisiana. The owner told me I would sleep like a baby after using it and I did. I would never have tried it otherwise. Now I always use it in my bath before I go to bed. The natural vapor is strong and very pleasant not at all sweet and not like perfume. I can feel my shoulders sagging as soon as the pungent aroma hits my nose and a good soak is better than a sleeping pill. Leaves your tub clean too.

I used to be able to buy this in Walmart. Not any more. I was so happy when I found it on line. I had been using Dr Teals for relaxation and it works. I recommend this for anyone who needs to relax after a hard day at work. In this day and age that's about everyone.

Happy soaking,

Joan R

GNC Melatonin 1, Tablets, Cherry, 120 ea 1 Pack, 2 Packs or 4 Packs

GNC Melatonin 1, Tablets, Cherry, 120 eaAlthough the photo clearly shows "sublingual" and cherry flavored, these tablets are not sublingual and must be taken 30-60 minutes before going to bed. They are definitely not effective when one desires going to sleep quickly. There are countless other brands that are also not sublingual, and they are available at any mass-market or grocery store as well as in the vitamin section of drug stores like RiteAid and Walgreen's. You'll find them at a better price than these, too.

We've used the GNC brand of sublingual melatonin for years now, and sublingual is what we want. We feel this product is misrepresented by the photo which should be updated/replaced by one not showing "sublingual" on the bottle.

My son has had difficulty with sleep and our developmental pediatrician recommended melatonin. This has a great cherry taste and works well. He takes 3 mg but refer to your doctor for your child's dosage.

If you have a child with moderate to severe Autism, I'm not telling you anything you don't already know.

For those of you who are new to the world of Autism this item is a life saver, especially when your ready for bed but your child is just getting started on their 25th tantrum for the day.

If your child refuses to eat the tablet (as mine often does) you can dissolve it into a 1/2 gallon sized pitcher of Kool-Aid (please remember to mark the pitcher so as not to let your other kids drink from it unless you want to knock them out too.)

As for dose: Our son is 25, is 6'-2" tall and weighs about 315 Lbs (Chocktaw Indian); one little pill or glass of Kool-Aid does the trick every time. If you have a younger child, I suggest using a pill cutter to cut the pill in half.

I have use this from various suppliers for years especially on international trips. Allows you to sleep without being groggy in the morning. In fact, I found if I had to get up during the night, I could wake up and be alert without a druggy feeling.

Have been using GNC's sublingual melatonin for several years. It's the only brand that doesn't leave me groggy the next morning. Yet it does a great job of easing me into sleep. I like the 1 mg dosage as it's easy to adjust the dosage. If I happen to wake up in the middle of the night due to a restless mind, I take a dropper of Deep Sleep under the tongue and that usually puts me right back to sleep.

Philips HF3520 Wake-Up Light With Colored Sunrise Simulation, White

Philips HF3520 Wake-Up Light With Colored Sunrise Simulation, WhiteThis Philips Wake-Up Light with Colored Simulation alarm clock/bedside lamp is a eco-friendly addition to the sunrise alarm clock line because it has an LED light that never needs replacement, at least for 20 years.

The light a *cool* white light when turned on fully, or you get a cool peachish glow when it's on low. The light is too cool for my taste and I actually prefer the light from the older model because of it's warmer glow produced by a halogen bulbs. Also, the light seems to be aimed forward, so I get more shadows in my room, along with the cooler color. It's like the difference between the LED Christmas lights and the regular (incandescent) lights--one has an odd glow (LED) and the traditional is warmer and more natural looking. I truly wish LEDs looked better because they use so much less energy. If you like the light of the LED, this might just be the perfect wake-up light for you because of all it's awesome features.

The colored sunrise/sunset is closer to an amber orange than reddish. It's an odd color, but it's nicer than plain white. The best thing about this particular model is that the sunrise can be timed at between 20 & 40 minutes (previous model Philips HF3471/60 was limited to 30 minutes). Also, the dusk simulation can go as low as 5 minutes which is great for people who read until dozey.

If you like to snooze, this model has a pretty cool feature: you can touch any part of the face and it will snooze for 9 minutes. Because it's touch sensitive, so you don't have buttons on the front, but more of a touch screen-type face. There are buttons around the rim for setting the alarm and beginning the dimming process.

