Lewis N. Clark Comfort Eye Mask

This is a great eye mask, and I've owned many. The usual problem with eye masks is that they don't conform to the face, and thus let light in, particularly at the bottom. The flaps are flimsy and the velcro just doesn't do the trick in keeping the mask tight to your face.

This eye mask solves both of those. The connector at the back isn't velco, it's the real thing. It's not a cheap connector. And although I was worried because the lower part of the mask was heavier, I see they had to do this to block light. Unlike the expensive Sharper Image mask I bought, the heavier area is still very thin and doesn't cause a problem when I sleep on my side or face (yes, I often wake up face down, and not on the pavement.)

If your intention is to own a TOTALLY light blocking eye mask that won't be uncomfortable in different sleep position, well, this is it. And I'm darn anal about my eye masks.

I've tried a number of eye masks, some significantly more expensive than this, but this is the only one I use. The strap is thin and soft enough to stay comfortable even when I sleep on my side, and the mask itself is nice and soft, stays on fairly well, and does its job of blocking out light. Unbeatable, especially for the price.

I'm one of those people who cannot have any light or sound when I am sleeping. (BTW, these do not come with earplugs as the description states, at least mine didn't, although that's not what I purchased them for since I already have a good set.) I have used many eye masks over the years but this one is certainly the very best. What I like the most about it is that it's very comfortable and adjustable. I like a very, very, very tight eye mask and this allows me that while always fitting over my face well. I also like it because it's black and that also seems to naturally repel the light because I've used other eye makes in different colors (red and pink) and they tend to almost colorize the darkness. The reason I didn't give it a 5 is because some very little light sometimes manages to creep in. But other than that it really is perfect. And the price is excellent. I've paid more than 10 times this for something that wasn't even half as good!

This mask is nice and soft and thick and comfortable, but like other masks I have tried, light tends to leak through the bottom of the mask. The biggest problem is that the thick sturdy adjustable strap tends to dig into the skin at the top of my ears. If I try to raise the strap higher on the back of my head, it doesn't stay on during the night. So I've given up using it. My husband had the same problem with it.

Conair Big Curl Foam Rollers, 9 Count

These curlers are like the ones mom used on us 20 years ago... only bigger. I've used them twice, this time (shown in pictures) with mousse, damp hair rolled overnight, shook curls out with my head upside down, and used a teeny bit of bed head "after party" to tame the fly-aways.

I got many compliments on my hair today so I'm pleased, but not overwhelmed. I like being able to curl my hair without heat, it's very easy to use. If your hair gets snagged in a roller, just remove the plastic insert clip and the roller falls right out without tangles.

The Cons: slight indentions where the bar crosses over the roller to hold it in place. Not real noticeable once you've fixed your hair but it's price you pay for an easy & economical system.

I like the bouncy curls, so did my husband and my friends. I bought the rollers for an upcoming beach vacation. I knew I'd be showering at night after the being out all day, and didn't want crazy hair in the morning so I plan to sleep in rollers. Last night while testing these rollers, I positioned them away from the side of my head I tend to lie on and the curls still came out great and I slept fine.

If you want to save your hear from the abuse of very hot curling irons for a while, you've got to give Conair Big Curl Foam Rollers a try! They are just like the foam rollers that were around when I was a kid, but much larger.

For me, the best way to use them is on already dry hair. (Unless you're planning on sitting under a bonnet dryer, which is kind of inconvenient.) Section off your hair, start wrapping from the middle of the section, and be sure to use enough tension in your wrapping to give your curl some bounce.

Depending on your hair type and the look you are going for, you might want to use gel or balm after shampooing. One way to make the curl take faster is to aim your hairdryer on each rolled section just long enough to warm it up. As the hair cools, you're getting some nice curl and wave. The longer you leave them in, of course, the tighter the curl will be.

Personally, I really don't recommend these for use on wet or damp hair, because it will take forever to dry wrapped up in foam rollers. A great way to use them is just placed strategically in your hair to refresh your style that's going limp from your previous styling. You just have to experiment with them to get the perfect effect that you'd like! After you try them, you'll probably want a second pack to make narrower sections.

I have bone straight, layered Asian hair down to the middle of my back, and these curlers do create some long lasting curls without damaging heat. Due to the thickness and length of my hair, I bought an extra pack and used all of them, but initially I got some fairly impressive results with a single pack, though they were waves more than curls and didn't last quite as long.

To use them, I section off almost-dry hair (damp hair doesn't dry out very well, even overnight), spritz it with touch of hairspray, and roll the hair up to my scalp. I then put a slumber cap over the whole mess (it amazingly fits over my giant head and 18 large rollers) and sleep in it. I've tried this without the slumber cap and found it to be pretty essential, as the rollers will sometimes come undone and then I'm left with a few straight locks of hair. While it's a long reach to call these "comfortable" to sleep in, it is possible and a few well placed squishy pillows will help.

