I use these with a Sound Oasis system and they work beautifully! The pillow I have is a special contour shape, and they fit perfectly underneath. I haven't tried them with an ordinary pillow. The sound is clear, natural, and I can easily adjust the volume. I just purchased 3 more sets along with sound systems for Christmas gifts for my office staff.

Now I can listen to my radio, stereo, iPod and not disturb my husband. I have a special orthopedic pillow due to neck surgery. I just unzip the covering, slide the speakers under the pillow. Close it up, plug it in to whatever device I chose and I am in heaven. Now, I can take the speakers with me when I travel. I have a difficult time sleeping on strange mattresses but with speakers and one of my "toys" I can be lulled to sleep in a matter of minutes.

OH, the volume control is a blessing. Thank you.

Under the pillow speakers with"volume control" Not. Well the first thing is,the sound is way to low when under the pillow. Even with my hearing aid. Can not ajust the sound, volume is as my T.V. only the % as the t.v.

(2) Should have been made a little bigger,thinner/flatter.

(3) And would help a lot if it was made with some kind of coveing that was

soft, padded and flaxsable. Not very happy with it. Only about 40%.

I honestly have used these just about every night since getting them for Christmas. I use them for listening to music while going to sleep or if watching a movie on the iPod. I set the sleep timer for a few hrs and put the iPod on the nightstand. I don't bother taking them out of the pillow until the morning since I fall asleep to the music. This is my first pair of pillow speakers so I don't know what I'm missing from the other types out there, but would not think twice about getting these again.

Why I would buy these again:

this speaker set is loud and sounds great. They can get almost too loud when I listen to them using an iPod Touch. I set the dial on the speakers all the way up then adjust the sound on the iPod to the loudest I would want it. Afterwards, I use the dial to adjust the volume while listening. The reason being is one night I made the mistake of cranking the dial all the way up while half asleep and nearly jumped out of bed.

wires are long and thick. I've heard of some other speakers having frail wiring, but this one remains solid after months of nightly use. I turn quite a bit so I have the speakers and wires inside the pillow case. I don't worry too much about how tangled the wires get knowing that they are pretty solid.

Why I may take a chance on another type:

I mentioned the cord is long which was great for setting the ipod on the nightstand, but the cord between the 2 speakers are on the long side too. I can position the speakers where I want and still have extra wire which tends to get a little tangled. This would be a plus if you wanted to share the other speaker.

when I use a thin pillow I can just about feel them under it. They are rounded very nicely so I don't feel any edges, but I do feel the lump under the pillow. Granted my pillow is very thin and I don't notice it at all when I use the better pillow.

I would love to get this pillow speaker with iPod controls. I use the Touch with these and if I want to skip or rewind I have to grab the Touch from the night stand.
