Sleep Better Visco Bed Wedge Pillow

In a nutshell, their statement in the description of "100-Percent memory foam pillow" is an outright lie. Memory foam holds the shape with pressure on it and is a dense, heavy foam. When this large box arrived, the wedge was clearly a light, standard foam that these liars were overcharging for. You can find a foam wedge for much cheaper elsewhere on Amazon. On the other hand, returning this large, bulky box to my not-so-nearby UPS store without a car is not feasible, so I'm stuck with it. I jammed it under the mattress to elevate the mattress and it does the job. I give them 1 start for lying on their posting, but then I felt morally obligated to raise it to two stars because they promptly refunded me when they realized their mistake. If you are reading this review and they changed their description to a "regular foam wedge", then they are no longer misrepresenting the product and it is truly a regular foam wedge.

This is my first wedge pillow and I am very satisfied with it.

-Fresh polyurethane foam stinks like chemicals for a week after delivery

-Possibly too soft for some people, particularly if you are very heavy the foam will compress too easily

I ordered this because I have GERD or acid reflux and need to keep my upper torso propped up at night.

This wedge pillow has been great! It's supportive, but not too stiff or too high. I sleep with my regular pillow on top of it, so I can still sleep on my side or put my arms around my pillow.

I did need to air out this pillow when I first got it, but the factory smell went in just a couple of days.

I think it's really made a difference in keeping the stomach acid out of my throat at night. I've been coughing and wheezing a lot less since I've been using it.

I bought this pillow as a reading pillow since I don't have a desk, only my bed to do all my homework or read. My back would be killing me and so I decided to buy something that would help. It honestly made all the difference in the world. My back is finally leaving me alone, and I am a lot more comfortable for a longer period of time. I also use it to relieve the pressure on my lower back and I often sleep with it under my legs, again it really helps.

When you will first receive the pillow, there will be a strong smell, but I left it outside for a few hours and used febreeze and it was much better! I strongly recommend this product!

For the price, I am well pleased with this pillow. I can use it for reading with a normal pillow stacked at it's top, or with a very thin (or old in my case) pillow for an elevated sleep when I have a head cold to allow drainage. It's not too high (I think 7in is about as tall as I could tolerate for sleeping). It's not overly firm (I bought a true 100% memory foam pillow from Amazon, and the thing is like a brick. I sit on it on the couch to try to break it in but it's pretty obstinate), and gives just enough for "Ah!" immediate comfort when I lay against it. I wish I had had this when I was pregnant as I am a back sleeper, and sleeping elevated was the only way I could fall asleep on my back and stay asleep the entire night.

This moisturizer has a lovely mousse-like texture, goes on smooth, "seemingly' rapidly absorbed into skin. However, about a half hour after first applying, I noticed an odd residue that is difficult to describe. When I touched my skin, I noticed a residue that seemed to rub off as tiny little dried pieces of the moisturizer. I have experienced this once before when using a Murad product with vitamin C. I do not believe this has any Vitamin C so I do not know the cause. The residue left on my skin after applying this does not seem conducive to the application of makeup following moisturizer. I have tried Aveeno skin care products, particularly moisturizers, in the past and have been satisfied. Perhaps this product reacted somehow with some residue left by my facial wash, although I don't believe so, perhaps it was one or more of the sunscreen ingredients. I just can't use this. But I will continue to try other Aveeno products.

I've used Olay Pro X 30 SPF for about a year. It's been hard to find at a reasonable price lately, thought I'd try a competitive product. Triple Strength Melatonin 10 mg 60 Caps

I use this product for occasional sleeplessness. About 20 minutes after taking it, I get quite sleepy, and can instantly fall asleep. The effect lasts perhaps 2-4 hours. Thus, if you have trouble falling asleep (not staying asleep), this product will help. I found it much more effective than the .3 mg, 3 mg, and 5 mg tablets. Melatonin is a hormone that is produced naturally in our bodies by the pineal gland. It has many functions, but perhaps the main function is to regulate the body wake/sleep cycle, thus, its use as an occassional sleep aid.

