Sound Oasis S-850W Travel Sleep Sound Therapy System, White

I have a fairly expensive sleep sounds machine at home or I sleep with a fan on. Travelling was always a challenge because many hotel rooms are too quiet, the fan units are too loud or they blow air directly onto the bed. This little machine has solved that problem for me. The casing is solid and the time feature can easily toggle between your home and away times. I believe this is best travel sound machine on the market.

Other reviewers have complained that the sound loop is short and it is. However, it doesn't really effect me because I only need background noise. My suggestions for improvements:

1. Eliminate the recording feature.

2. There are many sounds to choose from (cut them in half and double the times of the others).

3. Include a heavier protective travel case.

I had my first one for two years. The electronics are temperamental and would go blank regularly and I had to reset all dates and times. That one was lost in lost baggage so I looked forward to buying a new one that worked. Sent it back because the alarm function did not work.

Tranquil Moments Advanced Sleep Sounds

I bought this sound machine for sleeping when my other Ecotones Duet sound machine failed to function after its one-month usage. This machine had a lot more sound options, but unfortunately, the loop is about 30 seconds. I love sleeping to sounds of a thunderstorm, but this machine only provided rainfall and one obviously repetative thunder clap--highly annoying!! The "unwind" selection was my favorite relaxing melody, but I could not sleep to it. If you are ordering as a sleep machine, I would recommend skipping this one. For yoga or other meditative purposes, it could be quite good.

I am a musician and I have the sound of breaking glass in my right ear. I had hope that this machine would help cover the noise at night. I was wrong.

The natural sounds; rain, storm, stream, and ocean are pleasant. The White Noise is oddly disturbing; like a repeating loop with a strange hum. It is not even close to the range I needed to mask my tinnitus. Celestial, Night, Serenity, Unwind, Meditate, Focus, Rejuvenate, Relieve, Soothe, Calm and Harmony are a most bizarre composition of bad synthesizer music and noise. Not one of them is good for my tinnitus (or my sanity)!!!

Now to the reason I kept this machine.

I adore the touch light and the fact that it doesn't glow eerie green all night. This is such a rare feature in an alarm clock and it makes me wonder if I'm the only person on the planet who hates a light shining in my face while I sleep? The 2 alarm modes are perfect for a gentle wake up & a shake you from your bed sound. The adjustable back light is also nice.

The price was outrageous for the pathetic quality of the sounds. I had their small travel sized clock for years and I miss the waterfall sound & the frogs singing me awake.

Should you buy this? Well, for me...it was worth it just to have the touch light function.

I found that it works like melatonin is supposed to. So, you will find no complaints on my end. Yup.

Sound Oasis Sound Therapy System

The Sound Oasis Sound Therapy System is a great product for its price. Mine arrived without the stand, and it was sent to me immediately upon notifying the company. Excellent company service. Can run continuously or be set to turn itself off at various intervals. Sound quality is very good. I use it at night to go to sleep, and I like the sound of Rain the best. Great ocean sound, too. I would recommend this system to anyone not wanting to spend $100's.

I purchased this for ambient noise to sleep by. I am a very light sleeper. I was looking for a machine that did not have lights and had "canned" noises.

The idea of the ability to use sound cards to increase the variety of choices really appealed to me. When I got my first unit, it did not work as promised and I exchanged it for another. The second one worked fine. The sound cards are kind of difficult to insert and I actually damaged the port trying to put one in. I was able to fix the port and got the sound cards to work.

I like the easy on/off switch in the front (the large silver bar). One I find the perfect volume, I never have to change it or try to find it again. The sound quality is pretty good as well. The unit is fairly small, but can rally project the sound.

Pros: compact, no lights, easy on/off, ability to expand sound choices, sound quality

Cons: difficult to insert sound cards, sound card port is easily damaged

I purchased one of these and loved it so I purchased two more--one for my mother and sister. About a week later mine started malfunctioning. It would turn on by itself (sometimes in the middle of the night, which would wake me up), plus it would be playing a different sound than the one I had selected.

