SleepRight Breathing Aid-3ct

The SleepRight Breathing Aids are THE BEST!! I have sleep apnea and need to keep my nostrils open when I sleep, even though I use a C-Pap machine. I tried the Brez nasal aid, regular and advanced Breathe Right strips (which only worked if I added medical tape over each end even though I dried my oily skin first with rubbing alcohol), the Snorepin (ouch), and the Silent Sleep snore stopper (which helped but was very uncomfortable). The SleepRight Breathing Aids are flexible, so they're comfortable, are reusable, and can be positioned in a `W' or `M' position to suit you. They look a bit like a butterfly and gently open your nostrils. There is also a tiny plastic carrying case that holds one of the aids guess I'll take that on the next flight I'm on! I just can't say enough about how well these work and how easy it is to get used to them. And how WELL I can sleep now!!

This is a ok product, probably one I would take with me on the road or whenever Im away from home. I have another one that works better, but on this one:

-It works, it does open my nose and gets air flow going on my left nostril (the one that is irregular).

-I like the design since it does allow your nose hairs to stay somewhat useful, filtering air, catching particles, etc.

-The material is a semi-soft plastic that flexes and moves on insert.

What I don't like

-The very end of the clamp, near the bottom of the nose, really pinches your nose, not sure if this is by design or maybe I got too small a part? I dont know, but man did it hurt and I had to build callouses inside my nose..lol

-The device doesn't stay in all night, maybe its me doing something at night (it irritates me?) and I remove it, but I've woken up a few times wondering what it was..patting around my sheets in the middle of night...

You get 3 and that's fine, I still have two, but switched to another nose vent.

I have purchased several products on the same line as these but found I like these the best. When I sleep I find it hard to breath so I do it thru my mouth which gives you dry mouth in the morning. I was forever drinking water when I woke during the night because of breating thru my mouth. These open your passages and let you breath thru your nose at night. I know I snore but can't tell you if these help that or not (I am just thinking that it does) because the only other occupants in this house are cats and they haven't said. They need getting used to because that is a foreign object in your nose but I do think they are great. I sleep much better now. I used to wake up all during the nigth but that doesn't happen now.

This work as advertised and for me it worked much better than the "Breath Right" strips which kept coming off my nose. After a couple of days of usage you will forget that you have it in. They are also economical, in that one lasts for 45 days and comes with a storage/carrying case.

I can finally breathe through my nose again. With allergy and sinus it has always been hard to

breathe through my nose. As a result I would snore at night waking my sweet hubby up and he would nudge

I don't know whether I got a bad batch or if this is just an inferior product. I do understand that we get what we pay for. I've been using these for about a week now and have had only one night that the thing stayed on all night. I wash my face at bedtime and am careful to not put moisturizer on my nose just so the strips adhere better but it doesn't seem to matter with this brand. They seem to stick better to the paper than to my skin, as if they'd gotten wet then dried in the paper covering. That's what makes me wonder if it's just a bad batch. Anyway, I probably won't purchase this brand again. Bummer.

After using Breathe Right for many months, I was looking for something a little more affordable, since you can't exactly reuse nose strips and I go through one a night. I decided to take a chance on this Better Breathe brand, and I must say, I'm very impressed! Not only does it open the airways as well as Breathe Right, this nose strip has a fabric feel to it that makes it a little more comfortable than the plastic feel of Breathe Right.

As an alternative to the brand name, these are great. They're not exactly the same, though. They're more "sticky" than breathe right, which can make them a little more painful to remove in the mornings. Not a deal-breaker though. And the packaging is not as high-quality, usually not splitting properly, nor making that cool blue glow-in-the-dark effect when opening. Neither of these things make them unworthy of replacing the original breathe right strips. I only hope they don't violate some sort of patent, since I'll take anything I can to avoid paying for over-priced nasal strips and would hate to see these ones disappear.