Because this is a large dose of Melatonin, it is always best to consult with your MD before using. Melatonin can interact with other body systems and medications. For this reason, I downloaded a precaution sheet from the University of Maryland on melatonin. (see below):

Precautions:

Some people may have vivid dreams or nightmares when they take melatonin. Taking too much melatonin may disrupt circadian rhythms (your "body clock").

Melatonin can cause drowsiness if taken during the day. If you are drowsy the morning after taking melatonin, try taking a lower dose.

Additional side effects include stomach cramps, dizziness, headache, irritability, decreased libido, breast enlargement in men (called gynecomastia), and decreased sperm count.

Pregnant or nursing women should not take melatonin because it could interfere with fertility.

Some studies show that melatonin supplements worsened symptoms of depression. For this reason, people with depression should consult their doctor before using melatonin supplements.

Although many researchers believe that melatonin levels go down with age, newer evidence has brought this theory into question. People older than 65 should ask their doctor before taking melatonin supplements, so blood levels of this hormone can be monitored.

Possible Medication Interactions:

If you are being treated with any of the following medications, you should not use melatonin without first discussing it with your health care provider.

Antidepressant medications -In an animal study, melatonin supplements reduced the antidepressant effects of desipramine and fluoxetine (Prozac). More research is needed to know if the same thing would happen in people. In addition, fluoxetine (a member of a class of drugs called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs) can cause low levels of melatonin in people.

Antipsychotic medications -A common side effect of antipsychotic medications used to treat schizophrenia is a condition called tardive dyskinesia, which causes involuntary movements. In a study of 22 people with schizophrenia and tardive dyskinesia caused by antipsychotic medications, those who took melatonin supplements had fewer symptoms compared to those who did not take the supplements.

Benzodiazepines -The combination of melatonin and triazolam (Halcion) improved sleep quality in one study. In addition, a few reports have suggested that melatonin supplements may help people stop using long-term benzodiazepine therapy. (Benzodiazepines are habit-forming.)

Blood pressure medications -Melatonin may make blood pressure medications like methoxamine (Vasoxyl) and clonidine (Catopres) less effective. In addition, medications in a class called calcium channel blockers may lower melatonin levels. Calcium channel blockers include:

*Nifedipine (Procardia)

*Amlodipine (Norvasc)

*Verapamil (Calan, Isoptin)

*Diltiazem (Cardizem)

*Felodipine (Plendil)

*Nisoldipine (Sular)

*Bepridil (Vascor)

Beta-blockers -Use of beta-blockers may lower melatonin levels in the body. Beta-blockers include:

*Acebutolol (Sectral)

*Atenolol (Tenormin)

*Bisoprolol (Zebeta)

*Carteolol (Cartrol)

*Metoprolol (Lopressor, Toprol XL)

*Nadolol (Corgard)

*Propranolol (Inderal)

Blood-thinning medications (anticoagulants) -Melatonin may increase the risk of bleeding from anticoagulant medications such as warfarin (Coumadin).

Interleukin-2 -In one study of 80 cancer patients, use of melatonin along with interleukin-2 led to more tumor regression and better survival rates than treatment with interleukin-2 alone.

Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) -NSAIDs such as ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) may lower levels of melatonin in the blood.

Steroids and immunosuppressant medications -Melatonin may cause these medication to lose their effectiveness. Do not take melatonin with corticosteroids or other medications used to suppress the immune system.

Tamoxifen -Preliminary research suggests that the combination of tamoxifen (a chemotherapy drug) and melatonin may benefit some people with breast and other cancers. More research is needed to confirm these results.

I feel like I should be able to tell if this is helping or not as it's been a few weeks since I've been taking it. I'm taking it at the recommendation of a sleep therapist along with using a lightbox. If it's helping, it's not dramatic, though I've had slight improvement in my sleep. Since I started the light therapy and melatonin at the same time, it's hard to say what's made the slight improvement. I wish this was a magic bullet for me, but it's not. Sound Spa Portable

I'm not saying that this would not be good for some folk, but if you have a problem listening too closely to sounds, this machine will simply not do. It will not be long before you pick up on how short the actual sound clips are that you are listening to, and you will soon pick out when and how often they repeat. If you are actually trying to relax or sleep, this can get quite distracting. There are better machines with longer cycles -look for those even if you have to pay more.

I have a lot of trouble sleeping, and do better when I have some sort of white noise going on in the background. This machine is incredibly inexpensive, and you don't have to go broke supplying batteries for it, because it comes with its own AC plug.

Another great feature is the timer. You can set it for 15, 30 or 60 minutes. And of course, there is a volume control. I also like the design. It is compact, but stable, and not likely to get knocked over very easily. It could be placed on an unstable surface like the carpet, or, in my case, a pile of books on my nightstand.

I don't like the heartbeat sound, but I've fallen asleep quite well to all of the other sounds. My favorite is the "Rain" sound very consistent and soothing.

My only complaint is the sound quality. I would rate it as average I've heard better, and I've heard worse. The sounds are repetitive, with only about a minute long cycle.

And my reason for not giving it five stars is that when you turn the sound up past a certain level (not even to the halfway point on the volume control), there is a feedback buzz. Lucky for me, there is room on my nightstand right next to my bed, so I can hear it on the lower levels. But for someone who has to place it on another spot in the room, it could be annoying.

I have suffered through chronic insomnia my entire life. I hate most over the counter sleeping pills because they make me feel groggy the next day, and other herbal remedies I've tried don't work. irst, not everything works for everyone so some will not like it. Second, it's common sense to not mix meds and to check what side affects can be before taking anything. You can die from an OD of Vitamins. Everything affects everyone differently. Also never start with a full dose (unless prescribed by a doctor and even they tell you to stop for certain side affects); work your way up. Now for the review...

I've taken this for a while now off and on for those times when I'm stressed or can't fall asleep. It works fine for me. It also makes me a bit queasy if I try to stay up past the 1hr mark. I tested this and it seems it a side affect meant to force you to sleep before that point. I do end up a little groggy if I didn't have a full 8hrs and woke up before.

I have also taken ZMA which is mostly Zinc. This can't be taken with certain meds (as anything else since you can't take vitamins with some meds). It works fine and I sometime do a half dose of each together. Which depending on my state can be better.

In general, avoid drinking liquids an hour before bed. Don't eat for 2 hours before bed. Go to bed hungry (you don't want to be stuffed or starving; leave room for desert). Avoid sugars, chocolate, vitamin C a few hours before bedtime. Cut back on the coffee and drink it early and not on an empty stomach. Warm milk with honey, hot herbal (no caffeine) tea, as well as yogurt can help. Avoid TV, computers and video games at least an hour before as it overstimulates the brain and the senses. Try reading a book instead. Lighting also plays a role, dimmed lights and darkness start the body into night mode. Also, if taking allergy meds (most such as Zyrtec which can make you drowsy), take it at night. This way it's in your system, you're on a schedule and the effects helps you sleep.

I don't take melatonin any more since the effects are no longer apparent to me. It worked at first but now I get nothing from it. These no kink crush proof/resistant hoses are a necessity but we keep our house on the cool size during fall/winter/spring and the hoses stiffen a bit and tangle easier. I wouldn't have thought of this or even noticed but when I first purchased them it was summer and they worked well. when I say tangle, I don't mean knot up but they don't relax when you gather/loop them up to hang them on a bed post and such. Incidentally, I put a couple of Command super size hooks up in strategic places around the house to help manage my hose wad. I think they're robe hooks or something. they are two-tone in color and maybe 3-5" tall. works like a charm.

For those unfamiliar with it, a quick overview: melatonin is a hormone, naturally secreted by the pineal gland (in your brain). Melatonin helps regulate the sleep/wake cycle and it is proving itself to also be a powerful antioxidant. ONLY TAKE IT AT NIGHT, never during the day (unless you're a midnight shift worker, that is).

I have fibromyalgia and have avoided using pharmaceuticals as much as possible. However, about once a month, my pain is so intense that I need something to break through the pain. I bought this tape to wrap my daughter's sprained ankle. She wears it during gymnastics practice but it doesn't stick to itself very well. I still need to use another athletic tape to wrap the end to make sure it doesn't get undone. It's great that it's latex free and she likes that the tape is stretchable but it's not very self-adherent.

It's Latex free..which is great..but not long enough for me..I gave them to a friend who is in health care..Next time..will make sure of the length..But still great item..