Another great feature is the clock face settings. I prefer to sleep in a very dark room and can get bothered by any light, including alarm clock faces. The Philips light gives you four options brightness, and their dim is quite dim. Plus it's a mellow orange, which is the color that is the least bright in a dark room. It also auto-dims, so when your lights are out, the clock face automatically dims. Smart, clever design. The time font looks fuzzier than the older model, and at night it is really pleasant. Side by side, I prefer this model's fuzzier type face.

It has 5 sounds to wake up to: bird chirps, jungle sounds, New-age sounds, some lovely Satie-style piano and wind chimes. All of these choices are appealing. It begins quietly, then gradually increases in volume. The sound choices are all so mellow that even at the loudest setting it's way better than any beep.

I've used these dawn-simulation alarms for 16 years and owned two BioBrite Sunrise Clocks, a Verilux Lamp/Alarm clock, an old Philip's model and the Philips HF3471/60. Philips is the brand I continue to go to because of their quality, design and warranty. BioBrite and Verilux just couldn't compare in either quality or features, and especially in longevity.

This newest Philips model has a few awesome features:

* Touch snooze, you can literally touch any part of the front of the light

* Modern, cool design, that is bright enough to read by so you don't need another lamp

* Philips makes the best wake-up simulation lights, this model being the best to date because of it's user-friendly features.

* This model is very intuitive and easy to set as soon as you plug it in

* Colored sunrise/sunset

* Two easily set and distinctly separated alarm settings

* 20-year LED bulb

The negatives:

* I dislike the color emitted from the LED light, the white is too cool for my taste. It's a deal breaker.

Everyone in my house has a Philips wake-up light and we all prefer them to traditional alarms. You don't need more than one of these per room, especially with this model which has two alarm time settings. Also, I've never had to replace a single Philips halogen bulb (previous models) and I own two older styles of Philips' wake-up lights.

This lamp is an expensive investment, but apparently the LED bulb is supposed to last 20 long years. I'd recommend this model ONLY IF you like the color that white LED lights emit. Otherwise, I'd recommend an older Philips model. They have fewer features, but a warmer glow.

(2008 HOLIDAY TEAM) I live in Seattle, which means I can go months at a time without ever seeing sunlight. Starting around late-September, I start waking up in the dark. By the time November hits, I wake up in the dark, go to work in the dark, spend the day inside an office building, and go home in the dark. It can be depressing.

I bought the Philips goLITE BLU Light Therapy Device a few years ago to see if it could help with the winter blues, and I was amazed at how well it works. It is like a concentrated shot of sunshine that wakes my body up in the morning and gets me ready for the day. I love it, and have learned to trust in these Philips light devices.

I have been wanting one of these "dawn alarm clocks" for awhile now to help with another problem; waking up in the pitch dark. No matter what time I go to bed, or how many hours I sleep, my body tends to reject the idea that it should be getting up when it is as dark as the inside of a closet. I have to put my alarm clock across the room and drag myself out of bed. It doesn't make for fun mornings. Could Philips help me again?

After using this "Philips Wake-up Light" for about a week know, I am happy to say that it is equally awesome. This is exactly what I have been wanting. Somehow, waking up in a lit room makes all the difference. And I dearly, dearly love the slow brightening. This isn't a sudden shock to your system, like someone flicking on the light switch. Your body is brought naturally out of sleep with a rising light level, so by the time you open your eyes it feels like it is time to get up.

There are plenty of options on this wake-up light, and I think everyone will need to fiddle with it awhile to see what works for them. The first time I used it, I set the light to full brightness and had it aimed for my face. It is bright!! Glaring!! So I ended up moving it across the room, and aiming the light at the far wall so that the light appears more natural and reflects off the wall. You can set the duration for a couple of different times. I haven't found much difference personally between the 30 and 20 minute settings. I suppose it depends on how light sensitive you are.

Along with the light, there are a couple of different alarm sounds, including a radio. The sounds are OK ... some bird song, a little white noise, some wind chimes, jungle sounds, and a couple of music pieces. I have been using the bird song, which I like. But the sounds were something I was disappointed with. I have another alarm clock that slowly raises the volume of the sound the same way this wake-up light slowly increases the brightness. It seems like a no-brainer to connect the two, so that the nature sounds come in slowly with the light. But that option is not available.

