Chammomilla 30X by Hylands 250 Tablets

I have used Hyland's Teething tablets for years-for my own kids when they were teething, and have recommended this product many times. I am now watching my god-daughter's baby who is teething and having a difficult time. I immediately ordered a bottle of Teething Tablets for her. I was dismayed when I learned that it now only contains Chamomile, and that Belladonna, the homeopathic ingredient used to treat inflammation has been removed. When checking Hyland's website, there was a discussion stating that Homeopathic Belladonna was safe. They further stated that it would take at least 10 bottles of the homeopathic preparation to be ingested by an infant before any side effects of toxicity were seen. There was no explanation as to why it was removed from the teething preparation. I can only say that the Teething Tablets alone do not work. My only suggestion for parents or caregivers struggling with the suffering of a teething baby and wanting to go the natural approach, is to buy an additional bottle of Belladonna 30x, and give both the Teething Tabs and Belladonna together. This would have been the original formula. It is unfortunate that many parents will resort back to Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen and just assume that those "natural remedies" don't work.

I bought these when teething tabs went off the market. Though they are back on the market, I still used the chamomillia. They seemed to calm my son who was teething. I also used them on my other son when he needed to calm down, and on my husband and myself when we had trouble sleeping. He's fussy, gassy, and not sleeping and just when I was so enjoying his smile he doesn't want to anymore.. I did a blind study of this supplement with my husband as the guinea pig :) For the past 2 weeks I've given him two capsules each day but didn't tell him what they were for. Things that helped with energy would mess with my sleep patterns, or cause me to feel great and then edgy over the course of a day, while Ashwaganda merely helps when I take it and is noticed if I forget it.

For those who suffer from long term Lyme disease I can't recommend it enough. Regardless of whether the disease is dormant or not, I have rapid spikes of roller coaster emotions that have nothing to do with my environment, as well as close to debilitating energy slumps. After almost 20 years of trying different alternatives both medical and herbal, this has been the one dependable supplement that helps me come close to normal on a daily basis.

As for dosage and times of use opinions vary. I originally was taking two pills in the morning and two more before 1, both with food. I started with this pattern because some herbalists suggested later than 1 to 2 in the afternoon might keep you up later than you would prefer in the evening. Recently I started taking my second 2 pills close to bed time, and the last few days I've awoken having slept soundly and feel much more refreshed. I'll update this post after a few months to see whether that pattern continues.

Regardless, if you have energy issues and/or some emotional instability and are looking for an herbal option I would recommend you try Ashwaganda. For me the positive effects were noticeable quiet quickly, so you wouldn't need to buy more than one bottle as an experiment to find out if it's beneficial for you. Hope this helps.

**Update** Found taking two right when I go to bed to be awesome. I'm consistently waking up feeling much more rested and also actually ready to wake up. (less "need" to hit the snooze) Like some others have mentioned I'm either having more inventive dreams, or I'm rested enough to remember having them. When previously taking two at breakfast and lunch I would really notice an energy dip if I didn't take the second round, but I'm feeling even more balanced and energized now taking the second two at night instead.

One note of caution from my experience: if you try taking this at night take it when you actually are ready to go to sleep; not an hour or so before. The times I've taken two pills and then decided to stay up longer I couldn't easily fall right to sleep. Nothing horrible, just my brain was happily active for an hour or two after the lights went off. I've had very reliable results taking this right when I'm done with everything and prepared to sleep. Also nice to see the thumbs up on this; means taking the time to write this was worth it to others and that makes me glad, so thanks!

I have taken many other supplements to help with my anxiety and stress related issues and none seemed to help much (htp.calm, mood support, true calm, st johns wort). This was my first time purchase of any ashwagandha product. It's funny that the day I received this item was one of the most stressful days I have had in a while. Contour Memory Foam Leg Pillow with Cover

This pillow was too soft! It needs to be firm enough to keep your knees apart which is the whole purpose in using a leg pillow in the first place. This pillow was so soft that my knees ended up mashing it within minutes and therefore my knees were touching and the pillow was useless. I don't recommend this for anyone who needs a pillow for knee support for proper spine alignment and back health.

