[Magic Collection] 21" Extra Large Elastic Band Satin Sleeping Cap - Black

[Magic Collection] 21' Extra Large Elastic Band Satin Sleeping Cap - Black
  • Black, Satin Sleep Cap.
  • Breathable and comfortable elastic band.
  • Extra Large 21" size to accommodate curlers/rollers.
  • Keeps hair in place and helps to prevent breakage during sleep.

I ordered four of these caps. The caps feel satin-y and they are extra large (I ordered extra large). My hair is lengthy so the larger size will give good coverage without pinching my ears and forehead. And, I don't want to pull on my hair when I change positions in a sleep state. Also, sleeping on cotton pillowcases tends to dry your hair out. With this type of cap, I can allow the natural oils in and leave-in conditioners put into my hair to remain there.

The seller got them to me pretty quickly and they arrived in a professionally packaged mailer. I would definitely use this seller again and recommend to others.

fits great with rollers on my hair. It does leave a little line on my forehead from the elastic but it goes away.

Schiff Melatonin Ultra. 300 Tablets. 3mg Melatonin + 25mg L-Theanine + 25mg GABA + Chamomile & Valer

Schiff Melatonin Ultra. 300 Tablets. 3mg Melatonin + 25mg L-Theanine + 25mg GABA + Chamomile & Valerian ExtractsMelatonin has been one of my main weapons in an arsenal against insomnia for many years now. Back when I first discovered it I used to use it with a variety of other relaxation supplements separately. Not only was that cumbersome but also rather expensive. Melatonin blends like this one have been around for some time now. Just about all of them carry the same ingredients that include herbs like Gaba, Chamomile, and Valerian. All of these are popular ingredients that are well known for their relaxation and stress relieving properties. Normally I use 10 mg in two of the 5mg strength tablets of melatonin when I am using it straight, for my insomnia is a life long affliction that is apparently not going to ease in my older age. This Schiff blend is 3mg per tablet, but two of these at bedtime has proven to be quite effective for me with the addition of the extra ingredients. And, like all melatonin based supplements I have tried, this Schiff blend is no different in that it takes a while to work on me. I average 45 min to an hour to get sleepy enough to drop off on most nights. But it so far has never failed me. Every time I have taken this blend I have felt the relaxation and ease of anxiety ingredients working, as well as finally getting sleepy enough to turn off the lights and join la la land. I can't say that this keeps me asleep all night all the time, but in its defense I truly believe that nothing but a heavy prescription med could manage that with me. Suffice it to say I like this blend and find it very effective in both relaxing me and putting me to sleep in a resemble amount of time. One last observation, like just about all vitamins, herbs, and health supplements malatonin and blends like this come in a wide variety of prices, all of them promising to be the purest and best. I can't attest to that claim in many other supplements, but malatonin is something I have come to buy in the cheapest form I can find, simply because I have never noticed any difference in its performance in any higher priced brand. No matter how you feel about melatonin either straight or in a propitiatory blend, this Schiff Ultra at 300 tablets for around $8.50, (at the time if this writing) is a good bet price wise. It's even cheaper than some other brands of straight melatonin in lower quantities. I highly recommend this Schiff Ultra for both its price, and effectiveness. Pleasant dreams.. : )

Before I bought this product I did some research (google "may clinic" "Melatonin" for great information), and I highly recommend anyone considering this product do the same. It is sold over-the-counter in the U.S. but it is a prescription drug in many other countries including Canada and should not be used by everyone. I also looked up the other active ingredients L-Theanine and GABA, both of which promote sleep and reduce stress and are largely considered safe. The reason I started taking this product is several-fold: First, I am trying to quit drinking. I am not an alcoholic, but I find it hard to relax in the evening without having a few cocktails. Second, I suffer from a lot of anxiety. I don't know why, but it seems to get worse as I get older. I just worry about everything and when I a trying to sleep I have a hard time because of this feeling of "impending doom", well, that's the best way I can describe the feeling. There is no rhyme or reason to it. And finally, I just seem unable to get a full night's sleep anymore. I dread night-time because I know I will be alone with just me and my anxious thoughts. So I started with one pill, and it nocked me out. I don't remember any dreams, and I woke up very groggy. I felt fuzzy and dizzy all day and I was unale to concentrate on anything. The next night I took 1/2 pill, and I had the same results though not so severe. Then I started taking 1/4 pill and that seems to be the perfect dose for me. B.t.w., I am a 37-yr-old female, and I weigh about 170lbs. So I am now taking 1/4 pill about two hours before I have to go to bed. I usually take it with dinner, and by 9pm I am yawning and ready for sleep. The difference between taking the pill and not taking the pill is that when I lay down to go to sleep I don't have all that anxiety and feelings of impending doom. I sleep soundly throughout the night and I have very long vivid dreams. The dreams have actually been a very cool side effect because they are like movies. I'll wake up through half the dream because of my cat walking on me, then I'll go back to sleep and the dream will resume. The dreams have been pleasant. When I wake up I feel a little bit fuzzy but about 10 minutes after being awake I feel really, really great. My mood is uplifted, I don't have a bunch of anxious feelings, and I feel energized. If I remember, I will report back in about a month to see if these positive effects are lasting, and if I need to up my dose in the future.

I have used the Schiff Melatonin Plus for several months with very good results. I thought I would "upgrade" to the Ultra. It took a few weeks of upset stomachs to make the connection that the Ultra does not agree with me. I see no added benefit as a sleep aid the Plus actually worked better. I tend to wake up between 2 and 3 a.m. every night using this. I did not with the Plus. Everyone is different. I had read in reviews that this can cause stomach issues but didn't think it would impact me. I was incorrect. I am switching back to the Plus.

ok first of all, these pills work different for everyone, we all have different things going on in our lives that may prevent us from sleeping, but for me they work great. Ive never found any better pills then these. I wake up with energy feeling so damn good and i just spring out of bed when i wake up and it's so awesome! i have so much trouble sleeping but i take 2 of these pills and i fall asleep easily in about 10 minutes which is a miracle for me because i usually roll in bed for hours and hours. Guys try them please! its worth it! i also gave some to my girlfriend and the next day i asked her how she woke up from them and she said she woke up with energy too. We usually only sleep 4 or 5 hours a night.. when i get the chance to sleep for 8 hours, you will feel like a freaking KING. its totally worth the try guys. :) sorry for bad grammar, just trying to get this review done fast

Ultra Highest Density Memory Foam Sleep Pillow

Ultra Highest Density Memory Foam Sleep PillowI bought this pillow almost a year ago. It has an inner (non-removable) liner as well as a terrycloth cover. It's well made and has shown no sign whatsoever of any deterioration. Since purchasing the pillow, I have never awoken with any kind of soreness or stiffness in my neck (this used to happen sometimes with a regular pillow). This pillow is firmer than the cheap ones available at local stores, but I think it is much better. I would recommend this pillow to everyone.

When I bought this pillow, I thought I was buying a very comfortable pillow (due to my experience with memory foam stuff). However, this pillow is far from comfortable. I guess this pillow is only made for people that sleep looking up, but I tend to sleep to the sides as well as looking up. The pillow is pretty hard and due to its shape, sleeping to the sides is very uncomfortable.

Buy Ultra Highest Density Memory Foam Sleep Pillow Now

This pillow has potential. But, it's a shame that it's so small. Perhaps that's by design? Dunno. But I had to put the flattest extra pillow I could find underneath it, and then it was pretty decent. I don't find it a problem sleeping on my side -in fact, it's rather comfortable. Would I recommend it? I wish it were bigger. Maybe the pillow wishes I were smaller. Just don't throw away your flat pillows...they'll come in handy with this one.

When I began waking up everyday with a stiff neck and headache, I knew it was time for a new pillow. In the past, I have only purchased cheap ones that last, at best, a year. This time around, I decided to go all out. I have not been disappointed. I have never slept so soundly.

