Transparent Classic Hot Water Bottle - Made in Germany
I've owned a lot of hot water bottles and I abuse them by putting boiling water in them. I sleep with one every night for extra warmth. They usually last about a year before the seam splits. This bottle doesn't appear to have the same seam system if any seams at all. It is made of a very thick silicone which holds the heat very well. With a towel cover over it, it stays solidly warm for eight hours. The textured surface on one side is quite a high texture which does a good job of preventing it from getting too hot to touch. The neck is wide and easy to pour water into without it spitting back at you. I'm in love with this bottle and I expect that it will last longer than the usual year. Seller was great. The bottle came on time and in great condition. They even threw in a free bar of soap!August 2009-Nearly two years later and the bottle is still holding up strong!

After using this bottle for 2 years, it is hands down the best one I've ever used.
######### AFTER 4 YEARS ######
(1) YELLOWING I have two of these Fashy transparent bottles and still love them to death (so does my mum), but one thing to note that I also experiencing a "yellowing" of the bottles. It is NOT based on the water supply. I have learned these bottles are made of TPU (Thermoplastic polyurethane). 'Transparent' TPU discolors and turns yellowish (same as my iPad case). Anyways, it doesn't affect the performance, but I loved the original clear, clean look. It still has it, but with a tinted yellow discoloration. The manufacturer should use aliphatic TPU based on aliphatic isocyanates to prevent the yellowing.
(2) Also, the smooth side of the hot water bottle has begun to peel somewhat. It has not affected the job performance. I tend to abuse my bottles (lie down on them -all 165lbs of me) and put boiling water, so YMMV.
(3) Bottle leaks if I don't tighten it very hard after years of use/abuse(?)
PROS:
1) Huge mouth and anti-"spurt" lip prevent water spitting back out like those old rubber ones
2) OMG It's transparent!!! No more guesswork about how much hot water is inside!
3) VERY easy to tighten, and SECURE bottle cap! I've literally sit on this thing with boiling water, and filled to the max, and it has never leaked

CONS:
1) No doubt about it. For $24-27 shipped, it is expensive, but IMO if you use this thing daily like I do for muscle pain/helping with sleep/feel warm and toasty in a cold room, then it's damn worth it (this is coming from a loyal tightwad gazetter :P)

Yes, it is clear and sturdy. The best bottle I've ever used. I have bought 6 of these and they are all flawless!I recommend buying the clear bottle since you can visually inspect if the seam to see if it is getting weak in any areas. The seam is thick and strong, but it appears to be thinner at the neck. So I try to avoid stressing that area.
There was a lemon scent when new to mask the plastic smell. I washed the outside of the bottle with warm water and a mild soap and the lemon smell disappeared. I've used one of the bottles about a dozen times now and there's still a faint generic plastic smell, but it's only noticeable if I have the bottle an inch away from my nose.
The plastic is pretty thick which means it take a while for the heat to radiate through it. I preheat it under hot tap water for about 10 seconds before filling it.
When I fill it with hot tap water (mine is about 120°F, but I think 140°F is normal), the bottle stays warmer than room temp for about 2 hours if I don't move it around much. 120°F through thermoplastic is not hot enough to sooth any aches, but can still provide some warmth.
Other times I pull out my tea kettle and fill it with nearly boiling water (180-200°F) the bottle stays very hot for many hours. The neck of the bottle stays cool enough to hold while filling it with near boiling water. I've been sleeping with one at my feet and it is still lukewarm 7 hours later. I sometimes use full boiling water (212°F) and haven't seen any problems other than it is really hot!
The bottle comes with a little hanger attached on the top of the water bottle (where you fill it). I don't know if the hanger is just for storage or retail purposes. The hanger is detachable, but I am disappointed that it won't fit in the hole on the bottom of the bottle to hang it upside-down for drying or storage. Problem solved with looping a rubberband tying a loop of string/ribbon a few inches long to the bottom hole. A practical solution for hanging upside down should have been included.
Note: I don't have a use for the hanger so I removed it and tied the plug to the hole left behind so I don't lose it.
I did some searching and found UV light causes "thermalplastic" to yellow. I'm not sure if this is the same exact material used in the water bottles, but I try to keep mine covered.
*Sept 22, 2010 update: My bottles still work great and look like new! On hot days I've put them in the freezer and it made an excellent ice pack!
*Nov 26, 2010 update: Using them daily again. No signs of wear. Works great and clear like new! Cat also loves it under his cardboard box.
*Nov 22, 2011 update: I've been lazy and put straight boiling water in it several times now and it seems to have stretched out a little, but still holding up great! The seals still look very strong. I stopped covering the bottles and left them hanging in my shower. No yellowing.

Water bottle: 7.5 inches wide and 10 inches tall (12.5 inches tall including funnel). Less than 1/2 inch thick when empty. One side of the bottle is smooth and the other side has diagonal ridges on it. The smooth side is noticeably hotter.
Volume: The bottle holds about 2 quarts of water (or 1/2 gallon or 64 ounces) when filled to the top. Note that you should only fill it 2/3 full so no more than 43 ounces of water should actually be used or almost 1.5 quarts.
Seam: 1/4" thick all around and tapers to 1/8" thick at the neck.
Filling hole: The hole where the plug screws into is 1 inch in diameter.

The plug also has a tiny hole drilled into the handle to tie it to the bottle. It originally comes tied to the hanger, which I found useless. Plug's handle is about 1" tall and 1.5" wide. --Good for big fingers.
Built-in funnel: Oval shape about 2" wide and 3.25" long and about 2" deep (from the neck to the top of the funnel). --Also good for big fingers.

Do not use boiling water, even hot tap water can scald.

I really like these hot water bottles. They feel very durable. One side has ridges while the other side is smooth depending on how much heat you want. I will start by saying that I abuse the hot water bottles quite a bit. I use them frequently and while I generally do not use straight boiling water, I mix it with some cold tap water, the bottles get pretty hot. The negative I found is that after 3 months of owning one of these bottles it tore. That's right, it didn't burst or get a hole, it literally tore at the seam. I imagine it was while I was laying on it and shifted and combined with the heat of the water it just came apart. Also, some of the plastic coating that is on the smooth side started to peel off. These are expensive bottles and even though I use them a lot I expected a bit more durability. The last hot water bottles I had lasted for over 10 years before they sprung a hole. I decided to give these bottles another shot and ordered 2 more of them because I really do like these bottles. Hopefully it may have just been a fluke or a bit too much abuse. I will update this review if anything happens to the new bottles I received.
Rest Easy Kills & Repels Bed Bugs Tripper Spray
Unlike the user below I thought this product worked well. I was able to rid myself of bed bugs (I caught it in early stages), but don't get me wrong, you have to do more than depend on one spray.It's not going to work instantly, like steam, but it does kill the bugs without poisoning you (unless you're allergic to any of the ingredients like cinnamon). The oils attach itself to the body of bed bugs and dissolves the shell.
The smell will stick around like with most bug sprays, I suggest ventilation. I also suggest reading how to use it properly so you don't end up with staining your bedding or fabrics or using too much of the product.
The best part of this product is that is doesn't use pesticides and it is effective (the user before should have read a little bit more about how it kills the bug before assuming it works like Raid on a roach).
I also suggest for the sufferers out there to also use steam in cracks and food grade diatomaceous earth and to do research how to best apply each measure so you don't waste the little energy you have after probably not getting a full nights sleep.

I've been fighting bed bugs for 3 or 4 months. Very little works that you can feel OK about spraying on the edges of your mattress and on the bottom side of our pillows. The fact that it was also touted as a painkiller was an added bonus, as I suffer chronic knee pain. After trying doses of anywhere from 20 to 60 drops prior to bed time, I think I may have felt slightly more relaxed, but I did not have noticeably more vivid dreams. Furthermore, I didn't feel any impact on my mild insomnia. I slept just as restlessly and still found myself waking frequently throughout the night.
As for eliminating pain, I also felt no improvement while using this product.