I have had a couple pillows of this sort. This one is perfect for me precisely because it is relatively soft and it isn't too thick. I am about 5 ft 8 in and 180 pounds, so not a huge man, but not small. I have knee problems and also a vascular malformation on one lower leg, as well as knobby knees. When I sleep on my side and my knees are together, I often have problems with lateral pressure on one knee, pressure between the knees causing blood stasis in the VM, or other problems. These are enough that I often have trouble sleeping or am awakened by pain. I sometimes sleep with a regular pillow between my legs, which has helped a lot, but it is very awkward under the covers. I tried a similar type of contour leg pillow that had much denser foam and was much thicker, but it was too dense and too thick -my legs just didn't feel comfortable with it, though I slept a little better. So I was looking for a thinner, softer pillow, which this is.

The bottom line is that these sorts of things depend a lot on personal preference, the size of the individual, why you need a leg pillow, etc.

My hubby and I have been using leg pillows for a while and needed new ones. We bought one of these and one of the HoMedics Ortho Therapy leg pillows, so here's my two cents comparing the two. This is the one that I use -I'm 5'7", female, average build. I like the pillow, the shape is good and the cover has a nice texture, but will almost certainly have to replace it in 12-18 months. I've already noticed that it is flatter than when I first got it a few weeks ago, though it isn't anywhere near problematic now.

My hubby is 5'9" and has some back problems, and prefers the HoMedics pillow. While he initially found it big and stiff, he's adjusted and likes it now. I've tried his once and it was FAR too wide/stiff for me -felt like I had a large cardboard box between my knees. I believe that the HoMedics will loosen up somewhat over time, but it seems more durable than the Contour, just too big for me.

This is a really soft pillow, with a very nice soft cover. Unfortunately, the inside is too soft to provide enough support for most people. When I put it between my legs, it gets compressed too easily and my legs touch, which is not what is supposed to happen. This leg pillow doesn't provide enough support to keep your legs apart while sleeping.

The memory foam is much too soft, so the pillow does not separate the knees, making it worthless. Earlier versions of the Contour kneee pillow were made of regular foam, so initially, they provided sufficient separation to relieve stress on the hips. Eventually, the foam compressed until the spacing was insufficient, requiring replacement every few years. This new pillow was supposed to be the replacement, but brand new, it's worse than my existing old one. Presumably, Amazon will take it back; they're usually good about this.

I came across this referred by a friend. Melatonin alone didn't do it for me, but this combination of Melatonin, Valarian Root, grape seed extract and other natural nutrition does the trick. I sleep all the way through, even with diabetes and sleep apnea, and I feel refreshed in the morning. ResMed H5i Standard Water Tub

I am giving one star as I feel this was a deceptive sale. I have been very happy The ResMed line with but this is not their best product and to place a deceptive picture for a product by the seller is wrong. The product pictured is the ResMed H5i Cleanable Water Tub but what you actually get is the standard tub (ResMed Catalog Number 36803) which is similar but not the same as the 36800. Additionally I won't be able to return it as I opened the product thinking it was a newer version. Upon opening the product I could tell it was not a newer version of the "cleanable" tub I have been using. A quick visit to the ResMed site confirmed that this was not the product I was led to believe I was purchasing by the picture.

From the ResMed website...

*The standard tub opens for easy cleaning and is designed to be replaced at least every six months, or as recommended by the healthcare provider.

*The cleanable water tub is easy to disassemble, clean and reassemble. It is made of durable materials to sustain multiple disinfections, and is approved for multi-patient use in a clinic, hospital or sleep lab.

Unfortunately for me I did not validate the standard tub was not what was pictured as the 36800 (pictured) is what came with my machine and I assumed that the picture was valid. I wanted a second cleanable tub as I do not always have the time to clean it before the night rolls around. While I am sure this tub will last six months or more with regular maintenance I wanted the tougher cleanable model. The difference in the materials is very noticeable and my guess is that the latches on the standard tub will fail unlike the latches on the cleanable model.

Unfortunately Amazon which was once a very trustworthy site to purchase items has reduced the quality of the non-Amazon sellers peddling their wares without concern for accuracy of the product being described and offered for sale. The same seller has the cleanable model available with the same picture used for this product. I regularly use Amazon and try to ensure that anything I purchase is sold by Amazon and not a third party seller but in this case the option was not available.

I think it's a must have. The non-cleanable type are possible to disassemble and clean but it's not easy. This product is very worth it.

air Sleep/Snore

My friend who I have known since grade school is normally a "window rattler" snorer. She suffers from sleep apnea and slept through the night without snoring last night! I'm not sure what happened with the person that these didn't work for, but maybe they were not inserted properly. They are to be removed from the plastic card and then should be inserted like a ring going inside the nasal passage, the small piece of plastic holding them together goes under the nose. They should be pushed up inside the passage enough to spread the flanges in each side of the nose. My friend and I are now in our fifties and she came for a visit this weekend. I happened to have these in my cabinet after purchasing them once when I had a bad cold. She sleeps in the guest room, but in the past I could hear her from the next room! Not last night!!! Give these a try at least! They may not work for everyone, but they sure helped her!