I ordered the pillow for my neck pain which was getting better by day with physical therapy. I was very excited when it finially arrived yesterday. Unfortunately, this pillow is too big for me; I am 5'5 and weigh 125 pounds. The foam is also too hard. I could not sleep comfortably either on my back or on my side. My neck pain came back stronger plus an extra sholder pain that I didn't have before. It is probably made to work for someone bigger.

HappyLight Compact Energy Lamp

HappyLight Compact Energy LampNOTE: An update is posted below this review.

ORIGINAL REVIEW, POSTED SEPTEMBER 10, 2012

I can't judge how well this light serves its purpose until winter comes. For now I'll give my initial impressions, with an update to follow.

What you're paying for breaks down to the following:

1)One 26 watt 10,000 hour Natural Spectrum bulb. [Replacement bulbs currently $14.95.]

2)A base for the bulb, with a cord. The on/off switch is on the cord.

3)A diffuser that fits onto the base, to soften and spread the light from the bulb.

That's it. Pretty basic. If you already have a light fixture that can accommodate this kind of bulb, you could save yourself some bucks and just buy a Natural Spectrum bulb.

On the other hand, there are some advantages to this little HappyLight. It's compact, easy to move around, and doesn't take up much space. You can fit it onto just about any surface, even a cluttered one. It's lightweight, so you could even take it to work with you and bring it home in the evening. The diffuser is nice to have, so you're not blinded by a bare bulb, and it makes the unit aesthetically pleasing.

As for the light itself, proceed with caution until you find the right level of use for you. Read all of the instructions carefully. Learn from my mistake and save yourself some misery.

The instructions say to pretest your sensitivity by starting with 10 minutes in front of the lamp. If you feel any discomfort, you're supposed to discontinue use and consult a doctor. After the pretest I didn't feel any discomfort, so later that day I used the light again for a little longer while reading. That night I did not sleep AT ALL! Not a wink. I had had no caffeine or other stimulants that day, so it was the HappyLight that caused the wakefulness.

Right now I'm using the HappyLight for just a short period every day -maybe 15 to 20 minutes. It's a good idea to increase the time gradually as stated in the instructions. Then if you feel any agitation you can cut back on usage.

I do find that the light makes me more energetic, but so far I don't detect a change in mood. I live in the PNW, where winters are dark and drippy, so I'm hoping for improved mood in the dead of winter. I'll update my review and possibly adjust my rating in a few months.

UPDATE, DECEMBER 29, 2012

It's now the dead of winter, and the final verdict on this light is that I cannot use it for more than 20 minutes in one day. I usually cannot use it for two days in a row. Every other day works pretty well. I've tried several times working up to 25 or 30 minutes in a day, and I have spent some restless nights. I've been very careful to use the HappyLight early in the day, so it won't interfere with my sleep patterns, but any use over 20 minutes keeps me awake for hours after I go to bed. No matter how tired I am, I just can't fall asleep. I should reiterate that I do not use caffeine or other stimulants, so there are no other factors contributing to wakefulness.

So, twenty minutes is my limit, which may explain why the light does nothing for my mood. The instructions say to use it for one to two hours per day, and it may take that amount to provide the "happiness" benefit. Clearly I'm more sensitive to this light than other people, but the only way to find out if you're sensitive is to give it a try.

I've been suffering from SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) for over 10 years now, and it gets worse with each passing winter. However, I am not clinically depressed. For people who ARE seriously depressed, the HappyLight could make a big difference. That energizing, motivating effect might be just what you need to help you get out of bed and get through your daily routine.

I'm staying with my original rating of three stars, for what little benefit I'm able to get from the light.

Oh lordy, I have spent most of my summer in a damp, dark basement here in the rainy Pacific Northwest and the Happylight Sunshine Supplement Light System has been my salvation. I have been refinishing furniture downstairs and I have found this light to help me in all kinds of ways.

First, it illuminates the room beautifully so I am able to see the grain of the wood I am working with and it helps cut off any glare from the varnish or sanding I am doing. I have been so happy during my work sessions downstairs I kind of feel like the Shoemaker's elves. I'm not sure if it's the light that is improving my dispostition or just the fact that I can now better see (without glare.) Either way, it's a win-win situation.

In addition, it is highly portable and provides an intense, yet not-too-direct source of lighting. I simply move it around to shed light on whatever portion of wood that I am working on. In the meantime I am getting a full dose of much-needed Vitamin D without having to leave my man cave.

I plan on buying another of these lights to take to my worksite once the rain starts. It has been an exceptionally sunny summer here in the Portland area, but I know that it won't last much longer. The HappyLight is my new favorite thing. How did I ever survive all these years without it?

I have used several light devices over the years, with good results at home. I had thought of getting one for my desk at the office, but resisted it, due to price concerns.

This unit is basic, and just what I was looking for, in my....ahem....not always "happy" office. I am in a cube , with very limited natural light in the winter it is really depressing you come to work in the dark, you leave in the dark, blah, blah, blah.

I think it took about 3 days of use and I DID feel a bit more energy, and a BETTER mood. People in the office were amused, and a few wanted to give it a try.

The HappyLight was allowed to go "on vacation" to several other desks, and people liked it well enough to get one for themselves! That alone speaks well for the product, I think.

As an aside, many people are low on vitamin D, and lamps of this nature can help with that, too.

I think it helps with concentration, and one's mood in general.

Verilux is a top brand, and is trusted for quality this might be the perfect gift for someome who is hard to buy for, or better yet for yourself. Like the song says, ..."Don't Worry Be Happy".

Having lived in sunny locations most of my life, I frankly thought SAD Syndrome was one of the silliest "disorders" I had ever heard of...until I moved north for a year due to work. The hills/mountains blocked the sunshine resulting in a late sunrise and early sunset. Combined with snow and what felt like a never-ending series of grey days, I soon became melancholy, constantly fatigued and downright "blah".

After several weeks, it became so bad my spouse suggested I take a little break and go visit friends/family in Florida. Within days, I felt like my normal self and was back into a normal rhythm and function. Upon my return, all was well for a short period of time but soon I was deep into another "funk"...this time worse than the last. My sleep cycle was off, my energy level flatlined and productivity was dismal. I went back to Florida for the holidays and viola...back to normal. When I returned, it was the same story...no energy, moody, low productivity, poor sleep cycle. It was then an old-timer neighbor told me I had "cabin fever" and my spouse suggested it was SAD Syndrome.

By the end of a 3rd trip, even I was convinced and had to eat crow...that silly sounding acronym was absolutely ruining my life. By that point, I simply couldn't afford to keep traveling back and forth. Unfortunately, these lights didn't exist back then...job or no job...I relocated back to a sunny destination vowing never to return to the dark, cold "north".

Now, not only did I learn a very valuable lesson about scoffing at what I clearly did not understand but I began to realize that it impacted me more than I realized. Even today, living in sunny Florida, I'm subject to reduced productivity during the rainy season. Day after day after day of overcast skies tend to make me slow and sleepy...nothing like the experience while living up north but sufficient to lower productivity so when this came up, I jumped at the opportunity to try it out.

When it arrived, I was thrilled by the small footprint and downright astonished by the brightness! My goodness this thing is bright! I own a floor lamp designed for crafting by the same company (it's been going strong for at least a decade!) but that is nowhere near as bright as this tiny little thing. In fact, it's so bright that I must place it in a location behind me so as to not be blinding while working.

All in all, a powerfully bright little lamp with a small footprint.

I have been interested in SAD (seasonal affective disorder) and noticed that I have a mild case of this. I think a lot of us have our metabolism slow down during the winter. I suspect it is a hibernation reflex that many animals have too. I used to think the hibernation was about bears that go to sleep for a very long time, but there seems to be a kind of milder hibernation where you slow down your metabolism and still function. Our society seems to put pressure on us to function at the same level regardless of which season we are in, working the same number of hours, or even more hours during Xmas rush and similar holiday events. This seems to lead to a mild depression or a kind of winter blues. I find, too, that something similar happens even in the summer when I spend too much time in front of the computer and do not go out as much as I should.

