Natrol's Sleep'n Restore 20 Tablets is a great product. Formerly called "Natrol's Sleep'n Revive" it combines Melatonin with Valarian to get you to sleep and help you remain that way for 8 to 10 hours.Melatonin is something our bodies produce naturally, but as we age sometimes our natural production is not enough. Supplementing with Melatonin by itself is a good idea to try first, as you may not need the Valerian addition in this product, or the 3mg of Melatonin.
Try 1mg of Melatonin a half an hour before bed, and go to bed when you start to feel sleepy. You can safely increase this dose to up to 3mg, and some would argue, up to 5mg, but consult your doctor first to make sure it's safe for you, as only you and your doctor know the totality of your health conditions and medications for them. Note: I've found sublingual Melatonin tabs to be the best, as they are quickly absorbed into my system.

I agree with other reviewers that you avoid the need to get up and hit the toilet from drinking a lot of chamomile, and I REALLY appreciate the L-GLUTAMINE which is a natural growth hormone supplement.

I came across this referred by a friend. Melatonin alone didn't do it for me, but this combination of Melatonin, Valarian Root, grape seed extract and other natural nutrition does the trick. I sleep all the way through, even with diabetes and sleep apnea, and I feel refreshed in the morning. I took one tablet before bedtime and within 15 minutes I really had the urge to go lay down and sleep. So, this does work if you are looking for something to help you fall asleep. I believe I still woke up once (usually I use the bathroom at least twice the whole night) around 4 am to use the bathroom but other than that my sleep was good. I was looking for an overnight moisturizer and purchased this product based on recommendations from CSR who appeared very knowledgeable about the product line. While the brochure lists this product in the 'Balance combinationskin' section it may be better suited for the 'Nourish dry skin' section. while it truly left the dry areas of my skin velvety soft and moisturized it made my T-zone extra oily and my pores more visible. This is a light cream that makes your skin feel so smooth and yummy. There is a faint citrus smell. It does seem to make the skin "ready to go" in the morning, so what i mean is that i seem to look less droopy in the morning. Recommended night creme.
Pillowsonic Stereo Pillow Speaker
Pillow speakers.... what a great idea!Especially for self help, subliminal tapes etc. Even for sunbathing !
I've tried several pillow speakers in the quest for better sound quality AND comfort.
Apparently a difficult combination to attain for many manufacturers.
I began my quest by purchasing one of the first offerings, a standard size bed pillow, in which the speakers were embedded. A cord was attached to the pillow to connect to your device (walkman, in my case).
Afer several uses, (not that many) the speakers would cut out & crackle when I moved the cord.
Ended up as spare pillow sans speaker :o(
Next, I tried the standard $6 radio shack pillow speaker, which was actually rather sturdy, round & had a handy volume control (similar to the Sharper Image pillow speaker). Excellent for travel, but the sound quality really sucked, really tiny AND really tinny AND it really feels like there is a rock under your pillow.
After much searching, I came across the PillowSonic digital stereo pillow speaker insert, purchased for $19 from the manufacturer's website.

