BED OF NAILS 1919 Mat, Green - THE ORIGINAL with 8820 spikes

I'm not totally sold on this acupressure mat. It supposedly alleviates pain and brings on a state of euphoria. Perhaps the latter part is true. I do feel very relaxed while laying on the mat and have actually fallen asleep on it a few times only to wake up a hour later.

When I received the package I was a little surprised at how sharp the pressure nails really are. This is definitely to be kept out of reach of children. I laid it out and went shirt off my first time. It did hurt at first. It was a burning sensation that eventually subsided. And the first time I got up from the mat I thought my back was on fire. After multiple uses I did get used to all this and actually found it quite enjoyable.

The problem is; does it work? I cannot answer that. I can give you my background. I am a very active person. I golf 3-4x a week, jog regularly, and lift weights at the gym sometimes doing all 3 activities in 1 day. Earlier this year I strained my upper back muscle. If you've ever done this it's quite painful. This product never crossed my mind until I saw it at a very good price. After doing some research on the product I concluded that it's worth a shot. I also have trouble sleeping at night. I wake up probably 3-4x a night and never get a good nights rest.

Results:

The bed of nails did not help me with my sleeping problems. I still wake up regularly through the night. It also did not help with my muscle pains. I've been using it for 3 weeks now. It also hasn't really helped with loosening my tight back muscles either. I can vouch for the relaxation part, however. I lay on it for 20-30 mins with music playing and I feel at peace. I collect my thoughts and feel very calm.

I went through the Bed of Nails website and found that they don't actually claim it does anything. They throw around the word 'may' everywhere. Like a lot of Western medicine it's really up to the person to make up there own mind. Do magnets for pain relief actually work? I don't think so, but there are proponents out there for that too. At this point I would just caution the buyer.

The Bed of Nails has literally changed my life. A bi-daily routine for me, standing on the bed in the morning awakens me and gives me a sense of calm relaxation and a jolt of energy to start my day. At night, the bed soothes my sore muscles, erasing any sense of tension, and lulls me into a deep sleep. After many years of doing chiropractic, massage, acupuncture and yoga to counteract a neck injury sustained in a car accident, the bed has absolutely blown my mind with the benefits over the long term and far surpassed all other remedies and practices. It truly is the gift that keeps on giving. The Bed of Nails pillow, which I just started using, is my instant happiness delivering a rush of endorphins surging through my body, it always puts a smile on my face. The sense of well being and endorphin high is so appealing there should be a warning label!

I would recommend the Bed of Nails to anyone looking for a deeper state of relation, to alleviate chronic tension and especially for those with sleep problems. It is truly a wonder how effective and transformative the Bed of Nails is and I'm not sure how I lived 30 years without it. I've shared and gifted the Bed of Nails to at least a dozen friends and am still amazed by the health benefits. It is without doubt the best purchase I've made in as long as I can remember.

Not only did I get NO results from the mat, it can't be returned because it's considered a personal health item. The non-returnable part never occurred to me, but I will be more careful in the future. The mat sounded too good to be true in the reviews, and that should have been a clue.

I was given the bed of nails as a gift. I stand alot for my job and I am overweight so I frequently had lower back pain. I had no idea what to expect from the bed of nails and when I first lay on it topless it was quite painful. I then put on a t-shirt and laid on the mat and found it to be pleasant. I used it for a week or two every night with a t-shirt on and as I got used to it I lifted my shirt bit by bit until I didn't need the shirt any more. Now, it doesn't hurt and it relaxes me. The list of ailments the bed of nails is said to cure is extensive and I was hoping it would make me sleep better, but it didn't. It relaxes me and has even helped me fall asleep but I still wake up and I have scratched my fingers on the plastic nails while adjusting the mat. However, I don't get back pains anymore. I didn't even notice at first. Then it dawned on me that I hadn't been bothered by my back in days (weeks now). I use it as I lay on bed every night and I feel more relaxed in general and my back feels fabulous. I think you may have to use it a few weeks before you notice the difference, but once you do you will love it. If it hurts use a t-shirt until you grow accustomed to it. I highly recommend.

I was a bit skeptical, but the reviews were great so I went ahead and bought this. I'm so glad I did. The more I use it, the more I like it. Within a few minutes of laying on it, it's as though I can literally feel my circulation improving. Often times, when I stand up, I feel like I do after receiving a massage. My husband who is much larger than me does not like it and says it hurts too much to stand. Works for me though! I highly recommend giving it a try. I bought the pillow too and it's a nice set. Aveeno Smart Essentials Daily Detoxifying Scrub, 5 Ounce (Pack of 2)

I purchased this cleanser along with the nightime cream and I am not convinced of the cleaning powers in this cleanser. I don't feel much "scrub" happening and sometimes after using this I will use a pad from Neutrogena and see makeup still coming off (and I do not pile makeup on my face).

In the end the scent is nice and this moisturizes, but as for deep cleaning, I'm not sold.

The container lends itself readily to use in the shower-apply and rinse off and enjoy smoother skin.

Used this product for about 2-1/2 weeks before writing this review. I can easily see one tube lasting for 2 or more months as only a tiny bit is needed to massage into your face and neck when the skin is already wet.

I am very sensitive to allergens and have a problem with many chemical scents. The barely there scent is pleasant and only noticeable when I brought the tube up to my face for a sniff test. I don't notice it at all when applying the product.

My face does feel smoother than when just using my moisturizer alone, and I was surprised that this was accomplished with so little exfoliating granules. Although part of me wishes there was a tad more of them per application.

Apparently the detoxifying aspect of it works since I've broken out in a couple of places. That too seems to be gentle or I would have expected a much larger break out at once to get rid of the toxins in my pores.

I love Aveeno products, and this one is no exception. The exfoliating particles are very fine, so you don't feel like you're sandpapering your face, and it smells amazing! I use this scrub every morning and night. The smell is clean and not overpowering. The scrubbing beads are tiny enough to effectively slough away dead skin cells without leaving your face looking and feeling raw. My one gripe about this cleanser is that it dries out parts of my skin. I have a very oily t-zone and the cleanser actually balances out this area very nicely, but the drier parts of my skin, i.e. the corners of my nose and lips, become ridiculously dry after washing my face. I was very hesitant to buy these because I've read a lot of reviews in the other colors that said they were way too small to fit a king size pillow. So I wanted satin pillow cases to hopefully lessen the amount of knots I was getting in my hair so I ordered these. They were white, they were satin, and they were king-sized. Those were all the things I needed. Well, I received them and realized they are not in fact made for KING sized pillows. I compared these new pillow cases to the pillow cases that were previously on my pillows only to find out that these satin ones were about 3-4 inches shorter. That isn't to say that I couldn't have shoved by pillows in there and made it work, but I don't order pillowcases so that I can shove my pillow in them and make my pillow awkward and lumpy.

Calling these pillow cases "King-sized" is a complete misnomer. If you have really soft pillows that you like to bend up when you sleep with them, then I am sure these would be fine, but if you don't and you like your pillowcase to loosely fit over your pillow then DO NOT BUY this product.

I bought this because, to be honest, it was black. I have osteoarthritis in my thumb joint and my hand gets worked ALOT in my line of work. The brace from my Dr. (hard plastic) hurts my thumb after time, my other OTC braces are nude/taupe color and get dirty really quickly. Under the pillow speakers with"volume control" Not. Well the first thing is,the sound is way to low when under the pillow. Even with my hearing aid. Can not ajust the sound, volume is as my T.V. only the % as the t.v.

I honestly have used these just about every night since getting them for Christmas. I use them for listening to music while going to sleep or if watching a movie on the iPod. I set the sleep timer for a few hrs and put the iPod on the nightstand. I don't bother taking them out of the pillow until the morning since I fall asleep to the music. This is my first pair of pillow speakers so I don't know what I'm missing from the other types out there, but would not think twice about getting these again.

Why I would buy these again:

this speaker set is loud and sounds great. They can get almost too loud when I listen to them using an iPod Touch. I set the dial on the speakers all the way up then adjust the sound on the iPod to the loudest I would want it. Afterwards, I use the dial to adjust the volume while listening. The reason being is one night I made the mistake of cranking the dial all the way up while half asleep and nearly jumped out of bed.

wires are long and thick. I've heard of some other speakers having frail wiring, but this one remains solid after months of nightly use. I turn quite a bit so I have the speakers and wires inside the pillow case. I don't worry too much about how tangled the wires get knowing that they are pretty solid.

Why I may take a chance on another type:

I mentioned the cord is long which was great for setting the ipod on the nightstand, but the cord between the 2 speakers are on the long side too. I can position the speakers where I want and still have extra wire which tends to get a little tangled. This would be a plus if you wanted to share the other speaker.

when I use a thin pillow I can just about feel them under it. They are rounded very nicely so I don't feel any edges, but I do feel the lump under the pillow. Granted my pillow is very thin and I don't notice it at all when I use the better pillow.