I also found programming the clock to be a bit of a pain. Like many modern instruction manuals, there are few written instructions, just images to guide you through the process. It took me awhile of tapping buttons to figure out how to get the clock and alarm set, and what my options are. It isn't as intuitive as it could be. But once it is set, it is set, so this is only a minor headache at the beginning.

There are some other cool features here. I love the touch-to-snooze feature. It almost makes it too easy to head back to bed! And I haven't played around with the "dusk" mode yet, as I generally don't have the same problem going to sleep as I do waking up. But it seems like a good idea. The light is definitely bright enough to read by, and I could see reading in bed while the light slowly dims as a good way to get sleepy.

So a few minor quibbles, but over all awesome. This is one of those devices I wish I had got years ago. It has improved my gloomy Seattle mornings immensely.

I really did my homework on this one and weighed the pros and cons against the other models as well as competition's offerings. In the end, I went out on a limp and gave this one a shot and so far I am impressed.

Initial observations were that it seemed to be of a solid build quality with just the right amount of features for what I need. The instructions are pretty straight forward and if you've ever used a digital clock in your life you should be able to work your way through this with ease.

The first morning however, I did not awake to the light. Instead, I had birds chirping ridiculously loudly in my ear and a blinding light in my barely open eyes.... Ok, not what I was looking for at all.

Ok, I went back and tuned down the volume and increased the duration of the increasing light.

2nd morning a little better response. I awoke to the light, but it was already at almost peak brightness and then the birds started in.

(I figured I would give it another shot without making changes this time)

3rd morning significantly better. I realized I am training myself to become more sensitive to the light and my body is responding to the recreated sunrise better.

Some additional findings.

1. You have to be either facing the light or laying on your back with the light close enough to your peripheral to penetrate your eyelids and wake you naturally.

2. If you go to bed overtired or do not get enough sleep, this light WILL NOT work for you. I have tried it and found that I didn't wake up until the shrieking of my backup alarm on my cell phone and then I was being blinded and scream at by birds.

3. The 2nd Alarm is most likely useless for two people. I got all excited thinking she could use it as well, as she gets up an hour after I do. The problem is, in our queen bed, the light cannot reach from my nightstand to her eyes to have any effect on her waking up naturally.

4. Most of the sounds suck. There are only 3 that will serve as calming enough to fall asleep to or to wake up to naturally.

12/10/2012 Update I've had the new alarm in place for a few days now and all appears to be working well. Once again, I can't compliment Philips enough for their outstanding customer service. You can purchase this product with the assurance that it comes with top notch support if you ever encounter a problem.

12/4/2012 Update Philips saves the day. I called Philips (on a Sunday no less) and explained my issue to them. A very courteous and helpful rep assisted me. She carefully looked into the issue and possible causes before she deemed the lamp to be defective. She immediately shipped a replacement which is scheduled to arrive within the next 48 hrs. Everything from her wonderful attitude to the prompt service was stellar and in these days of waning customer service, not a small consideration when making a purchase. In any event, I felt the actions of Philips worthy of mention and look forward to trying the new light and functional snooze. The prompt problem resolution also improved my overall rating/view of the product.

12/1/2012 Update Apparently, my touch to snooze issue appears to be a defect. Others have pointed out that theirs works just fine from touching the front of the alarm. We haven't used the snooze in a while because we use both alarms and given our respective wake-up times, they pretty much act as a pseudo snooze anyhow (which solves our button dilemma since my wife just turns off the light after she wakes up first). I recently received a comment on my review from another user yet again reaffirming that the snooze works fine when they touch the front of their alarm. Well, I just tested my snooze nearly a dozen times. I tried touching both the top (light) and bottom (buttons) regions of the front. I touched it with little pressure, moderate pressure, one finger and every combination of fingers up to placing my entire palm on the front. It simply does not work. I also tested the snooze using both alarms 1 and 2 and it worked with neither. One curious thing I did just discover is that touching the rear only works if I touch it a certain way. Directly touching the rear of the clock (and nothing else) does nothing; however, when we reach around to touch the rear of the alarm from the bed, it works. The only theory I could somewhat prove is that our wrist apparently brush up against the outer edge of the alarm face when we reach toward the back of the alarm. I now believe it is this outer edge of the alarm face that is sensing our touch, not the rear. So to clarify, the outer edge of the front seems to work to snooze but nowhere else on the front works. And even though that part works, it's not as consistent as I initially believed it to be. If we used the snooze feature more, we would have noticed this earlier. Quite honestly, I'm disappointed given my previous experience with the reliability of my prior generation wake up light. The worst thing to experience after having numerous problems with a product in the past is to try the product again and realize it's defective right out of the box. I still like the light but the reliability forces me to drop it two stars. Maybe my own little star system will break it down better:

Satisfaction with product performance: ***** (This is purely how I love the way it wakes me up. As I said, we barely use snooze anyhow, so it's not very influential in this rating)

Satisfaction with product features: **** (button placement and other minor dislikes knocked one star off)

Satisfaction with product reliability: * (This is the snooze issue also taking into consideration my prior track record with wake-up lights)

Overall Satisfaction: *** (I love the light but a defective unit right out of the box would be a little easier to overlook had I not previously experienced so many issues with a prior wake-up light)

(Original review follows)

I previously had one of the earlier Philips wake up lights (the HF3480), which was somewhat of a disappointment. Although I loved the way it woke us up with soothing sounds and gentle lighting that gradually increased in intensity like natural sunlight, it wasn't very reliable mechanically. The main issue was the bulb. The bulb never seemed to last more than about 6 months and it wasn't user replaceable. My bulbs blew twice over a span of a year. Both times the bulb blew, I had to contact Philips, get an RMA, ship the lamp back to them on my own dime and await a replacement. To Philips' credit, at least the replacements were new, not refurbs, but it was a pain nonetheless. The third issue didn't involve the bulb but the radio. It turned on by itself one day and refused to turn off. I tried everything. In addition to fiddling with the knobs forever, I unplugged it numerous times, even allowing it to sit for days without power. When I plugged it back in, the radio came right back on, so I fiddled with the knobs some more but could not get it to turn off. I tried to live with it and still use the wake-up feature, but despite turning the radio volume all the way down, it would still make static and crackling noises until I finally couldn't take it anymore. I was unwilling to ship the lamp back to Philips a third time at my expense, so that was the end of the road for it in our household. I didn't even make it through the two-year warranty. You reach a point where even a lengthy warranty isn't worth the aggravation of constantly shipping it back for repair or replacement.

So, after passing on the subsequent later models, I decided to give the latest version a try through Vine. They've completely changed the form factor and the bulb is different as well. The HF3480 looked like a desktop humidifier and had a soft white bulb that gradually brightened. This model is shaped like a large floodlight and has a multi-color bulb that not only gradually brightens, but changes colors to mimic sunlight. When it first turns on, it's a low intensity reddish color. As it brightens, it progresses to a more yellowish color before topping out in a brilliant off-white that very accurately mimics the shine of sunlight through closed eyes. As was experienced with the last wake-up light, I am almost always awakened by the light before the actual alarm sounds start. The sounds begin after the light reaches full intensity. To me, it's the perfect way to wake. It's gentle, soothing and much less harsh than a traditional alarm. Here are my pros and cons of the new wake up light:

Pros

-----

Gentle soft warm soothing light that more closely mimics natural sunlight than it's predecessors.

Choice of soothing nature sounds (birds, wind, water), AM/FM radio, or a very soothing musical alarm. I prefer the musical alarm.

Although it looks like a floodlight from the side, it looks like a round stylish contemporary clock with orange dot-matrix display from the front.

Easy to set and touch to snooze option is great, as long as you touch the right part of the lamp (the rear. Touching the front does nothing, as we found out the hard way when we lost out on a snooze because we couldn't figure out why touching the lamp didn't work)

Very easy to use combination of touch sensitive and conventional buttons (except for snooze. See below cons)

Solid 2-year warranty

Cons

-----

Shaky reliability history. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed on this latest version. I will certainly update my review as needed, good or bad.

As already mentioned, you must touch the back portion of the body to snooze. When "touch to snooze" is touted as a feature, it might help to make it crystal clear you must touch the back because the front won't work)

Buttons, particularly the one to turn off the light, are hard to find by feel. If you truly want to snooze, you need to turn off the light, however, the buttons are very tiny and closely spaced to each other along the top of the clock. Because this is very brightly front-lit, it's almost impossible to see the buttons while the light is on in a darkened room. Because of the close spacing, feeling for buttons usually results in unintended results, like turning on the radio, as we've done a few times. Unless we get lucky, we usually have to turn on the desk lamp and lean over to find the light button. By the time we do all of that, we're pretty much already awake and no longer need the snooze. So much for stealing a few more minutes.

Although it looks stylish head-on from the front, any other angle makes it look like an oversized floodlight sitting on your nightstand

The clock is hard to read in bright light. I wish intensity was a little brighter. It's readable in dark or dimly lit rooms but gets washed out by moderate to strong light

So far, I am very happy with this wake up light. There absolutely is no better way to wake other than naturally, free of alarms, but sadly that's only a weekend luxury for me, if I'm lucky.

Given the fact that both the light and body style are totally different from the HF3480, I'm giving this wake-up light a fresh start. I won't "expect" it to break prematurely as I did with the HF3480. I'll allow the quality of this lamp to speak for itself. Hopefully, I like what it has to say.

Want Philips HF3520 Wake-Up Light With Colored Sunrise Simulation, White Discount?

The Philips HF3520/60 light meets one of its promises a fairly realistic simulation of a sunrise that can prove useful in waking up. What it doesn't do as well is to do much else, as an alarm clock, radio, or seasonal light. 3 stars for a still-useful device that misses on a few fronts.

Having used the portable Philips GoLite for circadian reset purposes while traveling most sleep doctors will tell you bright light exposure upon waking really helps I was eager to try a full spectrum light for home use. The results from the HF3520/60 are mixed.

What it does really well is to mimic a sunrise. It is a gentle but effective way to wake up, starting at red, progressing through orange and yellow to white. Really quite neat, and unique among any light boxes currently on the market.

What it doesn't do as well is to function as anything else. The alarm clock is ok, but as other reviewers have pointed out the buttons are far, far too small you risk knocking it off your night stand trying to push them, and setting the alarm isn't particularly intuitive. The sounds on the alarm clock aren't graduated, nor are there many of them; in general, something like the alarm on the Zeo Mobile provides a much more pleasant audio wake up if the light doesn't do so, and it's odd that Philips didn't take this into account while designing the HF3520.

It's also disappointing that there's no AM radio or 2.5mm headphone jack to allow external devices. For more audio options than the weak FM radio, Philips clearly wants consumers to purchase the more expensive HF3550, with the presumption that they own an Iphone 4 or below to pipe in audio. It's theoretically possible to buy a third-party FM modulator for a workaround, but that's an awful lot of effort to put in to achieve the same functionality in an expensive device that most cheap $20 alarm clocks provide out of the box.

Most importantly, even at full intensity the 300 lux light is enough to wake up most people but is far too weak to provide the recommended light dosage for morning exposure. Putting this side-by-side with the older 10000 lux Britelite 6 is like comparing the sun to a candle. Even the little GoLite puts out a far more powerful lux than this. As such, it really isn't useful for anything more than just waking you up, and that's a shame.

3 stars for the narrow but useful niche it occupies. A neat way to get your eyes open but not much more.

Daydream Buddha Sleep Mask With Cool Pack, Bronze

Daydream Buddha Sleep Mask With Cool Pack, BronzeI bought this for a friend and it makes a great gift. It works perfectly -no light gets in. The added gel pads are a nice compliment to soothe the tired eyes. Also on the back of the mask, the straps are adjustable, so it will fit any shape or size and also can be adjusted for personal comfort level depending on how tight you'd like the mask. There are soft pads by the nose area to prevent light from getting in -a lot of masks don't feature that and light can still get on from the bridge of the nose. This mask makes it easy to sleep.

This mask is the best one that I have tried, it fits well around your nose to block out the light. The only negative thing I have to say about it is the outer decorative material that does not touch your eyes is rough and not smooth at all, I would suggest that they use a better cotton blend at least to soften this and the trim around it so it is a smooth comfy product all the way around. Other than that it does what it is meant to do and helps me sleep by blocking out the light. I also really like that it has the 2 adjustable straps in the back instead of just 1 elastic band or something, it really helps the product stay on your face all night, I move around a lot so that makes a huge differnece.

I've been using this for the last 4 months and I absolutely love it. It was replacing a cheapy TJ Maxx brand which I thought was great until this one. I was skeptical of the two thin straps vs the single strap I had, but it is way more comfortable and stays on during restless nights. I ran it thru the wash and it's still intact.

It also has some strange foam bumpers below the eyes. I assume it's for the cool pack but I don't even notice it now. I do not use the cool pack so I can't help you in that dept.

I will say that this sleep mask, or any for that matter will spoil you as far as creating the cave effect... When I'm not using it, I will wake up if there is any light. Use at own risk!!!

my son was advised to take this by a holistic doctor to help him focus and not be so hyper. It actually works! We open the capsule and put it in his rice milk and he doesn't mind the taste I notice a difference when he does not take it!

I tried Travacor and had a bad reaction. Could not sleep at all, felt heart racing. My homeopath doctor tested me later for the individual ingredients in Travacor and I am allergic to L Theanine which is in Travaor. The Travacor label does not indicate how much Theanine, Taurine or 5 HTP is in the formula. I am probably unusual that I am allergic to L Theanine which is in green tea.

I gave the product one star to due the label not providing amounts for the the three indicated items. Though they are listed. And the fact that I had the bad reaction just so people can be aware of side effects.

First of all, you HAVE to have your neurotransmitters tested and the testing company has to recommend you take Travacor. You can't just randomly take a product that will affect your neurotransmitters without knowing which ones are too high, too low, or normal. My levels of serotonin, PEA and epinephrin were too low, and my glycine was way too high. My symptoms were: For the past 4 months, and getting worse as time went by, I couldn't fall asleep or stay asleep, my heart was palping, and pulse was always high. When I first took this product (one capsule), an hour before bed, as recommended, I had hot flashes about 1 and 1/2 hours later. This caused me to panic, and of course, I couldn't sleep. I didn't take Travacor again for a week, and my sleep got worse and worse, and I was already using prescription sleep aids! (I do take melatonin, natural thyroid & progesterone, so my hormones were balanced and not causing these sleep problems.) After a week, I decided to take Travacor again, but this time take it 4 hours before bed, so that if it gave me hot flashes, I would hopefully have it out of my system by the time I tried to sleep. Sure enough, I experienced 2 hot flashes, but then they subsided. I took my pulse about 2 hours later, and it was 30 beats a minute slower! I had hope! It's now been about 2 weeks since starting Travacor and the other recommended product, DL-Phenalalanine in the AM, and my sleep has greatly improved! I'm weaning off my sleep meds, and taking only the tiniest sliver now, and able to fall asleep within 10 minutes! I'm almost ready to start my 3rd week recommendation, AdreCor. Travacor is definitely not a placebo effect. I didn't have any hope it would work. It will absolutely do what it says ONLY if your tests indicate you need to use it.

A while back my doctor suggested I try Travacor for night time (sleep& anxiety) and Adrecor for fatigue and maybe stress related depression. So I took both and was feeling very good. Later on I decided to stop for a while and see how I felt. Well, I regret not having these products on hand to help me get through the occasional heavy stress periods that life throws at us. .So Iam back for more travacor and adrecor. The only negatives for these products is that the high amino acid formula seems to make me retain water, ( so reduction or elimination of all salt from your diet is a good idea.) and the price tag is rather high for neuroscience products, although still worth it for its pure formula and lack of unneccesary additives. I failed to mention that I have tried a few other products from Neuroscience and it is just a matter of finding the formula that works "best" for you.

I highly recommend any product from neuroscience.

Itzbeen Pocket Nanny Baby Care Timer

Itzbeen Pocket Nanny Baby Care Timer, BlueWhen I suggested to my wife that we needed this item on our baby registry, she thought I was just feeding my gadget habit, baby-style. Having been a night nurse for newborn twins and triplets for years, she thought she would never need this item. Well, this item arrived on the second day after we got home from the hospital and my wife wishes that she had it on the first.

You see, one of the skills that really suffers with sleep deprivation is math. If you can even mentally keep track of the times or write them down, doing the "hours" math on when our baby last fed, when she had her diaper changed, etc. is really not as easy as it sounds when you've had no more than about 45 minutes of continuous sleep for four days. So this does it for you four timers with little icons and a left/right slider for breastfeeding (which is also a tough thing to remember, but something you really don't want to forget). It is exceedingly simple press the icon button and it restarts the timer perfect for the sleep-deprived mind.

As for the suggestions by some reviewers that this timer needs additional features, such as feeding totals and quantity subtotals, I disagree. I think that additional features would likely take away from the simplicity of the device making it more complicated to operate on limited brainpower and thus less likely to be used. Those with more complex needs might consider a PDA with a spreadsheet or specially designed program.

It's not often I get to hear that I was right and my wife was wrong (we're usually on the same page). This was one of those times.

This timer system is beyond helpful it becomes your BRAIN when you have a newborn, as the hours, feedings and diaper changes become a total blur during this amazing yet totally sleep deprived time of your life. While it would be nice to have a few more features like total ounces drank, whether the diaper was a wet one or a doodie, and tracking of daily totals for everything that'd be more of a infantcare PDA, and is a bit beyond the scope of this little device. All it aims to be is a timer that will keep track of the key stats in your baby's life, consequently making your life way easier. I wake up in middle of the night and the baby is grunting, for example. I click the backlight button and see that in fact the baby has only been asleep for an hour, and had a diaper and bottle right before that. Then I just go back to sleep. On the other hand, he beguns grunting and making noises and I see the Itzbeen says it's been 2 hours 30 minutes since his last bottle or diaper, and I know it's time to get up and feed him.

It's also great for team caregiving, as my husband can hand me the Itzbeen after doing his morning shift, and I automatically know when the last change and bottle were. We use the wildcard button to track bottle expirations too.

Thumbs up for the developers of this cool gadget I hope to see an "Itzbeen II" w/ some advanced features in time for my next baby although keeping it simple does help keep it easy and quick to use, especially in the fog of a 1am, 3am, and 5am feeding schedule! (my son never got the memo that full term babies are only supposed to eat every 3 or 4 hours :)

Having twins we always had to write down everything, or we wouldn't remember whom we feed, when we feed them, or any details. We used to keep a chart, but then I received the Itzbeen as a gift. It is so much faster to press a button then to write everything down. When we go out I just toss it in my purse and when the babies start crying I can just pull out the itzbeen look at the timers and figure out if it is time to eat or they are just being fussy. If the boys do eat or require a diaper change, I can record it easily. no more carrying around a clipboard!

I didn't give it 5 stars because it would be even better if it could track how many oz of formula the babies eat and if it could total the number of hours the baby slept.

But still it is a nice tool for forgetful people. I'm buying a 2nd one, so I have one for each of my twins.

I got this product before our baby was born as a way to help my husband be involved with the care of our newborn--I figured that keeping track of things like diapering and feeding schedules would help him feel more integral to the life of the new baby since I would be breastfeeding and doing the lion's share of the feeding work. But it turned out to be more than just a good idea to have when my labor and delivery took 3 days in the hospital and produced one beautiful but tired infant. Our daughter took a couple of weeks to come out of her daze (3 days of being squeezed by contractions would stun anyone!), and in the meantime we had to wake her for feedings, which we juggled with a pumping schedule to help my milk supply come in and build up. This turned out to be an invaluable gadget during those first chaotic weeks. As a bonus, since it arrived two weeks before we delivered, we also used it to time my contractions at home.

Pros:

-The four seperate timers are great. We managed to track our daughter's feedings, my breast pumping, her sleep cycles, and other miscellaneous events all at once. The option of being able to set an alarm (silent with flashing light or beeping with flashing light) for each of the timers was an extra bonus.

-The nightlight feature is fantastic. Even now when we're not using the timers that often I use the nightlight several times a night to check on our daughter without turning the lights on or disturbing my sleeping husband. When we were using the timers the seperate backlight feature was also critical since we could check the display without making it too bright.

-It's small and fits in the palm of your hand or clips onto your clothing. So it goes everywhere and I even slip it into the diaper bag when we're going out of town or even just headed out and about and I need to keep track of something.

-It did accomplish what I wanted it to: my husband was able to be very involved with our daughter's life in the first few weeks. Plus it helped me out that he could keep track of things that needed to be done when I was completely zoned out and sleep deprived.

Cons:

-There really aren't any. Some people complain that it should have more features, like keeping track of wet/dirty diapers or other feeding details. But that's really only something that you do for a short time, and adding features like that would detract from the simplicity of the device.

This is a great product. It had it's heaviest use in the first few weeks of my daughter's life, but we continue to use it and find ways to make it useful for all of us.

My timer was defective in that LED screen for the top function (the diaper change button) was not complete...meaning you could not discern the digits (was it an 8 or 0?). Otherwise, the other functions worked and I was able to see how much time elapsed. Overall, though I stopped using the timer fairly quickly for a few reasons.

1. I had a newborn and when she was yelling/screaming crying for her bottle or permanently attached to my breast...I just forgot to press that button to start the timer over.

2. For some reason, I envisioned a product that would not only keep time between feedings, diaper changes, etc. but would also keep track of the sleep time during the day, etc. or the number of diaper changes & feedings per day. BUT it only tells how much time has elapsed from the your last feeding, changing etc. Maybe I am asking too much, but I don't see what differentiates this product from a multi-use timer. It's essentially several times on one device. Overall, it is a good but for all the raving reviews I just expected more.

I came back and edited this review because I wanted to add that they company has fabulous customer service. I emailed the company to inquire about getting a replacement for the timer. The president of the company emailed me back promptly on a Sunday asking for my address. He did not ask me to send back the defective timer and must have shipped the replacement priority or overnight because I received the replacment in no time.

SleePap Pillow 4" H - Special Pillow for CPAP Users (White) (4" H x 20" W x 26" D) Includes pillowca

SleePap Pillow 4' H - Special Pillow for CPAP Users Includes pillowcaseI've experimented with many pillows, since I began sleeping with a CPAP. I use nasal pillows with an over-the-head unit. I fall asleep on my stomach, so it's always been a challenge to get comfortable on the edge of the pillow. This pillow relieves that, and I find that it's easier to get settled.

Combine this with the Hose Buddy, and life is MUCH better!

I love my SleePap Pillow! I do not have a full mask, but only a nose pillow headset. This pillow is great for me, my CPAP and my side sleeping ways. Perfect set up for putting my hand under the pillow, perfect cut-out for my Lady ResMed headset. Fairly firm which is great for both side sleeping and back sleeping. I now sleep through the night I was waking a few times during the night with my old pillow. My headset doesn't move or slid off during the night. I no longer wake with marks on my face. It is just plain comfortable.

I love the cutout for my shoulder on the bottom.

The only thing more I'd like to have is an all cotton pillow case, not cotton poly. I've washed the pillow case that comes with it and it keeps its shape and size.

TRY IT! YOU'LL LIKE IT!

I felt like I was sleeping on a sand dune; the pillow was bulbous and hard. I couldn't adjust the height like I could do with a feather or polyfill regular pillow which I can kind of fold under itself. If I moved my head, it would slip off the crown of this pillow like ski's on an icy edge. I don't think that the guy in the picture is really sleeping; I couldn't. :)

The pillow arrived within the specified time.

The filling inside the pillow is rather hard unlike most pillows, but the shape is ok.

A better quality filling would improve it .

The first time I took it it was during the day (i didn't know I had the pm version) and I was feeling so sleepy and I didn't know why. Now I only use it at night and it works very well for me. I didn't experience any nightmares like the other reviewer stated they experienced ;)

I purchased this item from ABC distribution through Amazon 5 weeks ago. They sell this product using a long list of machines one of which is the one I have. What I received resembles the picture but is twice the size that works in my machine. Contacted the company through Amazon and they responded that they would send me a return label and replace with the correct filters. Waited 3 1/2 wks. No label,no further correspondence. Called them direct. The person who answered the phone couldn't wait to get off the line. Told me they would send me a label and replace the filters with the right ones. Still waiting! It isn't the product which is exactly the same as my unit uses. It's the size and the vendor selling them. Too little information on too wide a variety of machines. One size does not fit all.

I have a REMStar Pro. These filters DO NOT FIT! Way too big, despite being listed as the correct filter. Tried cutting them to size, they then de-laminated and fell apart. Filters are of a good quality, reseller just too lazy to list the correct match of machine to filter. Wont do business with them again. Not worth the cost of postage to send them back.

The first batch of filters that I received were very large and not correct, I contacted the seller and they immediately forwarded the correct size requesting that I return the original shipment at my convenience. Great service, good product, I will re-order as needed.

Good Quality durable plastic mess backed HEPA CPAP filter. I actually bought this to cut up and use for a different filter as the price and quality were so good.

Snuggle Skins Insulating CPAP Hose Cover - Green for 6' & 8' Hoses

Snuggle Skins Insulating CPAP Hose Cover - Green for 6' & 8' HosesPerfect for keeping the cold tube off my skin. It is very soft and thick so even if you sleep on it you don't wake with tube lines pressed into yourself. The only thing I do not like is it a bit tedious to feed over the tubing. The seams don't allow much space for the rubber ending so it takes a couple of minutes to feed it all the way through.