Herbalife Sleep Now

After four years of school, I came to the conclusion that operating on sleep deprivation probably wasn't a good idea. Everyone has different sleep issues and disorders. This may work for some one out there, but it didn't work for me. Melatonin use to work for me, but not anymore. I think it would be good for every once in awhile usage, but not every night. Valerian, for some reason works as a diuretic. Making me get up often to go potty, does not qualify as a good night's sleep!

Dream Essentials Snooz Silky Soft Eye Mask - Black

I work night shift and need something to block out light to help me sleep. This mask is cheap, comfortable, and does the job. Two straps are better than one for getting a mask to fit right. // Edited to add: I have now had my shipment of the masks for several months, and the first one that I started to use is still on the job. I am a light sleeper, and I cannot stand light when I sleep. Even if the outside hall is lit up, I find it hard to sleep.

This sleep mask is pretty good for a sleep mask, it blocks those minor lights (such as outside hall and the glow from my digital clock). It also blocks the sunlight pretty well, about 75% ~ 85% of all lights. I sometimes wake up wondering why is it so dark yet there are birds chirping, so it does work very well.

However, it does not completely block 100% of all light (also a little crack in the nose part also glows out). Also the mask does touch your eyes so when your eyes get wet while to yawn your eyes water when you sleep you will feel dampness around your eyes.

Overall,it gets the job done well.

I bought 4 Snooz Silky Soft Sleep Masks directly from Dream Essentials. I don't know if the manufacturer shortened the length of the two elastic bands to save costs but all 4 masks are MUCH too tight to wear. Neither my wife nor I can use this sleep mask. While inexpensive, keep in mind that you are getting what you pay for with this product. My big complaint is that it isn't soft on the underside of the mask so it makes you sweat underneath it. It's not comfortable. I would reccomend spending a little more just to get a better product.

Twinings Pure Camomile Herbal Tea, 20 Tea Bag Boxes (Pack of 6)

This is good chamomile tea from Twinings. As its name suggests, each teabag (20 in each box) contains pure chamomile and each bag is individually wrapped in plastic-paper wrapper. Chamomile tea is an herbal tea made from a flowering plant. It's naturally caffeine free and is supposed to aid in digestion. It's often used as a mild sleep aid, and I find that it makes for a soothing cup of tea just before bed.

However, I'd only buy this again if I found it at a very good price. I had tried chamomile tea from a generic brand, so I bought this Twinings version to see if a premium brand tasted any better. I did a blind taste test of this against Walmart's "Great Value" brand, and found little difference in flavor. The Walmart brand may have actually been a little stronger. But, for me, they were both equally good. This is probably because both Twinings and many generic brands of tea use only raw chamomile; rather then a blend. I've done the same experiment with Earl Grey, a blended tea, and Twinings has always tasted, in my opinion, far better than the generic brand. Generic teas are much cheaper though. A box of generic chamomile is often $1.99 or less for 20 teabags in store. I've seen Twinings chamomile sell for nearly twice that.

The difference between this chamomile tea from Twinings and generic brands, is that Twinings wraps each teabag in a sealed plastic-paper wrapper. Many generic brands do not wrap their teabags. A sealed wrapper obviously helps to keep the tea fresh and prevents flavors from getting in or out. I've found that some teas, if simply left in the cupboard exposed to open air, will lose their flavor or absorb flavors from other foods after a few weeks. So if you take a month or more to drink through a box of tea, it's a good idea to have each teabag sealed in its own wrapper and then sealed in a jar.

Bottom line: This is as good of a chamomile tea as I've tried and is well packaged. But chamomile tea from generic brands is often just as good but for a lower price. In the future I will stick to generic brands of chamomile tea.

My 9 year old granddaughter wanted this cute mask to block out the light from her older brother's room across the hall. My 4-year-old son goes to sleep easy, but wakes up many times and by 5 or 5:30 is so antsy I have to get up, too. Then he's cranky and obviously tired. It won't knock you out like certain drugs can, but if it's dark and quiet, you will definitely fall asleep with this stuff within 30 minutes, just make sure you don't swallow any of it; just dissolve under your tongue completely.

A warning though: a few of the times it didn't work, I would take another tablet, this however, caused me to feel very nauseous for a couple hours. Not sure if they're related, but I did experience it enough times to correlate the nausea to the tablets. Note though that I have never felt nauseous while taking one tablet a night.

For those who still wake up in the middle of the night while taking these, take some Magnesium as well. The Melatonin helps you fall asleep while the Magnesium keeps you asleep during the night.

By the way, these things actually taste good!

I've tried one other brand of Melatonin and it didn't work for me. This brand is very good and it also has a pleasant orange flavor. Follow directions as stated on the bottle.

I get really good sleeps when I use this. It is my understanding that melatonin, if taken every night, will stop working after a few months. I use it occasionally, sometimes for a week at a time. I'm very happy with this product and it is natural, not a prescription drugs, which is a big plus.

As someone who suffers from insomnia, it is always a relief to find a product to help get some sleep now and again. When I took the older, non sublingual version of this melatonin it didn't help me one bit. For some reason, the sublingual (taken under the tongue) product seems to work rather well.

Chlorpheniramine Maleate Extended Release, 12 Mg , 60 Tablets

I was so glad to find this generic of Chlortrimeton 12 hour, which has disappeared recently and is apparently no longer produced due to the popularity of Claritin and Zyrtec and their generics which do nothing for me. Benedryl is fine, but doesn't last long. This is the only extended release antihistimine that I have been able to find lately. This product is an excellent timed-release antihistimine, providing long-lasting allergy relief without any unneccessary additional ingredients such as decongestants which raise blood pressure. I use it twice a day, morning and bedtime, for my hay fever type allergies, and I even give one daily to my 35lb beagle for her itching allergies with no problem, and the extended effectiveness is a blessing. I would strongly recommend checking with your vet before giving it to your dog, though, because my dog has had to take antihistimines since she was a puppy and therefore has a higher tolerance. Antihistimines can have a sedative effect you don't want to OD your beloved pet!

Chlorpheniramine maleate is the best allergy medication I've encountered, after a long period of ineffective prescription antihistamines and a few other over-the-counter pills that simply didn't work. It's a first-generation alkylamine and unlike many others from that generation, it causes much less drowsiness. Still, it can cause drowsiness for some people, so try it out over a weekend when you've got nowhere to go, and make sure it's not going to knock you out. Personally, I never have any of this drowsiness, but you should be careful taking any new medication. You should be aware that drugs related to this have been used as both sleep aids and antidepressants. Chlorpheniramine maleate can affect your nervous system in unexpected ways, and all antihistamines can have odd side effects. There seems to be a strong genetic component to how different people react to different antihistamines. Some have seemingly no effect on certain people's allergies. Others have side effects. Lucky for me, Chlorpheniramine maleate is pretty much a miracle cure for my allergies without any problems.

Newer antihistamines, I think, were developed with a greater focus on reducing side effects, or reducing drowsiness that some older antihistamines are known for. Consequently, I think some of the newer pills don't work quite as well at what they're supposed to do, eliminate allergic reactions. They're also made to be more generalized, I think, working okay for everyone, but not as great as more specialized pills for certain people. Like I said, there's a strong genetic component to how people react to antihistamines, but I think the newer meds end up being weaker, and perhaps more susceptible to people building up a tolerance so they stop working. It's a trade-off, I guess, if you react poorly to older allergy medications.

All this to say, this is an old drug. It does one thing and does it well, but there may be some side effects going along with that, for some people. It's pretty cheap. It doesn't try to solve an old problem in a new way, it solves an old problem in a way that's stood up to the test of time. It doesn't have a huge marketing budget behind it, and the brand name has mostly been forced out of the market by newer pills. But this generic stuff is just as good, works great for me, and may work great for you. If some of the newer pills don't work well for you, this is definitely worth a try. You may also want to talk to your doctor.

Some people said they were getting bottles expiring in December. For the record, I ordered in October 2012, and my bottle is going to expire in April 2014. Perhaps they've gotten a new batch in.

Herban Essentials Towelettes-Mixed

I have Herban Essentials in front of me having recently purchased the mixed bag and a mixed bag it is! The essential oils are ok (little strong, especially for a male who finds lavender strong at the best of times even on my granny!). NightWave Sleep Assistant As a former airline pilot who has lived a life of jet lag and interrupted circadian rhythm, I was very interested to hear of and try the NightWave. This product works in 3 ways: it projects a soft, slowly pulsing blue light which, 1) draws your mental focus, to the exclusion of unwanted distracting thoughts, and, 2) acts as a cue for breathing slowly, monotonously, from the diaphragm, which slows you physically. The third effect is, 3) it hypnotically lulls you asleep with your eyes open. As it slowly grows dimmer and brighter, the light tells your brain your eyelids are drooping closed you really can't tell the difference until they really are. It tricks your brain! Has a 7 minute cycle that auto shuts off. The 25 minute cycle I've never tried, nor needed. I've also heard that this device has been clinically demonstrated to lower blood pressure. I have bought a NightWave for all my relatives. It's that good.

Last year, I started having a lot of trouble sleeping. When my head hit the pillow, my mind would start reviewing the to-do list that got longer every day. After too many sleepless nights, it began to feel like I was just too tired to fall sleep.

Nothing helped. A therapist/friend told me about the NightWave, and I gave it a try even though I didn't have much hope left.

When I turned on the NightWave that first night, I watched its soft, blue light reflecting on my ceiling. As the light grew larger and smaller, I felt my breathing start to calm down and my eyes getting sleepy. I dozed off but woke up again after a few minutes. It didn't seem to be working for me, but I gave it one more try. I turned it on again and again watched the calming blue light grow large and small and felt my breathing fall into the same easy rhythm. Next thing I knew; it was morning! I'd had my first good night's sleep in months.

After three weeks of peaceful nights, it felt like my body's rhythms were reset.

When my granddaughter came to visit us, she was nervous that first night and had trouble settling down. I turned on my soft, blue light for her, and we both relaxed and fell asleep.

I have been dealing with insomnia most of my adult life and try as I may I have yet to resolve this issue. I read many of the reviews for the Nightwave Sleep Assistant and based on the more positives than negatives, I decided to give this gadget a try. There are many positive reviews that can explain what works about his unit so I'll keep this brief by explaining what I think they could improve:

* The speed, especially as I began to relax further, was too fast and I could not keep the one pace steady without adjusting my breath constantly which in the end was distracting and uncomfortable. Since people's metabolic rates are all different, they could have the pace adjustable within a healthy, restful range to accommodate a slightly slower or faster pace. Pacing control, with simple up/down arrows on either side of a center position "on" button would be a great, useable feature.

* An even better upgrade would be additional controls via a screen so you can change modes in the dark if your session times out or if you happen to wake up and need to restart a session. This box appears to be made on a *very* small budget and I'd feel better about the $50 price I paid if it were reflected better in the components.

* The time out/off settings could be longer; at times it has taken me literally hours to fall asleep and I had a hard time relaxing knowing I needed to "beat the clock" to fall asleep or it would shut off. A one hour setting would be helpful.

* I knew when I bought it that the unit requires your eyes open to follow the light but now in hindsight after trying the unit it seems less of a good idea; I have since found that there are eye masks that have a blue blinking light built in that *may* have the same effect as the Nightwave even with the eyes closed. I haven't tried a mask version yet because of the issue I had with keeping an imposed pace of breathing.

Unfortunately this unit in its current form did not work well for me.

After going through shoulder surgery recently, I needed to get off the pain pills that were very additive, although they helped me get a good nights sleep. If you like the Warm Milk and Honey body lotion by Bath & Body Works you will probably like this as well. Like the lotion it's very soothing, and has an intoxicating fragrance, although, I this the body wash has a little more of a citrus smell. I highly recommend.