I would love to get this pillow speaker with iPod controls. I use the Touch with these and if I want to skip or rewind I have to grab the Touch from the night stand.

Flents Siesta Mask #404

I bought this product about a year ago, since my room had venetian blinds that would let light in well before I wanted to wake up. As far as sleep masks go, it functioned wonderfully; it was comfortable, had a snug fit without being painful, and you can bet no light got through.

So, why only 3 stars? Because a few months after I bought it, something strange happened: the elastic straps on the mask began wearing away. And I mean really wearing away; when touched, the straps left a dark, sticky mess on my fingers that was very difficult to remove. It stained so badly, there's even traces of it still on my pillowcase, several months after I got rid of the horrid mask.

So, basically: if you're looking for a cheap sleep mask you're only going to use a little bit, go ahead. If you want something that will last, look for something else, because if you keep using it, it WILL stain.

I couldn't do without these. Other eye masks, including the easier-to-find (in drugstores) yet pricier Flents "Sleep Mask," are less comfortable than the Siesta. They are harder, let more light in, and don't form a soft, comfortable quailty feeling over the eyes. I'm so glad the Siestas are easy to find online, because they went from hard-to-impossible to find in retail stores years ago.

In maybe one in five of the Siestas I will find that one of the straps snap off almost immediately. And another occasional problem (rarely seen lately) is getting a mask that seems to be missing the cushiony feeling, i.e., it seems krinkly. BUT despite these occasional issues this is still a great and economical product, especially given that you can buy a big supply for a great price at an Amazon merchant (just beware of those merchants that have a supposedly lower price, but are in reality outrageously-priced on multi-unit orders because they add a separate $5-$7 shipping dollar for EACH mask!).

When the mask straps start loosening, as they will do after awhile, the easy solution is to simply create a little knot in each strap, and voila -snug, soft and comfortable again (since I'm not at home as I write this is forget whether that solution is explained in the instructions).

These are very poorly made, must of cost like 50 cents to make, and that is stretching it. Save yourself the aggravation, spend a little more and get a mask that will last a while.

i have been using the McKenzie Night Roll for 10 years to relieve my lower back pain and it really works! I have collapsed or bulging discs in L1 L5. I can not sleep comfortably through the night without it. With it, I wake in the morning with considerably less lower back pain. Without it, I am struggling to move about.

I strongly recommend this item to anyone who has the problems I have with lower back pain.

Like many other back-pain sufferers, I've dropped a lot of coin on all sorts of medicines, gadgets, etc. and I decided to take a chance on this due to the back pain I get each morning upon awakening. The product itself is ok and does what it says, but just know that this is one of those things that will take some getting used to. Sleeping with something wrapped around your waist all night is not easy to stick with, but I can say that I notice some relief when I first lay down because it keeps my back from sagging down into the mattress. Like a lot of other things it is hit or miss. I will keep it, but I'm not sure I'll always use it.

This new model stinks. It has about half the heft of the original product and flattens to almost nothing, so there's no support.

I think this item does what intended to a degree; however, it does seem to flatten out more in the back than I would like.

I have depended on this for 10 years. I had back surgery and I used it post surgery. I credit this with a large contribution to my recovery. I know everyone is different, but now, this product is the only thing that enables me to travel and sleep in many different types of beds. I carry it with me everywhere I go for overnights. I have discovered that, for me, a firm bed is suicide. It is best for me if my hips and shoulders can sink into a softer bed, but that might cause my waist to sink also and create a lot of back pain. As long as the soft bed is supportive, I do not need the back roll, but I couldn't make it 10 minutes on a firm bed without it. I take no chances traveling and simply take it along. (unsolicited recommendation for select comfort....LOVE this bed for my bad back. 35.)

Mes Heavy Duty Oxygen Cylinder Tank Wrench

I needed an extra O2 cylinder wrench to carry in my Go bag as a spare. This isn't something that I will need everyday but I will have it when the need arises. There is nothing particularly heavy duty about this wrench. It is made of a thick plastic and only time will tell how the temperature and torque stresses will effect the material. My guess is that a perfect combination of both will cause material fatigue and the wrench will crack.

Here is to hoping it doesn't. In the meantime, I will use this and keep my eyes out for a better version.

This is a plastic wrench for opening oxygen tanks. For the price it is decent. Unfortunately it doesn't have the ring that the metal ones have at the end that can be used for tightening or loosening the flowmeter. On the other hand it is MRI-safe.

Great for an EMT or emergency responder that requires the use of oxygen. Very solid heavy gauge metal and should likely last forever if it doesn't rust first. In a few years I may rub some oil on it. I am happy with my purchase.

Valerian Root 2000mg Herbal Sleep Formula, 120 Capsules

Valerian is a great product but this is not 4 times stronger than the less expensive brand that I can purchase locally for much less money. I tried several doses, but got just as much relief from the less expensive brand.

I have depended on Valerian Root for some time now. I have some major health problems, and at times can be very disruptive for normal sleep patterns. I have severe anxiety, and without this product I wouldn't be able to go to sleep and stay asleep. I have tried other products, but I found with most other sleep aids that I would have nightmares. I don't have that problem with Valerian Root. I especially like the fact that it's an herbal remedy. With regular over the counter sleep aids I would wake up feeling sluggish the next day. With Valerian Root I don't feel like I'm in a fog the next day, and I still have the energy I need. I especially liked the price, because I would have paid a lot more at a store for this same product.

Valerian root is occasionally necessary for my partner -who suffers from insomnia -to get to sleep. We've tried this product, slightly cheaper ones from the local grocery store as well as pricey liquid caps. This one works about as well as the one from the local grocery store, which leads me to agree with a previous reviewer that it is not four times as strong.

They do have a stronger scent than the other Valerian root pills we've tried; an unpleasant scent is not unusual with Valerian pills, though.

Ultimately, my partner favors the liquid ones, which take effect faster and seem to have a stronger impact. I have over 3/4 the bottle left and wont buy it again, but it's still a good product. If you can't find anything cheaper, this one is fine. The seller shipped quickly and the price is fair.

Far Infrared Mat Waterproof Full Body Infrared Therapy Mat

I've had the queen sized version for about a week. I set it at a low level heat (about 3 or 4) and sleep on it with just a thin cotton sheet over the mat (as is recommended). Every night now I am sleeping on it and I haven't even tried using it for a short time on the higher heat settings yet (I should do that), but I am so happy with my sleep experience that I haven't gotten around to the higher heat levels yet. Before I bought it I wasn't sure if it would be good or not, but since my experience with other far infrared products has been very good (so far I've always been extremely happy that I've bought them) I took the leap and got this unit and so far I am extremely glad that I did. The ceramic buttons are not as comfortable as a soft mattress to sleep on, but the wonderful mild heat more than makes up for that and very soon I forget about the ceramic buttons and I relax into the heat. It is so relaxing that I expect it must be doing good things for my health. The more time I spend on it the more relaxed I get. Most of my life I have been pushing my body to do more and more and I think I pretty much stressed out my body and forgot how to relax, but now I am exploring the benefits of relaxation and heat. So far this heat mat has turned out to be better than I had hoped for. It remains to be seen how durable and long lasting it will be, but it looks to be well made and I am hoping that it will give me many years of constant use. Since my review is so glowing let me state that I am just a private person and that I have no affiliation or connection with any sellers or manufacturers.

I bought the queen-sized version of this mat over eight years ago, and it still works great. I bought it because I have hypo-thyroidism and my body temperature gets very cold at night. I also have rheumatoid arthritis. At first, I tried putting it on our bed, but the hard discs are so uncomfortable to sleep on. I tried all kinds of mattress pads, sheepskin covers, etc., but I could not stand the feel of the hard discs against my hips and shoulders. However, The gentle heat is so wonderful, especially in the winter. What I have done now is I have put this on the bed in our guest room, and I use it to take naps or to just unwind. I lay on it for 30 50 minutes. It is so relaxing and I feel the heat going right into my joints. It is not a surface heat like a heating pad or electric blanket, and it does not make the blankets or mattress warm. Rather, it penetrates into the body and heats it up from the inside. It is a wonderful technology and I believe this particular company makes an excellent quality product I really shopped around before I invested in this. However, I am giving it four stars instead of five because it is so uncomfortable as a bed mattress. I'm sure this smaller version advertised here is great for massage tables, and even couches. But if you need a really soft mattress to sleep on, like I do (or my arms and feet go to sleep), then you will have to use this on something other than your bed.