I found that when I got the Verilux Happy Light that I plugged it in and could feel my brain revving up in a good way. I could even feel it producing some new chemicals, as if some of the brain's chemical synthesis is light dependent. I theorize that there is something about the bluish white light that helps the brain to synthesize whatever it needs here. The change was not a dramatic one, but a noticeable one. It was definitely a mood lift and was valued.

In terms of products that claim to do something similar. I found the Go Lite also seems to work about as well. I like the Go Lite having a digital timer to regulate the dose and give a useful measured dose of the bluish light. I gave my Go Lite to my brother who feels it and needs it, because his allergies sometimes prevent him from going out in the summer around here (otherwise a pollen hay fever attack). He finds that he does about two to three times a day.

The Verilux Happy Light has a small advantage over the Go Lite. The Go Lite uses an array of LEDs that are a little harsher to look it (you are not supposed to look at them). The Verilux Happy Light has a white plastic casing around the light that softens the bulb inside. It is still very bright and it is still worth not looking at it directly, but if you do, it is easier on the eyes. The Verilux Happy Light is therefore more suitable for keeping it on for a longer period of time.

I also like that the Verilux Happy Light (at last!) is a relatively small size. It is easier to fit on my desk (a little off to the side) than some of the bigger and bulkier ones. The Go Lite is also smaller (it is smaller than the Verilux Happy Light but has almost the same footprint), because it was designed to be portable, for people who want the benefit of light therapy while traveling. The Verilux Happy Light, while having about the same footprint on a table, is a bit thick and about 2.5 times taller than the Go Lite. As far as being travel size, it is passable, but not really designed for this purpose. I do not know if the bulb is meant to be bumped around in a suitcase either. When I shake the unit, the bulb does wobble a little. However, the Verilux Happy Light is easy to plug and unplug, and move from room to room.

Although this is somewhat unrelated to its main purpose, I did find, as a bonus, that the Verilux Happy Light serves as a decent indoor lighting for my small digital camera. It normally does very poorly indoors, but the Verilux Happy Light seems to give enough light to take some decent pictures. I am not sure if this would be something useful for a professional photographer (who probably has some better equipment for this purpose), but it allows me to take some interior photos that I have not been able to do before. I only did a few test shots so far. I may update this review when I do some more serious photo shooting.

Update: Two things. One is that it did help me on a serious photo shoot to get some indoor pictures. The light from the unit is ambient and only mildly directed forward, so it took some time to learn how to position it for optimal lighting. But it worked for me and helped me a lot. I consider this to be a very nice surprise bonus. Two is that when I turned off the unit that my brain had to calm down in a way. The light is a bit stimulating. I would recommend that people who use it try the light in 15 minute doses like the Go Lite is set up by timer to do and maybe consider one hour max (the flier that came with the unit said a two hour maximum, but also encouraged people to find the setting that works best for them). It may be useful to try longer times, but I have a feeling that the smaller doses are probably enough.

NATURE'S WAY, Valerian Root - 180 caps

NATURE'S WAY, Valerian Root - 180 capsI take Valerian root to help me sleep at night and turn off my overactive mind. I like this brand a lot, here's why.

The bottle is big and lasts a long time.

The capsules are clear and you can see the Valerian Root. They're strong and don't break in bottle. Easy to swallow.

Smells strong like herbs, has a very distinct scent you grow accustom to. Tastes like herbs as well. Kind of a bitter herb to me, but they're swallowed so it's only for a second while they're on your tongue.

It says to take three on the bottle an hour before bed. I agree, take them at least an hour before you want to go to sleep so they get into your system. They do not make you drowsy and it's not like a sleeping pill that you can feel it start to work and make you tired. It's more of a calming feeling and maybe just takes edge off at least for me.

If you have a cocktail, which I don't think you're supposed to mix, it will knock you out quick. I don't recommend this at all.

I had surgery a few months ago and Valerian was on the list of items that I could not have a week before and a week after, so talk to your doctor about if you can take this even though it's over the counter. It does not supposed to be mixed with some medicines. SO BE CAREFUL!

Since I'm not on any medications, I like this product and will continue to order it and use it.

I've reviewed this product before, and I use it for sleep after going to rehab for alcohol and drugs (all of them). I am also finding it useful here at a writer's retreat. It seems to counteract the social anxiety I assume I got from my use of narcotics. I love this stuff!

Better Sleep Pillow

Sleep Better Pillow IIWe bought this pillow, at my husband's insistence, and it has been great! My husband has arthritis in both his shoulders and damage to his rotator cuff and since using this pillow his complaints have gone down to zero!!! He sleeps much better and is able to exercise without any complaints of pain. Since using the pillow he very rarely takes any medication for pain. Highly recommended worth the $100!

It's worth every penny! Before I bought this pillow, I would wake up a couple times a week with migraines and neck pain. My neck would actually pop almost every time I switched sides. I knew some, if not all of this could be attributed to my current pillow, so I was desperate to try something new and designed for side/stomach sleepers. I took a chance buying this pillow.

At first use, this pillow seems awkward and pretty hard. it places your head at an angle that you may not be used to, so there definitely is an adjustment period. However, after the first night of use, I woke up with no neck pain and as an added bonus, no stiffness in my arms or shoulders either! I have not woken up with pain or stiffness ever since using this pillow. I also expect that as it breaks in a little, it will just keep getting better and better. It's also nice that it has a removable and washable cover.

Immediately after I began using this pillow my shoulder pain was reduced. I've used it for more than 6-months and I would recommend it to anyone that is having shoulder pain from sleeping on their side. My only complaint is that the zipper broke off of the included pillow case the first time I tried to remove it for washing.

Outside of surgery, I dont think there is anything that will truly keep me from waking up with pain in the morning, but this pillow has made a BID difference for me! I've gone from a huge amount of pain to being able to tolerate the way I feel. It might not sound like a great review but it really is! I didn't think anything could help, and this pillow really has!

It's worth the money and it really is comfortable! :)

Integrative Therapeutics End Fatigue Revitalizing Sleep Formula, 30 Veg Capsules

Integrative Therapeutics End Fatigue Revitalizing Sleep Formula, 30 Veg CapsulesThis formula is amazing! I've tried lots of other herbal sleep aids, but I'd always wake up after a few hours and feel wide awake. I got this one from my naturopath (interestingly, it's a lot cheaper there, though it's so awesome I'd pay the Amazon price if I had to) when my sleep was being disrupted by major stress, and I'm impressed at how well it works. After not getting more than a few hours of sleep a night for months, I slept straight through for 6 or 7 hours and was even able to doze back off for a little while longer. Even better, I don't feel any grogginess at all in the morning.

Also, this might just be in my head, but it seems to have a cumulative effect after taking one every night for about a week, I found that I could skip a couple of days and still sleep just as well. Thanks to this, the 30-capsule bottle actually lasted me about 2 months. Now that my sleep cycle is back on track I just take one occasionally as needed and they still work just as great.

THIS PRODUCT IS WORKING GREAT FOR ME....ONE TABLET AT NITE PUTS ME TO SLEEP....TAKES 15-30 MIN. TO WORK.......

Sound Oasis Sleep Therapy Pillow Speakers

Sound Oasis Sleep Therapy Pillow SpeakersI bought these speakers in order to replace the PillowSonic Stereo Pillow Speaker which I had received last Christmas. My goal was mostly to get something more durable, but I found I like this one better anyway.

The PillowSonic speakers had a rather weak headphone connection which basically fell apart after about 4 months of use. I could deal with that until the cone speakers inside were accidentally crushed. I needed something that could stand up to a little more abuse. The cord on these Sound Oasis speakers seems much thicker and the headphone connector is nowhere near as flimsy. The speaker casings are hard plastic, so they cannot be crushed and ruined.

What I like best about these speakers is the 2 feet of cord between the left and right speaker. This means I can share with my husband, or more often just position each speaker exactly right under each ear. The sound quality is fairly good for a speaker of that size and I don't find I have to by lying right on top of it to hear it clearly.

All in all, these speakers are doing their job better than any others I've tried. Definitely recommended.

Edit on 4/6/10: I stumbled across this item again looking for a gift and just wanted to comment that 1 1/2 years after writing the initial review, my speakers still work perfectly. Durability for the win!

I had a PillowSonic Stereo Pillow Speaker that lasted about a year. It was OK but then it stopped working. This one worked better straight from the box. It was easier to position the 2 speakers under a pillow and they were louder and clearer than the PillowSonic Stereo Pillow Speaker .

update 6/28/2010: The wire to the first speaker broke. Annoying. Lasted about 18 months.

update: 1/1/2011. The wire broke again. Had to disasseble and solder.

The wire breaks at the point that it enters the speaker. It should have been reinforced here. Aftger repair, I added electrical tape to the spot where the wire exits the speaker. I hope this helps.

However if you plan to sleep all night using them they slide around every time you roll over and often the sound cuts out and you most tap or jiggle them to make the sound come back. Be prepared to jiggle them every time you roll over. I bought 2 sets of these speakers and they both do this.

pro's:

nice long, strong cord to the speakers, and between the two.

easy to adjust placement of speakers.

flat, can't feel them under the pillow.

can be used outside of pillows too (during the day).

works thru my tempurpedic pillow.

great price.

husband can't hear it.

con's:

i have to crank up volume to max for SOME files

podcasts can be muffled (spoken voices unclear)

i still hear husband snoring.

i'm still undecided on the brainwave usage (one ear per speaker) because i tend to sleep on my side.

The pros....cord length is ample and the speakers are small enough to fit comfortably under the pillow.

The con.....cannot get enough volume from these guys to be able to hear through a single pillow. I tried attaching the speakers to various audio devices (TV, radio, stereo) and none of them could drive these much beyond a whisper. My wife, who has better hearing than I, agrees.

Life Extension, GLYCINE 300 GRAMS POWDERI am still not quite sure of the dosing... the directions on the package differ from what I heard on Dr. Oz... so am experimenting. But I believe it does deepen the quality of my sleep.

Neither here nor there. Would need to do a long term, double blind, controlled study over decades to see if it works.

IMAK Hand / Elbow Support Size: Universal

IMAK Hand / Elbow Support Size: Universal
  • Cubital Tunnel Syndrome
  • Medial Epicondylitis
  • Sprains/Strains/Tendinitis/Bursitis
  • Tennis Elbow

Due to the fact the plastic insert is completely flat, there is no bend in the elbow. I had a very difficult time trying to sleep with my arms fully extended and completely straight. Also, the lack of a bend made it very easy for the splint to slide right down the arm. Most nights, if I wasn't removing the splint just so I could be comfortable enough to sleep, I'd wake up to find the splint was around my wrist instead of my elbow. Either way, I'd wake up with one elbow bent and numbness in my hand. If I made the splint any tighter, it would be too tight on the arm for circulation.

The cure that solved this problem for me: A heat gun. While holding the plastic insert with pliers, I heated the center of the insert just enough to allow it to bend at the center, and I carefully bend the insert about 20 degrees (if one half of the insert is flat on a table, the other half comes up from the table at a 20 degree angle). This shallow angle provides just enough elbow bend to prevent the splint from sliding down the arm while sleeping, and it also makes the splint much more comfortable to wear. The first night after doing this modification was the first time I woke up with both splints on my arms, and no numbness.

The other issue I have with the plastic insert is that it's too narrow, and it can cause discomfort at the two ends, where it can dig into the wrist and the bicep. This could be improved if they had a wider insert that was molded to fit the curve of the arm, instead of the "flat stick" that it is. Overall, it's a decent product, but I spent weeks trying to learn to wear it at night with no luck, so it was doing me no good until I altered the insert. Hope this review and modification idea is helpful to the other users who reported similar problems.

I have a damaged nerve running from my hand to my elbow. The doctor suggested getting something to keep it straight during sleep. Which this product did. But I found that it did not solve my problem. The only other comment is that it does slide around while sleeping.

Want IMAK Hand / Elbow Support Size: Universal Discount?

This thing is, in my opinion, a flimsy piece of junk. I find it very difficult to place on myself, but perhaps that is because I have a small arm. The small piece of plastic also does not contour to the elbow, and is not enough to maintain a constant position during sleeping. It also slips down continuously.

This is a well made comfortable elbow splint. It does what it is intended to. I will echo a previous reviewer's comment about the plastic splint it comes with forcing the elbow into a completely straight position, however. This is easily mitigated if you carefully heat a spot on the hard plastic splint (say, with a butane lighter) and gently bend it into a 10 or 20 degree angle.

I purchased this item on a recommendation from the orthopod that I saw to get an elbow immobilizer for sleep.

Fitbit Wireless Personal Trainer

Fitbit Wireless Personal TrainerI love my fitbit, but don't buy one! As of October 2011, this model is being replaced by a new model, the Fitbit Ultra, for the same price as the original one.

The Fitbit ultra adds a few features, like an altimeter. But it includes all of the features of the original model, so everything I wrote in my review applies to the new ultra model.

I got my fitbit in early 2010 and have been using it on and off (mostly on) since then. I am very happy with it and highly recommend it. It's an easy and fun way to track your activity levels and estimate calories burned, and it should appeal to fellow gadget lovers.

The device weighs under one-half ounce and clips securely to clothing. I'm paranoid about losing stuff (justifiably so), so I keep mine in a little USB drive holder with a clip.

It has an accelerometer chip, like most smart phones, iphones and other gadgets, which can measure its movement in three dimensions.

At any time during the day, you can push the one little button on the fitbit to display an estimate of calories burned, steps taken, miles walked, and a graphic of a flower that grows more petals as you're more active.

When you're near your computer, plug the included fitbit receiver into a USB port, and the receiver will wirelessly collect data from your fitbit tracker, then send the data to the fitbit website. You use this website for most of your tracking and analysis. (The only software you load on your computer is a driver/client for the receiver that plugs into your USB port.)

I find fitbit very accurate for estimating my walking (number of steps and total distance), calories burned, and activity and intensity levels. While these are just estimates, they're pretty good estimates, and they take into account my age, height, and weight. As the data accumulates over time, you can identify trends and measure progress in your fitness regime.

Some people complain that the fitbit system makes you use its website rather than providing software for your computer. I actually prefer it this way. For one, the website is extremely well designed and easy to use. Second, you don't have to worry about using up your hard drive space (an issue if you use a netbook, ipad, macbook air, or older laptop), and you don't have to worry about downloading updates when the developers issue bug fixes or add new features these just show up at the website without requiring any effort from the user. Third, this way keeps the cost down. Fourth, you can access the fitbit website from any computer with an internet connection.

The website shows graphs of your activity levels and calories burned throughout the day. At this website, you can also enter specific activities you do (like bicycling, working out at the gym, etc). You have to enter these manually, but it is very easy to do so and it's very useful to have a record over time of the specific activities you do.

The website also lets you track your eating. I didn't start using this feature until just recently I thought it would be too much of a bother. However, I see now that the website makes it very easy. For instance, as you start typing a food (whether from the grocery store or a chain restaurant), it'll suggest a bunch of near-matches from its (extensive) database. You can click on one of these near matches, and it'll fill in all the nutritional info. I force myself to be very honest and complete, even when I break down and gorge on unhealthy comfort food. Keeping a record makes me aware of what and how much I eat, and keeps me honest. And I'm less likely to order a desert after dinner if my log shows that I've already eaten a few deserts this week.

You can also wear the fitbit tracker when you sleep (you slip it in a cloth wristband that comes in the fitbit package). In the morning, sync the data from the device to the fitbit website, and it will keep a record of when you went to bed, how long it took to fall asleep, how often you woke up during the night, and what time you woke up. It tells you your "sleep efficiency," which I think is the time spent actually sleeping as a percentage of time spent in bed. I do not find the sleep data as accurate as the other data fitbit measures (like walking and activity level while awake). For example, it'll say you took 8 minutes to fall asleep when you know that you really took at least 20 minutes: if you lay still enough, fitbit thinks you're asleep. Yet, I find the sleep data interesting and useful enough to keep wearing my fitbit to bed every night: with virtually no effort on my part fitbit keeps a record over the long term of how much sleep I'm getting and the quality of that sleep, even if the measurements are somewhat noisy. This allows me to identify trends, and if I get sick or feel tired during the day, I can get a sense of whether it might be due to not getting enough quality sleep.

The fitbit is not perfect and cannot do everything. It cannot tell when you're bicycling, or how hard you're working when you're bicycling. While a little sweat or rain shouldn't hurt it, it's not waterproof and shouldn't be worn when swimming.

But fitbit doesn't promise to do everything. It promises to do SOME things (like estimate how much you walk, how many calories you burn, record your activity level at each time of day and let you identify trends). And it does what it promises very very well, in my experience. The device and the fitbit website are well-designed and easy and fun to use, and fitbit completely lives up to my expectations.

At this time (October 2011), fitbit has tons of very positive user reviews. In its early days, there were a fair number of negative reviews, though, but it seemed to me that most people who were disappointed in the device had unrealistic or misinformed expectations when they bought it. My suggestion to you before you order is: visit the fitbit website, read about what it can do, read the FAQ, and maybe google "fitbit review" and look for some reputable reviews (the WSJ has a good one). Then you will get a realistic sense of what the device can and cannot do, so you can make an informed decision. If you like what you see on the website, I'm pretty confident you will be satisfied like me.

I love my fitbit. If I lost it, I'd replace it immediately. In fact, now that there's a newer version for the same price as the original one, the odds of me losing it seem to have increased a bit. ;-D

I took a look at the FitBit this spring when it was clear that my ultra-budget heart rate monitor was not cutting it at the gym. Interference galore froze the poor thing. Something that is quite painful for those of us...I hope it's not just me....obsessed by numbers. What's my Heart Rate? How many calories have I burned? Give me numbers and not just sweat!

I liked the precision of the BodyBugg and what it had to offer. I did not like the price. Call me cheap. No, really, call me cheap. I could have justified saving up for it if it wasn't for the monthly fee required to use the web tools. That's like buying a car but having to pay extra to see the dashboard. Those two items should go hand in hand. Off the soapbox.

Enter the FitBit. A calorie tracker, pedometer, sleep tracker all in one. Pretty up there on the technology level yet affordable. It's actually a cute little thing without a cumbersome chest strap or arm band or anything else accentuating anything I don't want people looking at to begin with. The bonus was that the web tools are FREE!!

The basics:

The fit bit is 2-inches long and about ½ inch wide. It looks a bit like a money clip. It's black with a fashionable yet gender neutral aqua blue interior.

How it works

The FitBit uses 3D motion sensors similar to those used in the Wii. It has the ability to track steps, miles walked, calories burned, and sleep patterns. The information is automatically transmitted from the FitBit device through the base station and onto the user's website whenever the FitBit is within 15 feet of the base station. Each Fitbit has a unique number so any FitBit can use any base station for transmission. It gives the user an idea of the daily amount of calories expended and level of activity exerted during the day. With online tools it provides a historical view of this data. Food and activity logging online can assist the user in losing, maintaining or even gaining weight.

What the $99 fee includes:

The FitBit clip on device

Base Station/charger with cord that plugs into a USB port

Wrist band for sleep monitoring

An extra clip for use with thick belts.

A website address to go to in order to download the free tracking software necessary in order for the Base Station transmissions to occur. This is a necessary step to use this product. It doesn't take long and it's easy to do. Even I managed to do this properly without blowing up my computer.

Shipping was extra and the product was sent by USPS Priority Mail.

Charging & Battery Life:

The FitBit will stay charged for approximately 10 days. Charging is done of the base station. I usually stick it on there when I shower. The battery life can be seen from the website. It takes about 90 minutes to fully charge the battery when it's fully worn out.

Data Storage:

The data that the Fitbit collects is stored in the device for 10 days. The display data itself renews at midnight in the users time zone (which is set by the user online). The reset does not delete any data not transmitted. It's just to make it more user friendly and efficient. I always hated clearing the data on my HRM so this feature is much appreciated.

Display

The fun stuff is all online. If the user is away from the base station, for work or travel, simply press the button on the FitBit and a pretty blue display will show calories burned, steps taken and miles walked. There is also the image of a growing flower. The longer the stem, the more active the individual has been that day. That is a cutesy feature for a quick activity level check.

Sleep feature

I love this feature. Press the button down for 2 seconds and the word "start " appears. Then put the FitBit in the wrist holder, wrap it on the non-dominant wrist and head to bed. In the morning press the button again for 2-seconds until "stop" appears. At the next data transmission, the website will be updated with sleeping activity. Not only does the data tell you what time you went to bed, how long it took to fall asleep, the amount of time spent in bed, the actual sleep time, but it also shows exactly what times you woke up and how often. The data then gives you a sleep efficiency percentage. It's awesome. Especially for someone like me who has had lifetime sleep issues. I thought it would be hard to remember to start and stop the sleep tracker but it's not. The wrist wrap is a good reminder.

Graphs, data and tracking

On the website there is a space to enter height, weight, gender, goals and stride length. Stride length is easily measured using the water test. Make a puddle of water on cement. Step in it with bare feet and walk forward. Measure the tip of the right big toe to the tip of the left on the footprints. Do this for a few sets and average out the number of inches. Repeat the test with running. This helps the FitBit better count the number of steps taken and miles walked.

This was interesting for me. I walk in quick short steps so I always figured I walked so many miles during the day. Um, not so much. I do take a lot of steps, 10,000+ on most days. But the short stride length makes it harder to hit the big mileage numbers.

The website has lots of cool graphs and comparisons. These cover everything from activity levels to calorie expenditures to weight changes. Lots of fun things to look at and help reach fitness goals. There are privacy features to hid most or all of your profile to pubic and/or forum friends.

Forums

The FitBit Forums are in their infancy right now. There is a decent amount of participation. If I compared it to a party, I would say it would be like small bursts of quality conversations followed by short periods of silence. You won't miss out on too much if you don't check the main forums daily yet much of what does get post is pretty good stuff.

There are also groups set up on the site. This is an easy way to find other s with similar interests. It's also helpful to be able to bounce ideas off others. Not to mention the support this offers for weight loss or whatever fitness goals are made.

There is a nice touch added to the forums and that is a suggestion forum to communicate items the developers should consider for future FitBit upgrades. It's even nicer that replies from the founders are readily seen in this specific forum. These guys read what is suggested and they respond. There is comfort in this. This is a product that has developers who actually care about the quality and satisfaction of their customers. To me, a strong selling point.

What it can't do:

It can't be used for swimming or in the shower. Nor should it be washed worn in any areas where it could get wet. Don't take this to an amusement park and wear it on a water ride. Be sensible.

It might not accurately track EVERY SINGLE thing you do. If you're wearing the FitBit in a shirt pocket and bicycling...it probably isn't going to pick up that activity with 100% accuracy.

It doesn't track heart rate. At first I was bummed about this but when I'm in the middle of some butt kicking cardio, the last thing I want to do is throw off my groove to look at my FitBit. Although it would be nice if there was some type of tracking that could be transmitted to my online profile but not viewed on the device itself. For example, minimum & maximum heart rate and minutes in that zone. Things like that. I can see the graph in my head now.

Without the heart rate feature the calories burned are based on height/weight/gender and not on cardio conditioning. This could possibly lead to a few small inaccuracies. Although, those I've communicated with who use the FitBit in conjunction with a HRM (heart rate monitor) do get similar calorie burned readings on most activities.

It doesn't automatically track food. This is a "Duh". But the user has to remember to go into the site and add the daily food intake. The site is so addicting that this probably won't be a problem. This is the easiest it's ever been to see calories expended vs. consumed. Unless the user is WAY OFF on portion sizes, this feature is close to flawless. If the calories burned are greater than the calories consumed weight loss will occur. If they are close weight will stay stable. If consumption is more than calories burned, gain weight will occur. It's not even a matter of subtracting the difference (unless you are obsessed like me) it's simply a matter of seeing which number is bigger. The food tracking also makes it easier to change unhealthy eating habits.

This is an excellent product. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. At the rate I lose things, I probably will. My ONE HOPE is that reviewing data transmission and graphs remains a free privilege for FitBit owners.

I am a little over a year into my love-hate relationship with fitbit and to be honest, despite be religious in using it and seeing definite benefits, I really can't recommend it to anyone.

In total, I have had six (yes 6.0) fitbits. Here is our tale:

Fitbit one:

I ordered my fitbit from the company web site in December of 2009 and despite a promised delivery date of early January, I received it in late February. I should have taken this was a sign of trouble, but I am apparently a total sucker. Less than a week into owning it, my fitbit began dying during exercise which pretty much defeated the purpose. I contacted customer support and attempted to get help on their forums, both of which were deplorable.

Aside: Fitbit subscribe to a "we reply to every inquiry in 24 hours or less" customer support policy. This sounds great except that it means that they send you an automated message once a day without any actual resolution to the problem at hand. Reply to their email (even if it is mere seconds after you receive it) and you can count on waiting another 24 hours for a response.

After a week of exchanging increasingly frustrating emails, they agreed to send me a replacement.

Fitbit two:

This one shipped remarkably quickly. Unfortunately, it died in similar fashion, never lasting more than 30 minutes at a time from the moment I received it. By early March, after protracted negotiations with my friends in Fitbit customer service, my third fitbit was due to be sent to me.

Fitbit three:

The third one took well into April to be shipped. By April 14, it died in the same fashion as its predecessors. I again had to do the song and dance with customer service: repeating the problem over and over again only to receive canned email responses that suggest I try the same "solutions" that I have tried in previous iterations all the while I supplicate myself in hopes that they will deliver a working version of the product that I paid for. At the end of the day, that winds up being a bit humiliating and maddening. A little over a week later fitbit number four was on its way. For those of you keeping score, I am now a good five months into my fitbit experience and have gotten *maybe* two weeks of use out of the collective lot.

Fitbit four:

I will always look back fondly on good old number four. It served me nobly for three months before kicking the bucket and even survived some protracted athletic endeavors, a feat never achieved by any before. Sadly, by the end of July, it too stopped working.

Fitbit five:

At this point, I am a bit surprised that Fitbit continue to humor me, but they went ahead and sent me number five after number four bit the dust. The demise of number five was entirely my fault. I decided to take a dip in the ocean while on vacation in Mexico and completely forgot that I had it on. Surprisingly, it kept kicking for a good two weeks after the bath, but finally couldn't hold a charge for very long. At this point, it was a matter of principle, so I actually ordered a replacement at my expense (I figured the Fitbit had spent at least the cost of a unit in just shipping me replacements, so I couldn't let this drama end with a mistake on my part).

On a lark, I asked my good buddies in Fitbit customer service if there was any value in sending my soaked Fitbit back to them since it's sitting in the house was a constant reminder of our failed relationship. Astoundingly, despite my full disclosure of having brought this on myself, they offered to send me a replacement. I accepted their offer which means that I now am on number 6 with number 7 (the replacement I purchased) waiting in the wings.

Aside: By now, the customer service seems to have improved quite a bit ( and I say that not because they keep sending me free replacements) my last go round with them resolved my issue in a matter of hours; a significant improvement over the days and weeks it took previously.

Fitbit six:

My sixth fitbit arrived around Christmas 2010 and it has held up thus far (it is now early February 2011).

Despite my many issues, I actually do like the product...when it works. I am a bit of a data junky and it fills a gap that few other products can and requires minimal effort on behalf of the user. Aside from the problems with it not working altogether, I have never had a problem syncing to the web site and the web site is competitive with comparable sites targeting the fitness market (especially now that they have an improved mobile version). I can't say that I do or would use the food tracking portion on a regular basis, but it is passable. The community aspects are nothing more than a forum.

Things are not all rosy even now. We all have our faults and my fitbit does occasionally fail to track my sleep. I can't really explain why, but it is easy enough to fix on the site after the fact. I have also begun to suspect that it may not accurately count strides (which is its raison d'etre, and thus very disconcerting). I used it in conjunction with an elliptical machine which also tracked strides. I have to assume that the elliptical is accurate in stride count based on its design, but when I was done with my workout the count on the elliptical was 2,000 more than the fitbit. That represents a more than 20% margin of error, which is pretty much unacceptable.

Sorry for the long and rambling tale. Perhaps if you had the patience to wade through to this point, you have the patience to deal with this product and the company that makes it. The bottom line is that when you track your activity and set goals you think twice when, for instance, choosing between the stairs and the elevator. Fitbit has definitely helped me make those small changes and to focus on being as active as possible, perhaps that's why I keep coming back.

I purchased a Fitbit on January 29, 2011. I needed something new to keep my fitness routine interesting and thought that a new gadget might do the trick. I was totally blown away by this little techie gadget that I discovered -the Fitbit. After 2 full months, I'm still in love with it. Here's my list of pros and cons:

PRO:

1. Convenience: Unlike previous pedometers I've owned, I don't lose the FitBit, I don't misplace it and I don't have problems with it missing some of my activities. I wear the thing 24 hours a day. During the day, I clip it to my bra and at night, I clip it to the armband that came with the gadget.

2. Accuracy: I've tested it against the distance of my gym's running track it is very accurate and I didn't even have to change the default stride length.

3. Motivation: I've been a fitness nut most of my life, but due to an avalanche of health issues, I had gained quite a few pounds and was really feeling my age. In the year prior to getting the FitBit, I had lost 40 pounds but was getting bored. The FitBit gives me an instant assessment of my daily progress toward my fitness goal. If I'm near the computer I have it synched to, I can go online and instantly see where I am. If I'm out and about, I can click the counter on the Fitbit to see how many steps I have completed and calories burned.

4. More than a pedometer I really love the whole program you get with Fitbit. I used to belong to Weightwatchers so that I could track my fitness activities and my food intake online and on my smartphone. Fitbit offers me the same flexibility and actually has a fairly comprehensive food list, plus the ability to add more of my favorite foods. As a techie, I really like being able to graph my calories in and out and compare to norms for my age and fitness level. Several activities in my regular fitness program cannot be tracked with a pedometer. I swim about 5-7 miles a week and bike about 30 miles/week and I really like that FitBit lets me enter that activity into my overall daily activities I am not limited to the counts from the Pedometer. FitBit keeps me honest though, on the days when walking is my only activity. I have to confess to spending several evenings jogging in place in order to get my steps up!

5. Stores data for days and days (actually I think the FitBit stores it for 30 days). So, if you aren't near the computer you synch it to it will store and sync the data later. I've taken the FitBit on vacation with me with no problems. I've even set it up to synch with other computers when I know that I'm going to be away for awhile and just can't survive without seeing my graphs!

6. Battery life my FitBit has gone for more than 10 days between recharges. I've been VERY impressed.

7. Sleep efficiency this may be the most confusing thing that the FitBit records and I'm not sure that I fully appreciate the explanation. However, I used the function almost every day for two reasons. I've always felt like I had significant sleep latency that is, I'd go to bed but could not get to sleep for a long time. Fitbit has actually re-assured me in that the longest sleep latency that I usually record is 20 minutes (it just seems like hours!). It also tell me how long I've been asleep for an insomniac like me that is important data that I use to try and improve my sleep and increase my target from 6 hours to 7.5. The gadget shows that I wake up a lot and I'm not sure that I quite believe that but, could be an indicator that I should see a doctor and have a sleep study.

CONS -

1. This is a techie's gadget. I didn't find it hard to set up, but I like this stuff and I have used a lot of gadgets over the years. I'm also a healthcare provider and I appreciate the science behind the gadget. I had to re-load the firmware once when it didn't want to synch my sleep data after a vacation. I have synched my FitBit to three different computers.

2. It doesn't have an iPhone app yet. You can use the FitBit mobile site, but getting an actual iPhone App would be an improvement in speed and ease of use especially for logging calorie intake.

3. You can't buy any of the accessories separately. I'm about to wear out my arm band and I'd like to have another synch cradle to attach to my computer at work (I spend more hours at work that I do at home!). However, as mentioned, the FitBit stores your activity data and downloads whenever you are near the synch cradle, so the only downside of not being able to download at work is that instant gratification of seeing my activity reflected on the computer screen.

OVERALL -

I love this gadget. Usually at this point in my relationship with new technology, I've gotten over the initial excitement. I played with my PS3 about 2 weeks, then didn't touch it again for a month. I rely on my iPHone, but don't add much to it anymore in terms of new apps. I look at my FitBit everyday and anytime I'm on the computer, I have the FitBit window to my account open or log in via my smartphone.

Want Fitbit Wireless Personal Trainer Discount?

Overall, I like this little device a lot. It clips easily and securely onto the waistband of my pants/shorts and does a decent job of tracking my steps. The website is a nice complement and the food diary is a plus. Setting it up out of the box is easy. Just follow the instructions to the letter. I see some complaints here about support, but my experience is they respond to posts on the Community section of fitbit.com within a few hours, sometimes less. Email support (support@fitbit.com) is also responsive. If you use this device consistently, I'm confident you will move more and, if you also use the food diary, eat less.

So what's the bug?

The short version:

The tracker sometimes miscalculates distances, and the website provides no way for you to correct the tracked distance.

The long version:

The tracker only counts steps. It knows the difference between a walking step and a running step. It uses one stride length for walking, and another for running, and then uses them in conjunction with step counts to calculate distance. That's fine until you walk more quickly than usual on a particular day. Or you run a little slower than normal another day. Since your stride lengths on these days will probably be greater or smaller than the stride lengths assumed by the tracker, chances are it will under or overestimate your distance. You'll experience this if you walk or run a known distance and notice that the Fitbit records a different distance.

The website does allow you to create a "logged activity" where you specify activity type, start time, duration and distance. So you could create an activity for a 13 mile run that took you 2 hours 10 mins, for example. So, in theory, you just tell Fitbit that while the tracker recorded a 10 mile run from 6:00 to 8:10, you actually ran 13 miles in the same time period. This would be great if your logged distance overrode the tracked distance, but in my experience it does not. Instead, the Fitbit completely ignores the distance you log and continues to use the tracked distance instead.

If I'm missing something obvious, let me know in the comments and I'll be delighted to amend my review.

I've been using this eye cream for three weeks and I have to say that I've already seen a difference, my under eye circles are starting to lighten up and the skin around my eyes is starting to look more plump and moisturized. I expect that over time I'll see better results but I'm already wearing less concealer and wanted to share this product with others in my situation.

I've been using this eyecream for about 2 months now and i can honestly say that i've seen a difference. i've always had dark under eye circles and now being in my late thirties, fine lines have really started to appear. I use the eyecream for my undereyes but i've also been using it on my forehead. My dark circles are not completely gone but i can defintely see a difference and my friends have mentioned it too. In terms of wrinkles i have seen a big difference on my forehead...the fine lines that were starting to look prominent are starting to disappear. I'm really glad i purchased this product...it actually works.

I didn't notice any real changes until my cousin asked me what I was using. I was shocked when she said she noticed a difference. I of course denied using anything, but she went on to say that my eyes were alot darker last year, and how lighter they've gotten now. WOW! Inside I was jumping around, lol

Now it's not a total miracle for me, because I still get the dark circles. Especially when I stay up late or go out drinking the night before.

Although when I think about it, I haven't been too fixed on how dark they've been.

So that right there was a actually a huge benefit in itself.

To be honest, I only applied it once a day to my eyes not 2x like recommended.

So now whenever I can remember to put it on at night I do.

It's defenitly heridtery because my dad has it also, and now that I'm about to order some more, I kinda want to have an extra one just so he can give it a shot.

I've been using the same bottle for 3 months and I probably have another 2 months of cream left.

I also want an extra one so I can bring to work when I work overnights.

In conlcusion it didn't remove 100% of the darkness for me but it damn well brings it down more then 50% and that's got my support. Shoot as Im writting this I'm going to also say the puffines is well down too.

Hope this helps.

I have been using this product for 3 full weeks, 2x per day as recommended, and have seen no improvement so far. I only have dark circles under my eyes, no puffiness or wrinkles, and this product has done nothing for the dark circles.

Don't waste your money.

I have been using this product for almost 2 years now. It works MUCH better than any other product I have tried before. I am over 50 and I have had a problem with dark circles most of my lifeeven as a teenager. As I got older, the puffiness only accentuated the problem. I started trying every cream on the market with minimal success. Then I tried Eye Wonder. What a difference! I even gave up my expensive Striveton eye cream (though I still use their face cream). The dark circles are virtually gone and (when I get enough sleep) the puffiness too. GREAT product. For those who said they used it for "2 weeks" and saw no difference. Give it a little more time. No cream that really works can do it that quickly. Though I saw some minimal improvement in 2 weeks, it took 2-3 months for the major difference to occur. When I look at photos from 2 years ago, I can really see a difference!

Sleep Apnea Relief Wedge - A Comfort System. Patented Adjustable Inclination COMFORT+ product. 30" w

Sleep Apnea Relief Wedge - A Comfort System. Patented Adjustable Inclination COMFORT+ product. 30' wide, 30' deep bed wedge system that inclines to 40 degrees. Commercial-Grade. An Amazon.com exclusive productI am a 50 + year old female and lives in Northern California. I have degenerated disc disease (DDD) and recently underwent an Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion on 3 discs. On top of that, I also have osteoarthritis, adhesive calculitis (frozen shoulder), osteophenia, scoliosis, peripheral neuropathy, and other issues. Sleeping on the recliner was the most comfortable place to be especially during recovery after the neck surgery. I tried to sleep on my flat mattress and wakes up in excruciating pain especially my arms and neck, so back to the recliner. I have also looked in to the option of buying a hospital bed, but they are so expensive. I googled for different options like the wedge foam pillow, but they are not wide enough and not adjustable besides, the price is also very expensive for a small pillow. Then I saw this air bed that is adjustable with the same price (or less) as the foam wedge pillows, I decided to get one a month ago.

The Comfort + is a great adjustable air bed that is 4 in 1. In my online research, I found out about the benefits of sleeping at an incline can help reduce the pains of sleep apnea, snoring, Acid Reflux, and GERDS. That was why the recliner was the best for me compared to a flat bed, but I miss sleeping in my own bedroom. Suffering from Osteoarthritis, my sleep can be hard especially when pain persists in the hips, knees, hands, feet, and spine. The Comfort + helps me relieve a lot of pain and I only added a pillow and placed under my knees. There was no need to buy another knee pillow that are so expensive in the market these days. I also use a simple neck pillow and I'm off to Lala Land!

Thank you to the inventor of Comfort +, Victor M. Kasatshko, owner of

VMK Innovations. I have corresponded with him a few times and he gave me the best customer service. I believe in this product and very happy that I saw this online. I am not affiliated with this business, but I highly recommend this. I also believe in "to each his own," so this might not work for everyone. Following instructions and not over inflating for me does wonders. Find your comfort zone in Comfort + and there will be no regrets. Comfort + is not a cure to our pain issues, but will relieve. I'm sure a lot of pain sufferers also take their medicine regularly and this bed helps. I used to be a hiker and backpacker on my strong days, but since I still love the outdoors, I am taking my Comfort + in car camping trips this summer. Good luck to the reader of this review who suffers from chronic pain. I hope you find comfort in Comfort +.