In the morning, I'll carefully unroll them, shake out the curls and comb them lightly through with my fingers, and finish with a little more hairspray. If I get a lock or two of hair that was a bit too damp take the curl, I generally just touch those up with a curling iron. It rarely happens, but it's an easy fix. I get BIG, voluminous hair in the mornings, and at the end of the day it mellows out to a very full, wavy style much like one would get if one spent an hour curling their hair with a flat iron(to get those stylish "beach waves" look that's popular in Hollywood now.)

These rollers are a lot more comfortable to sleep in then hard rollers and gave me the style I wanted. But only nine rollers come in the pack. The rollers are large but it still wasn't enough for all my hair. I don't have long thick hair and found that I could have used at least five extra so you may want to order a extra pack. I guess you could put a lot more hair on each roller but then it wouldn't be completely dry by morning and I don't have time for that.

Twinlab Calcium Citrate

It was impossible to tell from the description how much calcium citrate was in each capsule. It turns out there is 150mg each so I have to take 8 of them to get the recommended dose. This bath oil was carried over 5000 miles in my luggage so it could be utilized during our overseas honeymoon. It was worth the minor inconvenience, as it provided some amazing, eternal memories that will always be cherished.

The oil has a very nice mellow, floral fragrance; it wasn't medicinal smelling and didn't smell like artificial chemicals. The fragrance proved to have aroma-therapeutic qualities.

First, not everything works for everyone so some will not like it. Second, it's common sense to not mix meds and to check what side affects can be before taking anything. You can die from an OD of Vitamins. Everything affects everyone differently. I've taken this for a while now off and on for those times when I'm stressed or can't fall asleep. It works fine for me. It also makes me a bit queasy if I try to stay up past the 1hr mark. I tested this and it seems it a side affect meant to force you to sleep before that point. I do end up a little groggy if I didn't have a full 8hrs and woke up before.

I have also taken ZMA which is mostly Zinc. This can't be taken with certain meds (as anything else since you can't take vitamins with some meds). It works fine and I sometime do a half dose of each together. Which depending on my state can be better.

In general, avoid drinking liquids an hour before bed. Don't eat for 2 hours before bed. Go to bed hungry (you don't want to be stuffed or starving; leave room for desert). Avoid sugars, chocolate, vitamin C a few hours before bedtime. Cut back on the coffee and drink it early and not on an empty stomach. Warm milk with honey, hot herbal (no caffeine) tea, as well as yogurt can help. Avoid TV, computers and video games at least an hour before as it overstimulates the brain and the senses. Try reading a book instead. Lighting also plays a role, dimmed lights and darkness start the body into night mode. Also, if taking allergy meds (most such as Zyrtec which can make you drowsy), take it at night. This way it's in your system, you're on a schedule and the effects helps you sleep.

The large rollers snap off from both ends as I'm putting them on. Smaller one's are more sturdy. The satin on the rollers is really cheap and begin shedding off the sides from day one and is kind of slippery as you try to put them on. Hair slides off easily so you have to hold real tight when applying them. The satin isn't going to last. They should have added seams to the satin. Using the small rolers gives gorgeous curls. And NO, it's not like sleeping with pillows all over your head. I don't care what anyone says, sleeping with rollers is very uncomfortable feeling.

Izunami Tourmaline Ceramic

I purchased this Izunami 450 Tourmaline Ionic Ceramic Flat Iron 1 inch here on Amazon from this very company. BEWARE You have a 3 week warranty if you purchase this item from this company.

I had this iron for 4 months when one morning while ironing my hair it blew up. Literally in my hair, it melted my hair on one side of my head. I had to go get 6 inches cut off my hair. Now this was not a user error, this product simply overheated and blew up while in my hair.

I sent the product, the original receipt, and the warranty card filled out to Izunami. A customer service lady called me from the company and said this iron was not covered by a warranty because I did not buy it from a authorized dealer. The laughable offer she gave me was to take the $89 I paid for it from this company and subtract it off of the $207 the item should have cost me. Yes, that was her offer to a customer who had all the original box, the original receipt, and the warranty card! Nevermind the fact that there product blew up and I had to cut my hair off...that she didn't even care about at all!

I asked to speak to her supervisor...she said "I don't have one". I am the only customer service rep. for this company. She also said to make sure when addressing anything to there company at 83 Harbor Rd. Port Washington, New York 11050 to make sure to write Izunami at the top because this is also a residence. Here is the customer service number 516-883-7756 if you don't believe me call for yourself!