A psychiatrist diagnosised my daughter who is on the autism spectrum as also having ADHD and ADD and wanted to put her on a prescription regime. Sodium Benzoate is a widely used preservative in soft drinks and medications, but it is reportedly a carcinogen and has been linked to hyperactivity in children, especially those with ADHD or just naturally hyperactive. Sodium Benzoate makes my daughter go nuts the day after she has it, and the school can barely contain her. I was very disappointed to receive this 'natural' product, only to find that it contains sodium benzoate. Google sodium benzoate and you'll be overwhelmed by different articles discussing the safety (or lack thereof) of this chemical preservative. For those attempting to control hyperactive behavior with any type of elimination diet (e.g. Feingold), you will likely find that this is not an acceptable product, and that it might actually have the opposite effect of calming your child's behavior. I've noticed that other products from this company also contain sodium benzoate.

For those in search of truly all-natural products, we've been having luck with natural flower essences (Bach's is the brand we use). The effect was not immediate, but it's intended to progressively improve temperament and other emotional issues, to a point where the product is no longer needed. In other words, it's not meant as a lifelong symptom masker, but as an actual treatment. Hope this helps those with children with food allergies / sensitivities.

Our oldest son (5) is very intelligent but would have tantrums where he couldn't seem to control his emotions. We were cautious about giving him any kind of medication because we didn't want to change who he was, just calm him down. I am the mother of a 14 month old daughter who has had trouble sleeping from day one. I saw this product at a local health food store and I decided to try it because, to be perfectly honest, I was desperate for sleep and to stop worrying about my daughter's sleep deprivation. Before I started giving this remedy to her, I could not get her to take ANY naps ever. When she was a newborn, she'd only sleep if I was holding her. As she got older, she wouldn't take naps period. And it started to work... really well. The first two days, my daughter slept about 6 hours in the day and while she didn't sleep through the night, she slept for about 4 hour intervals and got a 12 hour night sleep! Now four months later, she takes two naps a day for a total of 3-5 hours a day. And at night, she still isn't sleeping through the night regularly, but she's getting her molars now so that could by why. However, getting her to go back to sleep isn't hard. I get up pat her or sing a song and she's out again. Whereas before I would have to nurse her, rock her, swaddle her, blah blah blah. It's amazing. I'm still working on getting her to sleep all the way through the night without needing me to go back to sleep though she sleeps a total of 12 hours a night usually.

I did some experimenting and I found that this remedy works way better for us if it's given before meals versus after. (Which is part of the instructions anyway.) Also giving it at scheduled times helps keep the schedule in place. My schedule is like so: I give her a dose when she wakes up in the morning, after her first nap, after her second nap, and if she wakes up at night I'll give her a dose then too. This might be just an anomaly, but the remedy doesn't make her sleepy right away, rather it over time makes it easier to put her down for naps. That's why I give the dose after she wakes up. It usually means in the 3 or 4 hours that she'll be ready to lie down. Also, this product is used for other things like hyperactivity and nightmares. My daughter doesn't have those issues, and I have not noticed a decrease in her activity level or behavior except for the sleeping issue.

I do want to add that this isn't a miracle cure for sleep issues, I don't think there is one out there. This is part of a combination of things I do to ensure her sleeping well. I work really hard to keep her days flexible and fun filled, but scheduled. And I stay on top of giving her lots of social activity and exercise and one on one mama time. I have set patterns with her, like before a nap I read her a "special nap book" and we play her "sleeping music." I also make sure to keep her away from sugar, except fruits, and feed her really nutritious food. I guess what I'm saying is this remedy helps keep her balanced in some way, and all the other things I do are to contribute to her being well-balanced as well. All in all, I'm very satisfied with this product.

I have had anxiety problems for about 10 years now. The usual general anxietyfeeling anxious for no apparent reason, panic attacks, feeling completely uncomfortable when doing 'normal' things like going out to dinner or to the movies. Xanax has helped me with this a great deal. It works, and I would have had a lot more misery without it. However, Xanax is very addictive and unnatural and leaves me with some side-effects like feeling spaced out and drowsy etc. I take Xanax a few days a week (maybe about 3 on average) at a dose of .5 mg, just to give you a frame of reference if you are in a similar situation. The days I don't take it I believe I experience some withdrawal or just feel like I could use it, but I have tried to limit myself in the 3 years I have been taking it so I did not become completely dependent. Enough for background information-

I have tried a few different herbal remedies, looking for something that could help to provide me with relief from anxiety that was not addictive. Skullcap by itself didn't do much, if anything. Lithium Orotate seemed to have no effect. Chamomile capsules do seem to relax the stomach a bit but don't do much mentally. When I first got the Theanine I was taking it in two separate doses because I wasn't paying attention to the bottle. It says the serving size is two capsules but it doesn't say to take them twice a day. I was taking 1 in the morning and 1 at night, and noticed maybe a little difference after taking it but was ready to pretty much give up on the stuff. A light bulb went off when I realized I was splitting the dose in half, pretty significant for me as I am 6'1" 210lbs. (maybe 212 after Christmas :) ) When I took the two caps together, I felt better than I had for a LONG time, even compared to some times being on Xanax, because my thoughts were clear and I didn't have the guilt that goes with taking a tranquilizer, but I still felt much more relaxed than usual.

So, here is why I say I have some proof: I have a heart rate monitor for working out. I have taken a ton of readings messing around with it while I am sitting around the house and my resting heart rate tends to be about 85-90, which isn't bad, but you can do a lot better. I put the heart rate monitor on prior to a workout the day I finally took the correct dose of Theanine Serene and was feeling good, and I was amazed to see my heart rate was 65! I took over 10 readings over then next half hour and all were between 62-71 or so. A huge difference. About a week has gone by and I have continued to have the same resultsfeeling much better and it has the same continued positive effect on my heart rate. I have read more about Theanine and supposedly, the way it works to relax your mind is by stimulating alpha brainwaves, the state of mind achieved through relaxation and meditation that brings you to a calm but clear headed mental state. It makes perfect sense to me as far as describing what it does for me mentally. I have found that a self-hypnosis CD I use and recommend "Creating Calm and Inner Peace" By Glenn Harrold, seems to be much more effective while I am feeling the effects of this. It is easier for me to slip under and have my mind more open to the suggestions, as there is far less going on as far as the random thoughts and clutter. I have not eliminated my Xanax completely, but I feel I will be able to in time and have done several things over the holidays that I would normally have required it for without needing it. I'm not saying I was perfect, but I felt much better able to cope. The rest I feel will be up to desensitization, which is a whole other subject for dealing with anxiety, but one that works...

How much you can take:

Finally, the magnesium in this supplement sounds like it is a good thing as well, according to some information magnesium can help with depression, and the manufacturers of this product state that it helps to relax nerves and muscles. Whatever it does the combination of the ingredients in this product work for me. The problem with magnesium is if you take a lot it can make you poop too much etc. I have read in several different places that you can take a large amount of Theanine without side effects. Therefore, I ordered some bulk Theanine powder from another store that I plan to combine with this supplement. So, I will take the two caps of Theanine Serene and add maybe another 200mg of Theanine powder, without doubling up on the magnesium, and see if it doesn't improve the effects even more. Do a little research on Theanine. It is gathered from tea, and is used widely in Japan, and has been for years with no problems that I could find. Good luck and I hope that you get some relief.

Before I start, I want to say, obviously, supplements affect everyone differently. I came the across amino acid L-Theanine while researching natural treatments options for anxiety. I chose Theanine Serene because in addition to the main ingredient it includes other herbs and vitamins also known to ease anxiety.

I began administering this to a family member with severe anxiety. We started on the dose recommended on the bottle, which is 2 tablets daily. While it did not specify the time, in my research I learned that it is best taken at bedtime since it can cause grogginess. (Some folks report the opposite reaction, feelings of energy and improved attention). One reason, that makes sense to me atleast, is that you become very tired as a result of being able to finally "relax" with a break from the anxiety feelings.

My family member reported a significant improvement in feelings of panic and severe anxiety in only 3 days! We are very happy with that. But, they are experiencing severe exhaustion/tiredness. While this is better than the anxiety, its quite crippling. We are going to back down to 1 tablet and see how that goes. Either way,I am sold on this product.

The reason I gave 4 stars was because the ingredients list includes Sorbitol. That's a sugar substitute relative to aspartame. We know the negative side effects to that. So I'm not sure why it's an ingredient in this supplement.(It is listed under inactive ingredients).

Please take your time and research the supplement and its ingredients.