I just bought this product and was disappointed after using it for a couple of days. Air leaks even if I tighten the lids well. I am only 140 lbs. I tried different adjustments on how much air to put in to see if it makes any difference but still, after watching a movie using this, the product loses air and requires re filling, otherwise it becomes too soft. I would not recommend this product at all.

Doctor told me to try sleeping in a recliner or get an adjustable bed. We do not have a recliner and the adjustable bed is too expensive. I turned to Amazon and was pleased to find this product. It works great.

I do understand why the product instructions state not to use all 3 chambers inflated in bed since it does elevate you a bit higher when you sit up to get out of bed. It is a bit strange at first but after a few nights I have now adjusted myself to the fact that my bed is higher. The elderly and less agile need to heed the manufacturer's suggestions of use. I am 55 and in good health other than some minor issues at this point.

As someone else has stated once you let out enough air for it to be comfortable you get enveloped, or fall into the horse shaped incliner sections. The seller did give a couple suggestions but they did not work for me. And as for trying to return the product the seller stated

"RESTOCKING FEES

See bullet-point #4 of

http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/ref=help_search_1-2?ie=U

TF8&nodeId=901926&qid=1329443253&sr=1-2 .seller has the right to withhold

up to 50% when the product is returned "not in its original condition". We

only withhold 20%."

As if that makes it any better? It would be nice for seller to post that in his description as others have.

So you lose the shipping cost to you, you lose the shipping cost sending it back and you lose 20%, might as well keep it for the $ lost.

So be aware, if you dont like it, you just lost at least $60. I would go elsewhere first. Or try something local.

Or it may be perfect for you as others have said, but it's your choice to try it, just wanted you to be fully informed.

Thanks

Had hernia surgery and am very happy my daughter found this product and bought it for me. Recovery after the hospital was a breeze and recouped much faster due to not over-exerting my surgery site while trying to get out of bed. Told my doctor about the Comfort+ and he now recommends it for after surgery.

Restaid (60 Caps) Rest Aid Fast Acting All Natural Sleep

Restaid Rest Aid Fast Acting All Natural SleepI have used this product for 6 months. I wanted a non-addictive, all natural product to help me sleep through the night. This is great. No morning hangover. No crazy dreams. Just peaceful sleep. I wake up and feel good. I wish it was cheaper. Like $10 per box. I am not sure why it is so expensive. But if you can afford it, it is better than a prescription sleep med because you don't have to worry about withdrawal symptoms.

My husband has problems sleeping some nights. He saw an ad for Restaid in a magazine, but I found it much cheaper on Amazon so I ordered a box for him to try. He now swears by this product so I just ordered 3 more boxes!

I had been having insomnia for a few days and it was irritating. I saw the review for Restaid and decided to try it. This product made me drowsy but it did not really make me fall asleep. I went to the store and bought some maximum strength Unisom and I finally got a good nights rest. So I guess everyone's body chemistry is different.

This product does not work for me. Perhaps you need to take it every night to get results, but at this price, I am not willing to do that.

The negative reviews complained that this didn't make them fall asleep. It's not as strong as, say, Somnatrol in inducing sleep, but nothing on the market is as helpful in maintaining a good night's sleep through the whole night. If your only problem is falling asleep, try something else. If you have also have trouble staying asleep, try Rest-aid, and if it's not strong enough to induce sleep, try one Somnatrol and one Rest-aid together. That's combination I use and it's very effective.

SleepGuard System for Elimination of TMJ Pain

SleepGuard System for Elimination of TMJ PainOut of desperation, I bought the Sleepguard headband six months ago. It wasn't long before I realized the other reviews were all fake. Not only the headband is not backed by any credible studies (look up "Bruxism" on Wikipedia) but it also has trouble detecting when you are really clenching your teeth. It goes on when you change position and when you snore. A device that includes a mouthpiece would be more effective. Until then, save your money!

I've had migraines for over 20 years and tried lots of things that have had no long-term sustainable results. It's only been after using the SleepGuard biofeedback headband that I have realized (as the number of them has reduced) that my nighttime clenching and grinding has been playing a significant role in my recurrent pain.

If you have migraines and have ever experienced jaw pain I'd highly recommend you giving this a try. Since using the SleepGuard headband my jaw is much less sore and I haven't had any migraines in the last two weeks!

I wish I had known about the SleepGuard System earlier. I have caused so much damage to my teeth due to 20+ years of nightly clenching and grinding, and spent thousands of dollars on cracked teeth, root canals, composite resin restoration, not to mention the pain of it all. I got the SleepGuard about a month ago, and my life has changed. I no longer wake up in pain from clenching, I sleep through the night, and when I wake up my face feels relaxed!

I still wear my nightguard just in case, to protect my enamel, even though I think it increases my clenching habit. The SleepGuard headband actually costs less than half of what I paid for my last custom-fitted nightguard and it actually STOPS the clenching! I just can't say enough about it, it is a miracle. Anyone who is suffering from night grinding can probably benefit from this, regardless of the root cause of the behavior, because it simply makes you aware you are doing it so that you learn to stop the behavior before the clenching gets really intense and painful. I am so happy I bought it!

I've been using the SleepGuard system for over 6 years. I haven't slept a night without it since purchase. I own more than one so that if one needs to be serviced, I'm never without. Wearing the headband helps me understand how my health is trending and know what daytime activities contribute to more clenching at night. My clenching hasn't stopped completely but, the Guard wakes me up if I'm really putting a lot of pressure on my teeth. I no longer wake up with sore teeth and only occasionally awaken with ear/jaw discomfort. Combining this treatment with S.O.T. chiropractic has been the trick for me. I strongly recommend this tool for anyone that has struggled with TMJ for an extended amount of time.

I have been clenching my teeth for 20 years and many Dr's have stated that they have never seen such a severe case.I have spent over 20K on braces, surgeries, medications and almost every nightguard made. I was very hesitant to spend $400 on another device. When I sent an e-mail to this company the actual owner contacted me and told me that with the 21 day trial you can't go wrong.I have only had it for 2 nights but I have never had relief like this.It is already the best money I have ever spent.

MOISTURE LOCK cotton HAND LOTION Gloves Spa-cific NEW

MOISTURE LOCK cotton HAND LOTION Gloves Spa-cific NEWThese gloves are very nice. I've used a number of brands of moisturizing gloves, and these are up there with the best. They are a little too small, which is my only complaint, but I believe my hands are a bit larger than average. I'll be interested to see how others rate these as to size. They fit snug on my wrist, which is nice, as I have bought some (at the drugstore) that were so loose they fell off in my sleep. I haven't washed them yet...maybe I'll come back and add to this when I do. So far, though, I really do like the feel and fit of these gloves!

My husband has had hand eczema for many years. His hands crack and bleed in cold weather or when he gets them wet or just for no reason at all.

I purchased, at Amazon, a product called "Bag Balm". He is using the Bag Balm, at night, in conjuction with the gloves and his hands are as soft as silk. No more cracking and breaking.

My husband is 6'-4" tall and is just a big guy all around. He has big hands. These gloves fit him fine. I was pleasantly surprised that he was willing to try this remedy. But he is so happy with the results, I don't need to remind him to use the balm or to put on the gloves!!

These gloves were so tight that the tips of my fingers tingled while I fell asleep the first night that I wore them. They were a BIT looser by the morning but still not great. However, the part that fits around my wrist is INCREDIBLY loose and does not even touch my wrist. I am very dissapointed and am on the hunt again for a great glove. By the way, I am only 110 pounds so do NOT have very big hands. I can't imagine what a more normal sized person might experience with these!

I picked these up to help with a case of dry skin. I've got rather large hands which I often have a difficult time purchasing gloves for. These did not fit the bill. Very, very small. Even though they are cotton with a bit of spandex, they were hard to put on and did in fact affect circulation. I was only able to try them for a few minutes. They were just too uncomfortable to wear. I can't imagine that they would fit a male with anything larger than medium size hands.