I contacted the supplier and returned it and received another one which is working (but I had to pay the $8 shipping cost). However, a week ago my mother called and her's is doing the same thing after about 45 days. Unfortunately, the 30-day return period is over from the supplier and now I will have to deal directly with the company that makes it (Sound Oasis). The problem is that the product manual indicates that information on the 1-Year Limited Warranty is shown on page 12 but the manual only has 10 pages in it.

Bottom line, of the four units I have ordered--two of them stopped working correctly. A sound machine that turns on in the middle of the night and wakes me up is not what I wanted. I'm very disappointed because this is a great product when it works--and I'm just trying to get one that keeps working.

This is a great product. The quality of the sounds is really good. We use "white noise" the most.

I only have one issue with it...

Some mornings after I turn it off, it randomly comes back on by itself...always on the "ocean surf" sounds, which is one that we never use.

Mack's Ear Care Dreamgirl Soft Foam Earplugs, 50 Count

I've tried lots of different ear plugs to wear at night because of my husbands snoring. Most of them are just too hard to sleep with. They hurt when I roll on my side or they protrude out of my ear too much.

I thought it was kind of silly to have "pink" ear plugs just for "women". I thought it was really gimmicky so I refused to buy them for the longest time. It just so happened that I ran out, and Walgreens had them on sale cheaper than any of the other ear plugs so I tried them.

I have to say. They are PERFECT!

They are slightly softer and slightly shorter than standard earplugs. They fit my ear much better than a standard ear plug therefore I get a better seal from them. They don't hurt my ear when I roll over on my side to sleep because they don't protrude out of my ear and because they are softer than normal plugs.

All in all.. I won't go back to the regular ear plugs. Gimmick or not... these are the ear plugs for me. :)

Blocks out much less noise than Mack's ultra soft ear plugs which are the same price and. A little more uncomfortable, but so much better at blocking out noise.

I got these for my wife since she ran out of the small pack of another brand she got at the store. Those were normal sized and they would hurt her ears when she woke up. She gets super annoyed by any sounds when she sleeps and she says that someone in the room snores, but I haven't heard anyone... These are built specifically for women and are almost half as thick as standard plugs. Apparently women have smaller ear canals than men. Maybe that's why wives yell so much. It's been a couple of nights since they arrived and she says they are more comfortable than her last pairs but they don't drown out as much sound. These are a great value for the price but are not as effective at accomplishing their primary goal as other models. So you do sacrifice efficiency for comfort. Maybe this would work perfectly when paired with nose plugs for your significant other.

It's a wedge...not much else to say really. It's a pillow in the form of a wedge which is supposed to help with multiple sleep issues such as snoring, sleep apnea, acid reflux...all of which I suffer from. This does help with those conditions, but is no substitute for proper medical attention and other methods of care.

This 7.5" height is a good middle-ground, which elevates you more than a regular pillow, and isn't as bothersome as some of the 12" wedges. It takes a bit of getting used to, and it is still weird, but doesn't stop me from sleeping.

One thing to keep in mind is that you can't really lay on your side with these, you must sleep on your back. Otherwise it's uncomfortable, and defeats the purpose, so if you are a side sleeper, you might want to practice lying on your back at night.

My only real complaint here is that it doesn't come with a pillow cover, so you'll have to buy one along with it.

We bought this pillow for my husband, who is a world class snorer, at the suggestion of his doctor, who advised him that elevating his upper body might help with his snoring. I was skeptical...oh great, yet another useless anti snore pillow, mouth guard, nose strip, etc....we'd tried them all. I have to admit, it has helped remarkably with his snoring so we are both sleeping much better. He never realized how much his snoring was disturbing his sleep and is now able to enjoy a peaceful night sleep and wake up refreshed. It is quite a new experience for him.

This stuff puts me to sleep within half an hour of taking it. Just calcium, magnesium and a small amount of herbs, so quite non-toxic. I really like it!