Sound Oasis Sounds for Sleep Sound Card
I admit I did not research the sounds on this card very well. I originally thought the sounds were designed to promote delta sleep, etc. I did not realize the sounds were fan, airplane (think Cessna or twin engine, not 747), country road, vacuum, night train, and AC. The card was very difficult to insert into the Sound Oasis unit and actually damaged the port, but I was able to repair it. It is nice to have the sound card in order to have a greater variety of sounds to choose from.I purchased 2 different cards, the other was Tropical Rain Forest. The sounds on the Rain Forest card do not match with their description, so I think I may have ended up with a mislabeled card. None the less, I was able to find a nice soothing sound that works for both me and my husband.
Overall, I think the cards are good choice if you like to have a larger variety of sounds to choose from. I gave it 3 stars bacause of the difficulty with insertion and the damaging of the unit.

At first this unit was great, but somehow, it developed some additional "transient" sounds that interfered with the soundsthat are necessary to cover up other sounds in the room. This is hard to explain, except that your ears pick-up on these abnormal sounds that are cycled thru the regular sounds. It may be a click, beep, melodic or a skip where the cycle ends and starts. The wife woke up several times hearing sounds and once thought she heard her cell phone and realized that it was the sound card. I can "forget" and not hear it, but sometimes your ears "catch" ahold of the foreign sound and won't let go.

I've had frequent insomnia for as long as I can remember. Throughout the years I've taken lunesta, ambien, over the counter sleep aids (natural and chemical), even multibagged sleepytime tea. I have chronic back pain that is made worse by irritable bowel syndrome IBS. Magnesium is calming to muscles and helps keep me relaxed. It keeps things moving along. I am very inconsistent when it comes to taking supplements. Even though I have only been taking this occassionally, I have been regular every day. I read somewhere that 70 percent of us are magnesium deficient. Maybe I am no longer deficient and am now able to metabolize optimally? Time will tell. A doctor recommended hydroquinone for my melasma--hormonal darkening usually caused by pregnancy, but mine just never went away after my kids were born. So I got a lot of scars from acne and I've tried everything to get rid of them or atleast lighten them. I was getting really impatient and fed up and did a little research before buying anything. This product came up and I usually like to know what ingredients are in the product to see if I have already tried another product with similar ingredients that has failed on me previously. When I looked up the ingredients for porcelana it had an ingredient called hydroquinone. So I did further research into it and there is some controversy about this specific ingredient and some type of cancer inducing effects. But a higher risk is correlated to higher percentage, and porcelana has 2% hydroquinone (which isn't bad compared to other prescribed products). I think 2% is perfect because I tried something with 4% and it really irritated my skin-the only issue is that you have to be patient because it really does take 2 weeks for you to see dramatic results, although you will see some progress a week later-but really...2 weeks is not that bad and it actually gets a lot better as time progresses and it helps with future dark spots-so if you really do want your dark spots to fade PLEASE get this product and BE PATIENT!!!!!! Another thing I noticed (I'm not sure if its correlated to me using the product or coincidence) but my acne did stop-it was weird. And if I did get a pimple or something the scars that come from that acne were little or it didn't scar at all. But now back to the ingredient hydroquinone, I talked to my dermatologist and she said that it really isn't that dangerous to a person's health but she recommends to only be exposed to it for 3 months. If you don't see anything after a month or two than the product is obviously not working and there is no need to expose yourself to more hyrodoquinone. The only bad thing is that the product is a bit greasy and sticky-but honestly, I don't really care. It does what needs to be done but its not a product you can really wear under makeup.The mechanism behind hydroquinone:

so hydroquinone
1. one of the most effective inhibitors of melanogenesis (production of melanin-which too much in certain cells is the reason for discoloration)
2. cytotoxic to melanocytes (melanin-producing cells). This means it kills these types of cells. It is not limited to killing these cells it can kill normal cells but the amount that is needed (so the threshold) of hydroquinone for normal cells is a lot higher than the threshold of melanocytes

Not sure what was going on with my eyes, but this thing would give my under eyes a burning sensation and I didn't use too much. It even says to use a "generous amount". I would just roll it under my eyes, the little silver ball felt nice to the touch, but that's about it.My undereyes also became itchy.