This company is a very small company who has no idea what the word customer service means, nor do they stand behind there product. I repeatedly told this lady that this product came in a sealed new box with there warranty card....she did not care. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT she said no one on AMAZON is authorized to sell this and it will not be covered by there warranty. So you have 3 weeks to find out if this iron is not defective in any way and you can get your money back, otherwise forget it! If only it had blown up a little sooner I might not be out $89!

UPDATE! 10/05/2011 Amazon gave me a full refund of my money paid for this iron today. I think Amazon has gone over and above customer satisfaction....this faulty product should have been covered by the company that made it! Either that or on that nice little HASSLE FREE ONE YEAR WARRANTY card that comes with this iron, they need to put a disclaimer about buying it from a authorized dealer on it. This straightener is fantastic. I have been using cheapy ones for a long time, and decided to pay the extra for a great one. It is worth every penny. It comes in this fancy box, which is nice if you ever want to store it, which I won't be. I use it everyday.

When you turn it on it beeps at you and less than a minute later it beeps again to tell you it's ready -so fast! And since it takes only seconds to heat up, you don't have to worry about it not being hot enough to do a whole head of hair. I have very long hair, so using the cheapy ones that don't get hot enough in the first place, and then having to wait while it heats back up after I did half my hair took a long time. This one cut my styling time down a bunch, plus it looks a lot better! Like having a great hair day, every day!

FYI: In the package it says to make sure your hair is dry before using it, and I have attempted to style it while just slightly damp, and it doesn't work very well.

I owned the Izunami straightener for about 3 and a half weeks. I thought I had found the best straightener in the world. I bragged about it to friends and my hairdresser. It worked great and my hair was perfect in half the time of my other straighteners (I have owned many). After about 2 weeks I noticed the straightener was no longer getting hot on one side. I turned it up to check out if it was working and tried it on a strip of my hair. The strip turned light and was totally burned! In all my years of straightening my hair and all the products and appliances I have used (hair straighteners, curling irons etc.) this has never happened. I turned it on one more time just to see what it did, (not that I would have chanced burning my hair again) and it starting beeping repeatedly whatever that meant. I returned it to Amazon today and in the future I'm going to be more careful about which straightener I use.

What can I say, I just received my izunami 1 inch flat iron today and already used it..this iron has just worked wonders on my hair. I just LOVE it!! At first I wasn't going to spend $200+ on a flat iron but then I saw the other reviews and said umm I would like to see if it really does work and the icing on the cake was I can purchase one for just $79.50..great buy and my head flipped..I have to get it and I'm so glad I did. Bought for girlfriend. Mask is adorable, but it fits kind of awkwardly. She said the black bead on the elastic was uncomfortably pressed against the pillow. Also, the elastic hooks around your ears rather than the back of your head.

I bought this for my girlfriend and it is very, very cute. The only thing is that it hooks behind the ears, which is just odd. It looks just like the picture and is made of standard materials, nothing fancy. It's a very cute, simple mask though, and I am happy with it.

Unique E is a very powerful vitamin E. I have done a lot of research on vitamins and supplements so I know what I am talking about. So far I am winning the battle with cancer but the first time I just about did not. This time I am taking charge and it looks like I am winning because I just had a checkup and the cancer that was there 4 months ago, is gone now. This product's website says that if you take their 2 E products you'll be getting all all 4 tocotrienols and all 4 tocopherols yet the label of this their tocotrienols product says it has delta-T3 (90%) and gamma-T3 (10%). Where are the alpha and beta tocotrienols? It is confusing.

I have read that alpha tocotrienol has particular benefits but it seems like this product has none of that at all. "Each beef softgel capsule contains High-Delta and Gamma Delta-Gold® Tocotrienols derived from the Annatto Bean and contains the highest concentrates of tocotrienols at 125 mg per gel capsule."

The capsule is the tiniest I have seen which I really like. I've been cutting mine open and eating the contents. A strange taste lingers for a while afterwards (unlike other milder tasting tocotrienol products I have had before) but it isn't too bad.

Until the issue with this product only having two of the four tocotrienols is cleared up though I am going to go back to the Carlson's Tocotrienols product which is also very pure and which clearly lists the exact amounts of all four tocotrienol dosages on the label.

This product would also be better in a 180 capsule count rather than just 60, to save on plastic a bit.

I have to say I'm also not a fan of some of the very overstated claims and hype on the Unique E website which imply theirs is the only safe and effective product to take. Carlson products are also very good, and very similar, and their labelling is better and clearer as well without use of vague terms like 'proprietary blend' which set my warning bells ringing just a bit.

UPDATE: I've contacted the company that makes this and they have confirmed that yes, this product does only contain two of the four tocotrienols. So that wasn't any type of misprint and it seems this is a poor choice of tocotrienols product as it contains only 2 of the 4 types.