I think PillowSonic has nailed it.
The cushioned pillow insert contains TWO speakers providing stereo sound (from both sides of the pillow). Surprisingly clear, quite adequate, although we are not talking Bose quality. Not too shabby.
The pillow sleeve itself is rather soft & cushioned well enough where the metal edges of the speakers are not annoying to your ears through your pillow. Unlike the hard plastic radio shack unit... (aka little rock);
PillowSonic is quite comfortable; you can barely feel the speakers.
I slide it into my pillowcase, underneath my pillow & cannot feel it.
Easy to pack & travel as well.
The only disadvantage I encountered was the lack of volume control on the cord or unit. You must use the volume control on your audio device, which is kind of a pain. However, the cord is approx 6', so your device should be close enough to adjust the volume.
Each of the pillow speakers I tried had disadvantages.
Personally, I'd rather have the better sound quality, so I'll sacrifice the volume control.
Of course, my puppy promptly chewed up the connection wire, so I guess I'll be purchasing another... Dare I hope the designers have upgraded the unit & included volume controls?
This product is essentially two very flat speakers, but not that different from those in your headphones, inserted into a rectangular pocket of foam. There are hard pieces in the pillow speaker, but there is enough foam in front of it, that you can sleep on it comfortably, as the back of the speaker just presses further into your pillow.
I cannot use this underneath my pillow as I have a tempurpedic memory foam pillow its just too dense to hear the speaker well even at the highest volume but a regular pillow would work much better.
However, I put this right on top of my pillow and put my ear on top of it, it works great, I tend to keep it at the highest volume and just adjust the distance of the pillow to my ear depending on how loud I want to perceive it, the speakers do not have a volume on them (that would be a nice feature). I've slept on this every night for 7 months and no visible wear or tear has appeared.
The only drawback is that the pillow has two plastic tabs similar the small end of a plastic tag holder that holds a price tag to your new clothes on the front, and that scratches my face, I cut it off though with no apparent repercussions, I'm not sure what purpose they served, perhaps to hold wires in place.
Overall, this is exactly what I was looking for as I need to listen to something to fall asleep, but with kids and husband often sleeping in the same room, I don't want to play it on a regular speaker.
UPDATE 11/7/2011:
So I originally purchased these speakers in 2007. I have used a pillowsonic speaker every single night to fall asleep since then. Unfortunately I'd love to say that my original pillowsonic speaker is still going strong, but that's not the case. I don't remember the exact timeline, but after a while the original speaker ended up with one of the wires going to one of the speakers detaching, so only 1/2 worked, then eventually it quit altogether. I purchased another one and it had the same eventual problem. I'm now on my third. However, this is over 4 years of literally laying on the pillow speaker (because as I said above, I can't put it under my pillow) all night long and the speaker gets yanked around by the cord a lot and shoved into pillowcases and suitcases for travel. Listening to an audio book to fall asleep is just about the only thing I have found that works for my insomnia.
So, although I've had to replace it a couple times, I am not displeased with the amount of time each has lasted, given the price and how hard I am on them.

You do have to adjust your head a bit otherwise its muffled. It took me a few days to position it correctly under the pillow. I put it at a 45 degree angle and it worked perfectly. However, after about a month of use its starting to die on me. One of the speakers is really fissling out, and the other one is starting to fade as well. Its more irritating than "soothing". I purchased a "pillow speaker" a couple of weeks ago and it was terrible. It was one mono speaker attached to a 3/4" jack and would not get loud enough to hear throug my pillow. This pillowsonic stereo speaker however is much better! It's stereo for one and way loud enough also. To be realistic though, the sound is somewhat muffled. The way to get around this is to set your equilizer, if you have one, with higher mids and lower the bass. I use the "bass reducer" setting on iTunes and it sounds great!Save 32% Off
Nature Made Melatonin 3mg
Melatonin is great for insomnia. I have always been a nigt person, and just sid not get sleepy until after midnight. We have used this brand for years and it does a good job of bringing on sleepiness. I take 6-9 mg now when needed. I find that after taking, it's best to read in bed until you feel sleepy and then close your eyes right away. It does wear off after a short while.

This magnesium oil is the best available. I use it daily and get great results, including relaxed muscles, better sleep, and improved daytime energy. It's ultra pure because it's sourced from an ancient seabed a mile beneath the earth's surface. The key to prevent or lessen any burning sensation is just to start with a small amount you apply, and then gradually increase it. Some people dilute it 50-50 with water (in a spray bottle) or add it to any skin lotion to reduce burning or itching. Your skin adapts over time. I've noticed some curiosity expressed here about the price difference and possible quality or strength difference between ANCIENT MINERALS/Genuine Zechstein mag oil [for sale on this Amazon buying page] vs. SWANSON ULTRA/Zechstein Inside, Magnesium Oil 8 fl oz (237 ml) Spray. *[My review on the Swanson Ultra Amazon page gives a personal, detailed endorsement of any pure magnesium chloride brine used transdermally. Please feel free to read that and apply its contents to both of these offerings.]
I've recently purchased and tried this Ancient Mineral brand. It appears to me to be equal to the Swanson Ultra offering, yet I have detected a difference, by taste, as noted in this video review. The pricing at this time of posting this review, on each of these potentially lifesaving products, in an 8 oz spray bottle, is:

Both indicate that they are supersaturated solutions of magnesium chloride brine water from the ancient Zechstein Seabed. I believe they are. I don't know if one is a stronger solution than the other. Here are some of the factors I looked at which might relate here:
1. I have read on the Ancient Minerals web site that they believe it is acceptable to make your own brine water from the magnesium flakes from the Zechstein seabed. I was honestly pleased to read that because I do make and use my own solution from the flakes [though I can't make it as super saturated as AM could, won't be able to test contents, and I use tap water].
2. I have read on the Zechstein Minerals mine site that they cannot recommend making your own brine water from the flakes, due to a few trace residuals which come through from the breakdown, evaporation process of obtaining flakes from the mined brine solution. Included in that list, in bare trace amounts at a parts per million level [which the site says are not hazardous], are magnesium carbonate, magnesium hydroxide chloride, and some hydrochloric acid in the vapor stream. I recommend visiting their web site to read about this. I appreciated this information, especially the list of residuals, so I can make up my mind whether I'm concerned about them in my case.
3. According to an interesting, helpful discussion topic I read on a web site [CureZone] ANCIENT MINERALS invests time and resources to test each batch they sell of mg brine water, providing a list of the solution content including trace elements. I've checked the AM web site and seen this batch test results list for April 28, 2009. Also, from text included on my spray bottle of AM mg oil, this appreciated information is included: 8 sprays = approx 100 mg elemental magnesium. I've also read and recommend the Magnesium for Life web site, which offers quite a bit of interesting information. I've watched some excellent videos made by Dr. Mark Sircus on his web site, and on YouTube.
One thing which stands out in my mind from all this is a comment Dr. Sircus made about wanting to know the precise contents in each batch of mg chloride brine, even that which comes from the Zechstein site. Sircus said, to this effect, "You shouldn't trust what someone else says about that." That seemed to me like a wise assessment which was probably backed by experience. Taking this type of care gives extra costs which must be covered and which I'm willing to pay.
However, I also understand why Swanson's medical spokesperson, Dr. Barbara Hensen, living closer to the Netherlands mine site, seems to be comfortably familiar with the Zechstein mining people and process. I can see why she and Swanson trust the product they receive from that mining process. I've formed an intuitive opinion for myself, and given the background provided in my review on the Swanson Ultra mag oil buying page here on Amazon:
I believe that for me, both these two magnesium oil products [and possibly others I haven't investigated] are of excellent value in shoring up human nutrition and deficiencies. I will continue to buy and use both of them.
I will likely continue to use the highest volume of the Swanson products due to their ability to offer such excellent pricing, yet I will always keep on hand a parallel bottle of the Ancient Minerals spray as well. Love this stuff! I don't like taking supplemental Magnesium due to gastrointestinal side effects, so this is wonderful! know most of us are deficient in Magnesium which is SO important for cardiovascular health, bone health, neuromuscular optimization, overall healing. I personally find it VERY helpful as a gentle sleep aide, since I do not like prescription or even OTC medications as a rule. I also have found an interesting use for it as the other reviews/info says, there may be a slight stinging sensation when it is applied (by the way, not a big deal not painful, but not soothing either), but for some reason, when I put it on my underarms there was no stinging whatsoever. Well, I noticed that I don't need any deodorant when I put this on me my underarms remain fairly dry (I exercise quite a bit so I will sweat some then, but NO smell). For those who are shopping around for magnesium chloride, the gold standard seems to be the magnesium chloride brine coming from the Zechstein seabed, mined and manufactured by Zechstein Minerals. After much researching and comparison I decided on Swanson because they are one of the few purveyors of MgCl "oil" that carries the "Zechstein Inside" logo. Because Swanson is so much cheaper than Ancient Minerals, which also markets Zechstein, I decided on Swanson. I believe Swanson can offer much cheaper prices because they are so big, they can buy in huge quantity at the best prices. Whether Ancient Minerals is worth more than twice for the same product, I have no idea. But it would be hard for me to believe it, because both claim to be nothing more than 100% magnesium chloride from Zechstein.Here is the link to the Zechstein website:
